Funeral services were held Monday, May 6, 1 p.m. at the Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel for Ford Odell Hamilton, 81, of Flat Gap, who passed away Wednesday, May 1 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
Mr. Hamilton was born Dec. 19, 1931 in Flat Gap, son of the late Charles Pete and Macy Jewell Bond Hamilton. He was a retired gas, oil and water well cable driller; and a U. S. Korean War veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Geneva Ferguson Hamilton of Red Bush; three daughters, Betty (Wade) Castle and Becky (Ronnie) Fyffe, both of Flat Gap, and Carol VanHoose of Lexington; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
The service was officiated by Tooney Easterling, Johnny Estep, Paul Preston, and Delbert Music, with burial in the Milt Williams cemetery at Red Bush.

Joann Scarberry Griffith
1960-2013
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 10, 1 p.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Joann Scarberry Griffith, 52, of River, who passed away Monday, May 6 at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
Mrs. Griffith was born Aug. 16, 1960 in Johnson County, daughter of Ralph Scarberry of River, and the late Alice Sparks Scarberry. She was a homemaker.
Surviving in addition to her father are her husband, Ellis Eugene Griffith of River; one son, Derrick Ellis Griffith of River; three brothers, Homer Eugene Scarberry of East Point, Sammy Michael Scarberry of Ashland, and Robert Lee Scarberry of River; and one sister, Jwana Miller of Staffordsville.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 8, 6 p.m.-9 p.m. and Thursday, May 9, 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
The service will be officiated by Gail Music, with burial to follow in the Scarberry cemetery at River.

John Lowell LeMaster
1920-2013
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 3, 11 a.m. at the Paintsville Church of Christ, 11th St., Paintsville, for John Lowell LeMaster, 92, of Paintsville, who passed away Monday, April 29, at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville.
Mr. LeMaster was born Nov. 18, 1920 in Johnson County, son of the late Henry Bascom and Florence Harris LeMaster. He was a welder/pipefitter, and a U.S. Army veteran. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Ochal LeMaster, Virgil LeMaster, Roy LeMaster, and Raleigh LeMaster; and three sisters, Zaza LeMaster, Mayme Campbell, and Erma Lyons.
Surviving are his wife, Mabel Fyffe LeMaster of Paintsville; two sons, Link Bascom “L.B” (Janie) LeMaster and Johnny Lee (Debbie) LeMaster, both of Paintsville; four grandchildren, Bryant (Shelli) LeMaster, Brandi (Joe) Collins, Carrie (Matt) Ratliff, and Amber (Craig) Ratliff; 10 great-grandchildren, John Braxton Craig Ratliff, Joseph Gunner Collins, Mattingly Jane Ratliff, Baron Maxwell Ratliff, Josiah Griffin Collins, Blair Lynn Ratliff, Chesa Grace Collins, Johna Grier Collins, Carrigan Grea Ratliff, and Link Barrett LeMaster.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 2, 6-9 p.m. and after 10 a.m. Friday, May 3 until time of service.
The service will be officiated by Ben Wright, Craig Ratliff, Steve Trimble, David Wright and Stan Blevins, with burial to follow in the Highland Memorial Park cemetery at Staffordsville.
Auxier DAV will conduct full military honors.

John D. Rice
1922-2013
Funeral services were held Sunday, April 28, 2 p.m. at the Little Paint Church of God of East Point, for John D. Rice, 90, of East Point, who passed away Wednesday at the UK Medical Center in Lexington.
Mr. Rice was born July 29, 1922 in Floyd County, son of the late Judd and Margarett Music Rice. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Marie Rice, three brothers, Roy Rice, Sam Rice and Verl Rice; three sisters, Vertrice Cartmell, Lois Richardson, and Beatrice Johnson.
Surviving are one son, Vic Rice of East Point; one daughter, Rheda Robinson of Nicholasville; one brother, Tom Rice of Hager Hill; one sister, Nell Conley of East Point; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The service will be officiated by Jeff White, with burial in the Lakeview cemetery at Staffordsville.

Paul David Wiley
1940-2013
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 1, 1 p.m. at the Southside Free Will Baptist Church in Paintsville, for Paul David Wiley, 73, of Paintsville, who passed away Sunday, April 28 at his residence.
Mr. Wiley was born April 10, 1940 in Floyd County, son of the late Carl and Mae Rose Wiley. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Anna Wiley; and one brother, Gene Hunt.
Surviving are two daughters, Paula and Dewey Lafferty of Van Lear, and Sandy (Danny) Feltner of Staffordsville; two brothers, Robert Wiley of Danville, and Virgil Wiley of Lexington; five sisters, Roberta Dixon and Jewell Tussey, both of David, Carlene Burchett and Marie Stephens, both of Prestonsburg, and Ruth Conley of Paintsville; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The service will be officiated by Pastor Wayne Price, with burial to follow in the Highland Memorial Park cemetery at Staffordsville.

George Edward Perkins
1944-2013
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 27, 1 p.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for George Edward Perkins, 69, of Paintsville, who passed away Wednesday, April 24 at Hospice House of Huntington, in Huntington, W. Va.
Mr. Perkins was born April 4, 1944 in Johnson County, son of the late James Earl and Matilda Litteral Perkins. He was a mechanic. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Gayle Perkins; and one son, Dennis Edward Perkins.
Surviving are one daughter, Laura Louise Sammons of Paintsville; four brothers, William Perkins of Paintsville, Oscar Perkins of Flat Gap, Earl Perkins of Thelma, and Glen Perkins of Mt. Sterling; three sisters, Jewell Wright of Salyersville, Carol Daniels of Paintsville, and Barbara Vanover of Indiana; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Ronnie Spriggs, with burial in the Highland Memorial Park cemetery at Staffordsville.

Georgia Marie Rowland
1957-2013
Funeral services were held Sunday, April 28, 11 a.m. at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Georgia Marie Rowland, 55, of Stanton, who passed away Thursday, April 25 in Stanton.
Mrs. Rowland was born May 20, 1955 in Paintsville, daughter of the late Russell “Bud” and Georgene Adams Duty. She was a nurse aide at Mountain Manor Nursing Home.
Surviving are her husband, Stoney Rowland of Stanton; one son, Billy Lafferty Jr. of Staffordsville; one daughter, Tracy Helton of Pine Ridge; two brothers, Jack Duty of Blacksburg, Va., and Larry Duty of Van Lear; one sister, Judy Ward of Van Lear; and eight grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Isaac Rowland, with burial in the Duty Family cemetery at Meally.

Glenn E. Hopson
1925-2013
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 30, 1 p.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Glenn E. Hopson, 87, of Thelma, who passed away Saturday, April 27 at Mountain Manor Nursing Home in Paintsville.
Mr. Hopson was born July 17, 1925 in Floyd County, son of the late James and Draxie Hall Hopson. He was a U. S. Navy veteran and a retired coal miner, and a member of the East Point Masonic Lodge. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Branham Hopson.
Surviving are two sons, Skip (Bobbie) Hopson of Paintsville, and Rod Hopson of Thelma; one brother, Jimmy Ray Hopson of Bristol, Tenn.; one sister, Opal June Toth of Cleveland, Ohio; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Harry N. Frisby, with burial in the Highland Memorial Park cemetery at Staffordsville.
