Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 2, 11 a.m. at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Linda Rose Price, 59, of Thelma, who passed away Sunday, Dec. 30 at her residence.
Mrs. Price was born Jan. 9, 1953 in Owenton, daughter of the late Roy and Mary Pearl Upton Humprey. She was a waitress for Cracker Barrel.
Surviving are her husband, Jerry D. Price of Thelma; one step-son, Jerry D. Price; three daughters, Mary Perry of Georgetown, Samatha Stidham of Kingsport, Tenn., and Jodi Shaffer of Bristol, Va.; one step-daughter, Brenda Faye McIntosh of Xenia, Ohio; one sister, Brenda Turner of Georgetown; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Nathan Thomas, with burial in the Lakeview Memorial cemetery at Staffordsville.
Arrangements under the direction of the Preston Funeral Home of Paintsville.

Thomas Marion ‘Tommie’ Castle
1942-2012
Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 4, 11 a.m. at the Ramey Branch Church for Thomas Marion “Tommie” Castle, 70, of Nippa, who passed away Monday, Dec. 31.
Mr. Castle was born April 6, 1942 in Stambaugh, son of the late Lenzie and Edna Isaac Castle. He was a coal miner with Daniels Coal Co.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy Green Castle of Nippa; two sons, Thomas Castle Jr. and David Michael Castle, both of Paintsville; two daughters, Brenda Kay Ratliff of Flat Gap, and Ruth Ann King of Staffordsville; three brothers, Willie Ray and Walter Lee Castle, both of Sitka, and Jim Castle of River; eight sisters, LouVernia Burchett and Louise Burchett, both of Stambaugh, Okie Jane Eidanir of Hillsboro, Ohio, Fay Spivey of Skiatook, Okla, Joyce Stambaugh of Sitka, Marilyn Stambaugh, Flat Gap, Pauline Caldwell of Thealka, and Pearline Blanton of Nippa.
The service will be officiated by Arthur Todd Scarberry and Paul Ratliff, with burial in the Clark Castle cemetery at Nippa.
Arrangements under the direction of the Preston Funeral Home of Paintsville.

Jack D. Perry
1929-2013
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 29, 11 a.m. at the Boonscamp Free Will Baptist Church for Jack D. Perry, 83, of Boonscamp, who passed away Tuesday, March 26 at Cornerstone Hospital in Huntington.
Mr. Perry was born July 5, 1929 in Johnson County, son of the late Jack Harlem and Emma Hale Perry. He was also preceded in death by his lifetime partner, Betty Smith; one son, Dempsey Ray Perry; step-son, John Smith; one brother, Jack Perry Jr., and one sister, Pansy Crum.
Surviving are four daughters, Emma Blevins of Salyersville, Carol Collins of Paintsville, Stephanie Bowens of Boonscamp, and Robin Easterday of Indiana; one sister, Christine Roffhammer of Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in the Smith Family cemetery at Boonscamp.
Arrangements under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home of Paintsville.

Denzil C. Chambers
1942-2013
Committal services will be held Friday, March 29, 9:30 a.m. at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery, North, in Williamstown for Denzil C. Chambers, 71, of Morning View, who passed away Monday, March 25 at the Cincinnati V. A. Hospital.
Mr. Chamber was born March 15, 1942 in Crittenden, son of the late Charles and Julia Opal Cruey Chambers. He was a truck driver, and a U. S. Army Veteran.
Surviving are two sons, Rick and Daniel Chambers, both of Morning View; one daughter, Kristi Hazelett of Paintsville; one brother, Ronald Chambers of Morning View; three sisters, Willa Mae Wright of Crittenden, Sandra Palmer of Morning View, and Cheryl Ann Sheriff of Dry Ridge; and four grandchildren.
Arrangements under the direction of the Stanley Funeral Home of Williamstown.

Leland Kermit Wells
1925-2013
Funeral services were held Monday, March 25, 12 p.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Leland Kermit Wells, 87, of Hager Hill, who passed away Saturday, March 23 at Highland Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg.
Mr. Wells was born Oct. 31, 1925 in FLoyd County, son of the late William Elza Wells and Mary Bayard Roberts Wells Counts. He was an electrician, and a U. S. veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Lora Marie Burchett Wells of Hager Hill; one daughter, Linda Wells (Elvie) Grim of Paintsville; two grandsons, Sammie Leland Hobson and Robert Lee (Kimberly) Hobson; three great-grandchildren, Maggie, Ethan and Blake Hobson; one step-grandson, Jason Grim; and one step-great-grandson, Chase Grim; one brother, Medley Roger Wells of New Mexico; five sisters, Carol Ward of Prestonsburg, Billie Horn of Hager Hill, Sally Morris of Enon, Ohio, Allene Dunseith on Conyers, Ga., and Paula True of Lakeland, Fla.
Auxier Chapter 18 DAV conducted full military honors.
The service was officiated by Bobby Joe Spencer, with burial in the family cemetery at Ford’s Gap, Auxier.

Lorraine Castle
1921-2013
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 29, 1 p.m. at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Lorraine Castle, 92, of Tutor Key, who passed away Sunday, March 24.
Mrs. Castle was born Jan. 17, 1921 at Meally, daughter of the late Mitchell and Goldie Plummer Walters. She was an assemblyline worker with Molded Fiberglass Co., and a member of the Concord United Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jay Castle; and one son, Douglas Picklesimer.
Surviving are one brother, Charles William Walters of Kenova, W. Va.; one sister, Elva Kleindienst of Burton, Ohio; one grandchild, and two great-grandchildren.
The service will be officiated by Dewey Mullins, with burial in the Castle cemetery at Tutor Key.
Arrangements under the direction of the Preston Funeral Home of Paintsville.

Nevolyn Smith
1917-2013
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 20, 1 p.m. at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Nevolyn Smith, 96, of Paintsville, who passed away Sunday, March 17.
Mrs. Smith was born March 16, 1917 in Esco, daughter of the late Wilson and Stella Damron Childers. She was a teacher in the Paintsville City School system. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George E. Smith.
Surviving are one son, Jimmy Smith of Pikeville; one daughter, Connie Jo Smith of Scottsville; five grandchildren 12 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Larry O’Bryan, with burial in the Highland Memorial Park cemetery at Staffordsville.
Arrangements under the direction of the Preston Funeral Home of Paintsville.

William C. ‘Chuck’ Spencer
1958-2013
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 28, 11 a.m. at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home Chapel for William C. “Chuck” Spencer, 55, of Warsaw, Ind., who passed away Monday, March 25, at his residence.
Mr. Spencer was born Feb. 26, 1958 in Paintsville, son of Polly Click Spencer of Leander, and the late James Spencer. He was an over-the-road semi truck driver.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Tamra Walters Spencer of Warsaw; three sons, Chad (Heather) Spencer of Oil Springs, Neal Spencer and Chris (Leah) Spencer, both of Warsaw; three sisters, Veletta (Tommy) Morgan and Diana (Paul) Adams, both of Leander, and Felicia (Billy Jo) Bales of Denver; two brothers, Darrell Spencer of Swamp Branch, and Terry Neal (Beth) Spencer of Leander; and eight grandchildren.
Burial will be in the Spradlin cemetery in Paintsville.

Willa Dean Keel Hamilton
1933-2013
Funeral services were held Monday, March 25, 10:30 a.m. at the Busch Funeral Home in Parma, Ohio, for Willa Dean Keel Hamilton, of Parma, who passed away Thursday, March 21 at her residence.
Mrs. Hamilton was born March 30, 1933 in Johnson County, daughter of the late Rufus and Lucy DeLong Keel. She was an active member of Ridge Road United Church of Christ and Ellbrook Chapter #408, Order of Eastern Star.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Frank, Alvin and Randall Keel.
Surviving are her husband, Willis Hamilton of Parma; one brother, Stanley Keel; and one sister, Loraine Newberry.
Interment will be in the Brooklyn Heights cemetery in Cleveland, Ohio.
Arrangements under the direction of the Busch Funeral Home of Parma.
