Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 12, 11 a.m. at the Preston Funeral Chapel for Louise Burchett Adamaitis, 78, of Hollywood, Fla., who passed away Sunday, Jan. 6 in Rockwell, Texas.
Mrs. Adamaitis was born Dec. 15, 1924 in Stambaugh, daughter of the late Marion and Pearl Stambaugh Burchett. She was an assemblyline worker with Ceiling Mgf. Co. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Victor Adamaitis.
The service will be officiated by J. K. Caudill, with burial to follow in the Johnson County Memorial cemetery at Staffordsville.

Troy Shisler
1968-2013
Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 11, 1 p.m. at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Troy Shisler, 44, of Sadieville, who passed away Sunday, Jan. 6 in Lexington.
Mr. Shisler was born June 6, 1968 in Urbana, Ohio, son of Faye Laney Shisler and the late Robert Shisler. He was an auto mechanic with J & B. Auto.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Valorie Dye Shisler; one son, Cameron Lee Shisler; and one daughter, Carmen Marie Shisler, both of Sadieville; one brother, Robert Edward (Terri) Shisler of Offutt; and two sisters, Angelia (Joseph) Spillman of Waynesfield, Ohio, and Bobbi Jo (Sean) Ammons of Bellecenter, Ohio.
The service will be officiated by Steve Rose, with burial to follow in the Laney cemetery at Offutt.

James Orville McKenzie
1927-2013
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 5, 1 p.m. at the Little Mud Lick Church of God at Staffordsville, for James Orville McKenzie, 85, of Staffordsville, who passed away Wednesday, Jan. 2 at Paul B. Regional Medical Center in Paintsville.
Mr. McKenzie was born May 22, 1927 in Flat Gap, son of the late James Earl and Cloma Estep McKenzie. He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran; owner/operator of Thunderbolt Trucking; and a member of the Van Lear Masonic Lodge 885.
Surviving are his wife, Betty McKenzie of Staffordsville; two sons, James I. McKenzie of Wittensville, and Scott McKenzie of Frankfort; one daughter, Kathy Crigger of Staffordsville; four sisters, Donlyn Cantrell of Fort Saint Lucy, Fla., Betty Pelphrey of Dayton, Ohio, Phyllis Pelphrey and Gail Spradlin, both of Flat Gap; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by the Revs. Tobe Wheeler and Daniel Castle, with burial in the Johnson County Memorial cemetery at Staffordsville.

Delores Ann Fraley Treague
1942-2013
Delores Ann Fraley Treague, 70, of Pine River, Minn., passed away Saturday, Dec. 29 in Pine River.
Mrs. Treague was born Sept. 28, 1942 in Paintsville, daughter of the late Delmar and Gladia Ratliff Fraley.
Surviving are her husband, Arthur Treague of Pine River; one son, Richard Treague of Minnesota; one daughter, Joyce Ann Treague of Minnesota; three brothers, Carlos Fraley of Columbus, Ohio, Larry Fraley of Thelma, and Ronald Fraley of Swartz Creek, Mich.; three sisters, Rose Davis of Columbus, Marsha Meek of Thelma, and Janet Marlene Fraley of Paintsville; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Ruth Lee Ward

Graveside services were held Friday, Jan. 4, 11 a.m. at the Highland Memorial Park cemetery at Staffordsville, for Ruth Lee Ward, 98, of Paintsville, who passed away Tuesday, Jan. 1 at Riverview Health Care Center in Prestonsburg.
Ms. Ward was born Jan. 16, 1914 in Johnson County, daughter of the late John Morgan and Mary Catherine Sammons Ward. She was a homemaker.
The service was officiated by Jerry Scott.

Theodora Hurley Runyon
1921-2013
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 8, 11 a.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Theodora Runyon, 91, of Van Lear, who passed away Saturday, Jan. 5 at St. Joseph-Martin Hospital in Martin.
Mrs. Runyon was born Oct. 26, 1921 in Bluefield, W.Va., daughter of the late Theodore and Bess Daugherty Hurley. She was a secretary with a mining office. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bradford Runyon.
Surviving are four sons, Bradford Runyon Jr. of Nippa, Burton A. Runyon of Georgetown, Brian A. Runyon of Staffordsville, and Barry G. Runyon of Louisa; one daughter, Bradora C. Runyon Plummer of Van Lear; two sisters, Gene Adock of Bowling Green, and Elizabeth Halloran of Las Vegas, Nev.; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Bro. Ric Frazier, with burial in the Runyon Family cemetery at Nippa.

Mary Finetta Hamilton Mullins
1923-2012
Mary Finetta Hamilton Mullins, 89, of Paintsville passed away Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, resting peacefully at the Mountain Manor Nursing Home.
Mrs. Mullins was born Aug. 15, 1923 in Red Bush, the daughter of the late Charles Pleas and Macy Bond Hamilton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Basil Thomas Mullins; three brothers, Poe, Ellis, and Jack Hamilton; and one sister, Edra Hill.
She was a retired employee of the Big Sandy RECC. She was an active member of the DAR, serving a term as National Chair for the KSDAR. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and the Paintsville First United Methodist Church.
Surviving are three sons, Basil (Beth) Mullins of Lewisport, Thomas “Tinker” Mullins, and William “Tootsie” (Lynn) Mullins of Paintsville; one brother, Ford (Geneva) Hamilton of Red Bush; four grandchildren, Hunter and Michelle Mullins, both of Lexington, Meridith Mullins of Paintsville, and Macy (Trey) Covington of Greenville, S.C.; one step-grandchild, Lauren Stapleton of Lewisport; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at the chapel of the Paintsville Funeral Home, with Ken Spurrier officiating. Burial to following at the Milt Williams cemetery at Red Bush.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bobby Mullins Scholarship Fund or the First United Methodist Church of Paintsville.

Bill B. Sowards

Graveside services were held Sunday, Dec. 30, 11 a.m. at the Sowards cemetery at Flat Gap, for Bill B. Sowards, 76, of Flat Gap, who passed away Friday, Dec. 28 at his residence.
Mr. Sowards was born Feb. 17, 1936 in Myra, son of the late William and Ola Mullins Sowards. He was a self-employed logger; and a U.S. Army veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Loretta Burchett Sowards of Flat Gap; five sons, Rodney and Dwayne, both of Sitka, Jessie, Danny, and David Sowards, all of Flat Gap; two daughters, Paula Hopper of Florida and Rose Wheeler of Paintsville; two brothers, Micky and Paul Sowards, both of California; three sisters, Vivian Suttlemyre of Alma, Calif., Faye Twyman of California, and Nevelyn Stark of Alabama; and five grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Buell Webb.

Joe Ramey Jr.

Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 31, 1 p.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Joe Ramey Jr., 55, of Sitka, who passed away Friday, Dec. 28 at Highlands Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg.
Mr. Ramey was born June 24, 1957 in Johnson County, son of Betty Stambaugh Ramey of Sitka, and the late Joe Ramey Sr. He was a brick mason. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Cathy Jo Ramey.
Surviving are three sons, Joe Ramey III of Flat Gap, Shaun Ramey of Sandy Hook, and Justin Parker of Paintsville; one daughter, Cathy Jo Ramey of Paintsville; three brothers, Billy Ray Ramey of Staffordsville, George Lincoln Ramey of River, and Timmy Lee Ramey of Sitka; two sisters, Anna Marie Freeman of Hagerhill, and Sandra K. Todd of Martin County; and three grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Eugene Stambaugh, with burial in the Lakeview Memorial cemetery at Staffordsville.
