Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 29, 12 p.m. at the Thealka Free Will Baptist Church for Joyce Taylor, 75, of Thealka, who passed away Saturday, Aug. 25 at her residence.
Mrs. Taylor was born May 7, 1937 in Johnson County, daughter of the late Willie and Ida Collins Arms. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ernest “Buster” Taylor, and one brother, Sanford Arms; and three sisters, Virgie Wheeler, Dora Clark and Imagene Castle.
Surviving are five sons, Ernest Taylor of Morehead, Van Maurice Taylor of Staffordsville, Jerry Taylor and Gregory Allen Taylor, both of Thealka, and Christopher Columbus Taylor of Meally; four daughters, Brenda Sue Ratliff and Gwendolyn Joyce Spradlin, both of Thealka, Sherry Hill of Crockett, and Elizabeth Ann Arms of Paintsville; 22 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
The service will be officiated by Jeremy Spradlin, Hubert Slone, and Gary Blair, with burial in the Colvin-Taylor cemetery at Thealka.

Harkless Eugene Grimm
1960-2012
Graveside services were held Friday, Aug. 17, 11 a.m. at the Grimm cemetery at Flat Gap, for Harkless Eugene Grimm, 51, of Flat Gap, who passed away Tuesday, Aug. 14 in Lexington.
Mr. Grimm was born Oct. 9, 1960 in Springfield, Ohio, son of the late Francie Marion and Betty Grimm Longfellow. He was a truck driver for Specialty Design Products.
Surviving are his wife, Sheila Grimm; two step-sons, Joshua Allen and Eric Timothy Green, both of Ashland; one brother, Ralph Grimm of Flat Gap; and one sister, Tamatha Blum of Flat Gap.
The service was officiated by Travis Tackett.

Mollie Fay VanHoose
1934-2012
Graveside services were held Sunday, Aug. 26, 3 p.m., at the Daniels Family cemetery at Nippa, for Mollie Fay VanHoose, 78, of Paintsville, who passed away Saturday, Aug. 25 at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
Mrs. VanHoose was born May 16, 1934 in Wittensville, daughter of the late Curt and Numa Castle Daniels. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack VanHoose.
Surviving are two sons, Ricky Curt and Larry Lee VanHoose, both of Nippa; one daughter, Brenda Hazelett of Hager Hill; one half-brother, Curtis Daniels of Plain City, Ohio; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Kevin Hazelett and Steve Hazelett.

Robert E. “Bob” Daniels
1931-2012
Graveside funeral services will be Wednesday, Aug. 29, 11:30 a.m. at the Short Family cemetery at Meally, for Robert E. “Bob” Daniels, 81, of Olive Hill, formerly of Paintsville, who passed away Saturday, Aug. 25 at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.
Mr. Daniels was born Aug. 19, 1931 in Paintsville, son of the late Mitchell E. and Pauline Burton Daniels. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran and a retired reclamation engineer with Ashland Coal and Arch Coal Co.
He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Burletta Short Daniels; and one brother, Paul Vencil Daniels.
Surviving are his second wife, Rosemary (Collins) Stanley Daniels; two daughters, Dr. Kimberly Daniels (Dion C.) Williams of Morehead, and Lisa Jo Daniels (Ena Logan) of Denver, Colo.; brothers and sisters, Jerry and Dr. Joe Conley of Paintsville, Artha Lou (Paul) Music of Springfield, Ohio, Patricia (Larry) Sturgill and John (Nancy) Daniels, both of Sevierville, Tenn., Jim (Sara) Daniels and Tom (Vickie) Daniels, both of Paintsville; step-children, Regina Brown of Mt. Sterling, Karen Dehart of Olive Hill, Michael (Stephanie) Stanley of Grayson, Jim (Trish) Barker of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Wilbur (Lisa) Spurlock of Ashland; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
Military honors will be presented the Paintsville DAV Chapter 36.
The service will be officiated by John Daniels.

James E. Green
1931-2012
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 9, 1 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Northeast Chapel, in Columbus, Ohio, for James E. Green, 81, of Columbus, who passed away Saturday, Oct. 6.
Mr. Green was born Sept. 5, 1931 in Van Lear, son of the late Ora and Winnie Lee Castle Green. He was a U.S. Army veteran in the Korean War. He was also preceded in death by one son, Gregg Green.
Surviving are his wife, Phyllis Fulks Green of Columbus; one son, Todd Green; one daughter, Terry (Tom) Egan of St. Joseph, Mich.; one sister, Bobbie (Edsel) Rice of Flatwoods; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Interment will be in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Columbus.
Donald E. Grover
1942-2012
Graveside services were held Sunday, Oct. 7, 4 p.m. at the Lemaster Family cemetery at Leander, for Donald E. Grover, 70, of Paintsville, who passed away Friday, Oct. 5 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville.
Mr. Grover was born Aug. 30, 1942 in Bellmont County, Ohio, son of the late James and Marie French Grover.
Surviving are two sons, Christopher and Donald Grover, both of Lorain, Ohio; three daughters, Darla Grover of Lorain, and Shirley and Irene Grover, both of Akron, Ohio; six sisters, Sandy Livingston of Lorain, Shirley McLaughin of Bridgeport, Ohio, Janice Scotka of Bellaire, Ohio, Patty Kiser of Powhatan Point, Ohio, Mary Lemaster of Leander, and Brenda Urbanek of Concord Township of Painesville, Ohio; and five grandchildren.

James ‘Moe’ Livingston Austin

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 9, 11 a.m. at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel for James “Moe’ Livingston Austin, 74, of Paintsville, who passed away Saturday, Oct. 6 at Mountain Manor Nursing Home of Paintsville.
Mr. Austin was born March 3, 1938 in Van Lear, son of the late William Bryant and Josie Lee Caudill Austin. He was a general laborer with food service.
Surviving are one daughter, Josie Ann Williams of Portsmouth, Ohio; one brother, Michael Austin of Paintsville; three sisters, Dosha Clemons of Hager Hill, Judy Jenkins of Paintsville, and Nora Francis Morgan of Columbus, Ohio; and three grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Joe Adkins, with burial in the Highland Memorial cemetery at Staffordsville.

Katherine Kirk Castle

Memorial services were held Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2 p.m. at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Katherine Kirk Castle, 64, of Paintsville, who passed away Sunday, Oct. 7 at her residence.
Mr. Castle was born November 30, 1947 in Twenty-Nine Palms, Calif., daughter of the late Hubert and Deloris Livingston Gambill. She was a housewife.
Surviving are three daughters, Sherri Kirk of Lancaster, Terie Walker of Lexington, and Tina Burkett of Louisville; one brother, Mike Gambill of Prestonsburg; one sister, Virginia Gambill of Paintsville; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Paul Miller
1937-2012
Funeral services were held Sunday, Oct. 7, 2 p.m. at the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel for Paul Miller, 75, of Nippa, who passed away Thursday, Oct. 4 at his residence.
Mr. Miller was born May 6, 1937 in Floyd County, son of the late Malcolm and Rhoda Miller. He was a member of the Old Regular Baptist faith. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Lewis, Bud, Terry and Gary Miller; and two sisters, Katie Miller and Patsy Spencer.
Surviving are his wife, Eugenia Prater Miller of Nippa; one son, Paul Edward (Miranda) Miller of Printer; seven daughters, Novela (Justin) Young of Staffordsville, Rodella (Billy) Stacy of Warfield, Linda Rasnake, Cindy Jordan, Mary Ann Fwoverland, Vickie Brown and Tenny Miller, all of Indiana; one brother, Jack Miller of Indiana; three sisters, Judy Whitaker of Maytown, Gail Blevins of Ohio, and Sue Sharp of Indiana; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Abey Howell and Chuckie Hall, with burial in the Miller cemetery at Royalton.
