Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 8, 1 p.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for John Dutton Jr., 83, of River, who passed away Sunday, Aug. 5 at Highlands Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg.
Mr. Dutton was born July 1, 1929 in Johnson County, son of the late John Sr. and Nelva Pack Dutton. He was a 50+ yr. member of Local Labors Union and a member of the Chestnut Grove Enterprise Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Rachel Booth Dutton of River; three sons, John (Teresa) Dutton III of Tomahawk, Mark (Tressia) Dutton and Kirby (Anne) Dutton, both of River; two daughters, Charlotte (Virgil) Butcher of Wittensville, and Tammy (Gary) Trotter of Dresden, Ohio; one brother, George Dutton of Washington; two sisters, Eula Faye Blevins of St. Paris, Ohio, and Gracie Parker of Springfield, Ohio; and nine grandchildren.
The service will be officiated by Terry Conley, with burial to follow in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville.

Aileen Bradbury
1926-2012
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 6, 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church for Aileen Bradbury, 86, of Paintsville, who passed away Thursday, Aug. 2 at her residence.
Mrs. Bradbury was born Feb. 5, 1926 in Barboursville, W. Va., daughter of the late General and Lula Virginia Davis Adkins. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her husband, Frelan Bradbury; and sister-in-law, Joann Adkins.
The service was officiated by Dr. Art Beasley, with burial in the Oak Lawn cemetery at Barboursville.

Dallas Patrick
1928-2012
Graveside memorial services were held Monday, Aug. 6, 11 a.m. at the Kentucky Veterans cemetery Northeast in Greenup County, for Dallas Patrick, 83, of Wurtland, who passed away Thursday, Aug. 2.
Mr. Patrick was born Sept. 29, 1928 in Salyersville, son of the late Steve Patrick and Vernie Patrick Arnett. He was a retired U. S. Army Korean War and Vietnam veteran; and a coal mine foreman.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil and Dude.
Surviving are his companion, Juanita Gullett of Flatwoods; and one brother, Mitchell (Teenie) Patrick of Oil Springs.
Military honors were conducted by the United States Army and the Honor Guard of the VFW Post #8850 of Ironton, Ohio.

Denis Akers
1934-2012
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 8, 1 p.m. at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Denis Akers, 77, of Paintsville, who passed away Sunday, Aug. 5 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville.
Mr. Akers was born Sept. 6, 1934 in Craynor, son of the late Sie and Rosie Howell Akers. He was a retired lineman with Ford Motor Company. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Viola Calhoun Akers.
Surviving are one son, Larry Akers of Paintsville; one daughter, Lena Gullett of Staffordsville; one brother, Quintin Akers of Flint, Mich.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The service will be officiated by Lee Music, with burial in the Highland Memorial cemetery at Staffordsville.

Lee Elliot Adams
1934-2012
Funeral services were held Sunday, Aug. 5, 11 a.m. at the Cold Springs United Baptist Church at Flat Gap, for Lee Elliot Adams, 78, of Flat Gap, who passed away Friday, Aug. 3 at his residence.
Mr. Adams was born June 25, 1934 in Van Lear, son of the late Thurman Kendrick and Ester Rigsby Adams. He was a school bus driver for the Johnson County school system.
Surviving are his wife, Gladys Hunt Adams of Flat Gap; one son, James Lee (Peggy) Adams of Paintsville; four brothers, Earl Eugene, Eulas and Ronnie Adams, all of Flat Gap, and Johnnie Adams of Oil Springs; one sister, Phyllis Shebastian of Paris; one granddaughter; one grandson; and one great-granddaughter.
The service was officiated by Phillip Caudill, Allen Fannin, Paul Ratliff, and Robert Blanton, with burial in the Patty Flat cemetery at Fuget.

William David Hensley

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 7, 11 a.m. at the Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel for William David Hensley, 71, of Paintsville, who passed away Saturday, Aug. 4 at Prestonsburg Health Care Center in Prestonsburg.
Mr. Hensley was born Sept. 14, 1940 in Huntington, W. Va., son of the late Herman and Bessie Perry Hensley. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Blair Hensley.
Surviving is his brother, Jerry Hensley of Columbus, Ohio.
Burial will be in the Staffordsville Church cemetery at Staffordsville.

Gervie Moore Stumbo

Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 31, 11 a.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Gervie Moore Stumbo, 98, of Paintsville, who passed away Saturday, July 28 at her residence.
Mrs. Stumbo was born April 8, 1914 in Floyd County, daughter of the late Hawk and Samantha Chaffins Moore. She was a homemaker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Erman Buck Stumbo; two grandsons, Christopher and Justin Hopkins.
Surviving are two sons, Dickie Stumbo of Paintsville and Donnie Mac Stumbo of Prestonsburg; two daughters, Susan Stumbo Jones of Paintsville and June Hopkins of McDowell; one brother, Alton Jack Moore of Marion, Ohio; one sister, Ida Wetzig of Lebanon, Ohio; 10 grandchildren, six step-grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, eight step-great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Slade Stinson, with burial in the Stumbo Family cemetery at Minnie.

Juanita Ellen Staniford Chaney

Graveside services were held Sunday, July 29, 2 p.m. at the Staniford Family cemetery at Boons Camp, for Juanita Ellen Staniford Chaney, 63, of Paintsville, who passed away Saturday, July 28.
Mrs. Chaney was born Sept. 13, 1948 in Logan, W. Va., daughter of the late Grant and Alice Stepp Staniford.
Surviving are her husband, Arthur Curtis Lewis Chaney of Paintsville; and one brother, James Staniford of Baltimore, Md.
The service was officiated by Travis Tackett.

Margaret Lilly Meade

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 27, 11 a.m. at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home Chapel for Margaret Lilly Meade, infant daughter of Lisa and Todd Meade of Staffordsville, who passed away Monday, July 23 at St. Joseph East Hospital in Lexington.
Surviving in addition to her parents are four sisters, Maddison, Abbey, Kitty and Chloe Meade; maternal grandparents, Yon and Tice Cox of Foster; paternal grandparents, Harold Meade of Paintsville and Anne and Jim Wilson, also of Paintsville; paternal great-grandparents, Virginia Phillips of Ft. Myers, Fla., and James Meade of Okeechobee, Fla.
The service will be officiated by William Staten, with burial in the Highland Memorial Park cemetery at Staffordsville.
