Funeral services were held Friday, March 23, 10 a.m. at the David C. Brown Funeral Home in Belleville, Mich., for Edwin “Eddie” Spencer, 68, of Belleville, who passed away Monday, March 19 at his residence.
Mr. Spencer was born Jan. 19, 1944 in McKee, son of the late Perry and Dorothy Sheperd Spencer. He was retired from GM Ypsilanti Hydromatic plant and a member of the U. A. W. Local 735.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Patty Rosiek.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Lyons Spencer of Belleville; three sons, Paul and Jeff Spencer, both of Belleville, and Perry (Diane) Spencer of Ypsilanti; one sister, Corrina Patrick of Winchester; one brother, Kenneth Spencer of Monroe, Ohio; and four grandchildren.
Interment was in the Denton cemetery in Belleville.

Mary Alice Castle Arms
1941-2012
Funeral services were held Monday, April 23, 2 p.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Mary Alice Castle Arms, 71, of Oil Springs, who passed away Friday, April 20 at her residence.
Mrs. Arms was born Feb. 15, 1941 in Johnson County, daughter of the late Jayola and Catherine Stambaugh Castle. She was a factory worker.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Newte and Jimmy Castle; four sisters, Madge Roberts, Marie Lowe, Lizzie Fannin, and Betty Borders; and one great-grandson, Justin Bernett Arms.
Surviving are her husband, Bernett Arms of Oil Springs; one son, Johnny Sizemore of Oil Springs; three daughters, Edna Blanton of Oil Springs, Berniece Fitzpatrick of Asa Creek, and Tammie Click of Swamp Branch; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Joe Scott and Roger Thornsbury, with burial in the Arms cemetery at Oil Springs.

Roubena Hale Staten
1928-2012
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 24, 11 a.m. at the Old Union United Baptist Church at Emily Creek, for Roubena Hale Staten, 84, of Lovely, who passed away Saturday, April 21 at her residence.
Mrs. Staten was born Jan. 30, 1928 in Bias, W. Va., daughter of the late Bertha Estep Hale and E. E. “Boy” Hale.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Dean Staten; one son, Robert Staten; one brother, James Hale; four sisters, Lucille Stepp, Lucy Spence, Rosalea Hale and Reba Harmon.
Surviving are her daughter, Debra (Raymond) Carter of Lovely; two sons, Kevin and Gary Staten, both of Lovely; two brothers, Robert Hale of Ironton, Ohio and John W. Hale of Pilgrim; one sister, Mildred Crum of Van Lear; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Terry Harmon, with burial in the Staten Family cemetery at Pilgrim.

Edna Fay ‘Patty’ Blanton
1942-2012
Funeral services were held Sunday, April 22, 1 p.m. at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Edna Fay “Patty” Blanton, 69, of Paintsville, who passed away Thursday, April 19 at her residence.
Mrs. Blanton was born June 28, 1942 at Riceville, daughter of the late Hebern and Mary Blair Scott.
Surviving are her husband, Chester Blanton of Paintsville; three sons, Tony and Casey Blanton, both of Paintsville, and Terry Blanton of Martin; two daughters, Nadene Nelson of Dickson, Tenn., and Debbie Blanton of North Manchester, Ind.; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Roger Hill, with burial in the Manford Blanton cemetery at Oil Springs.

Harold Daniel Preston
1947-2012
Funeral services were held, Sunday, April 22, 2 p.m. at the Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel for Harold Daniel “Danny” Preston, 64, of Lake Butler, Fla., who passed away Wed., April 18 at his residence.
Mr. Preston was born June 15, 1947 in Paintsville, son of the late Roscoe Edward and Mary Louise Daniel Preston. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Surviving are his son, Wade Daniel Preston of Lake Butler; one daughter, Elizabeth Nicole Jenson of Prestonsburg; one sister, Susan Ward of West Van Lear; and five grandchildren; and Betty Gillium
Military services were conducted by the Chapter 18 DAV of Auxier.
The service was officiated by Elder Dewey Mack Mullins and Johnny Mollette, with inurnment to be held Wednesday, April 25, 11 a.m. at the Davis Family cemetery at Davis Branch.

Luella Buethner Bentrup
1920-2012
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 24, 1 p.m. at the Milward Funeral Directors - Southland, for Luella Buethner Bentrup, 91, of Lexington, formerly of Johnson County, who passed away Thursday, April 19.
Mrs. Bentrup was born Aug. 25, 1920 in Trail County, N. D., daughter of the late Gustav and Lydia Buethner. She graduated at the St. John’s Hospital School of Nursing in Fargo, N. D. She worked at the Lutheran Hospital in Bemidji, Minn., and she was also a hospice volunteer in Boyle and Johnson County.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Elroy Buethner; and two sisters, Roberta Buethner and Esther Irene Weinlaeder.
Surviving are her husband, Rolland Bentrup of Lexington; one son, Bob (Sylvia) Aker; a sister, Rosanna Smith; three step-children, Daniel and Stephen Bentrup and Evon Thornton; and two grandchildren.
Burial followed at the Camp Nelson National Cemetery.

William Douglas Arrowood
1958-2012
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 25, 2 p.m. at the Arrowood Family cemetery at River, for William Douglas Arrowood, 53, of River, who passed away Monday, April 23 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville.
Mr. Arrowood was born Aug. 6, 1958 in Columbus, Ohio, son of the late William and Imogene Wells Arrowood. He was self-employed.
Surviving are three brothers, Paul Arrowood of Tutor Key, and David and Roger Arrowood, both of River; five sisters, Carla Arms and Karen Daniels, both of Paintsville, Debbie Howard of Salyersville, Patty Wallen of Circleville, Ohio, and Kaye Joseph of Staffordsville.
The service will be officiated by A. J. Johnson.

Izora Ruth Hill
1957-2012
Funeral services were held Sunday, Aug. 5, 2 p.m. at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home Chapel for Izora Ruth Hill, 54, of Paintsville, who passed away Thursday, Aug. 2 at her residence.
Mrs. Hill was born Oct. 2, 1957 in Johnson County, daughter of the late Bill and Florine Daniels Hughes. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Doug Daniels, Wayne Hughes, John Michael Hughes and Rick Hughes; and one sister, Kathy Ward.
Surviving are her husband, Alan Hill; and three sisters, Betty Keel, Patricia Gaye Justice, and Deidra Hughes, all of Paintsville.
The service was officiated by John Ramey.
