Funeral services were held Saturday, April 7, 2 p.m. at the Highland Memorial Funeral Chapel at Staffordsville for Michael Eugene Patrick, 63, of Frankfort, who passed away Saturday, March 31 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Patrick was born Feb. 18, 1949 in Johnson County, son of the late Green Patrick and Gladys Burke Patrick Preston. He was barber.
He was also preceded in death by his sister Maryanna Wells.
Surviving are three sons, Kyle and Kevin Patrick both of Los Angeles, Calif. and Ryan Patrick of Lafayette, Ind.; one sister, Sharon Nighbert of Lexington; one grandchild.
The service was officiated by Ronnie Spriggs, with burial in Highland Memorial Park cemetery at Staffordsville.

Effie Preston
1941-2012
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 12, 11 a.m. at the Old Rt. 3 Independent Baptist Church for Effie Preston, 71, of Inez, who passed away Tuesday, April 10 at her residence.
Mrs. Preston was born Feb. 13, 1941 in Martin County, daughter of the late Ransom and Hazel Chaffins Bowen. She was also preceded in death by one brother, William Bowen.
Surviving are her husband, Dennie Preston of Inez; three daughters, Virginia Johnson of Louisa, Loretta Nelson and Billie Muncy, both of Inez; two brothers, Randall Bowen of Tomahawk and Sherman Thomas Bowen of Inez; two sisters, Leona Maynard of Inez and Charity McCoy of Debord; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The service will be officiated by Granville Sweeney, with burial to follow in the Johnson-Bowen cemetery on Cassell Branch.

Services were held Friday, April 6, 1 p.m. at the Wilder Family cemetery at Flat Gap for Jordan Aaron Miller, infant, who passed away Tuesday, April 3 at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
Surviving are his parents, Joey and Jessica Wilder Miller of Flat Gap; paternal grandparents, Guy and Darlene Miller of Jackson; maternal grandparents, David and Linda Wilder of Flat Gap; paternal great-grandparent, Annette Napier of Jackson; maternal great-parents, Opal Wilder of Middlesboro and Danny Joe Stewart of Ohio.

Mildred Mollette

Funeral services were held Monday, April 9, 11 a.m. at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Mildred Mollette, 89, of Offutt, who passed away Thursday, April 5 at Mountain Manor Nursing Facility in Paintsville.
Ms. Mollette was born Aug. 22, 1923 at Offutt, daughter of the late Ali and Rachel Spears Mollette. She was a teacher with the Johnson County School system.
Surviving is one sister, Stella Ramey of Springfield, Ohio.
The service was officiated by Claude Mollette, with burial in the Mollette cemetery at Offutt.

Retha Loretta Mollette

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 12, 11 a.m at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home Chapel for Retha Loretta Mollette, 88, of Van Lear, who passed away Monday, April 9 at Sayre Christian Nursing Home in Lexington.
Mrs. Mollette was born May 6, 1923 in Pike County, daughter of the late Charles Edward Hayburn and Elsie Mae Fleeming. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Mollette; one daughter, Anita Hayburn; and one sister, Marie Watkins.
Surviving are one daughter, Geraldine (Delmadge) Fannin of Lexington; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The service will be officiated by Tommy Reynolds, with burial to follow in the Highland Memorial cemetery at Staffordsville.

Boyd Oliver Preston II

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 31, 1 p.m. at the Southside Free Will Baptist Church for Boyd Oliver Preston II, 84, of Staffordsville, who passed away Tuesday, March 27 at Mountain Manor Nursing Home in Paintsville.
Mr. Preston was born July 23, 1927, son of the late Albert Sidney “Bird” and Mahala Trimble Preston. He was part owner of Preston and Blair Dairy Distributors; and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Walta Lee Daniel Preston.
Surviving are one son, Bryd Preston III of Phoenix, Ariz.; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 30, 5-9 p.m. and Saturday, March 31, 9 a.m.
The service will be officiated by the Rev. Wayne Price, with burial following in the Preston cemetery at Staffordsville.

Esta Mahan

Funeral services were held Thursday, March 29, 11 a.m. at the Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel for Esta Mahan, 96, of Staffordsville, who passed away Monday, March 26 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville.
Mr. Mahan was born Aug. 7, 1915 in Morgan County, Ky., daughter of the late Ira and Rosie Cook Jenkins. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are one son, James Walter (Lina) Mahan; and her granddaughter, Jackie Mahan, all of Staffordsville.
The service was officiated by John G. Pelphrey and Eulas Adams, with burial in the Mahan cemetery at Staffordsville.

James Austin Long

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 28, 11 a.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for James Austin Long, 69, of Meally, who passed away Sunday, March 25 at Highlands Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg.
Mr. Long was born Feb. 20, 1943 in Alleghany County, Va., son of the late Charles and Agnes Sprouse Long. He was a grocery manager, and a member of the U. S. Army Reserves.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers, William Henry Long, Charles Edward Long, and Lewis Evans Long.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Conley Long of Meally; one son, James Edward Long; and one daughter, Michelle Lee Long, both of Meally; and three grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Jimmy Price and Roger Hill, with burial following in the Conley cemetery at Staffordsville.
