Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 27, 1 p.m. at the Paintsville First Church of God for Kenneth Edwin Powers, 61, of East Point, who passed away Monday, Jan. 23 at his residence.
Mr. Powers was born Sept. 7, 1950 in Thayer, Kansas, son of the late Rabern and Marie Fern Umbarger Powers. He was a federal reclamation inspector.
Surviving are his wife, Mistcha “Misty” Wells Powers of East Point; one daughter, Misty (Christopher) Green of Paducah; four brothers, Glen (Kay) and Milton (Jo) Powers, both of Afton, Okla., James (Rachel) Powers of Chanute, Kansas, and Steven (Patty) Powers of Thayer; one sister, Judy (Conrad) Froehlich of Chanute; and one grandson, Conrad B. Green.
Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 26, 4 p.m.-9 p.m. and Friday, Jan. 27, 9 a.m. at the Paintsville Funeral Home.
The service will be officiated by the Rev. Dan Heaberlin, with burial to follow in the Lakeview Memorial cemetery at Staffordsville.

Ella Rose Daniel

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 24, 1 p.m. at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Ella Rose Daniel, 80, of Thelma, who passed away Sunday, Jan. 22 at Mountain Manor Nursing Facility in Paintsville.
Mrs. Daniel was born Jan. 12, 1932 at Thelma, daughter of the late Dan and Anna Lee Johnson Gambill. She was a finance officer with the Johnson County School system.
Surviving are one brother, James R. Gambill of Paintsville; two sisters, Danna Hamilton of Thelma, and Madge Williams of Carmel Valley, Calif.
The service was officiated by Jeremy Estep and John Hatton, with burial in the Dan Gambill cemetery at Thelma.

Keenan “Happy” Rowland

Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 22, 1 p.m. at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home Chapel for Keenan “Happy” Rowland, 51, of Hager Hill, who passed away Thursday, Jan. 19 at his residence.
Mr. Rowland was born June 24, 1960, son of the late Creval and Ruth Gullett Rowland.
Surviving are two daughters, Misty Hunt of Prestonsburg and Jamie Baker of Hazard; six brothers, Mike Rowland of Prestonsburg, Gary and Henry Rowland, both of Hager Hill, Charlie Rowland of Wheelwright, and Clifford and Rick Rowland, both of Paintsville; one sister, Jenny Burkhalter of Hazard; and one granddaughter.
The service was officiated by Larry Blair, with burial in the Adams cemetery at Hager Hill.

Roger Cavins
1956-2012
Roger Cavins, 55, of Sitka, passed away Monday, Jan. 23 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
Mr. Cavins was born Oct. 13, 1956 in Johnson County, son of the late Allen Gene and Freda Phelps Cavins.
Surviving are his wife, Karen Vanhoose Cavins of Sitka; one son, Roger Cavins of Hager Hill; two daughters, Andrea Cavins of Prestonsburg, and Savannah Cavins of Sitka; one brother, Phillip Cavins of Van Lear; two sisters, Nikki Palmer of Hager Hill, and Terri Bailey of Prestonsburg.

Leigh Wilburn
1930-2012
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 26, 1 p.m. at the Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel for Leigh Wilburn, 81, of Gallipolis, Ohio, formerly of Johnson County, who passed away Sunday, Jan. 22 at the Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis.
Mrs. Wilburn was born Oct. 11, 1930 in Johnson County, daughter of the late John Lloyd and Mary Howard Williams. She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Wilburn; one daughter, Valerie Paulette Tackett; three brothers and three sisters.
Surviving are one son, Dana (Mary) Lyons of Paintsville; one daughter, Sandy McCreedy of Gallipolis; two granddaughters, one grandson; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2-9 p.m. and Thursday, Jan. 26, 9 a.m.
The service will be officiated by Elder Kenny Pelphrey, with burial to follow in the Dixon cemetery at Staffordsville.

Charles David Blair

Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 24, 11 a.m. at Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Charles David Blair, 52, of Staffordsville, who passed away Wednesday, Feb. 22 at his residence.
Mr. Blair was born Sept. 14, 1959 in Johnson County, son of Judy Salyers Blair of Paintsville and the late Charles Blair. He was a coal miner with Booth Energy.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Preston Blair of Staffordsville; two step-daughters, Michelle Fyffe (partner, Krisanne Mullins) of Lexington, and Amy (Brian) Music of Prestonsburg; two brothers, Lindsey Blair of Oil Springs and Christopher Blair of Kansas; one sister, Brenda Chandler of Paintsville; and one granddaughter.
The service will be officiated by Denvil Mollette, with burial following in the Lakeview Memorial cemetery at Staffordsville.

Kermit Franklin Baldridge Jr.
1944-2012
Graveside services were held Wednesday, Feb. 22, 11 a.m. at the Richmond Memorial cemetery in Prestonsburg for Kermit Franklin Baldridge Jr., 67, of Paintsville, who passed away Sunday, Feb. 19 at Pikeville Medical Center.
Mr. Baldridge was born March 17, 1944 in Paintsville, son of the late Mary Lorraine Williams and Kermit F. Baldridge Sr. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Donald “Donnie” Dewey Baldridge.
He was a former yardmaster with CSX Railroad; and of the Methodist faith.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Sue Montgomery Baldridge of Paintsville; two sons, Kermit F. (Robin) Baldridge III of Paintsville, and Paul Michael Baldridge of Lexington; two sisters, Patricia “Pat” Carolene (David W.) Allen and Judith Ann “Judy” Rowe, both of Prestonsburg.
The service was officiated by Bobby Neal Osborne.

Pauline Bayes Hill

Memorial services were held Saturday, Feb. 18, 11 a.m. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home in Fairborn, Ohio, for Pauline Bayes Hill, 82, of Fairborn, who passed away Wednesday, Feb. 8.
Mrs. Hill was born Feb. 3, 1930 in Keaton, daughter of the late Emery and Nancy Ferguson Hamilton. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Mitchell Bayes, and second husband, Ellis Hill; one son, Michael Bayes; and three sisters, Gertrude, Monnie, and Elsie.
Surviving are three sons, Jim ( Bev) Bayes of Clayton, Ohio, Harold (Bobbie Jean) Bayes of Louisville, and Allen (Colleen) Bayes of Texas; one brother, James (Judy) Hamilton of Keaton; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
