Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 12, 11 a.m. at the Adkins Funeral Home in Enon, Ohio, for Chorena “CoraLee” Long, 73, of Enon, who passed away Tuesday, Nov. 8 in Dayton, Ohio.
Mrs. Long was born Jan. 10, 1938 in Litha, daughter of the late Kernie and Myrtle Howard.
She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Imogene Pennington, Alva Howard, Pansy Mae Howard, Leslie Vernon Howard, Vaughn Dell Howard, Larry Jerial Howard, and Stanley Howard.
Surviving are her husband, John Long of Enon; two daughters, Sheila (Roger) Brewer of Springfield, Ohio, and Yolanda (Jason) Schiely of Enon; two sons, Marty Long of Enon, and Travis (Kristen) Long of Grand Forks, North Dakota; two sisters, Roxie Alice Pennington and Gloria Trusty; six brothers, Thomas O’Henry Howard, Clyde Howard, Wilmer Howard, Stephen Howard, Darrel Pierce Howard, and Eddie Martin Howard; and eight grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 11, 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will follow the service in the Enon Cemetery.

Gertrude Caudill Brown
1922-2011
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, Nov. 12, 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. at the Mayo Methodist Church in Paintsville, for Gertrude Caudill Brown, 89, of Paintsville, who passed away Sunday, Oct. 16 at Mountain Manor.
Mrs. Brown was born May 16, 1922 in Salyersville, daughter of the late Baxter and Grace Caudill. Her great-grandfather, L. F. Caudill was the founder of many churches in Magoffin County.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Frances and Joe Caudill.
Surviving are one son, Felix (Lucia) Brown of Lexington; one daughter, Judith Erickson (Tim Tafoya) of Paintsville.
She was the grandmother of Anne-Marie Neisz, Jeremy Brown, and Nikki (Danny) May, all of Lexington.
Ms. Brown also was the proud great-grandmother of Mekenzie Neisz, Zeke, Gus and Jeb Brown, Madeline and Ben May, all of Lexington.
Pamela Irene Compton
1947-2011
Pamela Irene Compton, 64, of Paintsville, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2011 at Cabell Huntington Hospital.
She was born February 6, 1947 in Pikeville, the daughter of the late Chester Paul and Irene Belle Little Compton. She was also preceded in death by her husband Dennis Burbach. Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Paul Kevin “P.K.” Compton and Patricia Compton of Lexington; a sister and brother-in-law, Tammy and Joshua Ball of River; a son and daughter-in-law Jeffrey and Stacey Jarrell of Bradenton, Fla. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; nieces Chelsea Compton and Allison Compton of Lexington, and Whitney Price of Louisa; a nephew Zac Horne of Lexington; two great nephews, which she thought of as grandchildren, Kyle and Riley Price of Louisa; and a special friend and neighbor, Mertie Belle Hamilton of Paintsville.
Pamela was executive director of the United Way of Eastern Kentucky. During her 15 years of service, she, with the help of a dedicated board of directors, raised more than $1 million for various non-profit organizations throughout the region.
Pamela loved Christmas and would proudly display her decorations beginning Nov. 1 through Valentine’s Day each year. With this, a celebration of Pamela’s life will be held on Saturday, November 11 from noon to 6 p.m. at her home on 508 Walnut Avenue in Paintsville.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Pamela’s honor to the United Way of Eastern Kentucky at PO Box 1446, Prestonsburg, Ky. 41653.
Cecil Kimbleton
1920-2011
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 8, 12 p.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home for Cecil Kimbleton, 91, of Paintsville, who passed away Saturday, Nov. 5 at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
Mr. Kimbleton was born July 1, 1920 in Johnson County, son of the late James M. and Sara Margaret Skeens Kimbleton.
He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran and an electrical engineer.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Helen Johnson Kimbleton; two sisters, Ora Boleyn and Effilee Kimbleton; three brothers, Corvin and Wayne, and Kern Kimbleton; one step-brother, Frank Blevins Jr.
Surviving is one son, Dr. Dennis (Sharon) Kimbleton of North Carolina; four daughters, Elaine Kimbleton and Cynthia Carlson, both of New York, and Gail Kachnycz and Janet Grace, both of Pennsylvania; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Ken Spurrier, with burial in the Kimbleton Family cemetery at Staffordsville.

Emma Sue Vanhoose
Emma Sue Vanhoose, 76, formerly of Paintsville, passed away Saturday, Oct. 29 at Mount Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
She was the daughter of the late Ray and Josephine Vanhoose.
Surviving are five daughters, Regina Waits, Judy Montgomery, Alice Tackett, Gladys Taylor and Robin Blevins; one son, Jimmy Tackett; three sisters, Jewell Johnson, Wanda Blanton, and Leatrice Miller; three brothers, Con, Gary, and Carrie Vanhoose; 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Burial was in the Harrison Township cemetery in South Bloomfield, Ohio, Wednesday, Nov. 2, 11 a.m.

John W. Blanton
1935-2011
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 9, 11 a.m. for John W. Blanton, 76, of Staffordsville, at the Little Mud Lick Church of God at Staffordsville, who passed away Sunday, Nov. 6 at his residence.
Mr. Blanton was born Oct. 22, 1935 at Fuget, son of the late Charlie and Emma McKenzie Blanton. He was a wholesale business owner; and a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are his wife, Juanita Lemaster Blanton of Staffordsville; one son, John A. (Teresa) Blanton of Staffordsville; two daughters, Susan Blanton of Lexington and Sandy Brown of Staffordsville; one brother, George “Bud” Blanton of Flat Gap; two sisters, Mary E. Baldwin and Nell Pelfrey, both of Staffordsville; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Burial will be in the Lakeview Memorial cemetery at Staffordsville.

Linda K. Johnson
1954-2011
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 8, 1 p.m. at the Wheelwright Free Will Baptist Church for Linda K. Johnson, 56, of Wheelwright, who passed away Friday, Nov. 4 at the Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
Mrs. Johnson was born Nov. 13, 1954 in Floyd County, daughter of the late Billy and Opal Staton Wright. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Randall Johnson.
She was a nurses aid for over 23 years.
Surviving are one daughter, Sherry (Doug) Blevins of West Van Lear; one son, Robbie (Mary) Wright of Prestonsburg; two brothers, Tommy (Verdie) Wright of River and Barry Tackett of Richmond; two sisters, Sandy (Todd) Thornsbury of Weeksbury and Janice (Luke) Jones of Wheelwright; and seven grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Louie Ferrari and Ray Grindstaff, with burial in the Wright Family cemetery at Wheelwright.

Robert Wade ‘Bobby’ Conley
1948-2011
Funeral services were held Sunday, Nov. 6, 3 p.m. at the Oil Springs Free Will Baptist Church for Robert Wade “Bobby” Conley, 63, of Paintsville, who passed away Friday, Nov. 4 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville.
Mr. Conley was born June 5, 1948 in Johnson County, son of the late Forest Conley Jr. He was a laborer with the Calvary cemetery in Lexington.
Surviving is one daughter, Sophia Lashae (James) Bevins of Morgan County.
The service was officiated by Chad Blair, with burial in the Highland Memorial Park cemetery at Staffordsville.
