Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 22, 12 p.m. at the Nelson Frazier Funeral Home in Martin, for Brenda W. Cook, 61, of East Point, who passed away Monday, Sept. 19 at her residence.
Mrs. Cook was born March 10, 1950 in Hillsborough, daughter of Donald and Bessie Helphenstine of East Point.
She was a homemaker and a member of the East Point Church of Christ.
Surviving in addition to her parents are her husband, Thomas Henry Cook Sr. of East Point; two sons, Thomas Cook II of East Point, and Timothy William Cook of Staffordsville; one daughter, Kandi Holbrook of Staffordsville; three brothers, Donald Wilcox Jr., and Todd Wilcox, both of East Point, and Randall Wilcox of Nicholas County; three sisters, Pam Nelson and Debbie Wilcox, both of East Point, and Stephanie Hill of Staffordsville; and four grandchildren.
The service will be officiated by Josh Akers, with burial in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville.

Doris E. Skaggs
1944-2011
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 5, 11 a.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Doris E. Skaggs, 67, of Lowmansville, who passed away Sunday, Oct. 2 at the Community Hospice Center in Ashland.
Mrs. Skaggs was born June 13, 1944 in Johnson County, daughter of the late Hendrick and Myrtle Daniels Spradlin. She was a cosmetologist.
Surviving are her husband, David Skaggs of Lowmansville; one son, Phillip R. (Allison) Skaggs of Florida; one daughter, Paula (Joseph) Sinatra of Sharon Springs, New York; four brothers, Kenneth Spradlin of Cincinnati, Ohio, Charles, Larry, and Ricky Spradlin, all of Johnson County; and three sisters, Ruth Huff of Georgia, Nancy Keeton of West Virginia, and Brenda Maynard of Georgia.
The service was officiated by Darin Rice and Willie Gene Hayes, with burial in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville.

Alverta Hensley
1921-2011
Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 7, 1 p.m. at the Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel for Alverta Hensley, 90, of Martha, who passed away Tuesday, Oct. 4 at her residence.
Mrs. Hensley was born Feb. 12, 1921 at Tomahawk, daughter of the late James L. and Mary Sammons Mollett. She was a homemaker.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ray Hensley.
Surviving are two sons, Daniel Ray and Roger Hensley, both of Martha; two daughters, Joan Faye Bruce of Van Lear, and Jewell Gaye Ferguson of West Liberty; three brothers, Arthur Paul and William Granville Mollett, both of Springfield, Ohio, and Oscar Mollett of Tomahawk; five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
The service will be officiated by Ben Wright, with burial in the Hensley Family cemetery at Martha.

Darlene Tackett Goble
1946-2011
Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 6, 1 p.m. at the West Van Lear Missionary Baptist Church in West Van Lear, for Darlene Tackett Goble, 65, of Ashland, who passed away Sunday, Oct. 2 at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Ashland.
Mrs. Goble was born Jan. 15, 1946 in Johnson County, daughter of the late Ed and Velma Blanton Tackett.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Goble; and one brother, Bo Tackett.
Surviving are two daughters, Melissa Goble of Ashland, and Monique Click of Hager Hill; three brothers, Freddie Tackett of Richmond, Eddie Tackett of Winchester, and Johnny Tackett of Allen; four sisters, Phyllis May of Paintsville, Cornellia Mullins of Keaton, and Shelbie Banks and Patricia Butcher, both of Van Lear; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Donnie Witten, with burial in the Goble Family cemetery at Hager Hill.

Lillie Mae Daniels

Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 7, 11 a.m. at the Buffalo United Baptist Church for Lillie Mae Daniels, 82, of Boons Camp, who passed away Monday, Oct. 3 at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
Mrs. Daniels was born Sept. 21, 1929 in Johnson County, daughter of the late Isom and Bessie Bolen Austin.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hermon Daniels.
Surviving are four sons, Lon Cebert Daniels of Greenup, Robert Dean, Calvin Bryan and Hermon Jr. Daniels, all of Boons Camp; four daughters, Marcella Mae Klinglesmith of Paoli, Ind., Garnetta Gay, Korletta Kay, and Janetta Joy Daniels, all of Boons Camp; one brother, Alvin Austin of Brooksville, Fla.; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The service will be officiated by Johnnie Mollett, Claude Mollette, and Dewey Mullins, with burial in the Lakeview Memorial cemetery at Staffordsville.

Sandra Sue Browning

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 15, 1 p.m. at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home Chapel for Sandra Sue Browning, 70, of Paintsville, who passed away Tuesday, Oct. 11 at Mountain Manor Nursing Home in Paintsville.
Mrs. Browning was born Feb. 28, 1941 in Johnson County, daughter of the late Burl “Whitey” and Gladys Meade Cantrell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gene A. “Spanky” Browning.
Surviving are two daughters, Julia Ann (Claggett) Endicott and Genia Sue (Randy) Blevins, both of Paintsville; two brothers, Jackie Cantrell of Springfield, Ohio, and Wade Cantrell of Oil Springs; and two grandchildren.
The service will be officiated by Tobe Wheeler, Jeff Shurrow, and Wendell Ison, with burial in the Staffordsville Church Cemetery.

Jewell Stambaugh
1924-2011
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2 p.m. at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Jewell Stambaugh, 86, of Sitka, who passed away Sunday, Nov. 20 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville.
Mrs. Stambaugh was born Dec. 28, 1924 at Sitka, daughter of the late Hereford and Cova Salyer McKenzie.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Hobert Stambaugh.
Surviving are two sons, Bill Stambaugh of Paintsville, and Terry Stambaugh of Sitka; five daughters, Wanda Couch, Rita Cantrell, and Sherry Conley, all of Sitka, Diana Price of Louisa, and Sandy Stambaugh of Paintsville; 24 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and two-great-great-grandchildren.
The service will be officiated by Jimmy Brown, Terry Conley, and Eugene Stambaugh, with burial following in the Stambaugh cemetery at Sitka.

Lowell Creech
1931-2011
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 22, 11 a.m. at the Wilson Funeral Home in Louisa, for Lowell Creech, 80, of Blaine, who passed away Saturday, Nov. 19 at his residence.
Mr. Creech was born Feb. 11, 1931 in Paintsville, son of the late Lonnie and Virgie Frazier Creech. He was a retired U.S. mail carrier for 43 years.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Grim Creech; and one son, Raymond (Kathy) Creech, both of Staffordsville; two brothers, Sam Creech and Lonnie Paul Creech, both of Blaine; one granddaughter, Amanda Creech of Louisville.
The service was officiated by Rev. Lenny Wheeler, with burial in the Creech cemetery at Blaine.
