Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 2, 11 a.m. at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Randall Chandler, 70, of Tutor Key, who passed away Sat., July 30 at Highlands Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg.
Mr. Chandler was born April 21, 1941 in Lowmansville, son of the late Tom and Geneva Sparks Chandler. He was a truck driver with Phoenix Trucking.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Elkins Chandler of Tutor Key; one step-son, Rodney (Juanita) Ruth of Elkhorn City; one step-daughter, Kathryn Fohmann of Ashville, N.C.; three sisters, Patricia Sparks of Townville, S.C., Linda Sue Chandler and Judy Whiteside, both of Garland, Texas; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Jim McKenzie, with burial in the Green Acres cemetery at Ermine.

Robert Eugene Blevins
1931-2011
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 30, 11 a.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Robert Eugene Blevins, 79, who passed away Wednesday, July 27 in Prestonsburg.
Mr. Blevins was born Dec. 20, 1931 in Johnson County, son of the late Leslie and Mae Jones Blevins. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a farmer/general laborer.
Surviving are three sons, Robert E. “Ted” Blevins Jr. of Hager Hill, Dave Blevins of Sitka, and Allen L. Blevins of Hillsboro, Ohio; two daughters, Geslia Bayes of Paintsville and Jeanie Trimble of Prestonsburg; two brothers, Hobert Blevins of Hillsboro and Leslie Ray Blevins of Waverly, Ohio; five sisters, Clarice Ross of Sitka, Charlie “Echo” Ratliff of Staffordsville, and Mary Alice Starkey, Stella Gordon, and Anita “A.J.” Blevins, all of Columbus, Ohio; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Toby Wheeler, with burial in the Blevins-Jones Family cemetery at Sitka.

Walter Brown
1954-2011
Funeral services were held Friday, July 29, 1 p.m. at the Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel for Walter Brown, 56, of Staffordsville, who passed away Tuesday, July 26 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Brown was born Aug. 17, 1954, son of the late Marion and Dorothy Shepherd Brown. He was a heavy equipment operator.
Surviving are his wife, Charlotte Brown of Staffordsville; two daughters, Christina Conn of Salyersville and Jennifer Patton of Staffordsville; one step-daughter, Glenda Keaton of Huntington, W.Va.; two brothers, Dewey Brown of Staffordsville and Jim Lee Brown of Salyersville; one sister, Liz Crum of Boons Camp; three grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by the Revs. Roy Ramey and Lonnie B. Wright, with burial in the Brown cemetery at Staffordsville.

Elsie Mae Stapleton Tackett
1944-2011
Funeral services were held Monday, July 25, 1 p.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Elsie Mae Stapleton Tackett, 67, of Dwale, who passed away Saturday, July 23 at Riverview Healthcare in Prestonsburg.
Mrs. Tackett was born Feb. 26, 1944 in Johnson County, daughter of the late Herman and Ola Virginia Dixon Stapleton.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Tackett.
Surviving are four daughters, Teresa Ann Fields of Dwale, Polly Tackett of Paintsville, Stella Mae Kimbler of Volga, and Bernice Tackett of Meally; two sisters, Hermalee Cisco of Paintsville, and Ida Spradlin of Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Darlene Dye and Addie Hensley, both of Paintsville; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Jim Fields, with burial in the Highland Memorial Park cemetery at Staffordsville.

Jeffrey Charles Boone

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 29, 11 a.m. at the Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, Ind., for Jeffrey Charles Boone, 33, of Laconia, Ind., who passed away Tuesday, July 26 in Hardinsburg, Ky.
Mr. Boone was born Apr. 2, 1978 in Louisville, son of Dan and Glenda Burchett Boone of Laconia. He was a construction worker with T & C Contracting.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his wife, Nicole Arensman Boone of Laconia; one daughter, Ashtyn Leigh Boone of Laconia; and one sister, Contnai Boone of Laconia.
The service will be officiated by Pastor Sharon Kutz-Mellen, with burial in the Old Goshen cemetery at Laconia.

Timothy Reagen Hitchcock

Private memorial services will be held at a later date for Timothy Reagen Hitchcock, 55, of Thelma, who passed away Monday, July 25 in Paintsville.
Mr. Hitchcock was born April 24, 1956 in Johnson County, son of Anna Jewell Crace Hitchcock of Paintsville, and the late Carl V. Hitchcock. He was a welder.
Surviving are one daughter, Sarah Hitchcock Fox of West Virginia; four brothers, Carl Richard Hitchcock of Jenkins, Ballard R. Hitchcock of Paintsville, David J. Hitchcock of River, and John D. Hitchcock of Staffordsville; two sisters, Jo Anna Holbrook of Van Lear, and Diana Meek of Nippa.

Betty LeMaster

Funeral services were held Monday, July 18 at the Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet, Tenn., for Betty Lemaster, 70, of Mt. Juliet, who passed away Friday, July 15.
Mrs. Lemaster was born Dec. 24, 1940, daughter of the late Sonny and Icie Stapleton.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Rex Stapleton; and two sisters, Effie Cottle and Peggy Holbrook.
Surviving are her husband, Bill LeMaster of Mt. Juliet; one son John LeMaster; one daughter, Jane Groover; two brothers, Delmon and John Stapleton; one sister, Be Hill; and one grandson.
The service was officiated by Bro. Alan Herd, with interment at the Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens.

James Edgar Blair

Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 26, 1 p.m. at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel for James Edgar Blair, 57, of Carmi, Ill, who passed away Saturday, July 23 in Carmi.
Mr. Blair was born Aug. 23, 1953 in Paintsville, son of the late William and Beatrice Ratliff Blair.
Surviving are his wife, Regina Brugh Blair; three sons, Jeremy Blair of Carmi, Jamie Castle of Lowmansville, and Steve Castle of Blaine; one daughter, Andrea James of Stanford; two sisters, Bonnie Wiszniewski of Paintsville, and Brenda Caudill of Hager Hill; and eight grandchildren.
