Funeral services were held Monday, June 13, 11 a.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Theodore “Tom” Colvin, 90, of Leander, who passed away Friday, June 10 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville.
Mr. Colvin was born Nov. 23, 1920 in Johnson County, son of the late Morris and Erie Arms Colvin. He was a coal miner, a U.S. WW II Army veteran serving in the Phillipines, and a member of the Beachwall United Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Leo and Pete Colvin; and one sister, Anna Laura Colvin Johnson.
Surviving are his wife, Kathleen Trimble Colvin of Leander; three sons, Joe (Judi) Colvin of Leander, Jerry (Sharon) Colvin of Denver, and Jake (Wilma) Colvin of Salyersville; one daughter, Glenda (Alvin) Colvin Blair of Barnetts Creek; two sisters, Kathleen and Bonnie Colvin, both of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, Marsha Jo Colvin, Crystal and Jamie Workman, Jay and Tonjua Colvin, J.T. and Andrea Blair, Morgan Colvin and Jake Ryan Colvin; and great-grandchildren Jacob Colvin, Emily Workman, Madison Blair, Ethan Fannin, Kyle Workman, Jonathan Colvin and Lily Grace Shaw; also a host of nieces and nephews.
The service was officiated by Herb Arms, Joe Scott, and Richard Williams, with burial in the Highland Memorial Park cemetery at Staffordsville.
Military rites conducted by the Auxier Chapter 18 D.A.V.

Hazel Fisher
Hazel Fisher, 91, of Titusville, Fla., passed away Sunday, May 22. She was born in Chattaroy, W.Va., and came to Brevard County, Fla., after living many years in Van Lear.
Hazel was a homemaker and a Missionary Baptist Sunday School teacher, and a Sunbeam Leader for many years in Kentucky and Brevard County.
Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, James, and her son, Kenneth.
Hazel is survived by her children, James (Barbara) Fisher, Virginia Ann Loyce, Elaine (Kenneth) Pelphrey, Earl (Beth) Fisher; and daughter-in-law, Barbara Fisher; 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Barry Keith Johnson
1957-2011
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 14, 11 a.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Barry Keith Johnson, 54, of Mt. Sterling, formerly of Paintsville, who passed away Friday, June 10.
Mr. Johnson was the son of the late Ivan and Anna Laura Colvin Johnson.
Surviving are two sisters, Nancy Johnson Hatfield and Sherri Johnson Henry, both of Hager Hill; one niece and two nephews; one great-niece and one great-nephew.
Burial was in the Johnson Family cemetery at Hager Hill.

Harry Snow Roberts
Harry Snow Roberts, 82 of Paintsville died Monday, June 13th, 2011 at his home. He was the son of the late O.O. and Anita Roberts. He is preceded in death by his wife Dora Mae Roberts.
He is survived by one daughter Anita (David) Lemaster of Winchester, KY.; two sons, Russell Snow Roberts of Knoxville, TN. and Mack (Andrea) Roberts of Paintsville, KY.; and four grandchildren Rachel Leah, Jacob Snow, Morgan Lynn, and Terri Elizabeth.
Harry worked in the oil and gas field and was a member of The First Christian Church, where he served as deacon, elder & trustee.
Funeral Services will be Thursday at 1:00 P.M. at the First Christian Church with burial in the Richmond Cemetery, Paintsville. Visitation will be Wednesday after 3:00 P.M. and 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 noon on Thursday at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home.
Contributions may be made to the First Christian Church or to the Gideon’s.

Phyllis Ann Hannah
1946-2011
Funeral services were held Monday, June 13, 1 p.m. at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home Chapel for Phyllis Ann Hannah, 64, of Hager Hill, who passed away Thursday, June 9 at Highlands Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg.
Mrs. Hannah was born Dec. 3, 1946 in Johnson County, daughter of the late Earl and Mary Arms.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Hannah.
Surviving are one son, William Phillip Hannah of Paintsville; three daughters, Angela Kay Spears of Hager Hill, Anita Lynn Auxier of Thelma, and Carol Ann Cain of Nederland, Texas; one sister, Alene Music of Hager Hill; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Richard Williams, Joe Scott, and Danny Ward. Burial was in the Hannah cemetery at Denver.

Terry Emily Jackson
Terry Emily “Tater” Jackson, 82, of Rineyville, passed away Monday, June 13 at her residence.
She was a native of Johnson County, and a former member of Old Union United Baptist Church in Staffordsville.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Idella Burchett; and five sisters and four brothers.
She is survived by her husband, Walter Jackson Sr. of Rineyville; one son, James (Lucy) Jackson of Shelby County; two daughters, Linda (John) Mahoney of Rineyville, and Shirley (Darrell) Holliday of West Liberty; six grandchildren, Brent and John Holliday, Emily, Alanna, and Quinn Jackson, and Branden Vincent; three great-grandchildren, Journey and Landon Holliday, and Edmond Lee Vincent.
The funeral will be Thursday, June 16. 10:30 a.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown, with the Rev. Raymond Ward officiating. Burial to follow at Kentucky Veterans cemetery Central in Radcliff.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and continuing Thursday after 9 a.m. at the funeral home.

Haskell (Hack) Collins
1919-2011
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 13, 11 a.m. at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home for Haskell (Hack) Collins, 91, of Van Lear, who passed away Monday, June 13 at the Thomson Hood Veteran Center in Wilmore, Ky.
Mr. Collins was born June 21, 1919 in Johnson County, son of the late Wallace and Alley Spriggs Collins. He was a WWII Veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Elkins Collins; one son, Ray Griffith of Morehead; one daughter, Tonna Dawson of Van Lear; two grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in the Johnson County cemetery at Staffordsville.

James Roy Stambaugh
1947-2011
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 16, 11 a.m. at the Ramey Branch Church for James Roy Stambaugh, 64, of Sitka, who passed away Monday, June 13 at the Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville.
Mr. Stambaugh was born Jan. 3, 1947 at Sitka, son of the late Louie and Edith Mae Clark Stambaugh. He was a laborer with the RC Bottling Company.
Surviving are four brothers, Elmo, Warren and Paul Wayne Stambaugh, all of Sitka, and Ronnie Stambaugh of Hager Hill.
The service will be officiated by Roger Ross, with burial to follow in the Stambaugh/Clark cemetery at Sitka.

Leora Cantrell Davis
1940-2011
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 16, 1 p.m. at the Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel for Leora Cantrell Davis, 71, of Flat Gap, who passed away Monday, June 13 at her residence.
Mrs. Davis was born May 21, 1940 in Johnson County, daughter of the late Roy and Clora Cantrell. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her husband, Denver Davis of Flat Gap; two sons, Denny Davis and Steve Greene, both of Flat Gap; one daughter, Pamela Curtis of Flat Gap; two step-sons, Robert and Keith Davis, both of Fairborn, Ohio; three sisters, Sue Salyer of Delaware, Ohio, Betty Sparks of Flat Gap, and Maxine Stambaugh of Sunberry, Ohio; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The service will be officiated by Elder Allen Fannin, with burial to follow in the Cantrell cemetery at Flat Gap.
