Kentucky Marriage Records by County

Beulah G. Baldwin, 76, of Mechanicsburg, Ohio, died Thursday, February 18, at her residence. Mrs. Baldwin was born July 4, 1922, in Paintsville, to the late Albert and Oma Tackett Trimble. She was a member of the Hickory Grove United Baptist Church of Mechanicsburg.

Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, February 24, for Icie Mildred Preston Ratliff, 88, who died Sunday, February 21, at Mountain Manor of Paintsville. Mrs. Ratliff was born June 12, 1910, in Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri, to the late Lafe and Bessie Music Preston. She was a member of Buffalo United Baptist Church.

Jones-Preston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Wayne Helton, 77, who died Wednesday, February 17, at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center. Mr. Helton was born June 15, 1921, in Morgan County, to the late Sam and Sissy Cole Helton. He was a farmer.

Mary F. Ward, 61, of Frankfort, Ohio, died Saturday, February 20, in the Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe, Ohio, following a brief illness. She was born November 23, 1937, at Sitka, the daughter of the late Andrew J. and Mayme LeMaster Rowe.

Graveside services were held Sunday, February 21, in Johnson County Memorial Cemetery for Lizzie Fraley Whitaker, age 76. Mrs. Whitaker died Friday, February 19, in Mountain Manor Nursing Home, Paintsville.

Wilson Funeral Home of Louisa was in charge of services for Ronnie Dean Cordle, 33, of Prestonsburg. Mr. Cordle died Friday, February 19, at Highlands Regional Medical Center.

Shirley Castle Calvert Kendall, 68, died Thursday, February 11, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. She was born December 26, 1930, the daughter of Vivian McCloud Castle of Paintsville and the late James Castle.

Former Johnson County resident Gladys H. Music, 76, of Newport News, Virginia, died Wednesday, February 24. Mrs. Music was a member of Warwick Baptist Church, an honorary member of The Kentucky Colonels and was a former foster mother for Newport News Social Services.

Funeral services will be held today, Friday, February 26, for Elsie Arrowood Ward, 76, who died Tuesday, February 23, at Wurtland Nursing Home. Mrs. Ward was born December 27, 1922, in Johnson County, to the late Melvin and Etta McKenzie Arrowood. She was a member of the Buffalo United Baptist Church.

Lucy Caudill, 93, died February 14, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. Mrs. Caudill was born December 26, 1905, at Oil Springs, to the late Elishia Jackson and Louise Caudill. She was a member of Riceville Freewill Baptist Church.

Paintsville resident Bessie Gullett Branham, 78, died Saturday, February 20, at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington. Mrs. Branham was born June 20, 1920, to the late Challie and Lucrecia Blair Blanton.

Retired truck driver Charles Dotson, 65, died Sunday, February 21, at V A Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia. Mr. Dotson was born August 17, 1933, in Johnson County, to Sylvia Conley Dotson and the late Alex Dotson.

Preston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Logan Castle, 83, who died Saturday, February 20, at his Tutor Key residence. Mr. Castle was born October 30, 1915, in Johnson County, to the late Henderson and Laura Stapleton Castle. He was a retired mechanic from Adams Construction and member of Baker Branch Freewill Baptist Church.

Gertrude Marie Patton Arms, 91, died Wednesday, February 24, at Mountain Manor Nursing Home. Mrs. Arms was born November 26, 1907, in Brave, Pennsylvania, to the late Franklin Claud and Hannah M. Gump White.

Okie Earl Nelson Sr., 78, died Sunday, February 28, at St. Joseph Hospital. A native of Floyd County, Mr. Nelson was the son of the late Sam "Sambo" and Jane Derossett Nelson. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Lexington, Lexington Lodge #1, F & AM, since September 29, 1952, Oleika Shrine, Kentucky Polled Hereford Association and the Kentucky Farm Bureau and was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason.

Former West Van Lear resident Frank M. Jeter, 67, died February 15 in Cape Coral, Florida. Mr. Jeter was the former owner and operator of the Jeter City Service and Jet Freeze. He was retired from Beavercreek School System, having worked at Ferguson Junior High from 1969 to 1988. He was member of the Church of the Brethren and the Beaver Valley Lodge #753 F & AM, Beaver Valley Chapter #570 OES and the Kentucky Colonels, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served from 1950-1954, and having served on the Beavercreek Chapter Commission.

Funeral services will be held today, Friday, March 5, for Willis Hershel Conley, 81, who died March 3 at Highlands Regional Medical Center. Mr. Conley was born August 22, 1917, in Johnson County, to the late Luther and Martha Stambaugh Conley. He was a retired educator from the Johnson County School System and a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.

Bonnie Belle Manns Hensley, 79, died Monday, March 1, at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Hensley was born April 4, 1919, in Magoffin County, to the late Elbert and Florence Haney Poe.

Former Johnson County resident Ellis Ray Cantrell, 85, died Monday, March 8. Mr. Cantrell, of Pittsboro, North Carolina, was the son of the late McCoy and Amanda Estepp Cantrell.

James D. Daniel, 79, died Thursday, February 25, at Brandon Regional Medical Center, Brandon, Florida. Mr. Daniel was born October 19, 1919, in Johnson County, to the late Scott and Leona VanHoose Daniel. He was a retired building contractor and a veteran of World War II.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 5, for John Ernest "Bub" Flint Jr., 40, who died Tuesday, March 2, at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center. Mr. Flint was born August 22, 1958, in Johnson County, to Geneva Ward Flint and the late John Flint.

Funeral services will be held today, Friday, March 12, for Olivia B. Campbell, 78, who died March 7 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Campbell was born October 18, 1920, in Lafayette, Ohio, to the late George W. and Virginia A. Rice Blanton.

Former Johnson County resident Willa M. "Billie" Dobson, 73, died March 8 at Community East in Indianapolis, Indiana. Dobson was born September 13, 1925, in Johnson County, to the late Willie and Virginia Williams Frazier.

Elder Buel C. Ferguson, 99, died Thursday, March 11, at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center. Mr. Ferguson was born in October 1899, to the late John Thurman and Cynthia Hall Ferguson. He was a retired miner and member of the Concord United Baptist Church.

Former Johnson County resident Eldon Russell (Buddy) Estepp, 68, died Saturday, March 13, at Pike Community Hospital in Waverly, Ohio. Mr. Estepp was born November 2, 1930, in Johnson County, to the late Willard and Ethel McKenzie Collins. He was disabled.

Myrtle Wheatley, 84, died Friday, March 5, at J. J. Jordan Geriatric Center in Louisa. Mrs. Wheatley was born in June 1914, in Magoffin County, to the late Oscar and Louise Litteral Blair. She was a retired parking attendant and member of the First Christian Church.

Paintsville Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Tom Short, 67, who died Saturday, March 13, at Veterans Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia. Mr. Short was born January 16, 1932, in Johnson County, to the late Gervin and Sarah Frances "Frankie" Phelps Short. He was a retired salesman from Rainbow Mobile Homes of Paintsville.
