Mary F. Ward, 61, of Frankfort, Ohio, died Saturday, February 20, in the Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe, Ohio, following a brief illness. She was born November 23, 1937, at Sitka, the daughter of the late Andrew J. and Mayme LeMaster Rowe.
Graveside services were held Sunday, February 21, in Johnson County Memorial Cemetery for Lizzie Fraley Whitaker, age 76. Mrs. Whitaker died Friday, February 19, in Mountain Manor Nursing Home, Paintsville.

Shirley Castle Calvert Kendall, 68, died Thursday, February 11, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. She was born December 26, 1930, the daughter of Vivian McCloud Castle of Paintsville and the late James Castle.
Former Johnson County resident Gladys H. Music, 76, of Newport News, Virginia, died Wednesday, February 24. Mrs. Music was a member of Warwick Baptist Church, an honorary member of The Kentucky Colonels and was a former foster mother for Newport News Social Services.

Retired truck driver Charles Dotson, 65, died Sunday, February 21, at V A Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia. Mr. Dotson was born August 17, 1933, in Johnson County, to Sylvia Conley Dotson and the late Alex Dotson.

Okie Earl Nelson Sr., 78, died Sunday, February 28, at St. Joseph Hospital. A native of Floyd County, Mr. Nelson was the son of the late Sam "Sambo" and Jane Derossett Nelson. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Lexington, Lexington Lodge #1, F & AM, since September 29, 1952, Oleika Shrine, Kentucky Polled Hereford Association and the Kentucky Farm Bureau and was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason.
Former West Van Lear resident Frank M. Jeter, 67, died February 15 in Cape Coral, Florida. Mr. Jeter was the former owner and operator of the Jeter City Service and Jet Freeze. He was retired from Beavercreek School System, having worked at Ferguson Junior High from 1969 to 1988. He was member of the Church of the Brethren and the Beaver Valley Lodge #753 F & AM, Beaver Valley Chapter #570 OES and the Kentucky Colonels, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served from 1950-1954, and having served on the Beavercreek Chapter Commission.
