Funeral services will be held today September 22 at 11 a.m. at the Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel for Fred Harold Rose, 78, of Keaton, who passed away on September 17 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center.
He was born November 20, 1931, to the late Charlie Chillton and Addie Mae Tincher Rose, of Keaton.
He was a pipe fitter.
He was preceded in death by one son, William Jeffery Rose.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby L. Kelly Rose; three sisters, Maureen McFaddin, of Paintsville, Elizabeth Ann Rose, of Frankfort, and Mary Martha Rose, of Lexington; step-son, Greg McKenzie, of Vancleve; two grandsons and one step-grandson.
Friends may call Tuesday from 4-9 p.m., or Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral.
Services will be conducted by Rev. Danny Fannin with burial at the Rose-Mullins Cemetery, Keaton.

Dottie Hamilton
1943-2010
Funeral services will be held today, September 22, at 2 p.m. for Dottie Hamilton, 67, of Flat Gap, who passed away on September 20 at her residence.
She was born August 29, 1943, daughter of the late John Edward and Gertie Arms Woods, of Paintsville.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons, Larry Dean Hamilton, of Columbus, Ohio, and Noble “Lisa” Hamilton Jr., of Thealka; four daughters, Christi “Forest” Burke, of York, Pa., Denise “Robert” Estep, of Flat Gap, Pamela “Shane” Garrell, of Columbus, Ohio, and Patricia “Sandy” Harris, of Flat Gap; two brothers, Charles Woods, of Columbus, Ohio, and James “Donna” Woods, of Van Lear; two sisters, Joan Root, of Columbus, Ohio, and Mary “James” Shell, of Paintsville; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call Tuesday from 6-10 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Community Hospice by calling the Paintsville Funeral Home.
Services will be conducted by Jason Hutchinson and Bill Mills with burial to follow at the Hamilton Cemetery, Redbush.

Billy Ray Austin
1936-2010
Funeral service will be held today, September 22, at 3 p.m. at the chapel of the Phelps and Son Funeral Home for Billy Ray Austin, 74, of Paintsville, who passed away on September 19 at his home.
He was born September 6, 1936, in Ulysses, son of the late Silver Eugene Austin and Clada Castle Austin.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice Wells Austin; one son, Timothy Wayne Austin, of Prestonsburg; one daughter, Denise Austin Raines, of Lexington; one brother, Robert Eugene Austin of Denver, Colorado; one sister, Carole Lipinsky, of West Virginia; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit the funeral home from 1 p.m. Wednesday until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Services will be conducted by James Scott with military services by Chapter 18 of the D.A.V. of Auxier.

Jack C. Price
1928-2010
Graveside services were held Tuesday, September 21, at noon at the Fred C. VanHoose cemetery in Tutor Key, for Jack C. Price, 82, of Tutor Key, who passed away on September 18 at his residence.
He was born July 11, 1928, in Johnson City, Tenn., son of the late Joe and Nellie Chinswth Price.
He was a self-employed coal operator and a member of the Baker Br. Church.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Cheeseman Isaac Price; one son, Vincent Price, of Lexington; one brother, Roy Price, of Mobile, Ala.; two sisters, Mary Daniels, of Hillsboro, Ohio, and Joann Smith, of W. Union, Ohio.
Services were conducted by Wesley Stedefeld.

Billy Gene ‘Jack’ Meade
1938-2010
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 15, 11 a.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Billy Gene “Jack” Meade, 72, of Hager Hill, Ky., who passed away Friday, Sept. 10 at Select Speciality Hospital.
He was born December 4, 1938 in Johnson County, son of Bill Meade of Charleston, Tenn., and the late Wilma Jean Vanhoose. He was a retired heavy equipment mechanic with Rebel Coal Co., a member of Paintsville Masonic Lodge, Paintsville Fire Department, and Paintsville Police Department.
Surviving in addition to his father, are his wife, Penny Clatos Meade of Hager Hill; three sons, William “Bill” (Leigh Ann) Meade of Salyersville, Michael Lee “Mike” (Michelle) Meade and Robert Allen “Bobby” (Glenda) Meade, both of Paintsville; one honorary son, Jody (Stacy) Allen of Hager Hill; one daughter, Jackie Meade of Hager Hill; one brother, Ronald Lee “David” (Ronnie) Meade of Elizabethtown; three sisters, Judy (John) Wheatley of Charleston, Tenn., Nancy C. Meade and Brenda (Carl) Presley, both of Calhoun, Tenn.; and three grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Jimmy McKenzie and Rick Ratliff, with burial in the Highland Memorial Park cemetery at Staffordsville.

Deron Edward Ramey
1965-2010
Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 17, 1 p.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Deron Edward Ramey, 45, of Lakeland, Fla., who passed away Saturday, Sept. 11 at his residence.
He was born July 12, 1965 in Johnson County, son of Elwood Ramey of Paintsville and the late Donnita Jones Ramey. He was a dock supervisor for Superior-Gold Coast Freightways. In addition to his mother, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Vongia Ramey.
Surviving in addition to his father are his wife, Rose Whitaker Ramey of Lakeland; three sons, Kristopher (Jessica) Cox of Vero Beach, Fla., Derrick Ramey of Vero Beach, and Dylan Ramey of Lakeland; one daughter, Ashley (Nicholas – financé) Harris of Lakeland; five brothers, Emery, Don, and Kevin Ramey, all of Flat Gap, Van Ramey of Winchester, and Elwood Ramey Jr. of Sunberry, Ohio; and one sister, Charolet Hawkins of Tampa, Fla.
The service will be officiated by Paul Dean Meade and Harold Salyer, with burial in the Sparks cemetery at Flat Gap.
