Margie Fannin, 63, died Tuesday, February 8, at Highlands Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Fannin was born September 13, 1936, in Floyd County, the daughter of James Powers and the late Bonnie Privett Powers. She was a partner in Fannin Plumbing and a member of Auxier Freewill Baptist Church.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, South Fannin Sr.
Surviving are five sons, Garry, Billy and Paul, all of Van Lear, Darrell of Staffordsville and South Jr. of Offutt; three daughters, Kathy Arnett of Salyersville, Karen Stambaugh of Van Lear and Jennifer Blanton of Paintsville.
Also surviving are four brothers, Richard Powers of Auxier, and Robert, Jimmy and Glenn Powers, all of Prestonsburg; three sisters, Deanna Harless of Hager Hill, Charlene Harless of Ohio, and Maggie Collins of Auxier; and 14 grandchildren.

Thomas Baldwin
1924-2000
Paintsville Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Paintsville resident Thomas Baldwin, 75, who died February 11 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Baldwin was born November 1, 1924, in Paintsville, the son of the late John and Alka Rice Baldwin.
Survivors include two half sisters, Mildred Arms of Paintsville, and Neva Jean Purifoy of Georgia; and three cousins, David Conley, Joe Conley and Frank Conley, all of Paintsville.

Gladys Mollette
1914-2000
Gladys Mae Perkey Mollette, 85, died Friday, February 11, at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center.
Born July 24, 1914, Mrs. Mollette was preceded in death by her parents, W. H. and Lutisha Duty Perkey; her husband, William T. Mollette; and two daughters, Grethel Walters and Tishaline Wilcox.
Surviving are one son, Beryle Mollette of Rochester Hills, Michigan; two daughters, Eva Meeks of Williamsport and Delphine Meek of Flat Rock, Michigan; two sisters, Opal Daniel and Edna Ward, both of Boons Camp; and 21 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great-grandchildren.

Francisco Puig
1937-2000
Paintsville resident Dr. Francisco Puig, 62, died Tuesday, February 8, at UK Medical Center in Lexington.
Dr. Puig was born August 30, 1937, in the Philippines, to the late Francisco and Angeles Vibaide Puig, Sr. He practiced medicine in the Paintsville area since 1979 and was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church of Paintsville.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Andrews Puig of Paintsville; one son, Franklin Puig of Lexington; three daughters, Frances Puig of Huntington, West Virginia, and Yolanda Puig and Elizabeth Puig, both of Paintsville; five sisters, Florenia Puig of New York City, Amelita Puig of Washington, D.C., Lorurdes Puig, Isabel Puig and Burendatte Puig, all of the Phillipines; and one brother, Julian Puig, Philippines.

Ethel Curtis
1917-2000
Paintsville Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Ethel Curtis, 82, of Staffordsville, who died Saturday, February 12, at Salyersville Health Care Center.
Mrs. Curtis was born July 15, 1917, in Johnson County, to the late Ed and Hattie Howard Blanton. She was a cook.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Flem Curtis.
Surviving are three daughters, Sue Curtis of Paintsville; Gertrude Fairchild and Joann Estep, both of Staffordsville; one son, Johnny Edward Curtis of Flat Gap; one sister, Della McKenzie of Flat Gap; one half sister, Mary Cochran of Oil Springs; two half brothers, Jack Blanton of Oil Springs and Melvin Blanton of Beattyville; and 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 15 at Lowgap United Baptist Church with Elders Frankie Williams, Ray McCarty and Sammy Reed officiating.

Imogene Copley
1940-2000
Former Johnson County resident Imogene Castle Copley, 59, of Ashland, died Tuesday, February 8, at King's Daughters' Medical Center.
Mrs. Copley was born July 29, 14940, in Paintsville, to the late Everett and Dorothy Preston Castle. She was a receptionist and member of the Freewill Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Earl Copley; three daughters, Vickie Arthur and Glenda Copley, both of Ashland, and Shelia Ours of Huntington, West Virginia; two brothers, Michael and Bobby R. Castle, both of Thealka; three sisters, Eloise Dials of Paintsville, Betty Kinner of Thealka and Brenda Owens of Moultrie, Georgia; and six grandchildren and one great-grandchildren.

Luther Shell
1917-2000
Luther Shell, 82, died Monday, February 7, at Mountain Manor Nursing Home.
Mr. Shell was born September 17, 1917, in Floyd County, to the late Jim and Martha Shell. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Shell.
Surviving are four sons, Jack Shell of Betsy Layne, Patrick Shell of Hanover, Indiana, Steven Shell of Butlerville, Indiana, and Robert Shell of Jacksonville, Florida; four daughters, Katrina Cantrell of Paintsville, Gladys Daniel of Mentone, Indiana, Brenda Bradley of Rochester, Indiana, and Virginia Freeman of Jacksonville, Florida; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Edith Proctor
1915-2000
Retired merchant Edith Proctor, 84, died Wednesday, February 2, at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Proctor was born December 13, 1915, in Pike County, to the late Elisha McPeek and Sarah Tackett.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Proctor; one son, Gary Belcher, in 1991; and a stepson, Max Proctor.
Surviving are seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Kathleen Litteral
1924-2000
Swamp Branch resident Kathleen Scott Litteral, 75, died Tuesday, February 1, at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Litteral was born June 9, 1924, in Magoffin County, to the late Hebern and Mary Blair Scott.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward Litteral.
Surviving are one son, Elza Jack Litteral of Paintsville; and two sisters, Edna Faye "Patty" Blanton of Swamp Branch and Cledith Hannah of London, Ohio.

Russell Ferguson
1930-2000
Funeral services were held Monday, February 7, for Russell Ferguson, 70, of Flat Gap, who died February 4.
Mr. Ferguson was born January 22, 1930, at Kerz, to the late Lundy and Nollie Murray Ferguson. He was a farmer.
Surviving are his wife, Lola Ferguson; three sons, Gary and William, both of Flat Gap, and Joe of Auxier; two daughters, Brenda Lemaster of Chillicothe, Ohio, and Vivian Davis of Bakersville, California; three brothers, Walter, Virgil and Douglas; four sisters, Earlene Lawson, Betty Jo Parker, Carolyn Franklin and Flora King; and nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Shirley Wright
1920-2000
Paintsville Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Shirley Wright, 79, of Keaton, who died Saturday, February 5, at Mountain Manor Nursing Home.
Mrs. Wright was born February 18, 1920, in Johnson County, to the late Merida and Liddie Fyffe Wright.
Surviving are four brothers, Dean Wright of Keaton, Luther Wright of Flat Gap, and James and Murl Wright, both of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; and two sisters, Jean Wright of Keaton and Kathleen Phillips of Gahanna, Ohio.

Raymond Blanton
1914-2000
Raymond Blanton, 85, died Sunday, February 6, at Salyersville Health Care Center.
Mr. Blanton was born September 14, 1914, in Magoffin County, to the late Gardner and Patty Borders Blanton. He was a retired self-employed salesman.
Surviving are his wife, Fanny B. Blanton; one son, Ron Blanton of Oil Springs; three daughters, Peggy Vance and Christine Wheeler, both of Oil Springs, and Juanita Lockard of Morgantown, West Virginia; two brothers, Richard Blanton of Ashland and Wayne Blanton of Ft. Myers, Florida; one sister, Joyce Patrick of Ft. Myers; and four grandchildren.

Dorothy Sizemore
1930-2000
Jones-Preston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Dorothy Sizemore, 69, of Martin County, who died Thursday, February 3, at Highlands Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Sizemore was born September 23, 1930, in Martin County, to the late Frances and Alice Hignight Spradlin.
She was also preceded in death by two husbands, Monroe Dalton, in 1953; and Orville Sizemore, in 1990; and two sons, Charles Dalton and Herbert Sizemore.
Surviving are three sons, Orville Sizemore of Somerset, Timothy Sizemore of Tomahawk and James Sizemore of Wabash, Indiana; three daughters, Charollette Preston of Boons Camp and Alice Butcher and Jessica Spence, both of Tomahawk; and 24 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.

Dexter Patton Sr.
1911-2000
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 5, for Dexter Patton Sr., 88, of Paintsville, who died February 2 at King's Daughters' Medical Center, Ashland.
Mr. Patton was born July 25, 1911, in Magoffin County, to the late Reese and Carrie Arnett Patton. He was a retired clerk.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Helen Marie Patton.
Surviving are one son, D.J. Patton Jr. of Lexington; three daughters, Margaret Rogers of Lexington, Martha Mefford of Raceland and Marlene White of Richmond, Virginia; and nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Lyman Parrigin
Lyman J. Parrigin Jr., 77, of Kingwood, Texas, died March 30, in Houston, Texas.
Mr. Parrigin was born in Paintsville, the son of Lyman and Bess Goggin Parrigin. He attended the Paintsville Schools and went on to Davidson College, North Carolina. After graduation in 1943 he enlisted in the Army and served two-and-a-half years, leaving as a first lieutenant with a Bronze Star and a European campaign ribbon. In 1946 he enrolled at the University of Kentucky to work on his master's degree. In June of 1947 he married the former Nancy Chamberlin of New York, whom he met in Vienna in 1946. In 1948 Mr. Parrigin started his long career as an executive with the Esso/Exxon Company, working in New Jersey, England, Belgium, and New York before retiring in 1983. He then began a second career with the International Executive Service Corps, where he worked in New York and Connecticut for six years. He served on the board of the American Red Cross in New Canaan, Connecticut, where he and his family made their home for 20 years. Mr. Parrigin was one of the founders of the Community Presbyterian Church in Mountainside, New Jersey, where he served as an elder for six years. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, The Queen's Club and the Special Forces Club, both in London, and the Kingwood Country Club.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Parrigin; one son Lyman J. III, of Los Angeles, California; three daughters, Susie Akitt of Houston, Sally Hilton of Kingwood, Texas, and Stacy K. Parrigin of New Canaan; one brother, Dr. Perry G. Parrigin of Columbia, Missouri; one sister, Anne Phelps of San Antonio, Texas; and three granddaughters.

Wallace Golding
Former Johnson County resident, Wallace Page "Dicky" Golding, 74, of Lexington, died March 25 at his residence.
Mr. Golding was the son of the late Ada Williams Golding Lyon and Jack Golding. He was the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Napolian Williams of Red Bush. He was raised at Red Bush before living in Michigan, Wheelersburg, Ohio, and later Lexington. He attended the United Baptist Church of Lexington.
He was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Mark Lyon; and a brother, Jack Golding Jr.
Surviving are an aunt, Lexie Williams Haney of Lexington, formerly of Red Bush.

Joyce O'Connors
1935-2000
Joyce Wells O'Connors, 65, of Marysville, Ohio, died Monday, March 27, at Memorial Hospital of Union County, Marysville.
O'Connors was born January 24, 1935, in Paintsville, to the late Eugene and Alma (Wells) Wells. She was a retired control tester from AT & T in Columbus, Ohio, attended Marysville Freewill Baptist Church was a member of Delaware, Ohio, Eagles Lodge Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Gayle Pfeiffer.
Surviving are two sons, Brian O'Connors of Sunbury, Ohio, and Chris O'Connors of Marysville; one daughter, Nikki O'Connors of Findlay, Ohio; one brother, Ralph Wells of Prestonsburg; three sisters, Gwen Alexander of Prestonsburg, Evelyn Wells of Lexington and Elaine Andrusia of Charlotte, North Carolina; and seven grandchildren.

Mary Hyden
1924-2000
Jones-Preston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Mary Iness Brown Hyden, 76, who died Thursday, March 30, at Mountain View Health Care Center, Elkhorn City.
Mrs. Hyden was born February 1, 1924, in Johnson County, to the late Ira and Clara Bowling Ward.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Emerson Brown, in 1969; and two daughters, Linda Sue Honeycutt and Geneva Eileen Brown.
Surviving are three sons, James Paul and Gene Arthur Brown, both of Van Lear, and Jimmy Ray Brown of Prestons-burg; three daughters, Kay Collins and Shirley Mae Webb, both of Van Lear, and Donna June Webb of Williamsport; one sister, Judy Franklin of Big Stone Gap, Virginia; and 15 grand-children and 17 great-grandchildren.

Earl Mollette
1915-2000
Preston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Earl Mollette, 84, of Whitehouse, who died Monday, March 27, at Vencor Hospital, Louisville.
Mr. Mollette was born September 25, 1915, in Martin County, to the late James Albert Mollette Sr. and Janie Pack Mollette. He was a retired electrician.
Surviving are his wife, Bradelene Price Mollette; three brothers, James Albert Mollett Jr. of Staffordsville, Noah Mollett of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Paul Mollett of Fayetteville, North Carolina; and four sisters, Nevilee Smith and Zelda Tennyson, both of Norfolk, Virginia, and Solvaetta Smith and Juanita McIntosh, both of Indianapolis, Indiana.
