Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, August 2, for Loretta Music, 80, who died July 30 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Music was born October 12, 1919, in Johnson County, to the late James W. and Rodie Alice Sammons Mollette.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Music.
Surviving are one sister, Anna Ward of Shelby, Ohio.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. at Lakeview Memorial Cemetery, with Dick VanHoose officiating.
Jones-Preston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Donnie Ferguson
1972-2000
Donnie Gene Ferguson, 28, died Sunday, July 30.
Mr. Ferguson was born May 28, 1972, in Johnson County, to Virgil and Rosetta Jenkins Ferguson. He was employed by Key Energy.
Surviving are his wife, Katina Lynn Estep Ferguson; his parents; four brothers, Virgil Jr., Danny and Joshua Ferguson, all of Flat Gap, and Anthony Ray Ferguson of Red Bush; two sisters, Jennifer Tackett of Sitka and Diana Anderson of Providence; one brother-in-law, Bobby (Samantha) Estep of Zanesville, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Michelle (Jim) Hogsett of Sugar Grove, Ohio, and Dawn Woodard; and three nephews and five nieces.
Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, at 1 p.m. at Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel, with Johnny Estep and Jeff Blanton officiating.
Burial will follow in Cammack-Field Cemetery at Flat Gap.

Tammy Cantrell
1962-2000
Flat Gap resident Tammy Gay Cantrell, 37, died Wednesday, July 26, at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center.
Ms. Cantrell was born July 28, 1962, in Johnson County, to Eudell Cantrell and Shirley Hill Cantrell.
Surviving are her parents; one brother, Billy Cantrell of Flat Gap; and one sister, Betty Jo Cantrell of Flat Gap.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 29, at Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel, with Elders Eulas Adams, Philip Caudill and Allen Fannin officiating.
Burial was in Cantrell Family Cemetery at Flat Gap.

Gerald Colvin
1928-2000
Wittensville resident Gerald Charles Colvin, 71, died Sunday, July 30, at Mountain Manor Nursing Home.
Mr. Colvin was born August 23, 1928, in Johnson County, to the late Charlie and Fannie Mae Trimble Colvin. He was a projectionist for Sipp Cinema for 40 years and a veteran of the Korean War.
Surviving are two sisters, Vivian Ruth Honeycutt and Joann Meadows, both of Wittensville.
Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, at 11 a.m. at Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel, with Jr. Womack, Dick VanHoose and Larry Joe Meadows officiating.
Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville.

Neva Fandt
1915-2000
Former Johnson County resident Neva Lee Fandt, 85, of Jamestown, New York, died Monday, July 24, at the Lutheran Retirement Home.
Mrs. Fandt was born April 10, 1915, in Paintsville, to the late Reece and Susie Webb Blair. She was a licensed practical nurse at the Paintsville Hospital for several years and was a member of Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church in Kabob, New York.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter E. Fandt, on November 21, 1976; one brother, Richard Blair, in 1994; one sister, Lillian Fairchild, in 1954; and two infant sisters, Ethel Blair, in 1916, and Marie Blair, in 1922.
Surviving are one son, Christian R. Fandt of Jamestown; two brothers, Dexter E. Blair of Flat Gap and Glenn Blair of Beavercreek, Ohio; three sisters, Anna Louise Skerven of Paintsville, Garnet Stanton of Nevada and Pennsylvania, and Pansy Loretta Blair of Las Vegas, Nevada; and one step-grandson.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 27, at Lind Funeral Home of Jamestown, with Rev. Lauren Turner officiating.
Burial followed in Cassadaga Cemetery, Cassadaga, New York.

George Young
George Alvin Young, 68, of Dayton, Ohio, died Monday, July 24, at his residence.
Mr. Young was the son of the late Jessie Bradley Young Sr. and Ada Marie Conley-Young. He was an Army veteran, having served during the Korean War, foster parent for nine years and worked as a carpenter.
Surviving are his wife, Pauline Daniel-Young; one son, James Young of Dayton; three daughters, Kathy McKenzie of Paintsville, Freida Kendrick of West Carrollton, Ohio, and Carolyn Lake of Dayton; five brothers, Charles of Columbus, Ohio, Eugene of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Noah of Fairborn, Ohio, Nurman of Kettering, Ohio, and Douglas of Long Beach, California; and 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held today, Friday, at 2 p.m. at Newcomer-Barclay Funeral Home of Kettering, with Rev. Elva Daniels officiating.
Burial will follow in Valley View Memory Gardens, Xenia, Ohio.

Elsie King
1922-2000
Funeral services will be held today, Friday, for Elsie King, 77, who died Wednesday, July 26, at her Hager Hill residence.
Mrs. King was born August 24, 1922, in Johnson County, to the late Elzie Francis and Rhoda Alice Clark Blevins. She was a retired custodian from Family Bank.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward King, on March 10, 1991.
Surviving are two brothers, Calvin C. “George” Blevins of Staffordsville and Herbert Blevins of Dayton, Ohio.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. at Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville, with Preston Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Betty Daniels
1930-2000
Thealka resident Betty Jo Daniels, 70, died Saturday, July 22, at Highlands Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Daniels was born February 4, 1930, in Johnson County, to the late Claude and Ethel Blair Colvin. She worked at the Dry Cleaners.
Surviving are her husband, Earl Daniels Jr.; one son, Terry Daniels of River; two sisters, Debbie Colvin and Janet Sue Jones of Englewood, Ohio; and five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 25, at Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel, with Steve Rose officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery at Staffordsville.

Lacy Waller
1938-2000
Jones-Preston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Lacy Waller, 61, who died Friday, July 21, at Williamson Memorial Hospital, Williamson, West Virginia.
Mr. Waller was born November 16, 1938, to the late Cecil and Minnie Crum Waller. He was a janitor.
Surviving are one son, Lacy Waller Jr. of River; three daughters, Edith Maynard, Ann Horn and Kathy Horn, all of Inez; nine brothers, Harold of Meally, Darrell and Prince, both of Hager Hill, Hubert and Noel, both of Sitka, Orville of Boons Camp, Theodore and Bill, both of Tennessee, and Cecil Jr. of Michigan; one sister, Vernie Fannin of Meally; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 24, at Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel, with Isaac Rowland officiating.
Burial was in the family cemetery at Stambaugh Branch.

Rusha Dye
1908-2000
Former Johnson County resident Rusha Dye, 92, of Alger, Ohio, died Tuesday, July 18, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima, Ohio.
Mrs. Dye was born June 19, 1908, in Paintsville, to the late Elzie “Buck” and Rhoda Clark Blevins. She attended Ada Full Gospel Church.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, John D. Dye, on September 20, 1976; four brothers, Kite, Azel, Pluma and Foster Blevins; and a sister, Runa Dye.
Surviving are five sons, James O. Dye of Dunkirk, Ohio, Elmer Dye of Dola, Ohio, Virgil Dye of Ada, Ohio, Paris Dye of Jenera, Ohio, and Robert Dye of Ada; two daughters, Patricia Holbrook of Alger, and Ann Zuercher of Ada; two brothers, George Blevins of Barnetts Creek and Herbert Blevins of Dayton, Ohio; one sister, Elsie King of Leander; and 27 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 21, at Ada Full Gospel Church, with Rev. James Holbrook officiating.
Burial was in Preston Cemetery at Alger.

Judith Williams
1942-2000
Judith A. Prichard Williams, 57, died Friday, July 21, at Brown County Hospital, Georgetown, Ohio.
Mrs. Williams was born April 3, 1942, to Gypsy M. Prichard and the late Lewis Milton Prichard. She was a teacher for West Clermont School District.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, James M. Williams III; and a brother, Jack Milton Prichard.
Surviving are her mother, of Louisa; one son, James M. Williams IV of Milford, Ohio; one daughter, Susan Nicole Lloyd of Middletown, Ohio; one sister, June Lynn Davis of Paintsville; and one grandson.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 24, at Bethel United Methodist Church.
Burial followed in Tate Township Cemetery, with Kennedy-Stevens Funeral Home of Bethel, Ohio, in charge of arrangements.

Thomas Wells
1943-2000
Thomas Roger Wells, 57, died Monday, July 24, at Highlands Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Wells was born March 27, 1943, in Johnson County, to the late Curtis and Verna Phipps Wells. He was a machinist.
Surviving are one brother, Morris Wells of Van Lear.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, July 25, at Highland Memorial Park, with B. Joe Hill officiating.
Jones-Preston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Edna Goble
1933-2000
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 25, for Edna Goble, 67, of DeBord, who died Friday, July 21, in Columbus, Ohio.
Mrs. Goble was born January 14, 1933, in Johnson County, to the late Wiley and Hattie Adams Daniels. She was a member of Rockcastle Church of Christ.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Ernest Goble, on January 22, 1991.
Surviving are two sons, Ernest Goble of Columbus and Mark Goble of Homewood, Alabama; five brothers, George Daniels of Tutor Key, Denny Allen Daniels of Whitehouse, Frank and Jim Daniels, both of Columbus, and Harold Daniels of Zanesville, Ohio; one sister, Nancy Lamb of Columbus; and two grandchildren.
Officiating at services at Preston Funeral Home Chapel was J.M. Scott.
Burial was in Goble Cemetery at Debord.

Jean Connery
1925-2000
Paintsville Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Jean Connery, 75, who died Saturday, July 22, at Mountain Manor Nursing Home.
Mrs. Connery was born January 24, 1925, in Plato Center, Illinois, to the late R.E. and Sarah Knight Friel. She was a customer service representative.
Surviving are two sons, Jack Connery of East Dubuque, Illinois, and Don Connery of Edna, Kansas; two daughters, Cinder Connery-Salyer of Paintsville and Peggy Connery of Lexington; two sisters, Lyda Moore of Parker, Colorado, and Jeanette Sabin of Crystal Lake, Illinois; and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral mass will be held Saturday, July 29, at 11 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, with Fr. Terance Hoppenjans officiating.

Elaine Carr
1922-2000
Preston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Elaine Carr, 78, who died Friday, July 21, at her Flat Gap residence.
Mrs. Carr was born July 10, 1922, in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, to the late Louis Carl and Henrietta Weigel Koenig. She was a member of Little Paint Church of God.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gerald S. Carr, in 1984.
Surviving are two sons, Gerry Stephen and John Edward Carr, both of Flat Gap; four daughters, Elizabeth Rigsby of Flat Gap, Miriam C. Jackson of Staffordsville, Judith Elaine Carr-Back of Griffithville, Arkansas, and Rebecca C. McCarthy of Nicholasville; and 21 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 24, at Preston Funeral Home Chapel, with John Back, Wayne Burch and Direl Fyffe officiating.
Burial was in Carr Family Cemetery at Flat Gap.
