Graveside services were held Saturday, Dec. 10, 1:30 p.m. at the Dennison cemetery at Boons Camp, Ky., for Lafe Mollett Jr., 73, of Logan, W.Va., who passed away Thursday, Dec. 8 at Logan Regional Medical Center in Logan.
Mr. Mollett was born Feb. 10, 1932 in Johnson County, Ky., son of the late Lafe Sr. and Verlie Mills Mollett. He was a coal miner.
Surviving are his wife, Yvonne Dennison Mollett of Logan; five sons, Lafe, Waylen, and Joseph Mollett, all of McConnell, W.Va., Maurice Mollett of Stollings, W.Va., and Kenneth Mollett of Johnson County; one daughter, Verlie Mollett of McConnell; two brothers, Ralph Mollett of Mudfork, W.Va., and Delmar Mollett of Nippa, Ky.; one sister, Martha Jane Collins of Ohio; and eight grandchildren.

Mary Lou Cantrell
1937-2005
Funeral services were held Sunday, October 16, 1 p.m. at the Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel for Mary Lou Cantrell, 68, of Oil Springs, Ky., who passed away Thursday, October 13 at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky.
Mrs. Cantrell was born March 2, 1937 in Magoffin County, Ky., daughter of the late John and Sissy Colvin Bailey. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her husband, Thomas Ireland Cantrell of Oil Springs, Ky.; one daughter, Vickie (Lonnie) Kelly of Oil Springs, Ky.; one brother, Vernon Bailey of Springfield, Ohio; two sisters, Drexel Gillim of Chillicothe, Ohio, and Fern Williams of Springfield, Ohio; one granddaughter, Sherry Lynn Combs of Walton, Ky.; and two great-grandsons, Drew and Kyle Combs, both of Walton, Ky.
The service was officiated by Elders Buster Blanton and John R. Pelphrey, with burial in the Cantrell Family cemetery at Oil Springs, Ky.

Charles F. Howard
1936-2005
Services were held Tuesday, October 18 at the Martin cemetery at Garrett, Ky. for Charles F. Howard, 69, of Garrett, Ky., who passed away Saturday, October 15 at Highlands Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg, Ky.
Mr. Howard was born October 2, 1936 in Garrett, Ky., son of Polly Coburn Howard and the late Harliss Howard. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Aileen Howard; four brothers, Danny, Joe, Keith, and Pete Howard; one sister, Judy; and one grandson, William Chase Salyer.
Surviving in addition to his mother are four sons, Mike (Gwen) Howard, Kenneth “Kimble” (Darlene) Howard, Steven “Cecil” Howard and Terry (Marcia) Howard; three daughters, Peggy (Denzil) Turner, Donna (Chris) Bradley and Tina (Ray) Salyer; three brothers, Gordon, Frankie and Gary Howard; four sisters, Betty Layne, Rinki Salmons, Patty Osborne and Deana Longpre; and 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.

Iva Bailey

Funeral services were held Saturday, October 15, 1 p.m. at the Preston Funeral Home for Iva Bailey, 89, of Ashland, Ky., who passed away Wednesday, October 12 at the Woodland Oaks Nursing Facility in Ashland, Ky.
Mrs. Bailey was born November 28, 1915 in Johnson County, Ky., daughter of the late Langely and Dolla Dixon Preston. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Hestil Borders, and second husband, Joe Lee Bailey.
Surviving are one son, Charles Borders of Columbus, Ohio; two step-sons, Joe Dean and Bob Bailey, both of Martin, Ky.; two daughters, Alice Rohr of Ashland, Ky., and Wanda Sue Burns of Richmond, Ky.; three sisters, Erie Brown of Wittensville, Ky., Mary Lusk of Ashland, Ky., and Hermalee Lemaster of Lexington, Ky.; and 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Pete Miller, with burial in the Dixon cemetery at Wittensville, Ky.

Phillip Wells
1955-2005
Funeral services were held Friday, October 7, 11 a.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Phillip Wells, 50, of Van Lear, Ky., who passed away Monday, October 3 at his residence.
Mr. Wells was born February 28, 1955 in Defiance, Ohio, son of the late Charles Sr. and Minnie Sue Wells. He was a coal miner. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Kathy Wells.
Surviving are two sons, Phillip Jason Wells of David, Ky., and Cody Michael Nelson of West Virginia; one daughter, Darla Jarvis of Paintsville, Ky.; two step-daughters, Dawn Michelle Spaulding of West Virginia and Lisa Ann Patrick of McDowell, Ky.; one brother, Charles R. Wells of Van Lear, Ky.; one sister, Lisa Gaye Horn of Louisa, Ky.; and six grandchildren.
The service was officiated by David Wells, with burial in the Wells cemetery on Sycamore Creek at Van Lear, Ky.

Raymond Garnet Goble
1922-2005
Services were held Monday, October 17, noon at the Burchett cemetery at Auxier, Ky., for Raymond Garnet Goble, 83, of Prestonsburg, Ky., who passed away Friday, October 14 at Cabell-Huntington Hospital in Huntington, W.Va.
Mr. Goble was born May 19, 1922 in Lancer, Ky., son of the late Bannie Lee and Nettie Burchett Goble. He was employed by the Floyd County Board of Education as a school bus driver, and was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Surviving are one son, Kurby Goble of Daven Port, Fla.; one step-daughter, Tina Faye Goble of Prestonsburg, Ky.; two sisters, Elvia Mae Blackburn of Dayton, Ohio, and Bessie Faye Hager of Cincinnati, Ohio; and one grandchild.
Military rites were provided by the Auxier D.A.V.

Victoria A. Allen
1924-2005
Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 5 at Owen Funeral Home in Louisville, Ky., for Victoria A. Allen, 81, of Louisville, Ky., who passed away Sunday, October 2 at Caritas Medical Center.
Mrs. Allen was born January 16, 1924 in Johnson County, Ky., daughter of the late Rexford R. and Bertha Blanton Trimble. She graduated from Flat Gap High School in 1941, and was a graduate of Mayo State Vocational School and a Kentucky Colonel. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl W. Allen; an infant daughter, Carla Louise Trimble; and one brother, Rexford R. Trimble Jr.
Surviving are one brother, John H. (Ruth) Trimble of Ashland, Ky.; two sisters, Betty Jo Burchett of Louisville, Ky., and Anna Martha (O.D.) Williams of Columbus, Ohio; four nephews, two nieces, three great-nephews, five great-nieces and one great-great-niece; and Judy Wachtel, a member of her extended family.
Burial was in the Resthaven Cemetery.

Funeral services were held Sunday, August 14, 3:30 p.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Jeremy Clayton Runyon, 19, of River, Ky., who passed away Thursday, August 11.
Mr. Runyon was born October 21, 1985 in Johnson County, Ky., son of Jerry Thomas Runyon and Debbie Fitch.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his financee, Jennifer Brown; maternal grandparents, Garland and Margaret Fitch of Thealka, Ky.; paternal grandparents, Bill and Janet Runyon of Paintsville, Ky.; one brother, Tanner Fitch of Thealka, Ky.; and one sister, Mallory Branham of Paintsville, Ky.
The service was officiated by Wayne Price, with burial in the Highland Memorial Park of Staffordsville, Ky.
