Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 13, 11 a.m. at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Bobby Ray Castle, 55, of Winchester, Ky., who passed away Wednesday, Feb. 11 in Winchester.
Mr. Castle was born July 2, 1953 in Johnson County, Ky., son of Louise Slone Castle and the late Arcus Castle. He was a clerk with Quality Inn.
Surviving in addition to his mother are one son, Alex Castle of Wittensville, Ky.; two step-sons, Michael Daniel of Salyersville, Ky., and Anthony Daniel of Staffordsville, Ky.; one brother, Cline Salyer of Nippa, Ky.; one sister, Kathy Castle of Thealka, Ky.; one granddaughter, and one step-grandson.
The service will be officiated by Terry Lykins, with burial following in the Clark Castle cemetery at Nippa.

Janice K. Pittman Mire

Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 12, 1 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Paintsville, Ky., for Janice K. Pittman Mire, 62, of Paintsville, who passed away Sunday, Feb. 8 at Highlands Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg, Ky.
Mrs. Mire was born Aug. 23, 1946 in Johnson County, Ky., daughter of Elzie Thomas Pittman and the late Gearldine “Jeri” Hickman Pittman. She was owner of Ponderosa Restaurant.
Surviving in addition to her father are her husband, Maurice P. Mire of Paintsville; one brother, Joseph David Pittman of Lexington, Ky.; one aunt, Deanna Falcon of Thibodaux, LA; one nephew, Floyd Alexander Pittman; and one niece, Victoria Pittman.
The service was officiated by Wesley Stedtefeld, with burial in the Highland Memorial Park cemetery at Staffordsville, Ky.

Patsy V. Miller

Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, April 5, 11 a.m. at the St. Michaels Catholic Church in Paintsville, Ky., for Patsy V. Miller, 74, of Paintsville, who passed away Saturday, April 1 at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, Ky.
Mrs. Miller was born February 14, 1932 in Johnson County, Ky., daughter of the late Roy and Bridget McCoart VanHoose. She was a medical clerk.
Surviving are one son, John Doug (Rita) Miller of Hager Hill, Ky.; two daughters, Martha Ann (Billy) Ward and Joyce Miller, both of Lexington; one sister, Mary Jo Blackburn of Pikeville, Ky.; and six grandchildren.
The service will be officiated by Father Hoppenjans, with burial in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville, Ky.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 4, 1 p.m. at Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Ruth Wallen Tackett Stambaugh, 78, of Paintsville, Ky., who passed away Friday, March 31 at the Letcher Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Whitesburg, Ky.
Mrs. Stambaugh was born April 23, 1927 in Johnson County, Ky., daughter of the late William and Bessie Alma Persinger Wallen. She was retired from South Central Bell Telephone Company. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Elmer Tackett and Lowell Garfield Stambaugh.
Surviving are one son, William Francis Tackett of Paintsville; two daughters, Myra Ellen Tackett of Oil Springs, Ky., and Lana Karen Greer of Jeremiah, Ky.; two step-brothers, Billy Fairchild of Bristol, Tenn., and Burns Fairchild of Frankfort, Ky.; four step-sisters, Rosemary Gearer of Wedgefield, S.C., Helen Frye of Chapel Hill, N.C., Anna Mae Picklesimer of Zanesville, Ohio, and Janet Louise Wallen of Jonesville, Ky.; and 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Pete Grigsby, with burial in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville, Ky.

Alberta Cain

Graveside services were held Sunday, March 26, 1 p.m. at the Mollett Family cemetery in Boons Camp, Ky., for Alberta Cain, 81, of Dayton, Ohio, and formerly of Paintsville, Ky., who passed away Thursday, March 23 at Hospice of Dayton in Dayton.
Mrs. Cain was born Aug. 11, 1924 in Paintsville, daughter of the late Richard Sammons and Maggie Hager. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Cain; two brothers, Eddie and Henry; and eight sisters, Angie, Mary, Alka, Mayme, Rosie, Etheleen, Myrtle and Minnie. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are one son, David Cain of Fairborn, Ohio; two daughters, Deborah Cooperman of Denver, Colo., and Leslie Klein of Cincinnati, Ohio; and three grandchildren, Sam Klein and Benjamin and Spencer Cooperman.

Genevieve ‘Jenny’ Bizzack

Funeral services were held Monday, March 27, 2:30 p.m. at the Clark Funeral Home in Frankfort, Ky., for Genevieve “Jenny” Bizzack, 85, who passed away Wednesday, March 22.
Mrs. Bizzack was born Aug. 14, 1920 in Winchester, Ky., daughter of the late James P. and Estella Mae Wilkinson. She was a well-known artist, musician and collector of antiques. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Walter Wilkinson.
Surviving are one son, John W. (Carole) Bizzack, and two grandchildren, Jason and Stacey Bizzack, all of Lexington, Ky.
Burial was in the Lexington cemetery in Lexington.

Jeffrey Sutton Goggans
1961-2006
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 29, 2 p.m. at Mayo Memorial United Methodist Church in Paintsville, Ky., for Jeffrey Sutton Goggans, 44, of Paintsville, who passed away Sunday, March 26 at his residence.
Mr. Goggans was born Dec. 8, 1961 in Atlanta, Ga., son of Lavaugh T. “Bunk” and Glenda Barnett Goggans. He was employed with Goggans Construction Company and was a member of Mayo Memorial United Methodist Church.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his former wife, Tracy Goggans; two sons, Elijah and Cole Goggans, both of Staffordsville, Ky.; one brother, Dr. Phillip Neal (Jennifer) Goggans of Seattle, Wash.; and one nephew and two nieces.
The service will be officiated by the Rev. John Boyd, with entombment following in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville.

Kenneth Pennington
1948-2006
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 29, 11 a.m. at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home in Paintsville, Ky., for Kenneth Pennington, 57, of Van Lear, Ky., who passed away Monday, March 27 at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, W.Va.
Mr. Pennington was born October 22, 1948 in Pike County, Ky., son of the late Bailey and Irene Honeycutt Pennington. He was a coal miner and a U.S. veteran. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, April Pennington.
Surviving are his son, Timothy Pennington of Van Lear; two brothers, Harry and Gary Pennington, both of Van Lear; two sisters, Deloris Burke and Wilma Bowens, both of Van Lear; and one grandchild.
The service will be officiated by Roger Hill, with burial in the Grass Family Cemetery. Chapter 18 DAV Auxier will be conducting a military service at the cemetery.
