Funeral services were held Monday, April 24, 1 p.m. at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home For Barbara Sue Robinson, 72, of Paintsville, Ky., who passed away Thursday, April 20 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville.
Mrs. Robinson was born Feb. 2, 1934 in Magoffin County, Ky., daughter of the late G.V. and Lena Jones Mayo. She was a retired nurse with the Paintsville Hospital.
Surviving are two daughters, Ginger Favinger of Oil Springs, Ky., and Jamie Mason of Suffolk, Va.; and three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The service was officiated by Larry Blair, with burial in the Jones Family cemetery at Sitka, Ky.

Ray Blair
1926-2006
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 25, 11 a.m. at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home for Ray Blair, 80, of East Point, Ky., who passed away Saturday, April 22 at Highlands Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg, Ky.
Mr. Blair was born Jan. 18, 1926 in Johnson County, Ky., son of the late Leonard and Jane Marshal Blair. He was a retired coal miner. He was also preceded in death by one son, Timothy Blair.
Surviving are his wife, Kathy Blair of East Point; five sons, David Michael, James Ray, Danny Ray, Donald Earl, and Douglas Edward Blair, all of East Point; five daughters, Marsha Sue Clendenon, Sandra L. Howard, and Debra Elaine Blair, all of Dayton, Ohio, and Brenda Ruth Thornsbury and Stephanie Taylor, both of East Point; two sisters, Rushie Blair and Dora Mae Auxier, both of East Point; and 25 grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Leroy Kestner, with burial in the Blair Family cemetery at East Point.

Carl Thomas Patton
1939-2006
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 22, 11 a.m. at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home of Hager Hill, Ky., for Carl Thomas Patton, 67, of East Point, Ky., who passed away Thursday, April 20 at Highlands Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg, Ky.
Mr. Patton was born Feb. 19, 1939 in Bland, Va., son of the late Edgar and Lillie Mae Warden Patton. He was a coal dozer operator. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Edward Patton.
Surviving are his wife, Susan McDaniel Patton of East Point; two sons, Carl Thomas Patton Jr. of West Liberty, Ky., and John Hubert Patton of East Point; one daughter, Annie Mae Young of East Point; eight brothers, Morris, George, Ray and Jack Patton, all of Rural Retreat, Va., Rex Patton of Cedar Springs, Va., Jimmy Patton of Cedar Grove, Va., and Bobby Patton of Sugar Grove, Va.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and seven step-children, 17 step-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren.
The service will be officiated by Buster Hayton, with burial in the Gethsemane Gardens of Prestonsburg, Ky.

Helen Ainonette Rice Belcher

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 15, 1 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Paintsville, Ky., for Helen Ainonette Rice Belcher, 77, of Stambaugh, Ky., who passed away Wednesday, April 12 at the Markey Cancer Center in Lexington, Ky.
Mrs. Belcher was born Dec. 17, 1928 in Johnson County, Ky., daughter of the late John Haden Rice and Nellie Louise Stam-baugh. She was a retired school teacher. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Rosa Nell Rose.
Surviving are her husband, Jonah Belcher of Stambaugh; one son, Chris (Dena) Belcher of Stambaugh; one sister, Cecilia Ann Picklesimer of Paintsville; and two grandsons, Joshua Ryan and Jared Dalton Belcher.
The service will be officiated by Wesley D. Stedtefeld, with burial in the Belcher-Rice cemetery at Stambaugh.

Shirley B. Conley

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 14, 11 a.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Shirley B. Conley, 87, of Wittensville, Ky., who passed away Tuesday, April 11 at her residence.
Mrs. Conley was born Nov. 27, 1918 in Lawrence County, Ky., daughter of the late Daniel G. and Lydia Borders Brown. She was a retired school teacher. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Tom Walter Conley; four sisters, Mabel Brown Daniels, Kathleen Brown, Ida Mae Brown, and Marvel Brown Boyd; and one brother, Daniel Brown Jr.
Surviving are one son, Jerry Layne (Sue) Daniels of Wittensville, two grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and one step-granddaughter.
The service will be officiated by Johnny Estep, with burial in the Border Family cemetery at Ulysses, Ky.

William ‘Bill’ Charles Browning
1953-2006
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 15, 11 a.m. at the Highland Memorial Park for William “Bill” Charles Brown-ing, 53, of Lowmansville, Ky., who passed away Thursday, April 13 at his residence.
Mr. Browning was born Feb. 22, 1953 in Martin, Ky., son of the late Bill and Betty Jo Browning. He was co-owner of the Bargain Barn Auction House in Lowmansville, and a member of the Kentucky Auctioneer Association.
Surviving are his wife, Connie Browning of Lowmansville; two sons, Willliam Todd Browning of Price, Ky., and Duane Case of Sparta, Tenn.; one sister, Katie B. Woody of Tutor Key, Ky.; two grandchildren, Savannah and Christopher Cade; one nephew, Chad Woody; and two great-nephews, Chad Dalton and Logan Chase Woody.
The service will be officiated by Ted Dawson and Bob Collins, with burial in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville, Ky.

Joe Allen Lyon
Joe Allen Lyon, 66, husband of Crispina R. Lyon, died Saturday, April 8, 2006. Born in Keaton, Ky., he was a son of the late Tivis and Inez Ross Lyon. A graduate of Paintsville High School and Mayo Technical School, he received his BS and MS degrees from Eastern Kentucky University. He was a retired vocational analyst with ARAMCO in Saudi Arabia, and had also worked for Ashland Oil and Harrison County Vocational School. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Tivis J. Lyon Jr.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Charles Allen (Marina) Lyon of Lexington, Ky.; one step-son, Alan Lyon, with the U.S. Marine Corps; one sister, Cara Lyon (Eric David) Hall of Allen, Ky.; two brothers, Russel Kerlin (Fay) Lyon of Huntington, W.Va., and Michael Ross (Charlene) Lyon of Purlear, N.C.; and one granddaughter, Anastasia Lyon.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 15, 2 p.m. at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home in Paintsville, Ky.
Phyllis Ann Rowland
1943-2006
Funeral services were held Friday, April 7, 1 p.m. at the Red Bush Enterprise Baptist Church for Phyllis Ann Rowland, 63, of Michigan, who passed away Monday, April 3 at the Mecosta County Medical Center, Big Rapids.
Mrs. Rowland was born Dec. 17, 1943, daughter of the late Claude and Sophie Keeton. She was also preceded in death by one son, Ferland Rowland, and two brothers, Lloyd and Earl Keeton.
Surviving are three sons, Darren (Wendy) and Teddy (Pebble) Rowland of Flat Rock, Mich., and Doyle Rowland of Carleton, Mich.; two daughters, Dolly (Les) Lucas of Bitely, Mich., and Connie Owens of Garden City, Mich.; three brothers, Gene, Jack and Lohman Keeton; two sisters, Judy and Julie; and 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Burial was in the Keeton Family cemetery at Relief, Ky.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 4, 1 p.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Ruth Wallen Tackett Stambaugh, 78, of Paintsville, Ky., who passed away Friday, March 31 at the Letcher Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Whitesburg, Ky.
Mrs. Stambaugh was born April 23, 1927 in Johnson County, Ky., daughter of the late William and Bessie Alma Persinger Wallen. She was retired from South Central Bell Telephone Company. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Elmer Tackett and Lowell Garfield Stambaugh.
Surviving are one son, William Francis Tackett of Paintsville; two daughters, Myra Ellen Tackett of Oil Springs, Ky., and Lana Karen Greer of Jeremiah, Ky.; two step-brothers, Billy Fairchild of Bristol, Tenn., and Burns Fairchild of Frankfort, Ky.; three sisters, Rosemary Gearer of Wedgefield, S.C., Helen Frye of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Anna Mae Picklesimer of Zanesville, Ohio; one step-sister, Janet Louise Wallen of Jonesville, Ky.; and 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Pete Grigsby, with burial in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville, Ky.
