Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 3, 1 p.m. at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home in Paintsville, Ky., for Norman Fred Murphy, 64, of Van Lear, Ky., who passed away Wednesday, May 31 at Highlands Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg, Ky.
Mr. Murphy was born Sept. 28, 1941 in Johnson County, Ky., son of the late Leroy Murphy and Maudie Allen. He was a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Jannetta Murphy.
Surviving are two sons, Freddie Lee and Robert Allen Murphy, both of Van Lear; two brothers, Lester Murphy of Auxier, Ky., and Roger Murphy of Van Lear; one sister, Hester Bowling of Van Lear; and two grandchildren.
The service will be officiated by James Kelly Caudill and Jerry Burchett, with burial in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville, Ky.

Ora Ann Lemaster Baker
1931-2006
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 27, 11 a.m. at the Staffordsville Free Will Baptist Church for Ora Ann Lemaster Baker, 74, of Paintsville, Ky., who passed away Wednesday, May 24 at her residence.
Mrs. Baker was born Dec. 4, 1931 in Johnson County, Ky., daughter of the late Freddie and Rita Ward Lemaster. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her husband, Bill Baker of Paintsville; four sons, Larry (Beatrice) Sergent and Michael (Jaime) Sergent, both of Paintsville, and Carl Lee (Tracey) Sergent and Eddie Sergent, both Staffordsville, Ky.; two daughters, Teresa (Jimmy) Ratliff of Staffordsville and Dede Sergent of Paintsville; one step-daughter, Connie Pelfrey of Staffordsville; one step-son, Billy Ray Baker of Thelma, Ky.; one special sister, Patty Conley of Staffordsville; and nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by John Michael Blanton, Jimmy Price and Doug Crider, with burial in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville.

Barbara Sue Robinson

Funeral services were held Monday, April 24, 1 p.m. at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home For Barbara Sue Robinson, 72, of Paintsville, Ky., who passed away Thursday, April 20 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville.
Mrs. Robinson was born Feb. 2, 1934 in Magoffin County, Ky., daughter of the late G.V. and Lena Jones Mayo. She was a retired nurse with the Paintsville Hospital.
Surviving are two daughters, Ginger Favinger of Oil Springs, Ky., and Jamie Mason of Suffolk, Va.; and three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The service was officiated by Larry Blair, with burial in the Jones Family cemetery at Sitka, Ky.

Ray Blair
1926-2006
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 25, 11 a.m. at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home for Ray Blair, 80, of East Point, Ky., who passed away Saturday, April 22 at Highlands Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg, Ky.
Mr. Blair was born Jan. 18, 1926 in Johnson County, Ky., son of the late Leonard and Jane Marshal Blair. He was a retired coal miner. He was also preceded in death by one son, Timothy Blair.
Surviving are his wife, Kathy Blair of East Point; five sons, David Michael, James Ray, Danny Ray, Donald Earl, and Douglas Edward Blair, all of East Point; five daughters, Marsha Sue Clendenon, Sandra L. Howard, and Debra Elaine Blair, all of Dayton, Ohio, and Brenda Ruth Thornsbury and Stephanie Taylor, both of East Point; two sisters, Rushie Blair and Dora Mae Auxier, both of East Point; and 25 grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Leroy Kestner, with burial in the Blair Family cemetery at East Point.

Clara Kay Mayes

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 7, 11 a.m. at the Highland cemetery in Oilton, Okla., for Clara Kay Mayes, 97, of Zephyrhills, Fla., formerly of Blaine, Ky., who passed away Friday, Feb. 27.
Mrs. Mayes was born Oct. 2, 1911 in Alabama, daughter of the late William Nelson and Martha Mosely Pate. She was also preceded in death by her husband, M.M. “Bud” Mayes; one son, Larry Bruch Mayes; one daughter, Jeanie Wallin; one grandson, Larry Dale Mayes; two brothers, William Bruce and Roy E. Pate; and one sister, Venia Gleason.
Surviving are one daughter, June Harris of St. Louis, Mo.; two sons, William Leroy (Marnell) Mayes and Adean M. (Nancy) Mayes, all of Zephryhills; one brother, William Nelson “Bill” Pate of Gainesville, Texas; and 14 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren; and dear friend, Phyllis West of Louisa, Ky.

Charles Andrew ‘Andy’ Stapleton

Funeral services were held Sunday, March. 1, noon at the Baker Branch Free Will Baptist Church for Charles Andrew “Andy” Stapleton, 32, of Tutor Key, Ky., who passed away Thursday, Feb. 26 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville, Ky.
Mr. Stapleton was born Aug. 20, 1976 in Floyd County, Ky., son of Curtis and Sue Collins Stapleton Jr. He was a self-employed contractor and he was a member of the Baker Branch Free Will Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife, Misty Collins Stapleton of Tutor Key; one son, Jacob Andrew Stapleton, and one daughter, Kaitylyn Sierra Stapleton, both of Tutor Key; one brother, Matthew Stapleton of Tutor Key; and paternal grandfather, Curtis Stapleton Sr.; and maternal grandmother, Maggie Collins.
The service was officiated by James Roger VanHoose and Venny VanHoose, with burial in the Stapleton cemetery at Tutor Key.

Edward Ray Lambe

Funeral services were held Sunday, March 1, 11 a.m. at the Chestnut Grove Enterprise Baptist Church for Edward Ray Lambe, 46, of Lowmansville, Ky., who passed away Thursday, Feb. 26 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Huntington, W.Va.
Mr. Lambe was born Jan. 2, 1963 in Huntington, W.Va., son of Nancy Lambe of Lowmansville and the late Russell Henderson Lambe. He was a self-employed landscaper.
Surviving in addition to his mother are three brothers, Mike and David Lambe, both of Barboursville, W.Va., and Rick Lambe of Huntington, W.Va.; and three sisters, Kathy Schmidt of Boca Raton, Fla., and Linda DeWeese and Ruth Abbus, both of Huntington.
The service was officiated by Terry Conley.

William Alfred Rice

Funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 22, 2 p.m. at the Highland Church of Christ in Paintsville, Ky., for William Alfred Rice, 71, of Sitka, Ky., who passed away Thursday, Feb. 19 at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky.
Mr. Rice was born June 6, 1937 in Martin County, Ky., son of the late Arthur Alton and Elsine Setser Rice. He was the retired owner of Alfred Rice Trucking Company.
Surviving are his wife, Grace L. Workman Rice of Sitka; one son, James Martin (Wilma) Rice of Sitka; and two step-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Jerry Scott, with burial in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordville, Ky.
