Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 19, 11 a.m. at the Fish Trap United Baptist Church in Staffordsville, Ky., for James Michael O'Bryan, 56, of Nicholasville, formerly of Johnson County, Ky., who passed away Sunday, July 16.
Mr. O'Bryan was the son of the late Ervin and Opal May O'Bryan. He was the former owner of O'Bryan Dairy Distributing and was a member of the Fish Trap United Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Claudia Ann O'Bryan and two sisters, Phyllis O'Bryan and Brenda Lewis.
Surviving are his wife, Glenda Staniford O'Bryan of Nicholasville; two sons, James Michael (Amanda) O'Bryan II of Sellersburg, Ind. and Patrick Kyle (Kelly Coleman) O'Bryan of Jeffersonville, Ind.; five brothers, Kenneth, Robert (Lillian), Roger (Diane), Randall (Linda), and Rick (Anita) O'Bryan; mother-in-law, Edna Staniford; special brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-law; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
The service will be officiated by Sammy Reed, with burial in the O'Bryan Family Cemetery.

Deborah Lynn Carrico 1952-2006
Graveside services were held Friday, July 14, 11 a.m. at the Highland Memorial Gardens at South Point, Ohio, for Deborah Lynn Carrico, 53, of Richmond Hill, Ga., formerly of Proctorville, Ohio, who passed away Sunday, July 9 at her residence.
Mrs. Carrico was the daughter of the late Everett and Audrey Phelps Huneycutt, and the granddaughter of Kent and Edna Phelps of Van Lear, Ky. She was employed as an administrative assistant with the City of Savannah Recorders Court for the last 16 years. She was also preceded in death by her father-in-law, Earl Carrico.
Surviving are her husband, Ronald Carrico; two brothers, Larry (Jeanie) Huneycutt of Columbus, Ohio and Gary E. Huneycutt of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Denise Trippy of Columbus and Regenia (David) Kidd of Proctorville, Ohio; her step-mother, Betty Huneycutt of Proctorville; her mother-in-law, Ruth Carrico; three sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.

Marilyn Conville

Funeral services were held Monday, July 17, 2 p.m. at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Marilyn Conville, 64, of Quitman, La., who passed away Wednesday, July 12 in Ruston, La.
Mrs. Conville was born June 14, 1942 in Paintsville, Ky., daughter of the late Marion and Pearl Stambaugh Burchett.
Surviving are her husband, Oscar Conville of North Hodge, La.; one daughter, Robin Mitchell of Dallas, Texas; one sister, Louise Adamaitis of Miramar, Fla. and two granddaughters.
The service was officiated by James Roger VanHoose, with burial in the Johnson County Memorial cemetery at Staffordsville, Ky.

William Sherman Bayes

Funeral services were held Monday, July 17, 11 a.m. at the Oil Springs United Methodist Church at Oil Springs, Ky., for William Sherman Bayes, 78, of Paintsville, Ky., who passed away Friday, July 14 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Ky.
Mr. Bayes was born Oct. 24, 1927, son of the late Sam and Edna Collins Bayes.
Surviving are his wife, Wilma June Conley Bayes; two brothers, Carl and Charles Bayes, both of Forest, Ohio; one sister, Thelma Ruth Lester of Denver, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.
The service was officiated by the Rev. John Back, with burial in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville, Ky.

Gay J. Williams

Graveside services were held Tuesday, Sept. 26, 11 a.m. at the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville, Ky., for Gay J. Williams, 74, of Paintsville, Ky., who passed away Sunday, Sept. 24 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville, Ky.
Mrs. Williams was born Nov. 18, 1931 in Clendenin, W.Va., daughter of the late Alfred and Edith Shamblin Gandee. She was a housekeeping supervisor at a nursing home. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Frank Gandee.
Surviving are two daughters, Sandra (John E.) Boggs of Blaine, Ky., and Linda (Lee) Weddington of Oil Springs, Ky.; and three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Iris Joyce Swain

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 27, 11 a.m. at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel fro Iris Joyce Swain, 74, of Boons Camp, Ky., who passed away Monday, Sept. 25 at her residence.
Mrs. Swain was born March 28, 1932 in Logan County, W.Va., daughter of the late Benjamin and Rose Justice Moore. She was a cook.
Surviving are her husband, Orville “Bob” Swain of Boons Camp; three daughters, Rosemary Storberg of Boons Camp, Kathy Overlander of Akron, Ind., and Deborah Stevens of Lagro, Ind.; two brothers, Olah Nelson of Rapid City, S.D., and Jackie Parsons of Inez, Ky.; and 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
The service will be officiated by Claude Mollette, with burial in the Old Friendship Memorial Gardens at Williamsport, Ky.

James Bradley Burton

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 28, 11 a.m. at the Flat Gap Baptist Church at Flat Gap, Ky., for James Bradley Burton, 72, of Sitka, Ky., who passed away Sunday, Sept. 24 at Mountain Manor Nuirsing Home in Paintsville, Ky.
Mr. Burton was born Dec. 24, 1933 in Johnson County, Ky., son of the late Harmon Ulysses and Okie Castle Burton. He was a truck driver for East Kentucky Beverage.
Surviving is his wife, Magdalene Sparks Burton, and nieces and nephews.
The service will be officiated by Johnny Estep and Harold Salyers, with burial in the Sparks cemetery at Flat Gap.

Jerry Micheal Pelfrey

Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 21, 1 p.m. at the Little Mud Lick Church of God at Staffordsville, Ky., for Jerry Micheal Pelfrey, 47, of Staffordsville, who passed away Sunday, Sept. 17 at St. Joseph East Hospital in Lexington, Ky.
Mr. Pelfrey was born May 7, 1959, the son of Nell Blanton of Staffordville and the late William “Bill” Pelfrey. He was the owner of East Kentucky Fireworks.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Connie Baker Pelfrey of Staffordsville; his step-son, James Braden Campbell of Staffordsville; his step-father, Forrest Pelfrey Jr.; two brothers, Cliff and Jack Pelfrey, both of Staffordsville; and four nephews, one niece, and two step-nephews.
The service was officiated by the Revs. Tobe Wheeler and Roger Hill, with burial in the Johnson County Memorial cemetery at Staffordsville.

Juanita Sammons

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 26 at the Beard Mortuary in Huntington, W.Va., for Juanita Sammons, 73, of Huntington, who passed away Friday, Sept. 22 at Cabell-Huntington Hospital.
Mrs. Sammons was born April 25, 1933 in Leander, Ky., daughter of the late Charles and Grace May Carpenter. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Agnes Carpenter. She was co-founder of Wordworks Inc.
Surviving are three children, David (Cindy) Sammons of Columbus, Ga., Donna Sammons Carpenter of Boston, Mass., and Lake Sunapee, N.H., and John (Lora) Sammons of Ona, W.Va.; one brother, Jack Carpenter of Ashland, Ky.; one sister, Ruth Clay of Paintsville, Ky.; and four grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Minister Jeff Garrett.
