Retired teacher Wade Oliver Burchett, 76, died Saturday, July 3, at St. Joseph Hospital. Mr. Burchett was born March 27, 1923, in Floyd County, to the late Tom and Rebecca Burchett. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a VFW member.
Nola Daniels Huff, 93, died Sunday, July 4, at West Van Lear. Mrs. Huff was born to the late Harry and Caroline Music Daniels.
Nina Marie Williams of West Van Lear died Friday, July 2. Ms. Williams was born May 21, 1912, at Stambaugh, to the late David Powell Williams and Malta Stambaugh Williams. She graduated from Van Lear High School. She was well known in the county where in her last job she served as postmaster for West Van Lear. In the 1940s, Ms. Williams managed the Snack Bar on Church Street in Paintsville. Later in the 50s and 60s, she traveled in Tennessee and Kentucky, representing the Anne Vien Costume Jewelry Company of Atlanta, Georgia. Before becoming postmaster, she also taught cooking at Mayo Vocational School in Paintsville.
Yvonne Wells Reatherford, 63, of Prestonsburg, died Friday, July 2, at Riverview Manor Nursing Home in Prestonsburg. Mrs. Reatherford was born May 2, 1936, at Auxier, to the late Sherman and Emma Goble Wells. She was a nurses aide at Riverview Manor Nursing Home and a member of the Lancer Baptist Church.

Stephen Perry Hager, 90, a native of Paintsville, died Tuesday, July 6, at his home in San Diego, California. Mr. Hager was born April 23, 1909, to the late Eugene and Alice Perry Hager of Paintsville. Prior to his retirement, he was a prominent businessman in San Diego where he owned a retail display business. His clientele included major department stores in cities throughout the country, as well as numerous stores in foreign countries. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, having served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Former Johnson County resident Mitchell Conley, 85, died Sunday, July 11, at West View Manor, Wooster, Ohio. Mr. Conley, a resident of Greenup, was born April 29, 1914, in Johnson County, to the late Darius "Coonie" and Anna Ryland Conley. He was employed by Pipe & Steam Fitters Local 577 of Portsmouth, Ohio.

He retired from Phillips Petroleum after 30 years as a photographer and was a member of Abundance Life Fellowship.
Retired merchant Kenneth B. Williams, 90, died Friday, July 9, at Cabell-Huntington Hospital, Huntington, West Virginia. Mr. Williams was born in September 1908, at Inez, to the late Kelse B. and Tempie Powell Williams. He was self-employed.
