Funeral services were held June 11 at 1 p.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Morris Belknap Wells, 70, of Lake City, Fla., formerly of Van Lear, who passed away June 6 in Lake City.
He was born July 21, 1938 in Johnson County, son of the late Curtis Jackson Wells and Verna Phipps Wells. He was a retired machinist engineer at A. O. Smith Co., Mt. Sterling.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Gary Morris Wells, and one brother, Roger Wells.
He is survived by his former wife Mary Edith May; one daughter, Peggy B. Wells, Lake City; and four grandchildren, Justin Wells, Tiana Wright, Ashley Wells and Shea Spears.
Services were conducted by Donald Ray Caudill, with burial in the Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville.

Bruce R. Caird
1944-2009
Memorial services will be held at a later date for Bruce R. Caird, 64, of Paintsville, who died May 25 at his home.
He was born Nov. 11, 1944 in Ann Arbor, Mich., son of the late Reid and Ruth Jedele Caird. He was a coal mine blaster and a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by two sons, Adam B. and Allen J. Caird, both of Lexington; one daughter, Amanda Primm, Lexington; three granddaughters and one grandson.
Burial will be at Bethlehem Cemetery, Ann Arbor.

William Allen Lipes III
1971-2009
Funeral services were held June 8 in the chapel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home in Paintsville, for William Allen Lipes III, 38, of Paintsville, who passed away Saturday, June 6.
He was born April 20, 1971, son of William Lipes and Patty Ward. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Billie Karen Kimbler Lipes; two sons, Brandon Lipes, Ritchpatch, Va. and Dakota Allen Lipes, Hager Hill; three step-children, Brittany Webb, Chelsey Spears, and Brett Spears, all of Paintsville; two sisters Michelle Angle, Ritchpatch, Va., and Kathy Hiner, Covington, Va.; and two grand-daughters.
Services were conducted by Kenny Pelphrey and Terry Lykins, with arrangements under the direction of Phelps & Son Funeral Home, Paintsville.
John F. Blair
1938-2009
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 20, at 11 a.m. at the Tobias Funeral Home, Beavercreek Chapel, Beavercreek, Ohio, for John F. Blair, 71, of Beaver Creek, who passed away June 17.
He was was preceded in death by his parents, Buell and Emily Blair; one sister, Sue Caprio; and one brother, Willis Blair. He was retired from Fisel Construction.
He is survived by his wife, Geneva Grace Blair; three sons, Fred (Debbie) Blair, Lionel (Debbie) Blair, Don (Chrisi) Blair; five sisters, Janie Vento, Darlene Sanders, Wanda Castles, Anna Scarberry, and Terry Looper; two brothers, Richard Blair and Jimmy Blair; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The service will be conducted by Justin Looper, with interment in Valley View Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.

Kaitlin Elizabeth Daniels

Funeral services were held Monday, March 23, 11 a.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Kaitlin Elizabeth Daniels, 11, of Nippa, Ky., who passed away Thursday, March 19 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville, Ky.
Ms. Daniels was born July 4, 1997 in Floyd County, Ky., daughter of Roy and Kimberly VanHoose Daniels. She was a student at W.R. Castle Memorial Elementary School.
Surviving in addition to her parents are her maternal grandparents Peggy and Darrel Lemaster and Ken VanHoose; paternal grandparents John and Emma Daniels; and numerous uncles, aunts, and special friends.
The service was officiated by Denvil Mollette, with burial in the Highland Memorial Park cemetery at Staffordsville, Ky.

Randy Stapleton

Funeral services were held Monday, March 23, 1 p.m. at the Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel for Randy Stapleton, 55, of Flat Gap, Ky., who passed away Thursday, March 19 at the Hospice Center in Ashland, Ky.
Mr. Stapleton was born Oct. 17, 1953, son of the late Johnny and Marie Willidene Bunyard Stapleton. He was an automotive mechanic.
Surviving are his daughter, Vanessa Eldridge of Paintsville, Ky.; his son, Casey Stapleton of Flat Gap; two brothers, Paul Anthony and Terry Dean Stapleton, both of Flat Gap; two sisters, Helen Blanton and Kathy Murray, both of Flat Gap; and four grandchildren.
The service was officiated by the Revs. Tim Salyer and Harold Salyer, with burial following in the Johnson County Memorial cemetery at Staffordsville, Ky.

Mildred Elouise Meade Castle

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 25, 11 a.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Mildred Elouise Meade Castle, 71, of Wittensville, Ky., who passed away Monday, March 23 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville, Ky.
Mrs. Castle was born Dec. 21, 1937 in Johnson County, Ky., daughter of the late Gracie Adams Meade. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett “Buck” Castle, and her daughter, Mary Lee Castle Sexton.
Surviving are her brothers, Clifford Meade of Wheelersburg, Ohio, Curtis Meade of Akron, Ohio, and Carl Meade of Orlando, Fla.; one sister, Aileen Loudin of Akron; and two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Jerry Castle, with burial in the Clarke Castle cemetery at Nippa, Ky.

Virginia McCoy Franco

Graveside services will be held Monday, March 30, 2 p.m. at the Mountain View Memory Gardens at Maher, W.Va., for Virginia McCoy, 59, of San Antonio, Texas, formerly of Martin County, Ky., who passed away Monday, March 23 in San Antonio.
Mrs. McCoy was born Sept. 11, 1949 in Martin County, daughter of the late Arnold and Gaithel McCoy. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Arnold B. McCoy, and one sister, Evelyn Thompson.
Surviving are her husband, Sam Franco; one son, Brandit (Leaha) Franco of San Antonio; two daughters, Brandie (Selvin) Flores of Lytle, Texas, and Bandie Franco (Zach Jones) of San Antonio; siblings, Ransome McCoy, Kenneth McCoy, Andrew Delong, Emory Delong, Kathleen Simpkins, Doris Ward, Loretta Owens, Bernice McCoy, Ann Maynard and Tammy Hammond; and five grandchildren.
