Michael S. Hook
1975-2009
Services will be held Friday, April 17 at the Blankenship cemetery at Thelma, Ky., for Michael S. Hook, 34, who passed away Wednesday, April 8 at his residence.
Mr. Hook was born March 17, 1975, son of Linda Collins and the late Franklin Leroy Hook. He was also preceded in death by grandparents, Oscar and Bertha Blankenship and Barney and Helen Hook; stepfataher, Clyde Earl Collins and cousin, Angela Malone.
Surviving in addition to his mother are two brothers, Brian and Gary Hook; and many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The service will be officiated by the Rev. Louis Ferrari.
Arrangements under the direction of the Edwards Funeral Home of Columbus, Ohio.

Pat Picklesimer
1945-2009
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 14, 11 a.m. at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Pat Picklesimer, 63, of Sitka, Ky., who passed away Friday, April 10 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Huntington, W.Va.
Mrs. Picklesimer was born July 13, 1945 in Johnson County, Ky., daughter of the late Ruby Crislip Caudill. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Picklesimer. She was a member of God’s House of Prayer.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
The service was officiated by Johnny Skaggs, with burial in the family cemetery at Sitka.
Arrangements under the direction of the Preston Funeral Home of Paintsville, Ky.

Roger D. Young
1932-2009
A graveside service was held Monday, May 4 at 10 a.m. at Union-Udell cemetery in Ypsilanati Township, Mich. for Roger D. Young, 76, of Ypsilanti, who passed away April 30.
Mr. Young was born Aug. 25, 1932 in Van Lear, son of the late Thomas M. and Terry C. (Daniels) Young.
He was preceded in death by three children and 10 siblings.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Ann Tripp; four sons, George (Paula) Tripp, Tom (Karen) Tripp, Dennis Tripp, and Bradley (Kimberly) Tripp; two daughters, Vanessa White and Melonie Usher; one sister, Hope Mckenzie; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Arrangements were under the direction of Janowiak Funeral Home of Ypsilanati.

Margie Trimble
1918-2009
Funeral services will be held today, May 8, at 11 a.m. at Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel in Paintsville, for Margie Trimble, 90, who passed away May 5 at her residence in Staffordsville.
Mrs. Trimble was born June 9, 1918, daughter of the late Luther and Lillie Spradlin Caudill. She was a homemaker.
She was also preceded in death by her husband Kermit Trimble and one granddaughter.
She is survived by five sons, Donald (Carolyn) Trimble of Ashland, Darrell (Linda) Trimble of Staffordsville, David (Mina) Trimble of Rush, Gary (Pam) Trimble of Staffordsville, and Larry (Debbie) Trimble of Green Cove Springs, Fla.; one daughter, Sue L McCarty of Staffordsville; 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
Services will be officiated by Elders Jerry Colvin, Rutherford Blair and Paul Castle, with burial in the Trimble Family cemetery at Staffordsville.
Arrangements under the direction of Jones-Preston Funeral Home, Paintsville.

Connie Sue Rowland
1941-2009
Private services will be held for Connie Sue Rowland, 67, of Louisa, who passed away June 11 in Lexington.
She was born Aug. 6, 1941 in Johnson County, daughter of the late Herbert and Mattie Boyd Meek. She was preceded in death by her husband Claude Rowland.
She is survived by two sons, Jerry Rowland, Lodi, Ohio, and Jamie Rowland, White House; four daughters, Claudette Toor, Utica, Penelope Rowland, Bidwell, Ohio, Kelly Mills, Catlettsburg, and Jodie Hay, Nicholasville; two brothers, David Meek, White House, and Millard Meek, Van Lear; one sister, Joan Meek, Thelma; five grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
The service will be conducted by Jack Jarrell with burial in the Rowland Ceremony at White House. Visitation will be Saturday, June 20, from 12 noon until 2 p.m. at Preston Funeral Home, Paintsville, in charge of arrangements.

Walter Endicott
1921-2009
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 13, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Phelps & Son Funeral Home, for Walter Endicott, 88, of Inez, who passed away June 10.
He was born April 14, 1921 in Martin County, son of the late Harry Endicott and Minnie Hammonds Endicott. He was also preceded in death by the mother of his children, Thelma Endicott; one son, Walter Endicott; two brothers, Samuel and Lawrence Endicott; and four sisters, Ruby Sammons, Rachel Dalton, Larney Horn and Ellie Moore.
He is survived by four sons, Clyde Endicott, Columbus, Ohio, Herman Endicott, Inez, Rondal Endicott, Louisa, and Claggett Endicott, Paintsville; four daughters, Olivene Gillilan, Columbus, Ohio, Floretta Kirk, Columbus, Shelby Sarchet, Port Clinton, Ohio, and Nancy Jarrell, Louisa; 18 grandchildren, several great and great-great grandchildren.
Services were conducted by Terry Dalton and Claggett Endicott, with burial in the family cemetery at Calf Creek.
Arrangements under the direction of Phelps & Son Funeral Home, Inez.

Brayden Lee Hill
2009-2009
Graveside services were held July 3 at 2 p.m. at the Porter Family cemetery for Brayden Lee Hill, infant son of Christopher Hoke and Kimberly Hill of Ashland.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by maternal grandparents David Hill and Ruth Chapman, Ashland; paternal grandparents, Gary and Sandy Hoke; and maternal great-grandmother, Virginia Porter, Inez.
Services were conducted by Elmer Harris, with arrangements under the direction of Preston Funeral Home, Paintsville.

Juanita Selvage Hunter
1918-2009
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 9 at 1 p.m. at the Van Lear Free Will Baptist Church for Juanita Selvage Hunter, 90, of Van Lear, who passed away July 6 at Paul B. Hall Medical Center in Paintsville.
She was born Aug. 4, 1918, daughter of the late Cal Selvage and Audrey Fyffe.
She is survived by her husband, Al Hunter; one daughter, Patsy (Ivan) Huff, Van Lear; one sister Betty Moore, Van Lear; and two grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Services will be conducted by Paul Wayne Browning, with burial in the Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville.
Arrangements under the direction of Phelps and Son Funeral Home, Hager Hill.

Eugene Meek
1929-2009
Funeral services were held July 5 at 1 p.m. at the Phillip Cove Church for Eugene Meek, 80, of Tomahawk who passed away July 1 at his home.
He was born Jan. 6, 1929 in Martin County, son of the late Shadie and Ethel Swain Meek.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Eugene Meek, and one sister, Gloria Mollett.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Opal Meek; one son, Mark Meek, Tomahawk; three daughters, Laura Preece, Tomahawk; Wanda Robbins, Florida, and Loretta Rowland, Ashland, Ohio; five sisters, Carrie Loudin, South Carolina, Mandy Dutton, Tomahawk, Peggy Osborne, Paintsville, Irene Mollett, Louisa, and Yvonne Hogue, Inez; one brother Roger Meek, South Carolina; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Services were conducted by Isaac Rowland and David Meek, with burial in the Meek Family Cemetery.
Arrangements under the direction of Phelps & Son Funeral Home, Inez.
