Milton Clevo Zachary
LIBERTY -- Services for Milton Clevo Zachary, 88, of Liberty, will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Liberty United Methodist Church by Odis Clark and the Rev. R.K. Brine-gar.
Burial will be in Glen-wood Ceme-tery.
He died Thursday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville.
Born April. 6, 1911, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Thomas M. and Ella Griffin Zachary.
He was a former businessman, property valuation administrator and taught school for 30 years.
He was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ethelene Cundiff Zachary; a daughter, Jean Smither of Shelbyville; two sons, Gary L. Zachary of Danville and Jerry L. Zachary of Liberty; two sisters, Velma Sanders of Cross City, Fla., and Beulah Wesley of Liberty; a brother, Dr. Alvin Zachary of Lafayette, Ind.; six grandchildren; a great-grandson; and a great-step grandson.
Pallbearers will be Justin and Kyle Zachary, Mike Smither, John Wesley, Johnnie Beard Jr., and Paul Roberts.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Saturday and after 1 p.m. Sunday at the church.

PERRYVILLE -- Services for Nancy Katherine Powell, 90, of Springfield, formerly of Perryville, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Wilder Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
She died Wednesday at Norton Springfield Hospital, Lebanon.
Born July 27, 1909, in Boyle County, she was a daughter of the late William O. and Martha Baxter Williams Powell.
She was an employee of a dry cleaning company and a member of Perryville Presby-terian Church.
Survivors include a sister, Sarah E. Naylor of Louisville; and two brothers, William B. Powell of Lebanon and Houston C. Powell of Col-linsville, Ill.
Pallbearers will be Tony and Russ Powell, Stuart Pope, Bill Naylor, Joe Young and Larry Foster.
Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today.

Ruth C. Chapman
Ruth Case Chapman, 80, formerly of Hustonville Road, died Friday at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital in Harrodsburg.
Born Sept., 30, 1918, in Fayette County, she was a daughter of the late Alfred T. and Louise Martin Case. She was a former owner of a sewing shop and had been a stenographer.
She was the widow of Cleve Dunn, Ralph Ferguson and Robert Chapman. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include a son, Ralph "Skip" Ferguson Jr. of St. Augustine, Fla., two sisters, Alma Daugherty of Danville and Dorothy C. Caton of Harrodsburg; a brother, Zay Case of Danville; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patsy Bolin.
Services will be 7 p.m. Monday at Stith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Clearwater, Fla.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Monday.

National Mother Patsy Young, 71, of Beech Street, died Thursday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center after a short illness.
She was an assistant pastor of Church of God of America and the widow of James Young.

Martha Jufer
STANFORD -- Martha Jufer, 86, of Stanford House Nursing Home, died Saturday at Fort Logan Hospital.
Born Aug. 9, 1913, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of Marion and Sally Elliott Douglas.
She was a homemaker and a 60-year member of Ephesus Baptist Church. She was the widow of Louis Jufer.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Jufer of Waynesburg and Fred Jufer of Lexington; two daughters, Kathleen Hume of Stanford and Ann E. Yontz of Cincinnati; two sisters, Marie Ingram and Phyllis Griffin, both of Stanford; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Fox Funeral Home by Cecil Roundtree and Dan Gutenson.
Burial will be in the Reformed Lutheran Cemetery, Ottenheim.
Pallbearers will be Glen Yontz, Doug and Timothy Jufer, Mark Blythe, John Godbey, Rick Edwards and Dennis Jones.

HARRODSBURG -- Services for John L. Allender, 83, of North East Street, will be 1:30 p.m. today at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Robert DeFoor.
Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Born Dec. 31, 1915, in Fayette County, he was a son of the late John C. and Amanda Eldridge Allender.
He was a retired superintendent for Fort Harrod State Park, a member of Harrods-burg Baptist Church and Glad Hand Sunday School Class, Mercer Masonic Lodge 777 F&AM and Order of Eastern Star 309.
Survivors include his wife, Lola Reed Clark Allender; two brothers, Charles Allender of Burgin and Robert Allender of Cincinnati; and a sister, Sarah Brown of Mercer County.

Penny L. Townsend, 52, of Westwood Court, died Sunday at her home of natural causes.
Born Sept. 18, 1947, in Pulaski County, she was a daughter of Wynona Burdine Farmer of Danville. She was a family consultant for Habitat for Humanity and a member Danville Church of God.
Survivors include her husband, William Townsend; two daughters, Kellie Conatser of Junction City and Tracy Turner of Lancaster; three stepdaughters, Dionee Smith of Junction City, Linda S. Hatter of Parksville and Mickie Lee of Mitchellsburg; two sisters, Judy Day of Danville and Patricia Blundon of Hartland, Wis.; and five grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Danville Church of God by the Rev. Lonnie Daugherty. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.

LANCASTER -- James "Sunshine" Crank, 58, of Lancaster, died Saturday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Jan. 27, 1941, in Garrard County, he was a son of Beulah Thomas of Lancaster. He was a member of Lancaster Church of God.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lancaster Church of God by Jim Cook, Paul Brasseaux and Glen Daugherty. Burial will be in Fellowship Cemetery.

HARRODSBURG -- William Dennis Devine, 45, of North Main Street, died Sunday at his home of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to Mercer County Coroner David "Sonny" Ransdell. Arrangements are incomplete at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

LIBERTY -- Easter Evetene Edwards, 76, of Louisville, died Saturday at Casey County Hospital.
Born Jan. 20, 1923, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late Ed Coontz and Mary Ann Brown Coontz Fights. She was a former manager of a dry cleaning business.
Survivors include two sons, Ivan Edwards of Indianapolis and Michael Edwards of Shelbyville; two daughters, Patsy Tobias of Willisburg and Gwen Loyall of Louisville; three sisters, Evelyne Langford of Liberty, Eva Propes of Junction City and Monteline Turner of Stanford; two brothers, George Coontz of Junction City and Jesse Coontz of Danville; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Woodrow Edwards; and two sons, Billy Ray Edwards and Gary R. Edwards.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Carr's Chapel Church of God by Delbert Baeker, Donald Lear and Brenda Chesser. Burial will be in Caney Fork Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bartle Funeral Home and after 8 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Donald M. Gritton
HARRODSBURG -- Donald Meredith Gritton, 53, of Ada Drive, died Saturday at his home of natural causes.
Born June 26, 1946, in Mercer County, he was a son of the late H.G. and Bertha Hurst Gritton. He was an electrician at Corning Glass Works for 33 years, a graduate of Mercer County High School and attended Eastern Kentucky University. He was a past president for Harrodsburg Jaycees, a Kentucky Colonel and a Baptist.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Spring Hill Cemetery by Bobby Logue.
Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today and 7 a.m.-1:45 p.m. Tuesday.
Barbara A. Moore
WHITLEY CITY -- Barbara Ann Moore, 41, of Perryville, formerly of Whitley City, died Saturday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Jan. 4, 1958, in Cincinnati, she was a daughter Ravaina Fickey Vanover Wilson of Perryville and the late Coyett "Bub" Vanover. She was a homemaker and a member of the Whitley City United Methodist Church and Laurel Heights Chapter of Order of the Eastern Star in Stearns.
Other survivors include her stepfather, John Wilson of Perryville; two sons, James E. Moore of Barbourville and Timothy A. Moore of Perryville; a daughter, Karen L. Vanover of Barbourville; a grandmother, Pearl Baker of Parkers Lake; three brothers, Coyett W. Vanover of Raleigh, N.C., Larry Vanover of Tomahawk, and Gary Vanover of Oneida, Tenn.; two sisters, Pamela Dones of Lewisburg and Michelle Coffey of Stearns; and a grandson.
Services were scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Whitley City United Methodist Church by Charles Spice. Burial will be in the family cemetery.

HARRODSBURG -- Mary Helen Roberts, 90, of Marimon Avenue, died Sunday at Charleston Health Care Center.
Born Sept. 8, 1909, in Jessamine County, she was a daughter of the late George and Artie Jacobs Stone. She was a retired employee of Cricketer Co. and a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church and a former member of Mercer County Senior Citizens. She was the widow of Henry E. Roberts.
Survivors include a son, Edward D. "Peanut" Roberts of Mercer County; a daughter, Alice Pankey of Mercer County; a sister, Virginia Sexton of Cincinnati; six grandchildren; two step grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a step great-grandchild.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Andrew Catholic Church by the Rev. Joseph Muench. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be James and Eddie Pankey, Wayne Carmickle, Chris Horn, Ben Sharp and David Roberts.

LOUISVILLE -- Anna Pearl Cummins Rose, 81, formerly of Perryville, died Friday at Norton-Audubon Hospital.
She was a retired salesperson for Patterson Bakery and a member of Eastern Star and Okolona Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband, Leland S. Rose Sr.; a son, Leland S. Rose Jr., two daughters, Linda Jody and Ann Smith; two brothers, Walter and Ralph Cummins; four sisters, Dorothy Carey, Lorene Hundley, Ruth Yankey and Clara Duncan; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services were today at Arch L. Heady & Son Okolona Funeral Home with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park.

POINT LOMA, Calif. -- Thomas P. Faulconer, 87, of Point Loma, died Sept. 8 at his home of heart failure.
Born in San Diego, Calif., he was an aviator, inventor, published author and engineer.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Faulconer; two daughters, Marion Gunter of Lava Hot Springs, Idaho, and Katharine Kenniston of Point Loma; a brother, Phillip Faulconer of Point Loma; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Local survivors are cousins, including E.P. Faulconer of Danville.

LIBERTY -- Ruth Mae Gilpin, 81, of Wallace Wilkinson Boulevard, died Monday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Jan. 18, 1918, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late William and Flossie Henson Wesley. She was a retired owner of Archway Motel and Restaurant in Louisville, a member of Shively Christian Church, and a Kentucky Colonel. She was the widow of James Otis Gilpin.
Survivors include a son, Jerry W. Gilpin of Liberty; a sister, Faye Brevig of Christianburg, Va.; a caregiver, Diane Thomas Durham of Liberty; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by Jimmy Brown. Burial will be in Casey County Memorial Gardens.

Born in Quail, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Linda V. Ping Purcell. She was a former Garrard County teacher and a former employee of Parker Seale Co. She was the widow of James F. "Doc" Pulliam.
Survivors include a son, James F. Pulliam of Lexington; two daughters, Linda R. Stokley and Susan D. Jenkins, both of Lexington; a fianc?, Jack Corman of Lexington; a sister, Edna Purcell of Kings Mountain; and two grandchildren.
