James D. Hayden
LEBANON -- James David Hayden, 69, formerly of Lebanon, died Monday at Danville Centre for Health and Rehabilitation.
Survivors include three daughters, Monica Hayden and Bonny Hayden-Frazier, both of Cincinnati, and Rose Hayden of Georgetown; two brothers, Arthur Hayden of Lexington and George Hayden of Lebanon; a sister, Mary Cob of California; and a grandchild.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Saint Charles Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 6 p.m. today at Campbell-Dewitt Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials may go to American Cancer Society.
Helen B. Viars
BEREA -- Helen Barrett Viars, 86, of Richmond, Ind., died Monday at Garrard County Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
Born Aug. 21, 1913, in Berea, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Mary McHone Barrett. She was a retired secretary and a member of First Baptist Church. She was the widow of Lewis Viars and a Kentucky Colonel.
Survivors include a brother, Ed Barrett of Lancaster.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Reppert Funeral Home by the Rev. James Spon. Burial will be in Berea Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today.

Iva "Mary" Johnson
Iva Lee "Mary" Johnson, 65, of Marksbury Avenue, Lancaster, formerly of Danville, died Wednesday at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center.
Born Aug. 22, 1934, in Middlesboro, she was a daughter of the late Bill and Lucy Woolum.
She was a former private duty sitter at Friendship House and a former employee of Danville Bowlarama.
She was a member of Solid Rock Full Gospel Church.
Survivors include two sons, James L. and Michael L. Teague, both of Danville; six daughters, Rolanda S. Teague Adams of Danville, Lu Ann Teague Noel of Willisburg, Cynthia L. Teague Lamb of Lancaster, and Sandra L. Stipe Hundley, Kelly J. Stipe Boyd and Lorrie Stewart Johnson, all of Danville; two sisters, Cordelia Broome of Corbin and Billie Harvey of Columbus, Ohio; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandsons.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 3-9 p.m. Friday.
Michael McCormick
Michael McCormick, 47, of Frankfort, a native of Boyle County, died today at Central Baptist Hospital, Lexington, after an illness.
He was the husband of Marsha Bowman McCormick.

LIBERTY-- Delmar Lawrence Evans, 65, of Red Hill Road, Dunnville, died Tuesday at his home.
Born Nov. 1, 1933, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late William E. and Monta Propes Evans. He was a retired employee of Watson Lumber Co.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Carmicle Evans; four daughters, Carolyn Murphy of Slaughters, Kernetta Evans and Karen S. Lynch, both of Dunnville, and Sherry Mullins of Danville; four brothers, Roy and Mac Evans, both of Cincinnati, and R.C. and Earl Evans, both of Liberty; four sisters, Lillian Sutherland, Ruth Tucker, and Jean Holt, all of Liberty and Chloe King, both of Harrodsburg; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by Jim Thorp. Burial will be in Green River Valley Cemetery.

Ricky Grant
RICHMOND -- Ricky Grant, 35, of Kirksville, died Tuesday of injuries sustained in an auto accident on Ky. 1295.
Born July 13, 1964, in Madison County, he was a son of Raymond and Betty Bullins Grant of Kirksville. He was a farmer and construction worker, a member of Richmond House of Prayer and Madison Masonic Lodge 183.
Other survivors include his wife, Kimberly Still Grant; a son, Raymond C. Grant of Richmond; a daughter, Janice L. Grant of Richmond; three brothers, Alex Grant and Randall Grant, both of Richmond, and Raymond Grant Jr. of Berea; five sisters, Doris Curtis of Lancaster, Carolyn Tarte and Frances Lewis, both of Berea, Linda Foley of Richmond and Vicky A. Grant of Kirksville.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Combs, Parsons and Collins Funeral Home by Owen Moody. Burial will be in Madison County Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Alex, Donald and Raymond Grant Jr., Rusty and Russ Foley, David Bond, Greg Davis and Jerry Rose.

RICHMOND -- Rosella Palmer Broaddus Grubbs, 82, of Lexington, formerly of Danville, died Wednesday at St. Joseph Hospital East, Lexington.
Born Aug. 15, 1917, in Estill County, she was a daughter of the late Andrew J. and Fannie Wollums Palmer. She was a homemaker and seamstress and a member of Centenary United Methodist Church. She was the widow of James E. Broaddus and James F. Grubbs.
Survivors include four daughters, Nancy Reed and Fannie Walls, both of Danville, Mary Ann Wylie of Shelbyville and Lou Ella Burchett of Lexington; a sister, Nancy Pratt of Lexington; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Combs, Parsons and Collins Funeral Home by Gilbert Sowders. Burial will be in Richmond Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Friday.
Hattie M. Whitehead
HARRIMAN, Tenn. -- Hattie Mae Whitehead, 77, of Harriman, died Tuesday at her home.
Survivors include her husband, William C. Whitehead Sr.; seven sons, Eugene Roberts of Hephzibah, Ga., Jackie Roberts of Spring City, Tenn., James Roberts of Knoxville, Tenn., Clarence Whitehead Jr., of Kingston, Tenn., Tommy Whitehead of Harriman, Samuel Whitehead of Harrodburg; and George Whitehead of Danville; and three daughters, Edna Upton of Oak Ridge, Tenn., Carolyn Roddy of Harriman and Peggy Cozart of Rockwood, Tenn.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Evans Mortuary by the Rev. James Guthrie. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Verna W. Johnson
Verna W. Johnson, 94, of Charleston Health Care Center, died there Thursday.
Born Jan. 9, 1905, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late Riley and Donna Wesley. She was a buyer for Hub Frankel and a houseparent at Kentucky School for the Deaf. She was the widow of W.I. Johnson.
Survivors include a son, Billy I. Johnson of Danville; three grandchildren; three great-grandchilren; and two great-great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by a son, James A. Johnson.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Bellevue Cemetery.
There is no visitation.

Gracie E. Bishop
BRODHEAD -- Gracie Elizabeth Bishop, 80, of Crab Orchard, died Wednesday at Fort Logan Hospital, Stanford.
Born March 5, 1919, in Rockcastle County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Minnie Bradley Renner. She was a homemaker and a member of Ottawa Baptist Church. She was the widow of Eliza Bishop.
Survivors include three daughters, Patsy Moore and Shirley Denny, both of Crab Orchard, and Brenda Bryant of Lawrenceburg; four brothers, Arlie Renner of Mount Vernon, Oather Renner of Danville, Lester Renner of Somerset, and Sylvester Renner of Crab Orchard; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Ottawa Baptist Church by Cecil Roundtree and Darrell Gentry. Burial will be in Ottawa Cemetery.
Visitation is 6:30 p.m. today at Watson Funeral Home.
Ruth Browne
LOUISVILLE -- Ruth Gillespie Browne, 94, of Louisville, died Wednesday at the Forum at Brookside.
She was a micropaleontologist and geologist, a professor at the University of Louisville and a member of the board of the Louisville Museum of Natural History, which was instrumental in forming of the Louisville Science Center.
Survivors include a son, Robert C. Brown of Danville; a daughter, Carolyn B. Malkin; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at a later date.

Dorothea F. Mullins
COLUMBIA -- Dorothea Foley Mullins, 83, died Thursday at Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia after a short illness.
Born Feb. 14, 1916, in Adair County, she was a daughter of the late Harrison and Mattie Foster McGaha. She was a homemaker and a member of Columbia Baptist Church.
Survivors include a granddaughter, Hillary McKinney of Danville and a sister, Ida Finn of Indiana. She was the widow of Albert L. Foley and Millard Mullins. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sonja McKinney of Danville.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home by Michael O'Neal. Burial will be in Columbia Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday and before the services Saturday.

STANFORD -- Services for Charles William Elliott, 64, of Green River Road, were scheduled for today at Fox Funeral Home by the Rev. Gary King. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
He died Wednesday at Veterans Administration Hospital, Lexington.
Born March 27, 1935, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Ransom T. and Ruby Garner Elliott. He was a retired farmer and an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He had served as an Air Force mechanic for eight years.
Survivors include his wife, Rachel Miracle Elliott; a son, Charles E. Elliott of Stanford; a daughter, Betty S. Sims of Stanford; three brothers, John G. Elliott of Danville and George "Bucky" and Joe R. Elliott, both of Hustonville; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Dale and Kevin Kirkpatrick and Ronnie, George, Jason and Donnie Elliott.

Michael McCormack
Michael McCormack, 47, of Frankfort, formerly of Danville, died Thursday at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
Born May 6, 1952, in Moreland, he was a son of Beatrice McCormack of Stan-ford and the late William Thomas McCormack.
He attended Hustonville High School and was employed by BellSouth Telephone Company.
He was a Baptist, taught Sunday School and was a youth director. He also coached Little League.
Survivors include his wife, Marsha McCormack of Frankfort; a daughter, Tiffoni Clark of Frankfort; a son, Michael Brandon McCormack of Louisville; a grandmother, Ella Gooch of Stanford; six brothers, Givens McCormack of Danville, Donald McCormack of Louisville, Robert McCormack of Misawa Air Force Base, Japan, and William, Patrick and Oliver McCormack, all of Stanford; seven sisters, Kathleen Lewis, Gladys Faulkner and Suzzie Gooch, all of Danville, Pauline Hickman of Findlay, Ohio, Viola Coleman of Norfolk, Va., Rosa Nicholas of Jacksonville, Fla., and Louise McCormack; and a grandson.
Services will be noon Monday at First Baptist Church, Frankfort, by the Rev. K.L. Moore Jr.
Burial will be in Hilldale Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be James Jacob Sr., Louis Rivers, J.D. Smith, Harold Benson, William Jones and Carroll Young.

HARRODSBURG -- Burbon Freeman, 71, of Rose Hill Lane, died Friday at Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 26, 1927, in Boyle County, he was a son of the late Homer and Lillie Hendren Freeman.
He was a self -employed upholsterer and a member of Bruners Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Gabhart Freeman; a son, David Freeman of Harrodsburg; a daughter, Burbona Riley of Springfield; a brother, Harold Hendren of Harrodsburg; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Larry Redding. Burial will be in Bruner's Chapel Cemetery.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.

Charles Missik
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Services for Charles D. "Chip" Missik, 44, of Youngstown, were Monday at Kinnick Funeral Home. Burial was in Resurrection Cemetery, Austintown, Ohio.
He died Sept. 24 at his home.
Born Oct. 7, 1954 in Youngstown, he was a son of John and Veronica Telepak Missik of Youngstown. He was a 1972 graduate of Youngstown Chaney High School and worked as a roofer and also for Mill Creek Park in Youngstown. He was a member of St. Brendan Church and the Harley Owners Group.
Survivors include a son, Jesse Snyder of LaPort, Texas; a daughter, Jacqueline Missik of Michigan City, Ind.; a step-son, Eric DeMarco of Girard, Ohio; a brother, John Missik of Danville; and five sisters, Evelyn Roth and Andrea Anderson of Austintown, Bernadette Kascak of Westlake, La., Joan Updegraff of Albuquerque, N.M., and Laurie Missik-Olenik of Youngstown.
