Mary Katherine Green
Mary Katherine Green, 76, Henderson, died at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, 1998, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Boonville, Ind.
She was a member of Greater Norris Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and served as a member of its Matron's Auxiliary.
She was preceded is death by her husband, Roy "Bunny," who died in 1997.
Survivors include one son, Tyrone Green of Henderson; one stepdaughter, Lois E. Duncan of Henderson; three brothers, Ossie Pressley of Evansville, Marshall Briggum of Erin, Tenn., and Mark A. Nichols of Dublin, Ga.; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Greater Norris Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. W.L. Gathings will officiate. Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Monday at the church, where wake services will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.

Cynthia Donahoo Bender, 34, Henderson, died at 6:06 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, 1998, at Community Methodist Hospital.
Survivors include one daughter, Amber Bender of Henderson; one son, Bradley Bender of Henderson; her parents, Jim and Barbara Sallee of Henderson; her grandparents, Harold and Dorothy Wright and Sarah Crowley, all of Henderson; one brother, Randy Donahoo of Henderson; and one stepbrother, Jody Sallee of Henderson.

Carol C. Moseley, 61, Henderson, formerly of Sacramento, Ky., died at 4:27 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, 1998, at her home.
She was a member of Providence Primitive Baptist Church and was a sales associate at American General Finance for 20 years.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years, John; one daughter, Carol Denise Hutcheson of Newburgh, Ind.; two sons, John K. Moseley of Corydon and Mark Alan Moseley of Atlanta; four grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. Elders Don Wheat and John Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery in Poole.

Jewel E. Brantley, 86, Corydon, died Saturday, Nov. 14, 1998, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
She was a member of Morganfield Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Delmer, who died in 1988.
Survivors include two daughters, Joann Kavanaugh of Hartford, Ky., and Carolyn Clevenger of Henderson; four sons, James E. Brantley of Eddyville, William R. Brantley of Corydon, Harold G. Brantley of Bowling Green and Delmer L. Brantley of Salem, Ky.; 22 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

UNIONTOWN -- Nicholas Clements Jr., 75, Uniontown, died at 1:15 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, 1998, at Redbanks nursing home in Henderson.
He was a member of Knights of Columbus No. 1367 and a lifelong member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Uniontown. He was also a former Uniontown businessman.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Betty; two daughters, Mary Sue Perkins of Sturgis and Rita Ann Clements of Uniontown; three sisters, Janice McKinsey of Indianapolis, Patricia Clark of Madisonville and Sarah Perdue of Henderson; one brother, Fred Clements of Uniontown; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at St. Agnes Catholic Church. The Rev. Bob Willett will officiate. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery.

Walter E. "Eddie" Higgins
MADISONVILLE -- Walter E. "Eddie" Higgins, 63, Madisonville, died at 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, 1998, at Regional Medical Center here.
He was a member of Grapevine Christian Church in Madisonville and a retired mining instructor for Peabody Coal Company and the State of Kentucky. He was also a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Jerry; one daughter, Michelle Wiseman of Denver, Colo.; two sons, Walter "Tony" Higgins of Lexington and Timothy Higgins of Chicago; two sisters, Betty Grable of Madisonville and Patsy Anderson of Marion; one brother, Donald Higgins of Henderson; and two grandchildren.

Virginia Sue Rowland Jennings
PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- Virginia Sue Rowland Jennings, 82, Port St. Lucie, formerly of Henderson, died at 8:20 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, 1998, at Hospice of Martin and St. Lucie County in Stuart, Fla.
She was a member of First Christian Church in Fort Pierce, Fla., and was a former member of First Christian Church in Henderson. She was also a former volunteer at Community Methodist Hospital.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Richard A.; one son, Richard R. Jennings of Fort Pierce; two sisters, Madge Tapp of Dixon and Sara Lee Pinkston of Henderson; nieces and nephews.

Sam E. Shamell
EVANSVILLE -- Sam E. Shamell, 74, Evansville, died at 6:44 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, 1998, at Deaconess Hospital here.
A native of Hopkinsville, he was a Korean War veteran and a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Evansville. He also served as a past trustee board member, usher board member, Cub Scout master, brotherhood chairman, president of the Men of New Hope and was a Golden Age Breakfast Club member. He was also a retired truck driver for Haag Drug Stores.
He was preceded in death by one son, Deon Soaper, who died in 1985.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Delores Eldridge Shamell; two daughters, Deniece Shamell of Akron, Ohio, and Darcel Shamell of Evansville; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. W.R. Brown Sr., will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Evansville.

Chad Everett Brooks
Chad Everett Brooks, 26, Henderson, died at 3:50 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, 1998, in Grayson County.
He was a member of First Assembly of God.
Survivors include his fiancee, Jeanie Marie of Providence; one daughter, Destiny Alyson Brooks of Providence; his mother, Mary Alice Woodson of Henderson; his father and stepmother, Larry and Betty Brooks of Henderson; his grandparents, R.C. and Alice Cobb of Henderson and Everett and Rita Brooks of Geneva; one sister, Kelly Lynn Burris of Henderson; three brothers, Larry Anthony Brooks and Dallas Joseph Brooks, both of Henderson, and Jerry D. Freida J. Holsing, 68, Corydon, died at 7:03 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, 1998, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville.
A member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, she had been a Henderson County court reporter for many years. She was also a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary Worsham Post No. 40.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William, who died in 1990, and one son, William "Billy" Holsing, who died in 1992.
Survivors include one son, Charles Holsing of Henderson; her mother, Annie Jones of Henderson; one sister, Judy Perdue of Corydon; one brother, William L. Littlepage of Little Dixie; four grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Patsy Jane Cook and Theresa Ward Tornatta.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Gobel Ward Sr.; four daughters, Peggy J. Hogge of Morganfield and Rose Marie "Polly" Cook, Rosalee Rider and Precious "Julie" Franklin, all of Evansville; one son, Gobel Ward Jr. of Morganfield; her mother, Rose Drew of Evansville; one sister, Mary Weinzapfel of Evansville; two brothers, Jack Cook and Bill "Cookie" Hames, both of Evansville; 14 grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

PROVIDENCE -- Orville R. "Dick" Dortch, 76, Providence, died at 12:17 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16, 1998, at his daughter's home in Sebree.
A retired coal miner, he was a member of White Oak General Baptist Church, where he was a former Sunday school teacher and song leader. He was also a U.S. Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, who died in 1996.

Survivors include two sons, Daniel Joe Fallowfield of Wadesville, Ind., and Robert Dale Fallowfield of Evansville; her parents, William A. and Eudora Hopf Sr. of Poseyville; two brothers, Richard L. Hopf of Henderson and William A. Hopf Jr. of Poseyville; nieces and nephews.
