Born April 15, 1934, in Lewis County, he was a son of the late Elmer Dexter Liles and Ora Elizabeth Dummitt, and was the husband of Alma Sue Clark Liles. He was retired from Kurz-Kasch Company of Wilmington, Ohio, and served in the US Army. He was a member of DAV and attended Bivens Chapel Church at Garrison. Services will be conducted Thursday, October 7, at 1:00 p.m., at Bivens Chapel Church. Pastor Carl Wells will officiate with burial in Cooper-Willis Cemetery at Garrison. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, and from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Thursday at the church.

Sandra Lykins
Sandra Lou Hobbs Lykins, 56, of Tollesboro, died Friday, October 1, 2004, at Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville. Born May 22, 1948, in Mason County, she was a daughter of Luther and Julian Hamlin Hobbs, and the wife of James E. Lykins. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and owned and operated her own beauty shop for more than 30 years. Services were conducted Sunday, October 3, at 2:00 p.m., at Barbour and Son Funeral Home in Tollesboro. Bro. Cleve King officiated with burial in Mt. Tabor Cemetery at Ribolt.

Russell Silvey
Russell Floyd Silvey, 72, of Columbus, Ohio, died Wednesday, September 22, 2004, at St. Ann Hospital in Westerville, Ohio. Born August 4, 1932, at Vanceburg, he was a son of the late Lester and Ida Pearl Sartin Silvery, and the widower of Virginia Rose Gasaway Silvey who died in 2003. He was retired as a machinist from Denison Hydraulics, Columbus, after 41 years of service. Services were conducted Saturday, September 25, at 1:00 p.m., at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg. Rev. Phillip Cropper officiated with burial in Clarksburg Cemetery.

William Lewis
William Earl Lewis, 93, of Route 3 Vanceburg, died Monday, September 27, 2004, at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio, following an extended illness. Born July 22, 1911, on Town Branch, he was a son of the late Thomas and Sally Drake Lewis, and was the widower of Mollie McKinney Lewis, who died in 1983. He had worked for the C&O Railroad as a track foreman for 40 years and was an antique dealer, farmer and member of Evans Chapel Church. Services were conducted Wednesday, September 29, at 2:00 p.m. at Gaydos Funeral Home in Vanceburg. Rev. Thomas Mullins officiated with burial in Black Oak Cemetery.

Tifton G. "Tip" Jamison, 78, of Garrison, died Thursday, September 23, 2004, at his home. Born April 6, 1926, in Greenup County, he was a son of the late John and Carrie Wolfe Jamison, and the husband of 49 years of Margie Green Jamison. He was a retired truck driver for Ferrell Gas Co. of South Shore and the former Davis and Harvey gas Co. He was a member of Bivens Chapel Church in Garrison. Services were conducted Sunday, September 26, at 11:00 a.m. at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore. Rev. Wilma Erwin and Rev. Born February 28, 1919, in Fleming County, she was a daughter of the late Russell and Florence Breeze Davenport. She had worked at Baker's Department Store in Vanceburg. Miller Lumber in Lewistown, Ohio, and retired from Airstream in 1976. He was a WWII US Army veteran and attended Mt. Tabor Church of God. She was retired after 15 years with US Shoe and was a member of Vanceburg Church of God. She was a volunteer foster parent for more than 15 years for more than 75 children. Forest Bloomfield
Forest Tolliver "Bummer" Bloomfield, 81, of Vanceburg, Died Friday, November 5, 2004, at Piketon, Ohio. Born May 28, 1923, he was a son of the late Grover and Beaulah Zornes Bloomfield. He spent much of his life traveling America working at Carnivals and flea markets. Many will remember him by the one leg missing, which he lost at the age of 15 when he "hopped his first train" going on an adventure. A private viewing was held at Boyers Funeral Home in Waverly, Ohio. Burial was in Mound Cemetery at Piketon.
