FRANK ALLENDER
Mr. Frank M. Allender, 81, of West Brown Street, Nicholasville, died Friday, September 16, 1994 at the UK Medical Center after a long illness. Born May 26, 1913 in Fayette County, he was the son of the late John C. and Amanda Eldridge Allender of Burgin. He was a retired farmer and a former resident of Mercer County. He was a member of Kentucky Seed Improvement Co., Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Woodford Co., and a Past Master of the Hart Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Hughes and a daughter Betty Conn of Nicholasville; three brothers, John L. Allender, Harrodsburg, Charles E. Allender, Burgin, Robert Allender, Cincinnati; one sister, Sarah Allender Brown, McAfee, two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Anne Moore of Lexington. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 19, at Betts & West Funeral Home with the Rev. Howard Davenport officiating. Burial was in the Lexington Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bill Brann, Clifford Elkins, Rollie Teater, Burt Jones, Don White and David Moore. Honorary bearers were members of the Men's Bible Class of Mt. Pleasant Church.

GEORGE DEAN, Jr.
Mr. George Dean, Jr., 63, died Sunday, September 25, 1994 at 1:00 a.m. at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital Extended Care Unit after a long illness. Born June 14, 1931 in Washington County, he was the son of Corine Smith Dean of Harrodsburg and the late George R. Dean, Sr. and widower of the late Lena Frances Dean. He was a retired employee of the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital and a member of the Centennial Baptist Church. Survivors, other than his mother, include three sons: William Goodman, George Dean and Stephon Lee Dean, all of Danville; four daughters, Katherine Virginia Smith, Derlisa Renea Dean, Luticia Medlene Dean and Wendy Zoe Dean, all of Danville; one brother, Robert Dean, Harrodsburg; five sisters, Mrs. Mary Vaughn, Harrodsburg, Mrs. Betty Black, Louisville, Mrs. Louise Walker, Harrodsburg, Mrs. Carolyn Rivera, Harrodsburg, Mrs. Christine Edelen, Harrodsburg; 19 grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, September 28 at 1:00 p.m. at the Centennial Baptist church with Rev. J. D. Short, III and Rev. R. J. Gentry officiating.. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers were Fred Bottoms, David DeShazer, Albert Mitchell, Charles Parks, James Smith and Michael Smith. Honorary bearers were Antonio Dean, Wayne Andrews, Larry Andrews, Sylvester Young, Gable Edelen, and Lemont Trigg. Parks Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

DELBERT DEVINE
Mr. Delbert Devine, 91, 835 Mackville Road, died Tuesday, September 20, 1994 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital. Born April 24, 1903 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Joseph and Bettie Lester Devine and the widower of Gladys Bryant and Mary Stratton. He was a retired self-employed grocery operator in Lexington for many years, a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church and the Glad Hand Sunday School class. Survivors include a daughter; Mrs. Charles (Norma) Mooney, Sebastian, FL; a sister, Mrs. Effie Jo Lambert, Harrodsburg; a brother, Raymond Devine, Owensboro; and one granddaughter. Funeral services for Mr. Devine were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 24, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Russell officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Eason Butler, Dalton Freeman, Holly Long, Kenneth Huffman, Ronnie Bailey and Bill Arnold.

HALLIE HALL
Mrs. Hallie W. Hall, 87, 362 College Manor, died Tuesday September 20, 1994 at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital. Born May 6, 1907 in Fayette County, she was the daughter of the late Allen Ward and Renda Davis Ward. She was the widow of Coleman Hall. She was a homemaker and a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Survivors include: two sisters; Robbie W. Carr and Nannie Nichols, both of Versailles; and a brother; Kennie Ward of Versailles. Services for Mrs. Hall were held Friday at 2:00 p.m., September 23 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by the Rev. James Byrd. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jackie Powers, Gerald Wade, Kenneth Ward, Truett Cocanougher, Ricky Catlett and Larry Matherly.

HANSEL PERRY
Mr. Hansel Everett "Pat" Perry, 72, of 1061 Birdie Road, Lawrenceburg, died Tuesday, September 27, 1994 at his residence. Born July 28, 1922, he was the son of the late Leslie Everett Perry and Agnes Alberta Cooper Perry. He was the widower of Mary Elizabeth Wells Perry. He was a retired farmer, a former employee of Northern Asphalt Company, a member of the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and the VFW Post 4075 in Frankfort. He was an army veteran of World War II. Survivors include: five sons, Danny Joe Perry, Frankfort, Ray Thomas Perry, Johnny Buck Perry, Jerry Lynn Perry and Timothy Scott Perry, all of Lawrenceburg; four daughters; Mrs. Michael (Deborah Kay) Richardson, Mrs. Jack (Judy) Hatter and Mrs. Kenneth (Lisa) Hicks, Lawrenceburg, Patty Perry, Harrodsburg; four sisters, Mrs. Charles (Thelma) McDonald and Mrs. Joe (Sylvia) Goins, Lawrenceburg, Mrs. Linda Henderson, Okeechobe, FL, and Mrs. Betty Wright of Shelby County; Three brothers, Thomas L. Mrs. Roberta Sexton, 73, of 459 Chestnut Street, died Monday, September 26, 1994 at Donelson Hospital in Nashville, TN. Born June 27, 1921 in Covington, she was the daughter of the late John Thomas Lawson and Florence Whitcomb Lawson. She was the widow of Ralph Sanders and James Sexton. She was a homemaker, a member of the Burgin Pioneer Homemakers Club and the Burgin Baptist Church. Survivors include: two sons, David, R. Sanders, New Albany, IN, Robert M. Sanders, Richmond, IN; one daughter, Pamela Bennett, Nashville, TN; two sisters, Ruth Brinkman, Florence, Virginia Spurlock, Covington; twelve grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Services for Mrs. Sexton were held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 28, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with the Rev. John Penick officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery. Steven Mark Deskins, 21, 2631 Glen Drive, New Smyrna Beach, FL, died Wednesday, September 21, 1994. Born January 31, 1973, in Lexington, he was the son of Steve Deskins and Sue Reynolds Deskins, formerly of Harrodsburg. He was the grandson of Wayne and Helen Reynolds, Salvisa, and Betty and the late Tilden Deskins of Pikeville. Survivors, in addition to his parents and grandparents, include: a sister, Sonda Deskins. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 1994, at the New Smyrna Beach Christian Church, with Pastor Benjamin Ling officiating. DAVID WAMPLER
Mr. James David Wampler, age 56, of 626 Pleasant Hill Drive, Burgin, died Tuesday, September 27, 1994, while traveling in the state of Washington. Born April 20, 1938, in Lexington, he was the son of the late James Eldridge and Christine Davenport Wampler. He was the Generation Supervisor at Kentucky Utilities Company. He formerly served in the U. S. Marine Corps, was past president of the Burgin Lions Club and had attended the University of Kentucky. He was a member of Southland Christian Church. Survivors include: his wife, Betty Ann Lyons Wampler; one son, James Eric Wampler, Seattle, WA; two daughters, Jean Carolyn Curry, Floyd Knobs, IN and Mary Beth Vandivier, Harrodsburg; one sister, Betty Jane Claunch, Versailles; four grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday, October 2, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. Garrett Stephens officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery. HELEN WILLIAMS
Mrs. Helen Wheeler Williams, 74, of 616 Meadowbrook Lane, Rock Hill, SC died Sunday, October 2, 1994 at Piedmont Medical Center. Born in Needham, MA, she was the daughter of the late Harold L. and Mary H. Andrews Wheeler, a graduate of Winthrop College and a member of Episcopal Church of our Savior. She was the widow of Dr. W. H. Williams. Survivors include: two daughters; Nancy Williams Goodman, Orange, SC and Helen Williams Dedman of Harrodsburg; one sister Marge Gardner, Camden, ME; six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Bill Williams. Funeral services for Mrs. Williams were held Wednesday, October 5 at the Episcopal church of Our Saviour with the Rev. Blaney Pridgen officiating. Interment was in the church garden. Mr. Raymond Richard Sirkle, 79, of Lexington, died at Tanbark Health Care Center Sunday, October 2, 1994. He was the husband of the late Emma Jean Metcalf Sirkle, a retired Oil & Gas Contractor, a member of the Robert M. Sirkle Masonic Lodge #954, and the son of the late J. M. and Jewel Sirkle. Survivors include: a son; Raymond B. Sirkle, Harrodsburg; a daughter, Mrs. Sherry Knight, Stanbury, NJ; a brother, Dr. Robert M. Sirkle, Lexington; six grandchildren and one great grandchild. Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 4, at Whitehall Funeral Chapel, Lexington, by the Rev. Roy Mays. Burial was in the Lexington Cemetery.

ROSA MARTIN
Mrs. Rosa Mae Martin, 86, 1500 Trent Blvd., Lexington, died Friday, September 23, 1994. A native of Georgetown, she was a daughter of the late William and Rosa Bell Henry Vaughn and a member of South Elkhorn Christian Church. She was the widow of Adam Martin. Survivors include: a sister, Mrs. Eddie Lee (Margaret) Lowery, Cornishville; two daughters; Bonnie Mae Sartin, Cincinnati, OH and Tomie Oliver Weissinger, Lexington; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, John, James W. and Joseph W. Vaughn. ROBERT HAYSLETT
Mr. Robert Hayslett, 78, of 201 Spring Street, Burgin, died Monday, October 3, 1994 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital. Born March 7, 1916 in Cornwall, VA he was the son of Mary Ann Southers Elkin of Burgin and the late Joseph H. Hayslett. He had worked as a pipe line installer for Hayslett Mechanical Contractors, was a member of the Kentucky National Guard and a member of the Baptist faith. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include: his wife, Hester McKinney Hayslett; four sons, Joseph H. Hayslett, Burgin, Bobby Hayslett, Cornishville, Ira Hayslett, Chicago and William Hayslett, Lexington; two brothers, Gil Hayslett, Harrodsburg and Clyde Hayslett, Burgin; six grandchildren and one great grandchild. One daughter, Jean Hayslett, preceded him in death. Visitation was from 3:00 - 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and 7:00 a.m. until time of service on Thursday. Funeral services will be Thursday, October 6 at 11:00 a.m. at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with the Rev. John Penick officiating. Burial will be in Burgin Memorial Gardens. Mr. Arlie Ray Ward, 80, of Cumming, Georgia died Tuesday evening, October 4, 1994. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Tosh Ward. Survivors include: two sons, James Ward, Cumming, GA, Richard Lockwood, Harrodsburg; one brother, Cecil Ward, Denver; two sisters, Mrs. Lillie Bauer, DeKalb, IL, Mrs. Annie Clark, Harrodsburg; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. WILBERT ROBINSON
Mr. Wilbert C. Robinson, age 67, of 613 High Bridge Road, Lancaster, died Wednesday, October 5, 1994, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Lexington. Born April 10, 1927 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Everett and Bessie Medley Robinson. He was the widower of Hazel Carey Robinson. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II, a retired self-employed farmer and a member of the Buena Vista Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons: Larry Wayne Robinson of Lancaster and Danny D. Robinson of Nicholasville; one brother; Charlie Wesley Robinson, Versailles; one sister, Frances Cartwright of Nicholasville; three grandchildren. One son, Wilbert Edward "Buster" Robinson preceded him in death. Funeral services were held Saturday, October 8 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. Gilbert Robinson officiating. Mrs. Vicie Elizabeth Johnson, 74, 210 East Broadway, died Wednesday, October 5, 1994 at Haggin Memorial Hospital in Harrodsburg. Born November 27, 1919 in Fayette County, she was the daughter of the late Abe Griffieth and Mary Vergie Davis Griffieth. She was the widow of William Glad Johnson. She was a homemaker and a member of Jehovah's Witness. Survivors include: two sons, Abe Vinyard, Harrodsburg, and Alvin Vinyard, Stanford; a daughter, Joyce Vinyard, Lexington; two brothers, Ray Griffieth and Edward Griffieth, both of Mercer County; two sisters, Jewell Buchanan, Middletown, OH, Betty McGinnis, Harrodsburg; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Services for Mrs. Johnson were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 7 at the Ransdell Funeral chapel. Henry Johnson officiated with burial in Spring Hill Cemetery. Mr. Paul C. Gale, 79, of Farmington, CT., died Monday, October 3, 1994 at his residence. Survivors include: his wife, Anna Gale; ten children, including Judy McRay of Harrodsburg, 23 grandchildren, including Aaron and Tessa Ann McRay, both of Harrodsburg; and six great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday, October 7, in Farmington.

KENNETH PARKER
Mr. Kenneth E. Parker, 73 years old, of 213 Dudley Drive, died Sunday, October 9, 1994 at his residence. Born July 6, 1921 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late William Harlan Parker and Jennings Bryant Chapman Parker. He was the husband of Vivian Hughes Parker. He was a self-employed barber. He was a member of St. Andrews Catholic church, Past President of the Church Council, served on the finance committee at church, life time member and past commander of VFW and American Legion, Past district commander of VFW and American Legion, 40/8 group, served as treasurer for Fish and Game Club for years, State Service Officer, State Quarter Master - American Legion, and past president of Mercer Little League. He was an army veteran of World War II. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include: a son, Kenneth E. Parker, II, Mill Valley, CA; two daughters, Ann Crosier, Ocala, FL and Bonnie Moore, Burgin; two step sons, Marc and Steven Norvell, both of Harrodsburg; one brother, Donald Parker, Greenfield, IN; two sisters, Madeline Yocum, Salvisa, Hazel Edmondson, Lawrenceburg; five grandchildren. Services for Mr. Parker were held Wednesday, October 12, 10:30 a.m., at St. Andrews Catholic Church with Fr. Joe Muench officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery with military rites. CARL McMULLIN
Mr. Carl Gale McMullin, 56 years old, of 666 Bellows Mill Road, died Saturday, October 8, 1994 at his residence. Born October 7, 1938 in Mercer County, he was the son of Hazel Ruth Bradley McMullin and the late Richard Carl McMullin. He was a meat cutter in grocery stores in Lexington, Burgin, Danville, and Ohio. He was a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church. Survivors include: his mother, Hazel Ruth Bradley McMullin Long; stepfather, Clyde Long; a sister, Mrs. Bob Shannon, Louisville. Services for Mr. McMullin were held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 10 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Bill Eldridge and Coleman Burke officiated with burial in Spring Hill Cemetery. BARBARA MORRIS
Mrs. Barbara Coovert Morris, age 47, died in Ypsilanti, MI, October 9, 1994. Born January 26, 1947, she was the daughter of Wilfred Coovert of Harrodsburg and Mary Leonard Coovert of Chelsea, MI. She graduated from Ann Arbor High School and attended Cleary College. She was a member of the Dixboro United Methodist Church. Survivors, in addition to her mother, include: two sons, Jason and Jeffrey Morris, both of Ypsilanti; three sisters, Roberta Leonard, Vega Baja, PR, Bertha Leonard and Patricia Peterson, both of Chelsea;and several relatives here, including, Herbert Coovert, LaVerne Grider, Ret Gritton, Jimmy Springate, Tim and Dierdra Springate, and Cathy and Steve Landers. She was preceded in death by her father, maternal grandparents, Peter and Bertha Katopodis, Ann Arbor, MI, and paternal grandparents, David and Edith Coovert of Harrodsburg. Funeral services for Mrs. Morris were held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 12 and the Dixboro United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Cochran and the Rev. Charles Marble officiating. Mr. Marvin J. Lester, 75, of 374 Bob-O-Link Dr,, Lexington, died Friday October 7, 1994 at the Veteran's Administration Medical Center in Lexington. Born December 17, 1918 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Willie and Nora McMullins Lester. He was the husband of Mae Cummins Lester. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II, a former mechanic for International Trucking in Lexington and a member of the Benton Baptist Church. Survivors, besides, his wife, include: one daughter, Carol Ann Reynolds, Lexington; one sister, Ophelia Kenney, Lexington; one granddaughter. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert D. and Morris Lester and two sisters, Minnie Kenziler and Mertie McGinnis. Funeral services for Mr. Lester were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 10, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Jerel M. Coffey officiating. Mr. Jerry Isaacs, 59, of Burgin, husband of Shirley Bradford Isaacs, died Wednesday, October 12, 1994 at his residence. He was a retired employee for the State of Kentucky. Mr. James Garnett Dean, 74, of Louisville, died October 13, 1994 at Mt. Holly Nursing Home in Louisville. Born April 12, 1920 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Harry Lee and Josephine Lapkin Dean. He was a retired employee of General Electric Appliance Park and a Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include: three sisters; Mrs. Denver (Irene) Wilson, Harrodsburg, Mrs. Aaron (Joyce) Kessler, Louisville and Mrs. Andy (Faye) Angaitis of Dayton, OH; one brother, Walter F. Dean, Kingsport, TN. He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. Funeral services for Mr. Dean were held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, at the Arch L. Heady Southern Funeral Home in Louisville with Dr. Charles E. Burgin officiating. Burial was in Louisville Memorial Gardens West.

JOSEHPUS DUNN
Mr. Josephus (Joe) Dunn, 75, of Sadieville, died Sunday, October 16, 1994. A native of Scott County, he was the son of Abe and Mettie Dunn. He was a retired security guard and a member of Boyers Chapel. He was the husband of Anna Lou Reffett Dunn. Other survivors include: two sons, James Edward Dunn, Harrodsburg, Gary Keith Dunn, Stamping Ground; three sisters, Thelma Jones, Nicholasville, Sylvia Croswaite, Lexington, and Odella Edwards, Corinth; four grandchildren. A sister, Elva Jones, and a brother, Gene Dunn preceded him in death. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, at Johnson's Funeral Home in Georgetown with the Rev. Terry Reffett and the Rev. Greg Lytle officiating. Burial was in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were James Earl and Jason Keith Dunn, Russel Croswaite, Donald Jones, Danny Dunn, Gerald Reffett, Gayle Osborne and Jimmy Hutcherson.

FRANCES FAIN
Mrs. Frances Louise Evans Fain, 82, of Harriman, TN died Tuesday, October 11, 1994 at her home. Born January 16, 1912, she was a native of Jessamine County. She formerly resided in Lawrenceburg. She was the daughter of the late Delbert Evans and Jessie Louise Shearer Evans. She was a retired employee of Texas Instruments, Versailles, and a member of the Cahtolic church. Survivors include: two sons, Raymond H. Fain, Salvisa, Virgil Fain, Jr., Lawrenceburg; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Gwendolyn) Collins, Mrs. Ronnie (Judy) Sames, Lawrenceburg; one sister, Elizabeth Louise May, Lexington; 21 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Fain were held Friday, October 14, at Gash Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Joe Riggs officiating. Burial was in Lawrenceburg Cemetery. ELIZABETH CURTSINGER
Mrs. Elizabeth Boswell Curtsinger, 79, 3217 Louisville Road, died Sunday, October 16, 1994 at 8:10 p.m. at the Harrodsburg Health Care Manor. A Washington County native, formerly of Mackville, she was born October 10, 1915 to the late Merritt Alonzo and Viva Taylor Boswell. She was retired from the Mackville School cafeteria and a member of the Mackville Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wood Curtsinger, on June 20, 1986, and a brother, Bruce Boswell, 1979. Survivors Include: four sons, Carl Curtsinger, Charles Curtsinger and Tommy Curtsinger, all of Harrodsburg, Tony Curtsinger, Lexington; two daughters, Mrs. Delbert (Dorcas) Holt, Harrodsburg, and Mrs. Eugene (VivEllen) Chesser, Willisburg; two brothers, Lonnie Boswell, Springfield, and James Boswell, Harrodsburg; four sisters, Mattie Mattingly, Springfield, Mary Kate Darland, Mackville, Grace Black, Frankfort, and Gladys Rose, Buffalo; 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Curtsinger were held Wednesday, October 19, at the Mackville Baptist Church at 2 p.m. The Rev. Paul Readnour, former pastor of Mackville Baptist Church officiated. Assisting were the Rev. James Harley, Fellowship Baptist Church in Harrodsburg, and the Rev. Lee Lambert, pastor of Mackville Baptist Church. TONE HARNED
Mr. Tone Goodin Harned, 88, of Boston, Ky., died Sunday, October 2, 1994 at Clark Memorial Hospital, Jeffersonville, In. Born August 3, 1906, he was a native of Nelson County. He was the widower of Alice Cassell Harned, formerly of Harrodsburg. He was a graduate of the University of Kentucky, a retired farmer and schoolteacher and a member of the Boston Christian Church. Mr. Harned and his wife had both been school teachers in Mercer County. He had been basketball coach at McAfee High School. Burial was October 3rd in Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. MARVIN BARNES
Mr. Marvin H. Barnes, 73, of 546 Pinkston Court, died Tuesday, October 18, 1994 at his residence. Born May 28, 1921 in Washington County he was the son of the late John and Ettie Tyler Barnes. He was retired from the City of Harrodsburg, Parks Department and served in the U. S. Army in World War II. Survivors include: his wife, Frances Smith Barnes; one son, Donald "Buddy" Barnes, Harrodsburg; four daughters, Elizabeth Votaw, Margaret Claunch, Virginia Edwards and Joyce Devine, all of Harrodsburg; two brothers, Elmer "Pete" Barnes and G. W. Barnes, both of Harrodsburg; two sisters, Ina Pendegrist, Perryville and Virginia Curtsinger, Mercer County; 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. One son, Denzil Marvin Barnes, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be Thursday, October 20th at 2:30 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. James Harley officiating. ROY CAMPBELL
Mr. Roy Mills Campbell, 78, 128 Water Street, Clinton, MA, died Sunday, October 16, 1994 in Massachusetts after a short illness. He was a native of Harrodsburg and was the son of the late W. Owen and Vergie Mills Campbell. He was formerly with Campbell Brothers Contractors and Builders and later became president of Standard Sign and Signal in Clinton, MA. He was a World War II Navy veteran, member of the American Legion, Lions Club and Masonic Lodge, all of Harrodsburg. He was a former member of the Harrodsburg United Methodist Church. Survivors include: two daughters, Barbara Joyce Woosley, Richmond, Carla Mallard, Clinton, MA; one sister, Thelma Graves, Mackville; three stepsons and a step daughter; seventeen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 19, at the Evangelical Congregational Church in Lancaster, MA. Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Clinton, MA. James E. FLORENCE GABHART
Mrs. Florence Gabhart, 76, died Sunday, October 23, 1994, at a hospital in Okeechobee, Florida. Born September 18, 1917, she was a native of Wisconsin. She is survived by her husband, Verlin Gaither Gabhart, Okeecho-bee; two brothers-in-law, Chester and Murrell Gabhart, Harrodsburg; a sister-in-law, Mabel Berry, Glasgow; one brother in Florida and two sisters in Wisconsin. RICHARD SELLECK
Dr. Richard Hilton Selleck, 81, of 146 Park Place, died Thursday, October 20, 1994 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. Born October 18, 1913 in Boise, Idaho, he was the son of the late Edwin Curtis Selleck and Sue Hilton Selleck. He was the husband of Elizabeth Sharp Selleck. He was a Doctor of Chiropractic and practiced his profession in Harrodsburg for 57 years. He was a member of the Harrodsburg United Presbyterian Church, where he had served as Deacon and Trustee, a graduate of Lincoln College of Chiropractics, member and past chairman of the board of the Kentucky Association of Chiropractors and was awarded the honor of Chiropractor of the year in 1984-85. He was a member of Mercer Masonic Lodge #777 F&AM, past president of the Harrodsburg Lions Club, former Scout Master of Boy Scout Troop #39, served in the Kentucky State Militia as a staff sergeant and former Public Relations Director of the Mercer County Rationing Board. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include: a son, Richard Hilton Selleck II, Harrodsburg; a sister, Eleanor Edmondson, of Honolulu, Hawaii. CARL McCRYSTAL
Mr. Carl Matthew McCrystal, 80, of 520 Shenandoah Drive, died Sunday, October 23, 1994 at Jewish Hospital, Shelbyville. Born September 13, 1914 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late James Henry McCrystal and Cecilia Claunch McCrystal. He was the widower of Ethel Louise Pulliam McCrystal. He was a retired Maintenance Supervisor at Corning Glass, a member of American Flint Glass Workers Union Local #1016, where he served as Secretary for several years, and a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church. Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Jesse (Pat) Wallace, New Castle, Ky., Carlanne McCrystal, Hilo, Hawaii; one brother, Sylvester McCrystal, Lexington, and two grandchildren. Services for Mr. McCrystal will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 27 at the St. Andrew Catholic Church. JOHN W. McCLELLAN
Mr. John W. McClellan, age 91, 550 Cane Run, died at the Haggin Memorial Hospital on Thursday, October 20, 1994. Born July 13, 1903 in Muhlenburg County, he was the son of the late John and Della Corley McClellan. A graduate of Greenville High School, he attended the University of Kentucky College of Civil Engineering. From 1925 to 1930, he was surveying engineer for Kentucky Hydro Electric Company and Kentucky Utilities Company during the construction of Dix Dam in Mercer County. After the completion of Dix Dam, he formed the J. W. McClellan Construction Company in Harrodsburg doing residential and commercial building until his retirement in 1975. He was a licensed civil engineer and land surveyor, a charter member of the Kentucky Society of Professional Engineers and a former member of the National Society of Professional Engineers. Past president and honorary member of the Harrodsburg Lions Club, former member of the Harrodsburg Historical Society, partner in the McClellan Funeral Home, member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church and the Glad Hand Sunday School Class. He is survived by his wife, Anne Elizabeth Rives McClellan, Harrodsburg; a daughter, Mrs. Andrew (Anne Shannon) Williams of Harrodsburg, two sons, Dr. John W. McClellan, Jr., Henderson, and Joseph R. McClellan of Harrodsburg; one brother, Loys McClellan, Harrodsburg; seven grand children and four great grandchildren. Mr. Tom Bradley Berry, 76, of 110 South Bellaire Avenue, Louisville, died Monday, October 24, 1994 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Louisville. Born September 15, 1918 in Jessamine County he was the son of the late Joe and Mary Whitehouse Berry. He was a retired maintenance person at the Kentucky School for the Blind, served in the U. S. Army during World War II and was a member of the Clifton Baptist Church, Louisville. Survivors include: his wife, Lillie Gray Berry; one step-son, Robert Clark, Campbellsville; one step-daughter, Florence B. Breniser, South Bend, IN; one sister, Mrs. Lucille Berry Howard, Louisville; five step-grandchildren; 16 step-great grandchildren and three nieces. One step-son, Charlie Clark, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 27 at 11:00 a.m. at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Holliday officiating. Mrs. Virgie Ina Denny Prewitt, 87, of MedCo Center in Springfield died Wednesday, October 26, 1994 at her residence. Born September 16, 1907 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Mary Belle Growe Denny. She was the widow of Lone Prewitt. She was a former employee at the Shakertown School, a member of Shakertown Baptist Church and was a former piano player at the Shawnee Run Baptist Church and the Shakertown Baptist Church. Survivors include: a son, Stanley "Bud" Prewitt, Harrodsburg; four daughters, Mary Anna Bottom, Springfield, Louise Sims, Hamilton, OH, Pat Cocanougher, Harrodsburg and Loretta Mudd, Campbellsville; three brothers, Dudley Denny of Burgin, Thurman Denny of Lancaster and Russell Denny; two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Pierce, Burgin and Mrs. Anna O'Daniel, Texas; 19 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Harvest Mae Bottom and one brother, Herbert P. Mr. Donald Evan Cosby, 35, of Dallas, Texas, formerly of Louisville, died Monday, October 24, 1994 in Dallas. He was the son of Donald and Sara Cunningham Cosby, formerly of Harrodsburg. He was a student at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas and an employee of Holt-Rinehart & Winston Publishers in Irving, Texas. Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 26 at Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home, Irving. Private funeral services were held Friday, October 28 at Spring Hill Cemetery. THOMAS DORSEY
Thomas Dorsey, Jr., 67, died October 23, 1994, at Birmingham, Ala. He was born in Perryville. He served in the U. S. Navy twenty years and was a veteran of World War II and Korea. He is survived by his wife, Flo; four sons, Cliff, of Texas, Tom, Curtis and Adam, of Pensacola, Fl.; one brother, Donald Dorsey, Louisville; three sisters, Mrs. Ila B. Jacobs, Ocean Springs, Miss., Juanita Kraft, Chicago; and Mrs. Margaret D. Landers, Harrodsburg; and five grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted October 26 at Milton, Fla. JAMES PHILLIPS
James Roy Phillips, 65, of 124 Redwood Terrace, died Saturday, October 29, 1994 at his residence. Born September 6, 1929 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Joseph Roy Phillips and Mary King Phillips. He was the husband of Dortha Case Phillips. He was a carpenter and a member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church and served in the Army National Guard. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include: a daughter, Sherry P. Bugg, Harrodsburg; a step son, Terry Lee Smith, Lexington; two sisters, Mary Ann Hisle, Michigan, and Peggy Hendren, Nicholasville; and two grandsons. A son, Lee Phillips, preceded him in death. Services for Mr. Phillips were held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 31 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Dr. David Hartman and the Rev. Carroll Wallace officiating. ELLA McMURRY
Mrs. Ella Hazel McMurry, 81, of 2228 Oregon Road, Salvisa, died Monday, October 31, 1994 at the Garrard County Memorial Hospital in Lancaster. Born December 14, 1912 in Whitley County, she was the daughter of the late Charles H. Walters and Lettie Sutton Walters. She was the widow of Charles E. McMurry, Sr. She was a retired employee of the Mercer County School System and a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. Survivors include: a son, Charles E. McMurry, Jr., Harrodsburg; a brother, Delbert Walters, Danville; a sister, Ada Allender, Burgin; two grandchildren and five great grandchildren. JAMES RAWLINGS
James Edward Rawlings, Sr., 75, 2060 St. Christopher Dr., Lexington, husband of Virginia Parsons Rawlings, died Saturday, October 29, 1994 at his residence. A native of Frankfort, he was a son of the late Ezekiel and Callie Metts Rawlings. He was a member of the Midway Baptist church and a retired production supervisor for Proctor and Gamble. Besides his wife, survivors include: a daughter, Carol P. Rawlings, Lexington; three sons, James E. Rawlings, II, Kissimmie, FL, Bruce D. Rawlings and Scott G. Rawlings, both of Lexington; a brother, Paul J. Rawlings, Harrodsburg; a sister, Edith R. Mitchell, Midway; six grandchildren. ROY EDWARDS
Mr. Roy D. "Pete" Edwards, 81, of 213 South College Street, died Saturday, October 29, 1994, at his residence. Born October 8, 1913 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Ben F. and Willmetta Dailey Edwards, Sr. He was a retired sales representative for the A. C. L. Hallse Company in St. Louis, Missouri, a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church and a graduate of Centre College. Survivors include: two sons, David A. Edwards and Robert E. Edwards, both of Pensacola, Fla. one daughter, Joan Edwards Carter, Myrtle Grove, Fla.; one brother, Ben F. Edwards, Jr., Harrodsburg; one sister, Evelyn Sevedge of Beech Grove, Ind.; and eight grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 10 at 7:00 p.m. at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Dr. Robert DeFoor officiating. ALICE SIGAR
Mrs. Alice Coffey Sigar, 87, of 570 Cogar Avenue, died Sunday morning, November 6, 1994, at 12:20 a.m. at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. Born September 20, 1907, she was the daughter of the late James and Petrie Clark Coffey. She was the widow of George Walter Sigar. She was a housewife and a member of the Centennial Baptist Church. Survivors include: a son, James H. "Jack" Sigar and a daughter, Rosa Sigar, both of Harrodsburg; a brother, James Coffey and a sister Lucille Baker, both of Jeffersonville, Ind.; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Sigar were conducted Wednesday, November 9, at 1:30 p.m. at the Centennial Baptist Church with Rev. John D. Short III and Rev. G. H. Childs officiating. DANIEL WATERS
Captain Daniel Dawson Waters, 77, of Miami, Fla., died Tuesday November 1, 1994 in Miami. He was a son of the late Mrs. Carroll P. Price. A 1943 graduate of the United States Military Academy, West Point, with a Masters degree from Columbia University, he served in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He taught at the Kentucky Military Institute, Venice, Florida and was retired from the Dade County School System in Florida. Survivors include: his wife, Mary Jane Waters; two sons, Daniel Dawson, Jr., and Joseph Thomas Waters; three grandchildren, all of Miami; two brothers, Col. Charles H. Waters, Bella Vista, Ark. and Carroll M. Price, Farmers Branch, Tex; two sisters, Mrs. Paul (Anita) Kinnucan, Lake Forest, Il., and Mrs. R. L. (Mary) Chambless, Harrodsburg. A memorial service is planned at Arlington National Cemetery.

WILLIE HOLIDAY
Mrs. Willie Ross Holliday, 79, of 120 Meadow Lane, Springfield passed away at 3:35 a.m. Tuesday, November 1, 1994 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville after a brief illness. Born July 21, 1915, she was a native of Washington County. She was the daughter of the late William and Lizzie Masters Ross. She was a member of the Mt. Freedom Baptist Church in Washington County and was preceded in death by her husband, B. D. Holliday on January 25, 1989. Survivors include: three daughters, Mrs. Eula Goodlett of the Kirkland community of Washington County, Mrs. Terry (Devola) Curtis of Prospect and Mrs. Jack (Gayla) Tapp of Springfield; one step-son, Ralph Holliday, Little Rock, Ark.; a sister, Mrs. Ollie Baker, Springfield; a half-sister, Mrs. Lena Clark, Houston, Tex.; six grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, two great grandchildren, twelve step-great grandchildren and ten step-great great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, November 4, 1994 at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. John McDaniel, pastor of Mt. Freedom Baptist Church, officiating. He was assisted by a grandson, the Rev. Ritchie Curtis, Youth Minister of the First Baptist Church of Corbin and the Rev. Ken Graham, pastor of the Springfield Baptist Church. Burial was on Cemetery Hill in Springfield. Pallbearers were Kenneth Goodlett, Jr., Ritchie Curtis, John Martin Tapp, Bobby Holliday, Jerry Darland and Martin Burns.

CORDIE ALLEN
Mrs. Cordie Allen, age 86, a resident of Freda Settles' Family Care Center, 746 High Street, died Thursday, November 3, 1994, 7:40 a.m., at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital. Born September 16, 1908 in Green County, she was the daughter of the late Owen and Sarah Sanders. She was the widow of Homer Allen. She was a housewife, a member of the Centennial Baptist Church and a member of the Mercer County Senior Citizens. Survivors include: two stepdaughters - Louise Walker, Harrodsburg, Linda Beasley, Cincinnati; one stepson, Robert Allen, Harrodsburg. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday November 6 at the Centennial Baptist Church with Rev. John D. Short III officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers were William "Bo", George and Nicky Yeast, Duke and Charles Dunn and Sam Wheat. Parks Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
