MR. GEORGE MORRIS
Man Found Dead On Local Farm
A local man was found dead Thursday evening on a farm on Mackville Road. Foul play is not suspected.
Mercer County Deputy Ricky Moberly believes William Marty Estepp of Rose Hill and formerly of Chicken, AL, also known as George Edgar Morris of California, died of natural causes. Autopsy results have not returned.
Identification in his wallet listed the man as Estepp, but the sheriff's department have identified him more correctly as Morris, who was wanted for a parole violation in California.
Morris was helping work on a fence at 1573 Mackville Rd. for Lynn Readnour. He complained of not feeling well. Readnour was to take him home when he finished the almost completed job. When Morris did not return from the field, Readnour went looking for him, finding him at 8:45 p.m. He was dead.
Moberly said no next of kin has been located at this time.
