David Cecil Catlett, 71, of 195 Daisy St., died Sunday April 25, 1999 at Central Baptist Hospital.Born October 21, 1927 in Harrodsburg he was the son of the late Cecil and Christine Gorham Catlett.
He was a retired farmer and a member of Bethel Cumberland #1 Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include: one son, Larry Catlett, Harrodsburg; two daughters, Peggy Vandivier, Harrodsburg, and Charlotte Christine Williams, Paducah; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 27, at the Spring Hill Cemetery with Terry Cornish officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were James Donald Logue, Ricky Peyton, Larry Peyton, William D. Taylor, Elvin Anderson and David Patrick.

Catherine Hardin Moore, 88, widow of Charles Harrison Moore, and mother of Judith Moore Cheney, Asheville, NC and Charles Tucker Moore, Redington Beach, FL, died December 22, 1998 at Pardee Hospital, Hendersonville, NC.
Graveside services for the interment of ashes will be held in Spring Hill Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 30.

Michael Dewayne Teater, 24, of 749 Moberly Road, died Sunday, April 25, 1999 at his residence in Harrodsburg.
Born January 27, 1975 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of Wesley Howard Teater, Jr. of Lake Helen, FL and Patsy Ryan Phillips of Harrodsburg.
He was an assembly line worker for Hitachi Automotive Products USA, Inc., a member of the New Hope Baptist Church and an avid fisherman and race car fan.
He was a 1994 graduate of Mercer County High School.

Katherine Poor Gentry, 77, died Tuesday, April 6, 1999 in Blacksburg, VA.
Born December 6, 1921 in Wilmore, she was the daughter of the late Walker Brown and Katherine Elizabeth Singleton Poor.
She had lived in Danville, where she was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and graduated from Centre College with the Class of 1942. She had resided in Lakeland, FL for 22 years and was an active member of the Presbyterian Church in the Highlands.
Survivors include: her husband, William Henry Gentry, Blacksburg, VA; one daughter Harriet (Douglas Y.) Cobb, Savannah, GA; two sons, William H. II (Sara Marsh) Gentry, Blacksburg, VA, James Walker (Holly Jackson) Gentry, Lacoochee, FL; one sister, Virginia Frances (Mark M.) Moseley, Owensboro, KY; one brother, William Brown (Shirley Ford) Poor of Kissimmee, FL; six grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held May 1, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Presbyterian Church in Harrodsburg. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Ethel McGlone Freeman, 86, formerly of 333 E. Office Street, widow of Elmer Freeman, died Monday, April 26, 1999 in Broadhead.
Born September 26, 1912 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Matt and Mecie Noel McGlone.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Ellers Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include: four nieces, Bonnie Milburn, Doris Weddle, Barbara Newby, and Marie Moss; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Cecil McGlone. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil and Robert McGlone.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 28, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Whitehouse officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Vertie B. Durr, 73, of 467 W. Broadway, died Wednesday, April 28, 1999 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born March 19, 1926 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Amos and Lona Bell Waldridge Harley.
She had been a clerk for Dollar General and was a member of the Pioneer Baptist Church and the church choir.
Survivors include: two sons, William and Lynn Durr, both of Harrodsburg; one daughter, Patricia Bramblet, Augusta, GA; three sisters, Ruby Travillian, Elsie Lewis and Vernetta Walker, all of Harrodsburg; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister, Bonnie Watts; two brothers, Milton and George Harley.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 1, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Rev. Lewis Walter and Rev. John Hockersmith III officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

DANIEL WATTS
Daniel H. Watts, 75, of Shepherdsville, died Tuesday, April 27, 1999 at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville.
He was a native of Mercer County, a retired employee of the old Dealer s Transport in Louisville where he worked for over 26 years, an Army veteran of World War II, a member of Teamsters Local Union 89 and Rock Springs Primitive Baptist Church in Gray Hawk, Ky.
He is survived by four daughters, Florence Riley of Burgin, Linda Watts and Peggy Palmer, both of Harrodsburg, and Brenda Kinder of Shepherdsville; four sons, Glen and Harvey Watts, both of Shepherdsville, Larry Watts of Casey County and Norman Watts of Houston, TX; two sisters, Beulah Moss of White City and Delois Sims of Harrodsburg; a brother, Connie Watts of Harrodsburg; 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 1, at Maraman Billings Funeral Home in Shepherdsville with Rev. Donald Wheat officiating. Burial was in Highland Memorial Gardens at Mt. Washington.

Emily Pearl Lane, 67, of 1565 Blue Bird Lane, Lexington, died Friday, April 30 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.
Born March 26, 1932 in Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Arnold Lee and Nellie Bowman Driskell.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church.
Survivors include: three sons, Julian N. Dean, Sidney, Ohio, Carroll O. Dean and Tony V. Dean, both of Lexington; one daughter, Jeanie Ann Dean, Lexington; three brothers, Hollie Driskell, Corinth, Gene Driskell, Cincinnati, OH and James Driskell, FL; one sister, Ethel Lee Miller, Frankfort; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Blanton Dean.

Gilbert Lee Norvell, 80, of 313 N. East Street, died Thursday April 29, 1999 at the Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born September 16, 1918 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Elwood and Georgia Hatchell Norvell.
He was a retired construction worker and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Ada Claunch Norvell, Harrodsburg; two sons, Jimmie Norvell, Harrodsburg, Ricky Norvell, New York, NY; one daughter, Bonnie Hawkins, Lawrenceburg; one sister, Maudie Sallee, Harrodsburg; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 1, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, with Rev. James Harley officiating. Burial was in the Bruner's Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Lola L. Wilham Robinson, 95, 133 Waterfill Ave., Lawrenceburg, died Tuesday, May 4, 1999 at the Shelby Manor Nursing Home in Shelbyville.
She was a native of Washington County, the daughter of the late Edgar and Cordelia Cornish Wilham. She was the widow of John H. Robinson.
She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one son, Marcus (Jo) Robinson, Lawrenceburg; three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Lavena) Watts, Shelbyville, Mrs. Larry (Azile) Chisholm, Lawrenceburg, Mrs. Phyllis Sims, Louisville and a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Martha Robinson, Lawrenceburg; four sisters, Mrs. Ivonia Warner, Willisburg, Mrs. Mary Rutherford, OH, Mrs. Byrdie Ritchey, OH, Mrs. Margaret Leathers, Lawrenceburg; 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, John H. Robinson, Jr., a brother, Roy Wilham, two half-brothers, Oscar and Willie Wilham, and a sister, Celestus Pearson.

Jerry Ray Perry, 45, of Kings Mountain, died Monday, May 3, 1999 at the UK Medical Center in Lexington.
Born February 5, 1954 in Lincoln County, he was the son of John and Grace Bunch Perry, Broughtentown.
He was a farm equipment employee at Fred Cain Farm Equipment in Danville and minister at Harris Creek Baptist Church in Moreland.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include: his wife, Linda Dixon Perry, Kings Mountain; one son, Brandon Scott Perry, Kings Mountain, two daughters, Jennifer Michelle Perry, Crab Orchard and Rhonda L. Delk, Walltown; three brothers, Delbert Perry and Freddie Perry, both of Broughtentown, and Michael Perry, Moreland; three sisters, Mamie Barron, Mt. Vernon, Wanda Mullins, Broughtentown, and Jean Denny, Brodhead; four grandchildren.

BILLY GLOVER
Billy Franklin Glover, 68, of 745 Perryville Street, died Friday, May 7, 1999 at the Veteran's Hospital in Lexington.
Born July 8, 1930 in LaFayette, TN, he was the son of the late Harrison and Goldie Claybourne Glover.
He served with the US Army during World War II and retired from the Army.
He was a graduate of Western Kentucky University, a former teacher and was the co-owner of B&G Construction Company in Harrodsburg.
He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, and a supporter of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund. He was a past president of the Johnny Cash and Mother Maybelle Carter National Fan Club and an avid country music supporter.
Survivors include: his wife, Maryline Head Glover, Tompkinsville; two daughters, Terah Deiniece Gill, Louisville, and Threesae Washer, Tompkinsville; three grandchildren.
Memorial services were conducted Wednesday, May 12, by Rev. Glenn Dougherty at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home. Burial with military rites was in Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Jessamine County. To celebrate his life a light buffet was served during visitation.

John Edgar Blanton, 84, of Plant City, FL, widow of Dorothy Woods Blanton, died Tuesday, May 4, 1999 in Florida.
Born August 1, 1914 in Rockcastle County, he was the son of the late Ben F. and Ada Simpson Blanton.
He was a retired Ford Motor Company employee.
Survivors include: two sons, John Blanton, Jr., SC and Terry Blanton, OH; four daughters, Sandy Varney, OH, Linda Laws, and Ruth Manginelli, both of FL, and Carolyn Thorton, Louisville. He was preceded in death by one sister, Gertrude Brumett.

Born April 21, 1933 in Washington County he was the son of the late Marvin and Lucy Milburn Ross.
He was a retired maintenance employee at Signet Systems and was a member of the Willisburg Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by a half-brother, Harry McCarty.

He was a retired supervisor for the James Rivers Corp., Lexington, a Navy veteran of WW II, and a member of the Benton Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Aileen Claunch Gilliland, Harrodsburg; three daughters, Mrs. Curtis (Diane) Sims, Mrs. Mike (Rita Gay) Hudson, and Dafnie G. Walls, all of Harrodsburg; one brother, John E. Gilliland, Orange Lake, FL; three sisters, Laversia Hudson and Marna Britton, both of Winslow, IN, and Macle Gilliland, Oakland City, IN; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Mildred L. Moore, 81, died Thursday, May 6, 1999, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.
A native of Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late A. D. Lester and Sarah T. Mayes Lester.
She was retired from the Cabinet of Human Resources and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include: one daughter, Betty Jane Moore, Louisville; one brother, Claude Lester, Harrodsburg. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Pauline Gabhart and Mabel Horn; three brothers, Marvin, Za, and Irvin Lester.

Philip Johnston, 69, of 2081 Vanarsdall Road, formerly of Lexington, died Sunday, May 9, 1999.
A native of Shelbyville he was the son of Suzanne Campbell Johnston, Frankfort, and the late Bernard Johnston.
He was a graduate of Midway High School, an avid airplane pilot and an active member of Mayo Christian Church.
He was a retired Master Sergeant for the US Air Force and had also worked for the Fayette Board of Education in electronics.

Nettie Katherine Casey Medley, 82, of Lawrenceburg, died Saturday, May 8, 1999, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joyce Ann Sallee in Harrodsburg.
An Anderson County native, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Annie Puckett Casey. She was the widow of Worley Medley.
She retired in 1982 as a nurse's aide at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lawrenceburg.
Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Howard (Joyce Ann) Sallee, Harrodsburg, and Mrs. Billy (Barbara) Hatchell, Lawrenceburg; two sons, Bobby (Virginia) Medley and Carroll (Linda) Medley, all of Lawrenceburg; 15 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren; five sisters, Dorothy Coke, Lawrenceburg, Mildred Sloan and Edith Redding, both of Frankfort, Ruth Phillips, Finchville and Betty Cook, Middletown; four brothers, J. Robert J. (Bob) Sutter of West Bend, WI, died Saturday, May 8, 1999 in West Bend.
He formerly lived in Harrodsburg during the late 1960s while serving as plant manager of the former Cudahy Foods plant.

Douglas Wolter Raef, 39, died Monday, May 17, 1999, at the Hospice Care Center at St. Joseph Hospital.
Born May 11, 1960 in Kansas City, MO, he was the son of Bob and Carol Raef of Nicholasville.
He attended school in Lexington and attended Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green.
He had been employed by Daugherty Petroleum and Lexington Energy Group, and managed several businesses, including, Western Auto in Nicholasville, The Dupont Automotive Paint Store in Lexington and Floaters Restaurant on Lake Herrington.
Survivors in addition to his parents, include: his wife, Jeanette Raef, Harrodsburg; a son, Houston Raef, Harrodsburg; one sister, Diane (Carey) Hunt, Versailles; his mother-in-law, Bessie Carroll, Campton.
Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 19, at the Southside Christian Church in Harrodsburg with burial in the Lexington Cemetery.
