Jackie Leman Satterly, 59, of 123 Mulberry St., Burgin, died Tuesday, December 7, 1999 at the Falmouth Rest Home, Falmouth, KY.
Born July 8, 1940 in Washington County, he was the son of Sarah Frances Adkinson Jones and the late Marshal Milton Satterly.
He was a retired employee of Bright s Bottle Gas after 22 years.
He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church, a former City Councilman in Burgin and an Avid UK fan.
Additional survivors include: his wife, Lena Saunders Satterly, Burgin; stepmother, Mary Satterly, Mercer County; one son, Jackie C. Satterly, Boyle County; two daughters, Tina Belcher, Parksville and Deborah Bush, Harrodsburg; two stepsons, Lee Woods and Tony Bailey, Harrodsburg; one stepdaughter Barbara Bottom, Burgin; four step sisters, Ruby Hurst, Harrodsburg, Betty Dixon and Norma Hammons, Mercer County, and Dorothy Ann Stewart, CA; one foster sister, Patty Harden, Harrodsburg; four grandchildren and six step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Dalton Satterly.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 10, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Smith and Bro. James Harley officiating. Burial will be in Burgin Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Frank Brown, Milton Hammons, Scottie Hammons, Rockey Satterly, Tommy Satterly and Jeff Rogers. Honorary bearers will be Bud Bright, John Bright, Mary Emily Wheeler, Glenn Peavler, Tommy Deshon, Richard Shewmaker, Ronnie Broce and A. T. Dean, Jr.

CHARLES CHAMBERS
Charles Kenneth Chambers, 68, died Tuesday, December 7, 1999 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
Born, December 26, 1930, he was the son of the late Alfred Lee and Rosie Pittman Chambers.
He was a security guard at Kaybee Toys for the past 10 years.
Survivors include: two daughters, Connie Chambers Edwards, Lexington, and Gayle Chambers Brown, Harrodsburg; one brother, Elton Chambers, Danville; two sisters, Bess Chambers, Frankfort and Margaret Worthington, Danville; three grandchildren and three step grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, December 10, at the Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home, with Rev. Barry Jeffries officiating. Burial was in the Parksville Cemetery.

Mildred E. Dunn, 77, of Clarksville, IN, died Thursday, December 9, 1999, at the Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, IN.
Born March 3, 1922 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Lora Terhune.
She was a housewife and member of the First Southern Baptist church in Clarksville.
Survivors include: her husband, John L. Dunn Sr., one son, John L. Dunn Jr., Garland, TX; one daughter, Claudia Haehl, Borden IN; two brothers, Claude Terhune, Harlingen, TX and Loren Terhune, Lexington; two sisters, Anne Freeman, Harrodsburg, and Hollie Veatch, Lexington; two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, December 13, at the Chapman Funeral Home in Clarksville, IN with Rev. Russell Lievers officiating. Burial was in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, IN.

Roy Baxter Robinson, 67, of 407 North Main Street, died Sunday, December 12, 1999 at his residence.
Born January 3, 1932 in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Haskell and Hattie Pearl Puckett Robinson.
He was a retired mechanic for Spirit Chevrolet, a farmer and a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Betty Robinson, Harrodsburg; three sons, Connie Roy Robinson, Washington County; Ronnie Roy Robinson, Cornishville, Keith Robinson, Lexington; one step son, Wayne Day, Salvisa; four step daughters, Deborah Sallee, Linda Baker, Wanda Warren and Beverly Taylor, all of Harrodsburg; one brother, Homer Robinson, Harrodsburg; three sisters, Nellie Holderman, Salvisa, Bonnie Trimble, Louisville, May Birch, Athens, GA; nine grandchildren, 14 step grandchildren, three great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Robinson, and a sister, Louise Giles.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 15, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Cal Adams officiating. Burial was in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Sarah Elizabeth Parks Jones, 58, of 228 North Fort Street, died Sunday, December 12, 1999, at the residence of her daughter in Lexington.
Born April 22, 1941 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late James Monroe and Marie Williams Parks.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, a former employee of Modine (Signet) of Harrodsburg and was a check-out clerk for Kroger.
Survivors include: her husband, Scott Lawrence Jones Sr., Harrodsburg; one daughter, Donna Scott, Lexington; four sons, Scott L. Jones, Jr., Lexington; Larry D. Jones, Stanford, James S. Jones, Biloxi, MS, and Kimble L. Jones, Harrodsburg; four brothers, William Henry Parks, Sr., Charles Monroe Parks, Sr., Wallace A. Parks, all of Harrodsburg, and Lucian Parks, Dalton, GA; two sisters, Louise Phillips, San Diego, CA and Cora Allen, Harrodsburg; seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, December 15, at the Centennial Baptist Church with Rev. R. J. Gentry and Rev. J. D. Short III officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery.

FLOY LUNSFORD
Floy McKinley Lunsford, 86, of Hartford, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Friday, December 10, 1999 at the Ohio County Hospital in Hartford.
A native of Jamestown, she was the daughter of the late Finis and Vergie McKinney.
She was a housewife.
Survivors include: six sons, Buddy Lunsford, Rosine, Charles, Kenny, and Billy Lunsford, all of Beaver Dam, Jimmy Lunsford, Jamestown, and Tommy Lunsford, Hartford; five daughters, Jo Linn Sowers, Noblesville, IN, Mary Jane Gustin, Anderson, IN, Darlene Jones, Hartford, Kathy Rhineheimer, Lexington, and Dottie Rose, Nicholasville; one sister, Lorene Thompson, Seaford, DE; 31 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Lunsford, who died April 16, 1975.
Graveside services were held Monday, December 13, at the Ebenezer Cemetery.

Isaleen Carpenter Sparrow, 74, of Perryville, died Tuesday, December 14, 1999 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington.
Born July 21, 1925 in Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late W. B. And Carrie Mae Young Carpenter.
She was a housewife.
Survivors include: two sons, David C. Sparrow, Danville, and Dr. James W. Sparrow, Enterprise, AL; one sister, Etta Mae Bottoms, IN; three brothers, W. B. Carpenter Jr., and Donald Carpenter, both of Springfield, and Duard Webb, Louisville. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Sparrow; three brothers, Wallace Carpenter, Reid Carpenter and James Webb; one sister, Edith Gray.
Funeral services were held Friday, December 17, at the Wilder Funeral Home in Perryville with Rev. Scott Carpenter and Rev. Robert Shockley officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery in Perryville.

J. EARL O'BRYANT
J. Earl O'Bryant, 83, of 328 N. College Street, died Saturday, December 18, 1999 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born in Larue County, February 7, 1916, he was the son of the late Weller and Anna A. Perceful O'Bryant. He was the widower of Adelee Hoefler O'Bryant.
He was a retired investigator for the Commonwealth of Kentucky Department of Agriculture, a navy veteran of World War II and a life member of the VFW.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Breckenridge, #67 F&AM and member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church and the Glad Hand Sunday School Class.
Survivors include: one son, James E. O'Bryant Jr., Dickson, TN; one daughter, Bonnie O. Tanner, Harrodsburg; one brother, Albert Lee O'Bryant, Louisville; one sister Anna Ruth Doss, Columbus, IN; two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, December 21, at the McClellan Funeral Home by Mike Conover. Entombment was in the Evergreen Garden Mausoleum in Louisville.
Pallbearers were Armond Bottom, Kenneth Burns, Connie Ellis, Brennan Royalty, Edwin Freeman, and Milward Dedman.

Matthew Edison Clark, 19, of 220 Heritage Woods, died Thursday, December 16, 1999 at Children's Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.
Born February 11, 1980 in Danville, he was the son of Max. E. Clark, Harrodsburg, and Diana Lynn Whittaker Clark, Mercer County.
He was a pre-pharmacy student at Eastern Kentucky University and was a member of Southside Christian Church.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include: one brother, Christopher Eric Clark, Harrodsburg; half sister, Gwen Clark, Harrodsburg; maternal grandparents, Donald and Jaqueline Whittaker, Harrodsburg; paternal grandparents, Marvin and Lorene Clark, Harrodsburg; step mother, Sheila Clark, Harrodsburg; fiancée, Laura Pinkston, Burgin. He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Ashford Clark.

Nora Carey, 92, of 417 Morgan Avenue, died Saturday, December 18, 1999 at the home of her daughter in Lawrenceburg.
Born September 7, 1907 in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Lucinda Coulter Young.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church and the Glad Hand Sunday School class.
She was also active in the Mercer County Senior Citizens.
Survivors include: one daughter, Mildred (Charles) Stratton, Lawrenceburg; one son, Ernest Reed Goff, Willisburg; one sister, Lizzie Mae Carey, DeKalb, IL; one grandson.

He was a former employee of the Harrodsburg Herald and was a member of the Baptist church. He was also a former Little League Basketball and Baseball Coach.
Survivors include: his wife, Myrtle Ann Tucker Arnold, Perryville; four sons, Jerry Arnold, Boyle County, Gary Arnold and Brian Arnold, both of Mercer County, Roland Arnold Jr., Perryville; one daughter, Cindy Arnold Camic, Perryville; one brother, Billy Arnold, Danville; five sisters, Dolores McCrystal, Mercer County, Peggy Brown, Sandra Dees, Debbie Sallee and Jackie Phillips, all of Harrodsburg; 10 grandchildren.

Joseph Plante, 78, of 598 Lamont Drive, Lexington, died Thursday, December 16, 1999 at the Darby Square Nursing Home in Lexington.
Born September 8, 1920 in Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Edwin and Fabiola Plante.
He was a graduate of Crawford College in San Antonio, TX, a graduate of Kansas City School of Watchmaking and Engraving and retired after more than twenty years in the Engineering Department at IBM.
He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include: two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Pearl Stine of Lawrenceburg and Mrs. May Burchell of Burgin; one brother-in-law, J. C. Stine, Lawrenceburg; one niece, Mrs. David (Dottie) Sims, Burgin; two great-nieces, Mrs. Cheryl Lee Currens and Mrs. Lou Ann Ison, both of Harrodsburg; three great great nieces. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Elizabeth Burchell Plante, who died October 27, 1999.
Funeral services were held Sunday, December 19, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Kenny Speaks officiating. Burial was in Burgin Memorial Gardens.

Grace Simpson Matherly, 101, of Mackville, died Thursday, December 16, 1999, at her residence.
Born April 20, 1898 in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late David and Lillie Hardin Simpson.
She was a member of the Mackville Christian Church.
Survivors include: three daughters, Geri Russell, Orene Matherly and Emogene Matherly, all of Mackville; seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Matherly, June 4, 1964; two sons, Sterling Matherly, April 25, 1984 and Warren Matherly, March 1, 1997; one granddaughter, Phyllis Russell; one sister, Ada Florence Hardin; three brothers, George Simpson, Buford Simpson and Spencer Simpson.

Thelma Perkins Coyle, 89, of Mackville, died Wednesday, December 15, 1999, in the emergency room of the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born June 9, 1910 in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Erastus and Flossie Armstrong Perkins.
She was a member of the Mackville Christian Church.
Survivors include: one son, Jerome (Lena Rae) Coyle, Willisburg; one daughter, Shelby Jean Kiff, Cayce, SC; four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy S. Coyle, May 15, 1987; two brothers, Haldine Perkisn and J. W. Perkins.

Marvin Edison Ballard Sr., 50, of 110B. Marksbury, Lancaster, died Sunday, December 12, 1999 at the Garrard County Memorial Hospital.
Born February 11, 1949, he was the son of Margaret Lucille Mulligan Ballard of Lancaster, and the late Edison C. Ballard.
He was a truck driver.

James Mitchell Comingo, 78, died Tuesday, December 14, 1999,
He was born August 5, 1921 in Harrodsburg,
He was a 31 year veteran of the US Air Force, having served during World War II, Korea and Viet Nam. He retired as a Senior Master Sergeant.
He was a member of American Legion Post 49, a life member of the VFW in Harrodsburg, member of Ballut Abyad Temple of the Shrine, member of Szecwan Blue Lodge #4, Taipei, Taiwan, and a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Valley of Taipei Orient of Taiwan, China.
Survivors include: his wife, Su Chen Comingo, Albequerque, NM; two sons, James Haley of Harrodsburg, George Comingo, Bangor, MA; one daughter, Sharon Proulx, Brewer, MA; one sister, Rosemary Stevenson, Seattle, WA. He was preceded in death by a son, Ricky, in 1994.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 18, in the Chapel of Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle NE, with Rev. Gerald White officiating. Following cremation, burial will be in the Santa Fe National Cemetery with military honors.

Catherine Phillips Driscoll, 82, of 194 Kirkwood Rd., Salvisa, died Friday, December 24, 1999 at her residence.
She was the widow of William Horrace Driscoll and daughter of the late George and Susan Ward Phillips.
She was an Anderson County native, a graduate of Danville School of Nursing and a retired LPN at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
She was a member of the Salvisa Baptist Church for over 35 years and a member of the church choir. She was a member of the Concerned Citizens of Salvisa.
Survivors include: two daughters, Sue Freeman and Carolyn Blakemore, both of Lawrenceburg; two sons, William (Agnes) "Billy" Driscoll, and David (Paula) Driscoll, both of Salvisa; one brother, Charles Phillips, Edenburg, IN; 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, John Phillips.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 28, at the Ritchie-Peach-Todd Funeral Home in Lawrenceburg with Bro. John Hockersmith officiating. Burial was in Sand Spring Cemetery.

William Andrew "Andy" Daugherty, 26, of 7050 Highway 316, Campbellsburg, died Sunday, December 26, 1999 in Campbellsburg as a result of an automobile accident.
A native of Boyle County, he was an employee of Johnson Control in Shelbyville, a member of the Ellers Memorial Baptist Church in Harrodsburg, the Prime Time Car Club, and a 1993 graduate of Henry County High School.
Survivors include: his mother, Deborarh Crossfield Boyd and step father, Robert L. Boyd, both of Campbellsburg; maternal grandmother, Ruth Peyton Crossfield, Lawrenceburg; paternal step grandparents, Charles and Ruby Boyd, Shelbyville. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Bill Crossfield.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 29, at Gash Memorial Chapel in Lawrenceburg with Bro. Doug Boyd and Bro. Mike Hamrick officiating. Burial was in Sand Spring Cemetery in Anderson County.

JAMES BOSWELL
James H. Boswell, 79, of 561 Boswell St., died Wednesday, December 22, 1999 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born April 11, 1920 in Washington County, he was the son of the late Merritt Alonzo and Viviva Taylor Boswell and was the widower of Jewell Lay Boswell.
He was a retired farmer and contractor and a member of Ellers Memorial Baptist Church.
He served in the navy during World War II.
Survivors include: one son, Brennan (Brenda) Boswell, Burgin; one daughter, Betsy Isham (Frank) Potts, Ocoee, TN; one brother, Lonnie Boswell, Springfield,; four sisters, Gladys Rose, Hodgenville, Mary Kate Darland, Mackville, Grace Black, Frankfort, and Mattie Mattingly, Springfield; five grandchildren, Tonya Horn, Bubby Isham, Karen Bell, Jimmy Boswell and Chris Boswell; six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services were held Sunday, December 26, at the Ransdell Funeral chapel with Tony Pinkston and Kenneth Whitehouse officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Eddie Horn, Bubby Isham, Chris Boswell, Jimmy Boswell, Nicholas Moss, Jim Bob Horn, David Hawkins and Joshua Horn.

MILITARY RITES
Douglas Laws Post #52, American Legion, Post #6935, VFW and DAV Post #54 conducted Military Rites for James Boswell at Spring Hill Cemetery on December 26, 1999.
Those attending were: Roy Freeman, Willie Gritton, Louis Ransdell, James Carey, Howard Howells, Buddy Howells and Tommy Lane.
Zena Teater served as bugler.

LOYS McCLELLAN
Loys McClellan, 91, of Harrodsburg Health Care Center, died Monday, December 27, 1999 at the Haggin Memorial Hospital.
He was born December 13, 1908 in Greenville, and was the son of the late John and Della Corley McClellan. He was the widower of Martha Kimmel McClellan.
He was a former member and past president of the Harrodsburg Lions Club, served on the adult board of the Harrodsburg Youth Council, former member of the Mercer County Road Runners and a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church and the Glad Hand Sunday School class.
He was a retired superintendent of the J. W. McClellan Construction Company.
Survivors include: one daughter, Martha McClellan McCloud, Harrodsburg; two sons, John David McClellan, Fort Worth, TX and Jim Ed McClellan, Taylorsville; seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, three step grandchildren and 10 step great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 30, at the McClellan Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Girard officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jeff McClellan, Kenneth McClellan, Jamie McClellan, Davina McClellan, Don Smith Jr., David Quinn. Honorary bearers will be Will Young and Alonzo Meaux.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Mercer County United Way or to the Harrodsburg Lions Club.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday and after 10:00 a.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.

STARR DILLOW
Starr G. Dillow, 88, Salvisa, formerly of Wheelersburg, OH, died Sunday, December 26, 1999 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born January 31, 1911 in Milton, WV, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Edmonds of Barbourville, WV. She was the widow of Raymond Dillow.
She and her late husband owned and operated the Cake Box Bakery in Wellston, OH for a number of years.
Survivors include: two sons, Ernest (Shirley) Applegate, Austin, TX, John (Ellen) Applegate, Salvisa; four sisters, Linnie Cremeans, Barbourville, WV, Fern Cherivassi, Winter Park, FL, Mable Mosurick and Kathryn Clark, Bridgewater, NJ; 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Aline Jarvis.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 30 at the Harrison & Pyles Funeral Home, Wheelersburg, OH, with Rev. Jerry Hager officiating.

KENT SATTERLY
Kent Lee Satterly, 46, of 701 Oak Park Drive, Huntsville, AL, died Thursday, December 23, 1999 in Huntsville.
Born September 16, 1953 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Dalton and Mable Jenkins Satterly.
He was retired from the U. S. Army with 20 years of service, receiving many medals, honors, and special training to further his education. He was an employee of NCCIN, Huntsville, AL.
Survivors include: his wife, Joan Satterly, Huntsville, AL; maternal grandmother, Lori B. Bailey and paternal grandmother Francis Jones, both of Harrodsburg; one daughter, Jennifer Satterly, Largo, FL; his step father, Estle Jenkins, DeKalb, IL; one step son, Jocat Conner, Huntsville, AL; two brothers, Rocky Satterly, of Albertville, AL and Tommy Satterly, Harrodsburg; seven sisters, Debbie Stakston, Rockford, IL, Connie (Robert) Wallace, Cadiz, Lora (Kenny) Kidd, Danville, Peggy (Milton) Wilson, Sycamore, IL, Beverly Larrison, Genoa, IL, Vetta (David) Teater of Harrodsburg, and Mary (Thomas) Bray, DeKalb, IL; one grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home. Burial was in Grapevine Christian Church Cemetery.

EDITH RANSDELL
Edith Gilman Ransdell, 87, of 1778 Talmage-Mayo Road, died Tuesday, December 28, 1999 at Harrodsburg Health Care Center.
Born August 27, 1912 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late John and Julia Ingram Allen.
She was a retired Cricketeer Manufacturing employee and was a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church and Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 309.
She also worked at Shakertown at Pleasant Hill.
Survivors include: three sons, Curtis Ransdell and Carroll Lewis Ransdell, both of Harrodsburg, and Kenneth Ransdell of MD; five grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by tow sons, Leon Ransdell, John Morris Ransdell; one daughter, Julia Marie Ransdell.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, December 30, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, with Steve Sleeper officiating. An Order of the Eastern Star Service will be held at 8:00 p.m., Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Curt Ransdell, Brian Murphy, Mike Woody, David C. Ransdell, Darren Ransdell, Dale Goodpaster, Austin Goodpaster and Jordan Goodpaster.
