Matthew Shawn Hill, age two months, of Dillingham Heights, Richmond, died Saturday, February 17, 1996 at the UK Medical Center in Lexington.
Born December 2, 1995 in Lexington, he was the son of Clifford Allin Hill and Peggy Sue Murphy.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include: two brothers, Bradley Allan Hill and Michael Lynn Murphy; maternal grandmother, Irene Murphy, Harrodsburg; paternal grandparents, Ida Pearl Broyles, Richmond, and Ernest Hill, Corbin.
Services were held at 1:00 PM. Tuesday, February 20, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ted Beam officiating.
A service was also held at the Meadow Grove Baptist Church, Williamsburg, on Wednesday, February 21, with burial in Ortha Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ronnie Hill and Terry Murphy.

Mrs. Catherine Bast Martin, 81, of Old Louisville Road, Salvisa, died Tuesday, February 20, 1996 at Tates Creek Healthcare in Lexington.
Born February 10, 1915 in Bondville she was the daughter of the late James Bast and Maudie Riley Browning. She was a homemaker, attended Salvisa Baptist Church and the widow of Hollis Martin.
Survivors include: two sons: James C. King, Franklin, IN and William Newton Cornish, Harrodsburg, nine grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren. One daughter, Maudie Margaret Stratton preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 22, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. George Dye officiating. Burial will be in the New Providence Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 7:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Martha Ellen Cooper, 89, of 707 Greenwood Dr., died Tuesday, February 20, 1996 at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born July 11, 1906 in Campbell county, TN, she was the daughter of the late John Thomas Perkins and Tressie Adkins Perkins. She was the widow of Fred Cooper.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church.
Survivors include: two son, Bill and Don Cooper, both of Harrodsburg; five daughters, Mrs. Gayle (Alberta) Sims, Lexington, Louise Truesdale, Dayton, OH, Marie Devine, Mackville, Bertha Bearer, Merryville, TN, Jeanette Adams and Betty Stratton, both of Harrodsburg; 22 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by on great grandchild, Scotty Wayne Carmickle.
Services for Mrs. Cooper will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 23, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with the Rev. James Harley officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Carmickle, Randy Truesdale, Fred Truesdale, Gary Devine, Tommy Preston, and Tim Stephens.

JOHNNY SANDERS
Mr. Johnny Sanders, 56, of 417 West Broadway, died Tuesday, February 20, 1996 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born June 25, 1939 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Cassie Sanders Sr. and Elizabeth Belle Davenport Sanders. He was the widower of Betty Edmonds Sanders.
He attended West Side Elementary School, was a graduate of Harrodsburg High School and earned an Industrial Technology Degree from Eastern Kentucky University.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served in Viet Nam and retired as a Master Sergeant.
Survivors include: one daughter, Daphne Sanders, Columbus, MS; three brothers; Alexander Sanders, Memphis, TN, Charles Sanders, Louisville, and Lesley Sanders, Danville; one sister, Mary E. Williams, Lexington. He was preceded in death by a brother, Cassie Sanders, Jr.
Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Gentry officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery.

J. FRANK ADAMS
Mr. J. Frank Adams, 83, former long-time state editor of the Lexington Herald Leader, died Thursday, February 22, 1996, at Lafayette at Country Place, Lexington.
Born September 23, 1912 in Hustonville, he graduated from Danville High School and received a journalism degree from the University of Kentucky in 1934. He was a deacon at Woodland Christian Church in Lexington.
He worked for a time as associate editor of the Georgetown News and held similar posts at the Harrodsburg Herald and Somerset Journal before joining the Lexington Herald.
During the War he was an infantry officer in the Pacific theater and participated in the Okinawa invasion.
Survivors include his wife, Willie Hughes Smith Adams, and a son, William Douglas Adams of Atlanta; one grandchild and one great grandchild.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, February 27, at 1:30 p.m. at Lafayette at Country Place, Lexington, with the Rev. Larry Metzger officiating.

Mrs. Elizabeth Crutchfield King, 86, of Harrodsburg Health Care, died Saturday, February 24, 1996 at Harrodsburg Health Care.
Born August 28, 1909 in Berea, she was the daughter of the late Harry Garner and Molly McRoberts Hughes Crutchfield.
She was a retired secretary and a member of the Christian Church. She was the widow of Thomas Edwin King.
Survivors include: one daughter, Barbara King Calvert, Lawrenceburg; one sister, Geraldine Layton, Lancaster; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Services for Mrs. King were held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 26, at Ransdell Funeral Chapel with the Rev. James Harley officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Lettie Adams, (77) of 657 Larchmont Ave., died Thursday February 22, 1996 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born (February 16, 1919) in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late William C. and Ora Mae Claunch Bailey. She was the widow of James W. Milburn.
She was a retired inspector from Cricketeer Manufacturing, a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church, Mercer County Senior Citizens and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include: three daughters, Carolyn Milburn Hundley, Perryville, Joan Milburn Satterley, Harrodsburg, Marilyn Milburn Vance, Frankfort; two half brothers, Bobby Bailey and Danny Bailey, both of Mercer County; three sisters, Ella White, Gertrude Gray and Hattie Semonis, all of Harrodsburg; four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, James W. Milburn, Jr., and two sisters, Iva Norvell and Louise McMillen;
Services for Mrs. Adams were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 25, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Dr. Robert DeFoor officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Terry Michael Campbell, Jr., age 5, of 478 Rainbow Court, died Friday, February 23, 1996 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born May 30, 1990 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of Terry Michael and Connie Sue Jacobs Campbell.
He was a kindergarten student at Mercer County Elementary School.

Mr. Hugh Jean Carroll, 73, of Hutchins Drive, Georgetown, died Saturday, February 24, 1996 at his residence.
Born December 2, 1922 in Jessamine County, he was the son of the late Bolivar and Julia Shryock Carroll.
He was a retired employee of the Kentucky Department of Forestry and a farmer. He was a former member, deacon and songleader at Cedar Grove Baptist Church and a member of the Long Lick Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Betty West Carroll, Georgetown; one daughter, Lisa Ledford, Lexington; two sons, Ron Carroll, Georgetown, Mike Carroll, Stamping Ground; four sisters, Helen Strange, Wilmore, Rosa Mae Strange, Christine Becknell and Marie Jordan, all of Nicholasville; two brothers, Carlos Carroll, Nicholasville, B. D. "Sonny" Carroll, Harrodsburg; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lorene Becknell.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 27, at the Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Lowell Coots and Rev. Bobby Becknell officiating. Burial was in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Garnett Wilham, 80, Covington, died Wednesday, February 21, 1996 at Saint Elizabeth's Hospital in Covington.
A native of Burgin, he was the son of the late John and Amanda Wilham.
Survivors include: his wife, Fay Sanders Wilham, Covington; three sons, Leo Wilham, Florence, Ron Wilham, Amarillo, TX and Ted Wilham, Latonia; one brother, J. W. Wilham, Murray; one sister-in-law, May Burchell, Burgin; seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Roselle W. Phillips and Maggie W. Mattingly, and a brother, Ed Wilham.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 23, at the Madison Avenue Baptist Church in Covington, conducted by the Rev. James Jenkins. Burial was in Highland Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell.

Mrs. B. V. Stevens, 108, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Friday, February 23, 1996 at the Dover Manor Nursing Home in Georgetown.
Born February 2, 1888 in the Duncan area of Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late John Shelton and Mary Johnson Ransdell.
She was the widow of Joe W. Stevens, a graduate of Beaumont College, Class of 1908, retired schoolteacher, having taught in area Mercer County schools for many years and a member of Grapevine Christian Church.
She is survived by one son, John William Stevens of Lexington.
A graveside service was conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 26 in the Grapevine Christian Church Cemetery by Rev. Claude Waldridge.

Mrs. Faye Catlett Wade, 89, of Franklin Avenue, Danville, died Thursday at the Friendship House.
Born November 2, 1906 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late John Leslie and Cordelia Hungate Catlett.
She was a retired employee of Palm Beach Company and a member of Bethel No. 1 Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was the widow of William Wade.
Survivors include one sister, Beatrice Peavler, Harrodsburg; one brother, Woodrow Catlett, Harrodsburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 25, at the Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home with the Rev. James F. Byrd officiating. Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery, Stanford.

Mr. Clyde Long, 87, of 666 Bellows Mill Road, died Tuesday, February 27, 1996 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born March 15, 1908 in Washington County, he was the son of the late Clarence Nelson and Elva Nicholson Long.
He was a retired farmer, a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church, VFW and was a Kentucky Colonel. He was a former member of Mt. Freedom Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School for 40 years and served as a deacon for 30 years.
Survivors include: his wife, Hazel Bradley McMullin Long, Harrodsburg; a step daughter, Lillie Dale Shannon, Louisville: two brothers, Ray Long, Louisville, William (Bill) Long, Willisburg; two sisters, Cordie Lay, Harrodsburg, Leona Burns, Louisville. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Wilner Lay Long, one step son, Carl Gale McMullin, two brothers, Rev. Homer Long and Leslie Long, two sisters, Edna Votaw and Janetta Long.
Services for Mr. Long will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 29, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Dr. Robert DeFoor officiating, assisted by the Rev. James Harley. Burial will be in Mt. Freedom Cemetery, Washington County.

Mr. Cohen Chilton, 89, of 400 Bomar Heights, Columbia, died Sunday, February 25, 1996 at the Westlake Cumberland Hospital.
Born January 16, 1907 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Lovell Henry and Sue Emma Reed Chilton.
He was a retired grocer in Mercer County, a member of the Burgin Christian Church and had served in the Army during World War II. He was a 50 year Mason.
Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Lucretia and John Begley, Columbia; one brother, Henry Chilton, Brookville, FL; one sister, Ruby Bennett, Harrodsburg; two grandsons and two great grandsons. He was preceded in death by his wife Lola Mae Turner Chilton and one son, Marshall Lawrence Chilton.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 28 at 10:00 a.m. at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home in Harrodsburg with Rev. Rachel James and Rev. Mark Caldwell-Reiss officiating. Burial with military rites were in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Mary Revercomb Nooe, age 85 of Waynesboro, VA and formerly of Frankfort, died Thursday, February 29, 1996, at the Lynchburg General Hospital, Lynchburg, VA.
She was born March 17, 1910 in Clifton Forge, VA and was the daughter of the late Dr. William McMath and Bertha Campbell Revercomb. She was the widow of Ansel Jewell Nooe.
A graduate of Randolph Macon Women's college and a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. she was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian church in Waynesboro, VA and had been an active member of the First Christian Church in Frankfort. She was a homemaker and a retired schoolteacher.
She is survived by two daughters and their husbands: Jean Nooe Miller and Richard A. Miller, of Swoope, VA, Elizabeth Nooe Hulette and Layton T. Hulette, Richmond, VA; seven grandchildren.
A memorial service was held in Lynchburg, VA, Saturday, March 2, and a graveside interment service was at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 3, in Spring Hill Cemetery, conducted by Dr. John C. Chenault and Dr. Paul Stauffer.

She was a member of Shawnee Run Baptist Church, and of the Fidelis Sunday School Class.
She was also a member of the Daughter's of America, Fayette Council #23.

Frederick (Deborah) Hale, Versailles,; one stepdaughter, Bobbie Goss, Louisville, one stepson, Norris (Marsha) True, Nicholasville; two sisters, Elsie Booth, Winchester, Ioma Smith, Lexington; one brother, Felix Reeves, Harrodsburg; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandson.

Mrs. Sallie B. Chestnut McQueen, 89, a 50 year Warren County, OH resident, died Tuesday, March 5, 1996, at Lebanon Health Care.
Born October 19, 1906 in Chestnutburg, KY to Theo and Paulina Hensley Chestnut, she worked as a homemaker and was a member of the High Point Church of God.
Surviving are her first husband, Robert Pitts Sampson, of South Lebanon, OH; three sons, Robert Sampson, Jr., South Lebanon, William H. McQueen, West Chester, OH and Lynn McQueen , Mason, OH; six daughters, Pauline Holloway, South Lebanon, Eileen Lester, Harrodsburg, Katie Sallee, Lexington, Ann Baugh, Versailles, Dortha Lawson, Harrodsburg and Elaine Clark, Newport; one sister, Susan Bowling, South Lebanon; 22 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents and second husband of 22 years, Marion McQueen, in 1974.

Services for Mr. Roller were held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, March 11, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with the Rev. James Harley and the Rev. Don Releford officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Tony Lee Edger, 47, died at 11:00 a.m., March 10, 1996 in Bangor, Maine.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Edger, three daughters, Melissa, Christy and Angela, all of Bangor, ME and his father George L. Edger, Harrodsburg.
He was a graduate of Harrodsburg High School and North Eastern School of Pharmacy in Boston, MA.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Louella Sims Edger.

Mr. Thomas Eugene Lay, 60 of 1417 Warwick Road, died Wednesday, March 6, 1996 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born September 20, 1935 in Mercer County he was the son of the late Hanley and Vivian Vories Lay.
He was a retired self-employed excavation contractor, a U. S. Air Force veteran, former member of Douglas Laws Post Number 52, American Legion, a member of the Mercer Masonic Lodge #777 F&AM, a member of the Bethel Baptist church and a Kentucky Colonel.
Survivors include: his wife, Elizabeth Frye Stringfield Lay, Harrodsburg; one stepson, Billy Stringfield, Danville; one uncle and five step grandchildren. One stepson James Stringfield preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 9, at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Chuck Robinson officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Haldon "Junior" Robinson, Jr., 65, of 2410 Peyton Well Road, Stanford, died Saturday, March 9, 1996, at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born September 6, 1930 in Washington County, he was the son of Haldon Robinson of Lawrenceburg and the late Nettie Pearl Drury Robinson.
He was a retired farmer and a member of the Shawnee Run Baptist Church.
Survivors, in addition to his father, include: three sons, David Wayne Robinson, Hustonville, Billy Gene Robinson, Stanford and Ronald Dale Robinson, Parksville; three daughters, Ann Nanette Mayes, Versailles, Glenda Carol Simpson, Stanford and Nancy Lee McMullin, Harrodsburg; one sister, Gladys Baxter, Alton; eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Theresa Ann Robinson, one brother, J. H. Robinson, and one grandson.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Lester Tirey and Bro. Robert E. Jones officiating. Burial was in the Shawnee Run Baptist Church Cemetery.

Peggy Dean, 52, of Champaign, IL died of cancer, Tuesday, March 26, 1996 at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
She was a 1962 graduate of Harrodsburg High School and was an intensive care nurse for 18 years at the Galesburg Research Hospital and the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL
She is survived by one brother, Eddie Dean, Jr. of Florida and four nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, Barbara Votaw Dean and Eddie Dean, and a sister, Beverly A. Mitchell.

Mr. Fred Alexander Osborne, 79, of 2135 Bondville Road, Salvisa, died Saturday, March 30, 1996, at the Humana Hospital, Lexington.
Born July 30, 1916 in Fayette County, he was the son of the late Eli Osborne and Sophia Myrtle Meeks Osborne.
He was an employee of the U. S. Postal Service where he retired as Superintendent of the North Station Post Office, Lexington. He was a member of the Anderson Christian Church, a Sunday School teacher, former Sunday School Superintendent and Trustee.

He was preceded in death by two brothers Virgil and Eli Osborne.
Services for Mr. Osborne were held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, at Anderson Christian Church, with the Rev. Roger Rankin, Rev. Rick Burdette and Rev. Dan Lillpop officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were William Allen Collins, Glen Allen Collins, Mark Bryan Collins, Craig Taylor, John Duer, Jedediah Smith, Carlton Taylor, Jeremiah Smith. Honorary bearers were deacons and elders of Anderson Christian Church.

Mr. Lee Johnson, 96, of Lee Johnson Road, Paint Lick, died Monday, April 1, 1996 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
A native of Lincoln County, he was born July 3, 1899, the son of the late John and Nannie Adams Johnson.
He was a retired farmer, an avid fox hunter, a member of Good Hope Baptist Church and the widower of Jonny Pearl Poynter Johnson.

Mr. Jerry Allen Boblett, 48, of 233 East Main Street, Burgin, formerly of Willisburg, died Saturday, March 30, 1996 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
A native of Washington County, he was born on July 21, 1947 to the late Hark and Flossie Byrd Boblett.
He was a truck driver for Blue Grass Trucking company and a member of the Trinity Tabernacle Church of Danville.
Survivors include: his wife, Thelma Smothers Boblett, Burgin, four sons, Rex Boblett and Jerry Lee Boblett, both of Lawrenceburg, Chad Boblett, Harrodsburg and Paul Boblett, Burgin; two daughters, Mrs. Chris (Margaret) Holt and Lisa Burns, both of Lawrenceburg, one step son, Joshua Smothers, Burgin; four grandchildren, one step-grandson; one sister, Mrs. James (Devola) Whitehead, Murfreesboro, TN. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jessie Gene Boblett and a step son, Anthony Vaughn Smothers.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 2, at the Willisburg Church of God of Prophecy with the Rev. Henry Tindle of Louisville, officiating. He was assisted by the Rev. Charles White, pastor of the Trinity Tabernacle, Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mr. Loraine Bottom, 77, of Mackville, died Monday, March 25, 1996 at the VA Medical Center in Lexington.
A native of Washington County, he was born on November 15, 1918 to the late Gilbert and Madge Wilson Bottom.
He was a member of the Washington County VFW Post #6951.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Annetta Hayes Bottom, Mackville; two sons, Freddie Bottom and Jerry Bottom, both of Mackville; four daughters, Mrs. Clayton (Kathy) Tyler, Harrodsburg, Mrs. Billy (Judy) Cloyd, Mackville, Mrs. Larry (Maxine) Fenwick and Mrs. Todd (Roxie) Kelty, both of Springfield; five brothers, Thurman Bottom and Carroll Bottom, both of Illinois, Ernest Lee Bottom, Edmonton, Leon Bottom, Lawrenceburg, Madison Bottom, Mackville; three sisters, Emma Cheatham, Bardstown, Florence Bresneham, Oklahoma and Brenda Barr, Mt. Washington; eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Cecil, Wilson and Kenneth Bottom.
Funeral services were held Wendesay March 27, at Carey & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Reed officiating. Burial was in Peter Cemetery, Mackville.
Military rites were held at the gravesite with the Taylor County DVA, Post #70, and the Marion County DVA Post #49, conducting the services.

Mr. Gerald Wayne Royalty, 45, of 735 Moberly Road, died Tuesday, April 2, 1996, at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born September 23, 1950 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Owsley Champion and Irene Baker Royalty.
He was an employee of Corning Glass, a graduate of Mercer County High School and had served in the U. S. Army. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Born May 25, 1889 in Harrodsburg she was the daughter of the late A. M. and Laura Huffman Ross. She was wed to Earl Sawdey, June 1, 1948, in Clinton, who died in 1973.
Survivors include 11 grandchildren, including Charlotte David of Clinton; 22 great grandchildren, including Theresa Bickford of Clinton, and 23 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five sons, a daughter, five sisters and a brother.
A graveside service was held Tuesday, April 2, at Oakland Cemetery, Clinton, Iowa, with Marion Duuck officiating.

He was the pastor of the Shiloh Baptist Church for 30 years and a former moderator of the General Association of Baptist in Kentucky. He was a member of the Lexington Ministers and Deacons Meeting, the Consolidated District, and the Greater Lexington Ministerial Fellowship.

Mr. Guy W. Royalty, 90, of 4317 South 400 West, Hanover, IN, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Thursday, April 11, 1996 at his residence.
Born September 10, 1905 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Frank and Willa Woods Royalty.
He was a retired farmer and a member of the New Prospect Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Gertrude Bryant Royalty, Hanover, IN; three daughters, Jane Kimsey, Louisville, Juanita Cannon, Danville and Joyce Yates, Harrodsburg; two sons, Donald Royalty, Lexington, IN, Dan Royalty, Hanover, IN; four sisters, Mayne Lou Rogers, Richmond, Myrtle Goodpaster and Lillie Mae Robinson, both of Harrodsburg and Maxie Lanham, Springfield; one brother, James Leon Royalty, Lexington; 17 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren.

Mrs. Mary Helen Benge, 64, of 335 Bethel Road, died Thursday April 11, 1996, at her residence.
Born June 13, 1931 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late James T. and Elva Bunch Montgomery.
She was a graduate of Midway College, a member of the Women's Missionary Union of Bethel Baptist Church, a member of Bethel Baptist church and a Child Care Representative for Kentucky Baptist.
Survivors include: her husband, Kenneth Benge, Harrodsburg; one daughter, Carolyn Ann Benge, Mercer County; three sons, John Kenneth Benge, Jr., Ronald Clayton Benge and James Ansel Benge, all of New Mexico; five grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Laura Ellen James.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 16, at the Bethel Baptist Church with Bro. Raymond Long and Bro. Stanley Young officiating. Burial was in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Darren Duane Bottom, 35, of Harrods Creek Apartments, died Friday, April 12, at his residence.
Born January 20, 1961 in Mercer County, he was the son of William Floyd Bottom of Harrodsburg and Rosetta Lanham Cochran of Lakeland, Florida.
He was a truck driver for James Green Trucking Company and a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include: one son, Christopher Duane Bottom, Harrodsburg; three daughters, Crystal Gayle Bottom, Cornishville, Stephanie Renee Bottom, Harrodsburg and Tonya Bottom, Mitchellsburg; two brothers, David Floyd Bottom, Anderson County, Danny Lloyd Bottom of Garrard County; four sisters, Diana Hart, Delores Jean Moberly, Debbie Roach and Doris Bugg, all of Mercer County; one step-granddaughter.

Mrs. Mary Margaret Davis, 58, of 1281 Shelby Street, Junction City, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Thursday, April 11, 1996, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
Born December 16, 1937 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of Mr. Wilburn Peavler of Greenwood, Indiana and the late Josephine Marksbury.
She was a member of the Shelby Baptist Church in Junction City and a homemaker.
Survivors, in addition to her father, include: her husband, R. C. Davis, her step-mother, Nan Peavler, Greenwood, IN; one brother, Joe "Billy" Peavler, Burgin. She was preceded in death by a son, Tommy Davis, one daughter, Mary Ann Davis, and one granddaughter, Josie Davis.
Funeral services were held Sunday, April 14, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Paul McFarland and Bro. William Rogers officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Erma W. Rose, 92, of Harrodsburg, died Sunday, April 14, 1996 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born January 22, 1904 in Jessamine County, she was the daughter of the late Clinton S. and Harriette Louise Hunter Woodard and the widow of Fred Lee Rose.
She was retired from Mercer National Bank, had attended Kentucky College for Women and Fugazzi Business College.
She was a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher for many years.
Survivors include one sister, Lucille Woodard of Wilmore and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 17, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Dr. Robert DeFoor officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Harry Woodard, Clinton Woodard, Jimmy Butler, Thomas Sims, Fred Denny, Tommy Denny, Field Reed, Jr. and John Clint Woodard.

Mr. Earl Snyder, 77, of Versailles, died April 18, 1996 at Veterans Medical Center in Lexington.
A native of Anderson County, he was the son of the late Jacob P. and Sarah Kays Snyder.
He was a retired employee of IBM and a member of the Burgin Christian Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Nancy Walker Snyder, Versailles; one step son, Kent B. Queen, Versailles, and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. James Howard Minor, 74, of 503 South Buell Street, Perryville, died Thursday, April 18, 1996 at the Friendship House in Danville.
Born April 13, 1922 in Kentucky, he was the son of the late James William and Elvira Followell Minor.
He was a foreman of the Kentucky Road Department and a farmer for many years. He was a Kentucky Colonel, former Perryville City Police Judge and an army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include: his wife, Geneva Barnes Minor, Perryville; one son, Wayne Minor, Bradfordsville; one daughter, Page Belcher, Hardinsburg; two sisters, Lucille Richardson, Campbellsville and Laura Boswell, Lebanon; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 22, at the Wilder Funeral Home in Perryville with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Mr. Norman D. Tatum, 55, of 112 Hensley Heights, died Monday, April 22, 1996 at his residence.
Born March 1, 1941 in Mercer County, he was the son of Willie and Louise Pendegrist Tatum.
He was a chief dispatcher for the Norfolk Southern Railroad and a member of the Harrodsburg Church of Christ. He was an army veteran.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include: his wife, Pamela Peavler Tatum, Harrodsburg; three sons, Spencer and Stanley, both of Harrodsburg, Vincent Tatum, Louisville; one brother, Bruce Tatum, Louisville; a daughter-in -law, Paula Thompson Tatum, Harrodsburg.
Services for Mr. Tatum will be held at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, April 25, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Rev. Rob Harbison officiating. Burial will be in Burgin Memorial Gardens.

She was a homemaker, a member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church and the Bethany Sunday School Class for 29 years.

STANLEY MORRISON
Mr. Stanley H. Morrison, 79, of 1531 Warwick Road, died Tuesday, April 23, 1996 at the Ft. Logan Hospital in Stanford.
Born April 14, 1917 in San Francisco, CA, he was the son of the late Willis and Ruth Bennington Morrison.
He was a horse trainer and a movie stunt man specializing in motorcycle and horse stunts. He was the first double for Roy Rogers.
He had served in the U. S. Army during World War II and was a member of the Mercer County Farm Bureau. He was a member of the American Horse Show Association, a member of the American Saddlebred Horse Association and the Hackney Horse and Pony Association. He was also a member of the Screen Actors Guild.
Survivors include: his step mother, Charlotte Morrison, Whittier, CA; his wife, Waynettte Morrison, Harrodsburg; two daughters, Terri Molakides, Woodside, CA and Jamie Papadimos, San Rafael, CA; two brothers Willis Morrison of CA and Jim Morrison, Whittier, CA; one sister, Janie Zabala of Placerville, CA; two granddaughters, Christine Hitchcock and Mara Papadimos.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Marvin Ashford, Willie "Jack Rabbit" Bottoms, George Gwynn, Johnnie Lucas, Robert Tooker and Tassos Papadimos.

JANE SEARS
Dr. Jane B. Sears, 68, widow of Dr. Kenneth L. Sears, died Friday, April 26, 1996, at her residence in Lexington.
Dr. Sears was born in Harrodsburg August 13, 1927, daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. T. Hassell Bowen and grand daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Divine of Mercer County.
She attended the Harrodsburg schools and Margaret Hall School in Versailles.. She graduated from Ward-Belmont Preparatory School, Nashville, TN in 1943; Wellesley College, Wellesley, MA, in 1947; and Harvard Medical School in 1951.
She was an active staff member at Good Samaritan Hospital and a courtesy staff member at Central Baptist, St. Joseph and Humana Hospitals.
She was a member of the Central Christian Church.
Survivors include: a son, Kenneth L. Sears, Jr., MD, and daughter-in-law, Cheryl, Nashville, TN. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Blackwell.
Services were held at the Lexington Cemetery, Monday, April 29, conducted by Dr. T. O. Harrison.

Mrs. Inez Morgan Pitchford, 99, of 616 Scenic Hills, died Thursday, April 25, 1996 at the Kentucky Veteran's Center in Wilmore.
Born March 26, 1897 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Nina Reed Morgan.
She was a registered nurse and a member of Harrodsburg Christian Church. She was a World War I veteran, having served in the nursing corps.
Survivors include: a daughter, Billie Ruth Hendren, Harrodsburg; one son, L. J. "Jack" Pitchford, Louisville; two sisters, Josephine Witherspoon, CA, and Ruth Kyle, Harrodsburg; two grandchildren and one great grandchild.

She was a homemaker and a member of Ellers Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include: three sons, Paul, John Earl and Condit Mink, all of Harrodsburg; three daughters, Patsy Murphy, Lexington, Sue Ensminger, Nicholasville and Mrs. Amos (Margaret Ann) Riggs, Lexington; 15 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.

She was a housewife and member of the Church of God.

Mr. James Harrison "Jack" Sigar, 68, of 425 English Avenue, died Tuesday, April 30, 1996 at his residence.
Born June 2, 1927 in Garrard County, he was the son of the late George Walter and Alice Coffey Sigar.
A member of Centennial Baptist Church and Silver Cord Lodge #23, he was a retired employee of Coleman's Lumber Yard and State Bank and Trust Company.
He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and a graduate of West Side High School.
Survivors include: his wife, Opal Burrus Sigar, Harrodsburg; two sons, Randy Elvin Sigar, Owensboro, James Mason Sigar, Harrodsburg; one sister, Rosa Sigar, Harrodsburg; three grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Parks Funeral Home. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
