Graveside services for Mary Evelyn O’Hara, 90, of Kuttawa were held January 30 at 2:30 p.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Jim Keegan officiated.
Morgan’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. O’Hara died at 3:25 a.m. on January 27 at Caldwell County Hospital, following a short illness.
She was a retired employee of the state and federal government, attended Kuttawa United Methodist Church and and was an active member of the Republican party.
She enjoyed writing and was a regular columnist for the Lyon County Herald Ledger and the Times Leader.
Mrs. O’Hara was preceded in death by her parents, Peter Flora and Sallie Summerlin Flora; her husband, Leonard O’Hara; and one grandson, Brian Pettit.
Her survivors include one daughter, Elaine Pettit of Princeton; three grandchildren, Molly Lewis, George Thomas Pettit and Megan Pettit; and one great granddaughter, Allison Pettit.
Ruth Nall
Services for Ruth Nall, 71, of Kuttawa, were held February 1 at 11 a.m. at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton. The Rev. Jim Keegan officiated and the Rev. Charles Hatfield assisted. Burial followed in Providence Cemetery in Lyon County.
Mrs. Nall died January 28, at 12:44 p.m. at Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield.
She was employed by the hearing office of the Kentucky Department of Transportation, attended Kuttawa United Methodist Church and was a member of the American Legion Post 68 Auxiliary of Kuttawa.
Mrs. Nall was preceded in death by her parents, Harry D. Cook and Lucy Elizabeth Baldwin Cook; one sister and five brothers.
Her survivors include two sisters, Margaret Hooks of Kuttawa and Betty Bridges of Frankfort; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Maxine Elliott, 76
Services for Maxine Elliott, 76, of Bunker Hill, Ill., were conducted on Jan. 27 at 11 a.m. at Landers Funeral Home in Bunker Hill, Ill. Burial was at Bunker Hill City Cemetery. The Rev. LeRoy Fahnestck officiated.
Mrs. Elliott died at 10:40 p.m. on January 23 at Saint Anthony’s Hospital in Alton, Ill.
Survivors are her husband, Richard Elliott; two sons, Rick Elliott and Terry Elliott, both of Bunker Hill,Ill.; one sister, Betty Stone of Eddyville; two brothers, Lynn Forsythe and Nelson Forsythe, both of Cadiz; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Hugh and Katie Harper Forsythe and two sisters.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
Edna Calhoun, 83
Services for Edna Calhoun, 83, of Eddyville were conducted April 19 at Lakeland Funeral Home Chapel in Eddyville. The Rev. C.C. Brasher officiated. Burial was at Rolling Hills Cemetery in Eddyville.
Mrs. Calhoun died April 17 at 2 p.m. at River’s Bend Retirement Center in Kuttawa.
She was a homemaker and a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Lyon County.
Survivors are her husband, Perry Calhoun; two sons, Noland Calhoun of Smithland and Seldon Calhoun of Eddyville; one daughter, Jane Wicks of Butler; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Milburn Duncan and Pearl Hart Duncan; one brother, Freeland Duncan and one sister, Juanita Calhoun.
