Services for Dorothy J. Ramey, 73, of Kuttawa, were conducted April 19 at Dunn’s Funeral Home in Eddyville. Darrell Coleman officiated. Burial was at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Eddyville.
Mrs. Ramey died April 16 at 12:40 p.m. at her home.
She was a Jehovah’s Witness and a member of the Princeton congregation.
Survivors are her husband, A.C. Ramey of Kuttawa; her step-father, Herman Martin of Princeton; three sons, Lloyd Ramey, Tom Ramey and Kent Ramey, all of Kuttawa; five sister, Nellie Merrick and Shirley Coleman, both of Princeton, Lois Kingston of Kuttawa, Sherry Terrell of Eddyville, and Candy Key of Clarksville; three brothers, Pete Terrell of Kuttawa, Ketih Terrell of Iowa, and Sam Terrell of Dawson Springs; two step-brothers, Gwendal Martin of Cadiz and Larry Martin of Princeton; one step-sister, Retta Phelps of Princeton; seven grandchildren five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Tommie B. and Jessie Strickland Martin; one sister, Gladys Hunt and one step-brother, Jimmy Martin.
Gertie Hardwick Smith, 75
Services for Gertie Hardwick-Smith, 75, of Lexington were conducted June 5 at LeCompte-Johnson-Taylor Funeral Home in Frankfort. Hospice chaplin, Jeff Rudd, officiated. Burial was in Frankfort Cemetery.
Mrs. Smith died June 2 at her home in Lexington.
She was employed by the Commonwealth of Kentucky and helped manage the former Sid’s Motel in Kuttawa.
Survivors are her second husband, William E. Smith; her daughter, Jacqueline Suzanne Klee; one stepdaughter, Suzette Smith Sandberg of Sioux City, S.D.; one stepson, Edmund Smith of Hopkinsville; two brothers, Glen Hardwick and Rufus Hardwick, both of Cleveland, Ohio; one nephew, Robert Wilson of Frankfort; one sister, Myrta Dufresne of Kuttawa; two grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband Gordon Fulcher.

Andrea Kay LeFan, 16
Services for Andrea Kay LeFan, 16, of Dycusburg were conducted June 9 at the Lyon County High School Gymnasium. The Revs. Terry Davis and Tim Burden officiated. Burial was at Dycusburg Cemetery in Crittenden County.
Ms. LeFan died at 9:10 p.m. on June 5 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.
She would have been a Senior at Lyon County High School for the 2006-2007 school year. School activities she was involved in were Beta Club, Lyon County Marching Band, Pep Club and the Art Club. She served as a 4-H counselor for two years and attended the Governor’s School for the Arts. Ms. LeFan was a member of Mexico Baptist Church in Crittenden County and attended Hebron Baptist Church in Lyon County.
Survivors are her parents, Dennis LeFan and Jamie Dale King of Dycusburg; one sister, Allison LeFan of Dycusburg; paternal grandmother, Mary LeFan of Crittenden County; maternal grandparents, Jim and Jean King of Homosassa, Fla.; one aunt and three uncles.
Preceding her in death were two brothers, Jamie LeFan Jr., and Dennis LeFan Jr.; her paternal grandfather, Sanders “Cotton” LeFan and two uncles, Cameron King and Stanley LeFan.
Frederick H. Doom, 90
Services for Frederick H. Doom, 90, of Paducah were conducted June 8 at Dunn’s Funeral Home in Eddyville. The Rev. Danny Guess officiated. Burial was at Macedonia Cemetery in Lyon County.
Mr. Doom died June 5 at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.
He was a member of Rosebower Baptist Church, worked for Local No. 816 of Airco Alloys and Carbide of Calvert City, and Laborer’s Int. Union of North America, Local No. 1214.
Survivors are three daughters, Beverly Harrell and Kyle Kohler, both of Benton, and Lucretia Leftwich of Dexter; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Frederick and Margaret Marie Lynn Doom; his wife, Grace Lillian Hyatt Doom; one son, William (Bill) Allen Doom; four sisters, Mabel Southard, Beatrice Doom, Clara Guess and Madie Guess and one grandson, Crandall W. Harrell.
