Services for Anna Marie Yates, 82, of Kuttawa were conducted on February 20 at Lakeland Funeral Home Chapel in Eddyville. Dr. Jerrell White officiated with interment at Chestnut Oak Cemetery in Lyon County.
Anna Marie died on February 19 in Lourdes Hospital in Paducah. She was a homemaker and a former employee of Arvin Industries in Princeton. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Lyon County.
Survivors are one son, Kenneth Yates of Southaven, Mississippi; one daughter, Patsy Weaks of Lyon County; grandson, Steven Weaks of Paducah; one brother, John Yates of Eddyville.
Jerald “Jerry” Winters, 78
Graveside services for Jerald “Jerry” Winters, 78, of Princeton were conducted February 23 with burial at Lance Nichols Cemetery. Tthe Rev. Cliff Jones officiated.
Mr. Winters died February 20 at Western Baptist Hospital following a short illness. He was an Army veteran and was a retired band director for the US Army Military Bands. He was the owner of Key Note Music and a member of First Christian Church and the Elks Lodge.
Preceding him in death were sister, Chloe Ann Hammonds, and his parents, Thomas Winters and Georgia Stallings Winters.
Survivors are his wife, Roberta “Bobbie” Dalzell Winters; two daughters, Linda Suitor of Paducah and Susan Farmer of Salem, Oregon; six grandchildren; sister, Carol Marvell of Charleston, South Carolina.

Rev. Reid Thompson, 85
Services for Rev. Reid Thompson, 85, of Louisville, formerly of Kuttawa, were held February 20 at Middleton United Methodist Church in Louisville. Burial was held February 23 at Kuttawa Cemetery.
Rev. Thompson died Sunday, February 17 at Norton Suburban Hospital in Louisville. He was formerly the pastor of the Kuttawa United Methodist Church in Kuttawa.
He was preceded in death by his son, Samuel D. Thompson.
Survivors are his wife, the former Virginia Ferguson; daughter Joyce Thompson; son Stephen Thompson; sisters Reba Yates and Mildred Abney; brother Daniel Thompson; and three grandchildren.
Mertie Smith
Services for Mertie G. Smith, 86, of Kuttawa, were held on May 1 at 3 p.m. at Lakeland Baptist Temple in Calvert City, with burial in Dooms Chapel Cemetery in Lyon County. Reverend John Terry officiated.
Mrs. Smith died on Sunday, April 28 at 11:10 p.m. at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah after a long illness.
She was a homemaker and a member of Lakeland Baptist Temple in Calvert City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Smith; her parents, Samuel E. Guess and Alva Knight Guess.
She is survived by one son, Thomas L. Smith of Gilbertsville; one daughter, Patricia Yates of Kuttawa; three grandchildren; one-great grandchild; one brother, Calvin Guess of Hopkinsville and Leona Thomas, Kuttawa.
