Kentucky Marriage Records by County

REUBEN EGBERT Jr.

Reuben “Junie” Egbert Jr., 77, of 138 Bondville Road, Salvisa, died Thursday, June 12, 2003 at his residence.

Born October 31, 1925 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Daisy Deana Beckham and Reuben Egbert Sr.

He was a retired farmer and a former ATR Wire and Cable employee. He was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include: his wife, Garnetta Scott Egbert; one son, Michael Scott Egbert; two daughters, Judy Profitt and Deborah (Wathan) Bottom; one brother, Elmer (Tuggle) Egbert; one sister, Virginia Mae Hurst; and three grandchildren, all of Mercer County.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. There was no visitation.

DWIGHT FREEMAN

Dwight Freeman, 81, of Fern Creek, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Tuesday, June 10, 2003, at Norton Hospice in Louisville.

He was a member of the Melbourne Heights Baptist Church, Carpenters Local Union #64 and an army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include: his wife, Maudie Freeman; two daughters, Joyce Freeman Anderson and Doris Freeman; three sisters, Frances Camic, Lillie Mayes and Nellie Bottom; two stepsons, Barry and Larry Combs; one granddaughter and two great-grandchildren and several step grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 14, at Foreman Funeral Home, Jeffersontown. Burial was in Resthaven Memorial Park.

Memorial gifts are suggested to Hospice and Palliative Care of Louisville or his church’s building fund.

RODNEY HARRIS

Rodney Harris, 56, of 1450 Mackville Road, died Saturday, June 14, 2003 at his residence.

Born August 15, 1946 in Nolandsburg, he was the son of the late Joseph Ray and Hannah M. Metcalf Harris.

He was a retired machine operator for Corning Glass, was a member of the Bluegrass Pike Baptist Church, Boyle County, and the Flint Glass Workers Union.

He was an army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of American Legion Post #52.

Survivors include: his wife, Gloria Harris, Harrodsburg; one son, John Calvin Harris, Danville; four brothers, Paul R. Harris, Abington, VA, Joe R. (Betty) Harris, Winchester, Clinton R. (Judy) Harris, and Edgar Roland Harris, both of Harrodsburg; two sisters, Virginia (Arthur) Hibbard, Springfield, OH, and Nawana (Dale) Durham, Harrodsburg; and two granddaughters.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 18, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Tim Russ officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers were David Hibbard, Terry Riley, Mark and Mike Durham, Dwain Harris and Steven DeVary. Honorary bearers were Brian Hibbard, Wesley Phillips, Raymond Isham, Mike Humphrey, Harold Lester, Lynn Logue and Richard Lewis.

Memorials are suggested to the Society for Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (Research), Woodholme Medical Building, Suite 515, 1838 Greene Tree Road, Baltimore, MD 21208.

LIMA HOLDERMAN

Lima Phillips Holderman, 83, of Armory Hill, Springfield, died Wednesday, June 11, 2003 at the Springfield Nursing and Rehab Center.

Born July 6, 1919 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Heanious Earl and Lillian Mae Burns Phillips. She was the widow of Joseph Holderman.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Temple Baptist Church.

Survivors include: one brother, Robert Phillips, Harrodsburg; one grandson, Paul Andrew Holderman, Willisburg; five granddaughters, Betty Coulter, Springfield, Crystal Holderman Hawkins, Willisburg; LuAnne Taylor and Lisa Darland, both of Harrodsburg, Linda Long, Lexington; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: one daughter, Lillian Walton; one son, Joseph Earl Holderman; three brothers, Cecil Phillips, Casper Phillips and Heanious Earl Phillips Jr.; and one sister, Louise Sims.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 14, at the Carey and Son Funeral Home with Rev. John McDaniel officiating. Burial was in Bethlehem Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Bob Walker, Johnny Simpson, Chris Bobblett, Matthew Bobblett, Philip Sparrow and Chad Wagner.

CHARLES MOORE

Charles Leonard Moore, 47, Seaville Road, Harrodsburg, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003 at his residence.

Born January 20, 1956 in Frankfort, he was a son of the late Charles Moore and Benola Richie Moore of Lawrenceburg.

He was a self-employed carpet installer and a member of Glennsborough Baptist Church in Anderson County.

His hobbies included fishing, working on cars and he loved motorcycles.

Survivors in addition to his mother, include: his wife, Carolyn Marie Sutton Moore, Harrodsburg; one son, Dustin Moore, New Haven; two stepsons Travis Robinson, Lawrenceburg and Tim Robinson of Harrodsburg; one daughter, Chasity Lillion, Lexington; one brother, David Moore, Lawrenceburg; two half brothers, Bobby Moore and Cash Ray Moore, both of Mercer County; one sister, Betty Shearers, Versailles; three grandchildren and two step grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 20, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Lester Tirey officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday and after 7:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Moore, Ron Stevens, James Abshear, Bobby Little, James Phillips and Tim Wilson. Honorary bearers will be Troy Moore, Danny Willard and Gary Drury.

KATHLEEN NORMAN

Kathleen McCraw Norman, 84, formerly of Fancy Gap Road, Mount Airy, NC, died Wednesday, June 11, 2003 at Twelve Oaks Retirement Home.

Born July 5, 1918 in Carroll County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Green Walter and Victoria Towe McCraw. She was the widow of John Fred Norman.

She was a homemaker and an active member of Epworth United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: one daughter, Faye (Joe) Ruby, Harrodsburg; three sons, Fred (Brenda) Norman, Cary, NC, Steve Norman, Mount Airy, NC, and Jack (Claudia) Salgado-Norman, Lenoir, NC; Three sisters, Juanita (George) Jones, Mount Airy, NC, Polly (Ray) Dawson, Cana, VA, and June Marion, Winston-Salem, NC; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five sisters, Shirley Huffman, Josephine Stanley, Orine Selby, Guida McGrady, and Hazel McCraw, and one brother, Walter McCraw.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 14, at the Epworth United Methodist Church with Rev. Timothy Moore officiating. Burial was in the Epworth United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Moody Funeral Home, Mount Airy, NC was in charge of arrangements.

KAREN SMITH

Karen Denise Smith, 33, of 3556 Polly’s Bend Road, Lancaster, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Thursday, June 12, 2003 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.

Born October 27, 1969 in Fayette County, she was the daughter of John W. Smith III and the late Alicia Yeast Smith.

She was a former employee of Harrod Cleaners and Harrodsburg Health Care Center.

She was a member of Centennial Baptist Church.

Survivors, in addition to her father, include: two sons, Justin Smith, Harrodsburg, and Aaron Zuniga, Louisa; one daughter, Chanell Vah, Louisa; two brothers, Donald Wayne Smith and Scottie Bottoms, both of Harrodsburg; paternal grandfather, John W. Smith II and Paternal step-grandparents, Rev. Herman and Mary E. Bradshaw, all of Harrodsburg; and a special companion, José Lira, Lancaster. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Leroy and Catherine Yeast.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, June 16, at the Centennial Baptist Church with Elder J. D. Short III officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Robert Bean II, Lee and Lewis Payne, Derrick Penman, Nicholas Short and Craig, Julius, James and Terry Yeast.

Parks Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

ALVIN CRAWLEY Sr.

Alvin L. Crawley Sr., 68, of 445 Harvey Pike, died Tuesday, June 24, 2003 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.

Born February 11, 1935 in Lexington, he was the son of the late Brent and Emma Durbin Crawley.

He was a farmer, member of Mercer County Farm Bureau and was a member of New Providence Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include: his wife, Lorena Peavler Crawley; one daughter, Carolyn (Roger) Long, both of Harrodsburg; four sisters, Nancy Prather and Isabelle Moore, both of Lexington, Brenda (Ronnie) Smith, Lawrenceburg, and Mary Ellen (James) Neal, Harrodsburg; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one step grasndchild and four step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: two sons, Tony and Alvin Crawley; one grandchild, Christopher Crawley; one brother, Manford Crawley; and one sister, Legatha Monroe.

Funeral services were held Friday, June 27 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Jon Jones and John David Lane officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Mike Camic, Joe Adams, Ronnie Smith, Josh Collier, Brent Crawley and Roger Long. Honorary bearers were Jordan and Rachel Long, Chastity and Dawn Crawley, and Linda Baker.

Memorials are suggested to The American Lung Association, 61 Broadway, 6th Floor, New York, NY 10006.

B. V. GABBERT

B. V. Gabbert, 84, Moberly Road, died Thursday, June 26, 2003 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.

Born November 12, 1918 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Ben and Emma Peavler Gabbert.

She was a retired Thrifty sales clerk in Harrodsburg, an active member of Cornishville Christian Church for several years and a graduate of Cornishville High School. Her hobbies included crocheting and quilting.

Survivors include: three nieces, Mary (Tom) Floyd, Deltona, FL, Betty Sherman, Vernon, AL, and Nan (Hale) Pearsey, Rushville, IN; one nephew, Raymond Campbell, Monticello; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. James (Hazel) Gabbert, Rushville, IN and Mrs. Hubert (Aileen) Gabbert, Cornishville. She was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister, one nephew and one niece.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 28, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Leonard Price officiating. Burial was in the Cornishville Christian Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Dennis Coslow Sr., Terry Coslow, Kerry Prather, Travis Adkinson, Archie Britton and Hughes Coslow.

KEITH GOODLETT

Keith Goodlett, 39, Poteet Street, died Tuesday, June 24, 2003 at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.

Born March 14, 1964 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of Clarence and Louise Raley Goodlett Jr.

He was a septic tank cleaner for Goodlett’s Septic Tank Cleaning and an avid Demolition Derby fan. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include: his wife, Jacqueline Sanders Goodlett, Harrodsburg; two daughters, Crimson Raie Mongeau and Crysta Lee Mongeau, both of Harrodsburg; one brother, Stevie Goodlett, Harrodsburg; two sisters, Melissa Goodlett Hartman, Mercer County, and Christy Wohner, Harrodsburg; paternal grandmother, Marie Goodlett, Harrodsburg;.

Funeral services were held Friday, June 27, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. James Harley and Dr. Kenneth Whitehouse officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Bo Goodlett, Troy Moore, Ricky Mobley, Arnold White, Carl Carpenter, Toby Collier, Tony Sandford and Greg Anderson. Crimson Mongeau, Crysta Mongeau, Derek Goodlett, Brandon Hartman, Sarah Wohner, Courtney Wohner and Adam Goodlett were special honorary bearers and Tony Lawson, Mike Baker, Phillip Kirkpatrick, Lynn Logue, Scottie Phillips, Tommy Hurst III and Brad Mobley were honorary bearers.

CAROLYN GRIDER

Carolyn Jean Grider, 68, of 221 Providence Road, died Sunday, June 29, 2003 at Haggin Memorial Hospital.

Born February 3, 1935 in Carlisle, she was the daughter of the late John Talbert and Relma Ritchie Bow.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church.

Survivors include: one daughter, Rhonda Grider, Harrodsburg; three sons, Robin Grider, Danville, Randy Grider, Harrodsburg, and Ryan Grider of Brodhead; two brothers, Gayle Bow, Lexington, and Don Bow, Reed City, MI; two grandchildren and four step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Vernon Bow.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 2, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Mike Hembry officiating. Burial was in Bellevue Cemetery, Danville.

Pallbearers will be sons and nephews.
