Marcella Fuller, 67, Fairview Road, Salvisa, died Tuesday, August 5, 2003 at her residence.
Born December 14, 1935 in Paris she was the daughter of the late Charles and Thelma Earlywine Frederick. She was the widow of Donald Fuller.
She was a retired Modine assembly line operator. After retiring she cleaned homes for several people.
She was a member of Grapevine Christian Church and helped in Bible school for a number of years. She enjoyed cross stitching, antiques and flower gardening.
Survivors include: three daughters, Virginia Darlene Fuller, Salvisa, Arlene Faye Bruner, Centre, AL, and Jullienne K. Readnour, Duncan; one son, Larry Dean Fuller, Burgin; three brothers, James C. Frederick, Lexington, Ronald Dean Frederick, Raleigh, NC and Larry Wayne Frederick, Louisville; three sisters, Patricia Ann Crumb, Dayton, OH, Debbie Dines, Greenville, OH, and Kay Horseman, Lawrenceburg; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Wesley Davis Fuller.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 7, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Claude Waldridge officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Eric Bruner, Aaron Bruner, Jeremy Fuller, Cody Fuller, Brandon Horseman and Tim Readnour.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 7:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
LESLIE PEARSON
Leslie G. Pearson, 84, of Moberly, MO, died Tuesday, July 29, 2003 at Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia, MO.
Born December 9, 1918 in Washington County, he was a son of the late John and Ada Durr Pearson.
He was a veteran of WW II, having served in the army in the Philippines and Japan. He had also served in the National Guard in Harrodsburg. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans of America.
He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include: his wife, Juanita Blacketer Pearson, Moberly, MO; four sons, Bill (Patsy) Pearson, Moberly, MO; Kenneth (Bridgette) Pearson, St. Roberts, MO; Gary Pearson, Keith (Vickie) Pearson, all of Moberly; one daughter Patricia (Gary) Dailey, Moberly; One sister, Frances (Jesse) Schupback, Hannibal, MO; two brothers, Roy (Mildred) Pearson, Moberly, Guy (Frances) Pearson, Hannibal; sisters-in-law, Laverne (Larry) Lee, MI, Lavone (Marion) Kays, OH, Lucille (Bill) Burke, KY, Norene (Bob) Bruech, FL, Mary Rose Blacketer, KY, Rachel Blacketer, CA and Evelyn Pearson, Moberly; brothers-in-law, Marvin (Angela) Blacketer, IN, Carl (Nancy) Blacketer, IN; Charles (Marie) Blacketer, Lawrenceburg, Joe Blacketer and Paul (Peggy) Blacketer, both of Harrodsburg; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant son, one sister, Edna Jackson, and one brother, Ray Pearson.
Funeral services were held Friday, August 1, at Cater Funeral Home Chapel in Moberly with Rev. Tom Downey officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Moberly.
WILLIAM ALLENDER
William Robert Allender, 79, of 319 Albright Drive, Loveland, OH, died Saturday, August 9, 2003 at the Bethesda Hospital in Cincinnati, OH.
Born June 9, 1924 in Lexington, he was the son of the late John and Amanda Eldridge Allender.
He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II, a retired truck driver employed by the Cincinnati Gas and Electric Company, and was a member of the Masonic lodge.
Survivors include: his wife, Beatrice Eloise Wright Allender, Loveland, OH; two daughters, Nancy Diane (Dave) Dinsmore, and Rita Beatrice (Mike) Collini, both of Cincinnati, OH; one sister, Sarah Brown, Harrodsburg; three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 12, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Rev. Don Chase officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
ETHEL BRADSHAW
Ethel M. Doneghy Bradshaw, 83, of 232 North Magnolia Street, died Monday, August 11, 2003 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born November 8, 1919 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Monroe and Carneleus Kemper Doneghy. She was the widow of Abraham Jacob (A. J.) Bradshaw.
She was retired from Corning Glass, a member of the Order of Eastern Star and a member of Centennial Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one son, James (Rose) Bryant, Harrodsburg; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest and Richard Doneghy.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 16, at the Centennial Baptist Church with Elder J. D. Short III officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday and after 8:00 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Pallbearers will be John Bryant Sr., Fred Bottoms, James Coffee, George Hudson, Alvis Johnson and James Browning. Honorary bearers will be James Williams, Calvin Bedinger, June Christy and James Robert Payne.

ELAINE BROWN
Elaine Frances Brown, 53, of 521 Henrico Road, died Sunday, August 10, 2003 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born August 17, 1949 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of Dessie Vandyke Brown and the late George Thomas Brown.
She was a 1967 graduate of Harrodsburg High School, an office manager for Joy Temporary Services of Harrodsburg, and a former employee of Corning Glass Works of Harrodsburg.
She was a member of Centennial Baptist Church.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include: one daughter, Kim (Marcus) Hawkins, Danville; one sister, Vanessa Stokes, Harrodsburg; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 13, at the Centennial Baptist Church by Elder J. D. Short III. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Otis W. Ford, Carl Bartleson, Larry Gayton, Gus Parks, Chester Grundy and Sam Bess.
Parks Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
LILLIE GRITTON
Lillie Mae Cornish Gritton, 81, of 327 North Greenville Street, died Sunday, August 10, 2003 at her residence.
Born January 13, 1922 in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Goodloe and Celestus Colvin Cornish. She was the widow of Thurman B. Gritton.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Jim (Freeda) Moore of Loveland, OH.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 13, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Rev. John Cato officiating. Burial was in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
TOMMY HORTON
Tommy Horton, age 64, Benton Street, Burgin, died Monday, August 11, 2003 at his residence.
Born February 6, 1939 in High Bridge he was the son of the late Elbert "Sprout" and Mary Johnson Horton.
He was a butcher and cook. He retired from C. & T. Food Market in Harrodsburg and was a former employee of Bennett’s in Burgin. He was a member of Shakertown Baptist Church, enjoyed cooking and was an avid country music fan.
Survivors include: his wife, Bettye Jackson Horton, Burgin; five daughters: Tammy (Mike) Adams, Danville, Kathy (Billy) Russell, Burgin, Kim Dossett of Garrard County, Joy (Jeff) Snow, Junction City, and Teresa Dossett, Springfield; three brothers: Ronnie Horton of Monticello, Billy Horton of High Bridge and Bobby Horton of Jessamine County; four sisters Hallie Fox, Minnie Jo Whitaker and Marietta Houp all of Jessamine County, Joyce Abrams, Jackson County; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Sue Yocum, and two brothers, Willard Horton and Eldon Horton.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 14, 2003 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Smith officiating. Burial will be in Shawnee Run Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Louis Shelton, Jeff Snow, Mike Adams, Chris Adams, Lee Horner and Dean Todd.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 7:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
LUCILLE HOWARD
Lucille B. Howard, 91, died Saturday, August 9, 2003 at The Richwood in LaGrange.
Born September 15, 1911 in Marion County, she was a daughter of the late Joe and Mary Whitehouse Berry.
She was a retired machine operator for Broadway Rubber Company and a member of Clifton Baptist Church in Louisville.
Survivors include: two nieces, Betty Bruner, Crestwood, and Jo Ann King, Shelbyville. She was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Berry.
Funeral services were held Monday, August 11, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. James Harley officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Kenneth King Sr., Kenneth King Jr., Sherman King, David Watts and Tracy Witt.
CHARLES PHILLIPS
Charles Kevin Phillips, 31, of Embassy Drive, Lexington, died Sunday, August 10th, 2003, at his residence.
Born June 8, 1972 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of Charles Hayden and Trudy Reed Cavins, both of Lexington. He was a heating and air conditioning technician and member of the Baptist church.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include: one son: Charles Cameron Blaine Phillips, Columbus, OH; one sister: Michelle (Chris) Ferguson, Lexington; two brothers, Chris Phillips and John Cavins, Jr., both of Lexington; maternal grandmother, Genavie Reed and paternal grandmother, Alma Wilham, both of Harrodsburg.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 14, in the Spring Hill Cemetery with Rev. Jerri Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Ransdell Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
OSCAR SHEARER
Oscar Shearer, 85, Taylor Road, Danville, formerly of Lancaster, died Monday, August 11, 2003 at his residence.
Born September 23, 1917 in Garrard County, he was the son of the late Clarence and Jessie Harp Shearer.
He was a retired mechanic of Lancaster Motor Company and attended the Forks of Dix River Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Sarah Long Shearer, Danville; three sons, Kennith Shearer, Stanford, Jeff Shearer, Lancaster, and Joe Shearer, Danville; four daughters, Betty Williams, Mercer County, Martha Lane, Spencer, IA, Mollie Lane, and Suetta Ledford, both of Lancaster; one brother, Carl Shearer, Garrard County; one sister, Jean Hedges, Flemingsburg; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 14, 2003 at the Ramsey Funeral Home, Lancaster, with Rev. Paul Brasseaux officiating. Burial will be in the Lancaster Cemetery.
