Mary Margaret Boswell, 80, of Carey Lane, Washington County, died Monday December 15, 2003 at her residence.
Born March 29, 1923 in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late John and Lou Ada Dye Sherrow. She was the widow of Jake Boswell.
She was a member of the Cornishville Baptist Church, a homemaker and she enjoyed quilting, canning, and cooking.
Survivors include: three sons: Johnny Boswell and Willie Boswell, both of Mackville, and Noble Boswell, McAfee; five daughters, Marie Reynolds, Carolyn Buck, and Mary Lou Henry, all of Mercer County, Sue Shearer, Mackville, and Cleta Boswell, Bartleville, OK; 20 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons Jacob Elwood Boswell and Walter "Tommy" Edwin Boswell.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 18, at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Readnour officiating. Burial will be in Battle Cemetery, Washington County.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandchildren will serve as honorary bearers.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. To 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 7:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
CHRISTOPHER HUNTER
Christopher Jon Hunter, 43, 2347 Cornishville Road, died Thursday, December 10, 2003 in Versailles.
Born March 13, 1960 in Louisville, he was the son of Donald and Patricia Wadsworth Hunter, Somerset.
He was a 1978 graduate of Pulaski County High School in Somerset and also a graduate of the Somerset Technical College with a degree in Aircraft Maintenance. He was a 16 year employee of Com-Air at Bluegrass Airport in Lexington, a member of the First Assembly of God, Falmouth, and attended the Family Worship Center in, Harrodsburg.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include: his wife, Joanne R. Hunter, Harrodsburg; two sons, Michael Gene and Christopher Noble Hunter, Harrodsburg; two daughters, Trisha Lynn Hunter, Harrodsburg and Sarah Marie Hunter, Somerset; one brother, Patrick Hunter, Somerset; one sister, Cindy (James) Hatcher, Somerset.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 13, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Darrell Breeden and Jeremy Adkins. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Raymond Patton, Willie Hislope, Mickey Boardman, Albert Hatcher, Terry Underwood, Tim Noble, Brian Heist, and Gary Lamendola.
GLADYS PERKINS
Gladys Wiley Perkins, 94, of Buntain School Road, Lawrenceburg, died Wednesday, December 10, 2003 at Heritage Hall Care Center in Lawrenceburg.
Born September 18, 1909 in Woodford County, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary Hannah Jenkins Wiley. She was the widow of Dewey L. Perkins
She was a retired employee of Kentucky Overall Service in Lawrenceburg after 17 years of service; the oldest active member of the Fox Creek Christian Church and Senior Sunday School Class; Huntsman Club and Kentucky Travelers Club; and a graduate of Bridgeport High School.
Survivors include: six daughters, Betty Jean (James) Brewer, Frankfort, Ruby (Bobby) Stine, Sharpsville, Ann (Kenneth) Carter, Frances Aline Woodard, and Joan (James) Cook, all of Lawrenceburg, and Connie (Bobby) Shelton, Mt. Washington; two sons, Dewey Lee (Linda) Perkins, Frankfort, Jerry Alan (Shirley) Perkins, Lawrenceburg; 18 grandchildren, three step grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, five step great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, David Perkins, a sister, Ida B. Wiley, and a brother, Roy Wiley.
Funeral services were held Sunday, December 14, at Gash Memorial Chapel, Lawrenceburg, with Bro. Don Wells officiating. Burial was in Versailles Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Lee Perkins, Jason Perkins, Jeffrey Perkins, Christopher Perkins, David Allen Perkins, Danny Carter, Timothy Brewer, Jonathan Brewer, and Michael Cook. Honorary Bearers were granddaughters.

WILLIAM SALLEE
William Keith Sallee, age 42, 520 Ada Drive, Harrodsburg, died Saturday, December 13, 2003 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born September 19, 1961 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of Wanda Jean Sanders Sallee Smith, Harrodsburg and the late Herbert Sallee.
He was a self-employed painting contractor and a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include: his wife, Frances Darlene Summers Sallee; one sister, Sherri L. Spain; his maternal grandmother, Onita Sanders; and one uncle, Terry Mitchell Sanders, all of Harrodsburg.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 16, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Bro. James Harley. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Troy Young, Tony Bast, James Raley, John Hawes, C. W. Grider, Mark and Stacy Osbourn and Charles "Birdie" Bugg.

MILITARY RITES
Douglas Laws Post #52, American Legion, Post #6935, VFW and DAV Post #54 conducted Military Rites for William C. Darland at Spring Hill Cemetery on December 11, 2003.
Those attending were Joe Harlow, Curtis Sherrow, Marion Mershon, Lucian Landers, Preston Burgin, Gary Winfield, DeWitt Sims and Howard H. Howells.
Zenah Teater III served as bugler.
Representatives from the US Army were SSG Willie Fortson and SGT Jerome Maynard.
MARGARET BELCHER
Margaret Belcher, 44, of Linietta Drive, Junction City, died Friday, December 19, 2003 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born December 14, 1959 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of Faye Wray White of Harrodsburg and the late Herbert White.
She was a Baptist, a babysitter, and collected bears, porcelain dolls, and lava lamps.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include: one daughter Margo Hartman, Stanford; one son, Anthony Oden Belcher, Junction City; three brothers, Herbert White Jr., Parksville, Billy White, Jacksonville, FL and Arnold White, Harrodsburg; four sisters, Linda Murphy and Sandra White, both of Harrodsburg, Rita Langford, Junction City and Patricia Hartman, Casey County; three granddaughters; and her boyfriend, Lloyd Harris, Junction City. One brother Richard Thomas White preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Monday, December 22, at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Tim Russ officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Joey White, Chris Stratton, Marshall Douglas, Tina King, Roger Harris, and Bryan West. Honorary bearers were Daniel Langford, Jr. and Lloyd Harris.

STELLA BROWN
Stella V. Brown, 96, 429 West Lexington Street, died Friday, December 19, 2003 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital - Extended Care Center.
Born September 23, 1907 in Mayo, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Mary Meaux VanDyke. She was the widow of Alamandus “Bud” Brown.
She was a retired homemaker, member of First Baptist Church where she served on the usher board. She was head usher for several years, served as member and president of the Improvement Club, was a member of the Kitchen Club and was a Kentucky Colonel.
Survivors include: one daughter, Frances Short, Harrodsburg; two grandchildren, Chris Short and Lolita Short, both of Harrodsburg.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 23, at First Baptist Church by Elder J. D. Short III and Brother Virgil Hill. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Leon VanDyke Jr., George Childs Jr., Curry Taylor, Sam Wheat, Tony Young, and William Thompson. Honorary bearers were Kenneth and Scott Jones, James Thurman, Fred Bottoms, Keith Walker, Gary Walker, John Smith III, Paul Parks, and Phillip VanDyke.

CONNIE CARROLL
Connie Carroll, 69, 597 Ashwood Court, Harrodsburg, died Monday, December 22, 2003 at her residence.
Born September 16, 1934 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late John Buford and Margaret Francis Terhune Parsons.
She was a retired employee of Cricketeer Manufacturing Corporation.
Survivors include: her husband, B. D. Carroll, Harrodsburg; one daughter, Linda Lankford Pike, Harrodsburg and a number of aunts including Elizabeth Bonta, Springfield.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 24, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Bobby Becknell. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Carlos Carroll, Jeff Baer, Ricky Conder, Chris Forte, Rick Muse, and John Sparrow.
FRED KURTZ
Fred Thomas Kurtz, 82, of Chattahoochee, FL, died Sunday, December 14, 2003 at his residence.
He was a native of Danville.
He was a retired acoustical engineer and US Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include: his wife, Nadine Morrell Kurtz, Chattahoochee, FL; one daughter, Terri Sears, Jacksonville, FL; one stepdaughter, Tammy Alongis, Sneads, FL; two sons, Tony Kurtz, Lake City, FL and Mark Kurtz, Melbourne, FL; two stepsons, Gerald Morrell, Chattahoochee, FL, and David Morrell, Atlanta, GA; eight sisters, Vera Patterson, Harrodsburg; Alice Stocker, Danville, Edith Pearl Matthews and Juanita Wright, both of Louisville, Ida Hurt, Mary Underwood and Norma DeVore, all of Lancaster, and Betty Wooldridge, Stanford; two brothers, Clell Kurtz, Greenwood, IN, and Harold Kurtz, Lancaster; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Friday, December 19, at Sea Pines Cemetery in Edgewater, FL.

Margaret P. Lester, 81 of 531 Moreland Avenue, Harrodsburg, died Saturday December 20, 2003 at Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Minnie Peavler. She was the widow of Merrill D. Lester.
She was a retired seamstress for Cricketeer Manufacturing Company, and was a member of Bruner's Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one daughter: Joyce (C. B.) Lester Delabar, Lexington; five grandchildren: Robin Mishele Lewis; Gregory W. Curtis; Carol M. Delabar; Gregory M. Delabar; Steven E. Delabar; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, December 22, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Bro. Greg Humpert officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
