Mary Rose Bugg, 76, Harrodsburg Health Care Center, widow of Marcus Bugg, died Wednesday, June 23, 2004 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Jan. 22, 1928 in Jessamine County, she was the daughter of the late William and Ruth Dean Henniger.
She was a retired glass inspector for Corning, Inc. of Harrodsburg.
Survivors include: one son, Bronston Holt of Harrodsburg.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Carolyn Ragel.
Private services were conducted with Ken Calia officiating. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by the Ransdell Funeral Chapel.
WENDELL FRANCIS
Wendell “Rickey” Francis, 56, West Office Street, husband of Susan Gullett Francis, died Sunday, June 27, 2004 at his residence.
Born Dec. 2, 1947 in Magoffin County, he was a son of the late Junior Brown and Jewell Francis and stepson of Herman Francis and the late Virgie Francis.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: one daughter, Krystal Francis of Harrodsburg; five sisters, Brenda Daniels of Paintsville, Linda Brown and Donna Dees of Mt. Vernon, Mary Anne Williams of Gainesville, FL, and Carol Bowman of Berea; three brothers, William Francis of Salyersville, David Brown of Dayton, OH, and Darrell Brown of Chillicothe, OH, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Welch.
The funeral was held Wednesday, June 30 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Jack Guerin officiating. Burial was in Shawnee Run Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Johnny Brim, Darold Coffman, Phillip Francis, Darrin Smith, Ralph McFerron and Thomas Merideth.
Honorary bearers were Hubert Hall, Jerry and Donnie Gullett, Arnold Jay Reed, Jeffrey Bradshaw and Glen, Robert and Herman Francis.
CLETUS RILEY SR.
Cletus Ray Riley Sr., 56, Dugansville Road, Salvisa, husband of Geneva Masters Riley, died Thursday, June 24, 2004 at his residence after an illness.
Born Dec. 2, 1947 in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Denzil and Gladys Yocum Riley.
He was an employee of IBM/Lexmark for 27 years. He was a member of Ballard Baptist Church.
Survivors include: four daughters, Brenda (Russell) Foley, Debbie (Dwight) Fannin, Ramona Pittman, and Pamela (Richard) Eversole, all of Lawrenceburg; two sons, Cletus (Joy) Riley Jr. of Lawrenceburg, and Jimmy (Brenda) Pittman of Greenwood, IN; one sister, Nellie Drury of Lawrenceburg; one brother, Darrell Riley of Hazard; 23 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Kay Riley; one granddaughter, Nikki Whitney, and two great -grandchildren, Isabella N. Hawkins, and Donovan Fox.
The funeral was held Sunday, June 27 at Gash Memorial Chapel with Bro. Jeff Eaton officiating. Burial was in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
Pallbearers were George Suter, Brad Hall, Marty Peach, Ronnie Jewell, Rex Riley and Randy Estes.
Honorary bearers were Beverly and Jamie Hatfield.
DONALD ROSEMAN
Donald R. Roseman, 72, Burgin, husband of Roberta Jackson Roseman, died Monday, June 28, 2004.
Born Sept. 12, 1931 in Springfield, MO, he was the son of the late Ralph T. and Elsie Bunnell Roseman.
He was a retired engineer for GTE.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: three sons, Michael Roseman of Galetta, CA, Ralph Roseman of Burgin, and Randy Roseman of Lexington; three granddaughters, and three grandsons.
A memorial service will be held Friday, July 9 at 6:30 p.m. at Burgin Christian Church with Jeanette Lucas officiating. Interment will be in CA.
Local arrangements were handled by Whitehall Funeral Home in Lexington.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mercer County Public Library in his name.
EMMA VAN
Emma Jean Crockett Van, 88, W. Broadway, Danville, widow of Clarence Elmer Van, died Sunday, June 27, 2004 at Royal Manor Nursing Home in Nicholasville.
Born July 3, 1915 in North East, OK, she was a daughter of the late Tom and Minnie Bowden Crockett.
She was a registered nurse and attended nursing school in Joplin, MO. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Miami, OK.
Survivors include: one son, Samuel David (Penny) Van of Harrodsburg; two sisters, Marjorie Roberts of Miami, OK and Pat Norris of Fairland, OK; one brother, Paul Crockett of Miami, OK; two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held Tuesday, June 29 at Danville Memorial Gardens.
Local arrangements were handled by Stith Funeral Home in Danville.
The family requests memorials be made to Alzheimer's Association, Lexington Bluegrass Chapter, 836 Euclid Ave., Lexington, KY 40502.
JACKIE WEST
Jackie West, 62, Amelia, OH, formerly of Danville, husband of Belle West, died Saturday, June 26, 2004.
Born May 10, 1942 in Danville, he was a son of the late Lucion West and Ruth Henry West.
He was a retired electrician.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: two sons, Jack West II of Bethel, OH and Glenn West of Danville; three daughters, Donna Lindsey of Batavia, OH, Rhonda Edgell of New Richmond, OH and Kay West of Bethel, OH; one brother, Robert West of Harrodsburg; three sisters, Betty Braun of Pittsburgh, PA, Alice (Joe) White of Harrodsburg and Janice Sargent of Danville; 10 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, William Thomas West.
The funeral was held Wednesday, June 29 at Nurre Funeral Home in Amelia, OH. Burial was in Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Amelia.
JACQUELINE PARR
Jacqueline Parr, 72, of Providence Rd., widow of Bobby Lee Elliott and Edward C. Parr, died Sunday, July 4, 2004 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born October 4, 1931 in Louisville, she was the daughter of the late Robert L. and Beulah (Patterson) Horn. She was a former employee in the finishing department at Florida Tile in Lawrenceburg.
Survivors include: one daughter, Lisa E. Bradley, Lawrenceburg; two sons, Bobby Lee Elliott, Jr. and John David Elliott both of Harrodsburg; two sisters, Mary Merz of San Antonio, TX, and Charles Anna Johnson of Rogersville, TN; one brother, Lance Deschel, Louisville; seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Kenny Bob Horn.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Wednesday, July 7, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Rev. Kenneth Whitehouse. Burial will be in the Springhill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Randy Horn, Tim Horn, Eddie Horn, Keith Horn, Gary Dreschel, and Eddie Parr. Honorary bearers will be David Lunsford, Gilbert J. Stratton, Charles Robinson, Harvey Anderson.
Visitation will be after 5:00 pm Tuesday and after 7:30 am Wednesday at the chapel.
CLYDE THARP
Clyde Tharp, 62, of Louisville Road, Harrodsburg, husband of Judy Ellis Tharp, died Saturday, July 3, 2004 at his residence.
Born May 4, 1942 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Brack and Miley Walters Tharp.
He was retired, having worked at HallMack for Nineteen Years and Trim Masters for Fourteen Years. He was a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and going to yard sales and auctions.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: four sons, Kevin Tharp of Danville, Clyde Tharp, II of Burgin, Chris T. Tharp of Harrodsburg, and Jim Bob Davis of Harrodsburg; four daughters, Pamela Spain, Tammy Harris and Rita Phillips, all of Harrodsburg, and April Cunningham of Liberty; one brother, Dudley Tharp of Avon Park, FL; and three sisters: Mary Elizabeth Tharp of Harrodsburg, Velma Sanders and Lois Ann Taylor, both of Danville; 17 grandchildren, one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2004 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Terry Coslow, Johnny Allen, Wayne Russell, Clarence Phillips, Rick Spain, and Jim Bob Davis. Honorary bearers will be Ed King, Bob Wise, Phillip Taylor, James Ellis, Charles Davis, Scott Cunningham, and grandsons.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday and after 7:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

SHERMAN CAMDEN
Sherman Camden, 73, of Danville, husband of Diane Hayslett Camden, died June 30, 2004 at his residence.
He was the son of the late Brack and Rheda Peavler Camden.
He was a member of the Salt River Baptist Church, A U.S. Army Veteran, and a member of the Harvey Maguire Lodge # 209. He was retired from Northpoint Training Center, a former Burgin Police Chief, a former Perryville Police Chief, and a former Boyle County Jailer.
Survivors in addition to his wife, include: one son, Sherman Camden II; and one sister, Hazel Ruth Doty. He was preceded in death by a brother, Vernon Camden and an infant daughter, Jennifer.
Visitation will be Friday, July 2, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm with Masonic Rites at 8:00 pm.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:00 pm at the funeral home by Bro. Bob Bausum. Burial will be at the Burgin Memorial Gardens with military rites.
Pallbearers will be Terry Camden, Tommy Camden, Brack Camden, Terry Camden, Jr., Chris Camden, Daniel Camden, Eric Bast, F. . Ritchey, and Crystal Camden.
