Emilie Karol Hester, 22, Redwood Dr., Stanford, died Saturday, July 10, 2004 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
Born Sept. 13, 1981 in Boyle County, she was the daughter of Beulah Carr Hester and the late Donald Keith Hester.
She was a customer service representative at Ump-Attire in Stanford. She was a 2000 graduate of Lincoln County High School, former member of the Lincoln County girls softball team and Lincoln County High School girls golf team. She was a former member of the Lincoln County chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She was a member of the Methodist church.
In addition to her mother, survivors include: one brother, Donald Keith (Donnie) Hester II; one sister, Tamara Lyn (Tami) Releford, and two nieces, Cheyenne and Haleigh Releford, all of Stanford.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Matt and Bernice Carr and her paternal grandparents, T J. and Lucille Starnes Hester.
The funeral was held Wednesday, July 14 at New Beginnings United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Vickers officiating. Burial was at Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Darrell, Jeff, James Zack and Rodney Hester, Glenn Hester Jr. and Terry and Keith Currens.
Arrangements were handled by Fox Funeral Home in Stanford.

RALPH JENKINS
Ralph Gilbert Jenkins, 72, Cincinnati, OH, husband of Edna Jenkins, died Monday, July 12, 2004 in Cincinnati.
Born May 21, 1932 in Burgin, he was the son of the late Otho Jenkins and Bessie Carr Jenkins.
He was retired after 30 years of employment at the Ford plant in Sharonville, OH. He was a Korean War veteran. He was a member of the Methodist church.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: one son, Cleatus Jenkins; one daughter, Marsha Muse, and one stepdaughter, Debbie Hanrahan, all of Cincinnati; two sisters, Louise Hicks of Hustonville and Christine Isham of Bowling Green; seven grandchildren; one stepgrandchild, and three great-grandchildren, all of Cincinnati.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Leroy Jenkins.
Graveside services will be today, Thursday, July 15 at 11 a.m. at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Cincinnati. A memorial service will be held later in Marengo, IN.
PAULINE McGINNIS
Pauline Margaret McGinnis, 87, 408 Mooreland Ave., widow of Daniel Harrison McGinnis, died Friday, July 9, 2004 at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born July 15, 1916 in Greensburg, she was the daughter of the late Earnest and Lula (Bagby) Judd.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include: one daughter, Elizabeth M. VanArsdall of Burgin; two sisters, Aileen Lucas and Lucille Peach, both of Louisville; four brothers, Howard and Edward Judd, both of Greensburg, James Judd of Sandwich, IL, and Robert Judd of Marengo, IN; two grandsons, Troy (Kelly) and Eric McGinnis, both of Harrodsburg; one granddaughter, Kelly (Rich) Pictor, and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Charles H. McGinnis, and two brothers, Taylor and Ray Judd.
The funeral was held Monday, July 12 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Rev. James Byrd and Alma Catlett officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Troy and Eric McGinnis, Rich Pictor, Wayne Russell, Billy Humphrey and Ray Lathrem.

VINCENT RILEY
Vincent Byron Riley, 35, Cole Lane, husband of Devauna Prather Riley, died Tuesday, July 13, 2004.
Born Feb. 7, 1969 in Louisville, he was the son of Onderia Lynette Ripley Riley of Nicholasville and the late James Byron Riley.
He had been a printing pressman at Southland Printing in Lexington and was presently a self-employed small home repairman. He was an active member of the New Hope Baptist Church. He was also assistant troop leader of Boy Scout Troop 68. He enjoyed camping, traveling, and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: two sons, Chase Byron and Devon Merrick Riley, both of Mercer County; one sister, Lea Lynette (Dave) Klovski of Jackson, MI; maternal grandmother, Mildred Ripley of Lawrenceburg, paternal grandparents Hazel and Tommy Vinning of Lawrenceburg; one niece, Samantha Klovski of Jackson, Mi and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The funeral will be Friday, July 16 at 1 pm. at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Milburn and Rev. Ray Coats officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mark Ripley, Scott Brown, Jamie Broce, Tony Thompson, Dave Klovski and Doug Eades.
Honorary bearers will be members of Boy Scout Troop 68.
Visitation Thursday from 5 until 9 p.m. and Friday after 7 a.m. at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home.

Mercer Man Dies In Truck Accident
A Mercer County man, Vincent B. Riley, 35, of 1125 Cole Lane was fatally injured in a truck accident at 11:50 a.m. Tuesday on Cole Lane.
The Mercer EMS transferred Riley and three children who were passengers in his truck from the accident scene to The James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Riley was pronounced dead at 1:20 p.m. Mercer County Coroner Sonny Ransdell ruled the cause of death as blunt force trauma to the chest.
The children, Chase and Devan Riley and Jason Thompson, received minor injuries according to a report filed by Kentucky State Trooper Troy Trayner. They were treated at Haggin and released.
Riley was not wearing a seat belt. The children were wearing seat belts according to a relative of Thompson. She said one youth was riding in the front seat of the truck and two were in the back seat. They went to a nearby home to call 911.
Trayner reported Riley was traveling north when he lost control of his truck, ran off the left shoulder of the roadway, then overcorrected, crossing the roadway, leaving the right shoulder of the road and striking a tree head-on. There was severe damage to the front of the truck.
Riley was the husband of DeVauna Riley and father of Chase and Devan Riley.

American Legion Post #52, Disabled American Veterans Chapter #54, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #6935 conducted Military Rites for Sherman Camden at Burgin Memorial Gardens cemetery on Saturday, July 3, 2004.
Those attending were: Howard H. Howells, Joe Harlow, Curtis Sherrow, Tom Rappleye, Tommy Denny, Floyd Shirley, Preston Burgin, and James Tewmey.
Bugler was Jerry Freeman and Army representatives were SSG William Cobb and Sgt. Keith Weyer.
ETHIA BUSSELL
Ethia Jane Shewmaker Bussell, 77, Danville, formerly of Harrodsburg, widow of Paul C. Bussell, died Thursday, July 15, 2004 at her home.
Born Feb. 12, 1927 in Mercer County, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Effie Yeast Shewmaker.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one daughter, Delores Jane (Tom) Moore of Danville; three sisters, Elva Oldham and Rosella Lawson, both of Harrodsburg, and Marcella Burns of Lexington; two granchildren, Dr. Paul Moore of Kingsport, TN. and Joanna Siders of Aiken, S.C.; five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Merlin (Bud) Shewmaker.
The funeral was held Tuesday, July 20 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Chaplain Gary Story officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Robert Pike, Cecil Hutchinson, Cordell Brown, Roy Lynn and Travis Oldham and W.A. Miller.

ARNOLD CAMPBELL SR.
Arnold Campbell Sr., 69, 1113 Linden St., Richmond, formerly of Versailles and Mercer County, widower of Peggy Ann Bruner Campbell, died Thursday, July 15, 2004 at Central Baptist Hospital.
Born Nov. 14, 1934 in Whitley County, he was a son of the late Bill Floyd and Carrie Perkins Campbell.
He had retired as a construction worker and as a farm worker.
Survivors include: one daughter, Tina (Damon) Thomas of Richmond; one son, Arnold Jr. (Pat) Campbell of Versailles; three brothers, Arliss Campbell of Williamsburg, Leo Campbell of Salvisa and Gorman Campbell of Harrodsburg, and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Robin Campbell Jones.
The funeral was held Monday, July 19 at Blackburn and Ward Funeral Home in Versailles. Burial was in Versailles Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Denver Rearick, Audie Thomas, Eugene Land and Steven and Matthew Jones.
KEITH CASEY
Keith Casey, 53, 216 Mercer Avenue, husband of Loretta Devine Casey, died Thursday, July 15, 2004 as a result of injuries sustained in a skid-loader accident.
Born Aug. 2, 1950 in Versailles, he was the son of Catherine Proctor Casey of Anderson County and the late Ronald Casey.
He was a shipping supervisor at Bay West Paper Co. in Harrodsburg. He was a retired staff analyst for IBM, Inc. after 23 years of service. He was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: one son, Paul Casey of Mercer County; two brothers, Ronald Eugene Casey of Lawrenceburg and Leroy Casey of Longmont, CO; two sisters, Drucilla Gritton of Lawrenceburg and Debra Byrd of Alpharetta, GA, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was conducted Sunday, July 18 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Harold Best and Randy McPheron officiating. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Wes Huffman, Donald Devine, Larry Catlett, Bobby Royalty, Elmer Presley and Joe Burton.
SYLVESTER FISTER JR.
Sylvester Francis “Buddy” Fister Jr., 64, Cynthiana, formerly of Paris, died Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at the Harrison Memorial Hospital.
Born May 21, 1940 in Fayette County, he was the son of Mary Elizabeth Scanlon Fister, formerly of Paris, and the late Sylvester Francis Fister Sr.
He was a retired U.S. Postal Service employee. He was a graduate of Bourbon County High School and attended the University of Kentucky. He was an avid blacksmith. He was a member of the Catholic Church of the Annunciation.
Survivors include: four sons, Jason Fister and Sylvester F. “Frank” (Becky) Fister III, both of Lexington, Alan S. Fister of Orlando, FL, and Aaron (Becky) Fister of St. Cloud, MN; one brother, William D. (Shirley) Fister of Harrodsburg; two sisters, Judith Fister (David) Nehls of Carlisle and Libby (Bob) Duffy of Paris; special friend, Kathy Johnson of Harrison County, and several grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be conducted Saturday, July 24 at 10 a.m. at the Catholic Church of the Annunciation with Fr. Joseph N. Muench officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Lexington.
Pallbearers will be Rob and Michael Duffy, Sha and Joe Fister, Sean Pigman and Mike Miller.
Honorary bearers will be Dennis Sutton, Floyd McDaniel, Larry England, Tommy Burberry, Jerry Keller, Edwin Woods and Henry Coons.
Visitation Friday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home in Paris.
