Ronald Lee Fredrick, 55, Tucson, AZ, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Friday, July 9, 2004 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Tucson.
Born Dec. 24, 1948 in Lexington, he was a son of the late William Thomas Fredrick and Lucy Gay Stone Francis.
He was a self-employed laborer.
Survivors include: his step-father, Cecil Francis of Salvisa; two daughters, Sara Jo and Jordan Katie Fredrick, both of Glasgow; one brother, William Thomas Fredrick of Mt. Vernon; one sister, Sharon K. Stanfield of Lexington; one step-brother, Cecil Francis III of Nicholasville, and four step-sisters, Paula Wooton of Mercer County, Terry and Jo Ellen Francis, both of Utah, and Julie Million of Garrard County.
Graveside services were conducted Monday, July 19 at the Hillcrest Memorial Park, Versailles Road in Lexington with Terry Morrison officiating. Burial was in the Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Arrangements were handled by the Ransdell Funeral Chapel.
RALPH JENKINS
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 24 at 1 p.m. at the Wesleyan Church, 140 East Pleasant Street, Morengo, IN 47140.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Wesleyan Church in his honor.
OPAL KING
Opal Rains King, 83, Harrodsburg, formerly of Williamsburg, widow of Elmer Franklin King, died Saturday, July 17, 2004 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center.
Born Feb. 23, 1921 in Whitley County, she was a daughter of the late William M. and Susie Prewitt Rains.
She was a retired sales clerk. She was a member of Mercer Church of Christ.
Survivors include: one son, Robert Wayne (Susan) King of Harrodsburg; one daughter, Linda Susan (Doug) Myers of Columbia, SC; one brother, Roy Everett Rains of Knoxville, TN; three sisters, Cleda Ragle of Knoxville, TN, Jean West and Billie Rains, both of Versailles; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives.
The funeral was held Tuesday, July 20 at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Williamsburg with Bro. Ernie Gill officiating. A graveside service was held Wednesday, July 21 at the Highland Cemetery in Williamsburg.
ARLENE LEONARD
Arlene Leonard, 87, died Monday, July 19, 2004 at the St. Joseph East Hospital in Lexington.
Born April 3, 1917 in Mercer County, she was a daughter of the late Talbert and Laura Meadors Ballard.
She was a retired staff worker for the ILGWU. She was the flower lady at McDowell Place and enjoyed traveling and reading and was a former caregiver. She was a member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one son, Dr. Garnett (Terri) Leonard of North Little Rock, AR; one daughter, Evelyn Taylor of Harrodsburg; two sisters, Frieda Guilfoil and June Talberta Vise, both of Athens, and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Beatrice Kirkpatrick and her son-in-law, Dale Taylor.
The funeral will be Saturday, July 24, 2004 at 11:30 a.m. at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Dr. Robert DeFoor and Bro. Terry Morrison officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be William, Tommy, Duane and Bradley Guilfoil, Phillip Thompson and Dennis Gibson.
Visitation Friday from 5 until 9 p.m. and Saturday after 7 a.m. at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home.
HENRY PULLIAM III
Henry M. Pulliam III, 69, Bob-O-Link Drive, husband of Louise Million Pulliam, died Saturday, July 17, 2004 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born March 25, 1935 in Mercer County, he was a son of Mary Lou Jennings McCristal of Harrodsburg and the late Henry Marshall Pulliam Jr.
He was a retired auto parts dealer. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, a member of the V.F.W., the American Legion, the D.A.V. and was a Kentucky Colonel. He was a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church and attended the Fellowship Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: two sons, Marty (Mary) Pulliam of Stanford and Woody (Sherry) Pulliam of Glasgow; one daughter, Barbara (George) Buckner of Louisville; four grandchildren, Ryan and Sara Buckner and Elizabeth and Sarah Katherine Pulliam and one great-grandchild, Kali Ray.
He was preceded in death by one brother, John Pulliam Sr., and two sisters, Shirley Pulliam and Anna Jean Jackson.
The funeral was conducted Monday, July 19 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Bro. James Harley officiating. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery with military rites.
Pallbearers were Kenneth Meredith, Tim and Chad Ellis, Dennis Ballard, Nick Huff, Allen Hendren, Bobby Thompson, David Taylor and John Ray.
Honorary bearers were Truman Graham, Ryan and Sara Buckner, Elizabeth Anne and Sarah Katherine Pulliam and Kali Ray.

WILLIAM STRATTON
William Kenneth Stratton, 74, Short Road, Salvisa, died Saturday, July 17, 2004 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Oct. 14, 1929 in Mercer County, he was a son of the late William Preston and Eva Currens Stratton.
He was a retired engineer for the Department of Transportation, Division of Bridges for the Kentucky state government. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge # 90 F & AM in Lawrenceburg and of the Oleika Shrine Temple. He was a Kentucky Colonel and a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the Claylick Methodist Church.
Survivors include: his fiancé, Carol Becker of Campbellsville; two sons, William Kenneth Stratton Jr. of Lawrenceburg and Ashley W. Stratton of Ludlow; one daughter, Pam (Dennis) Bourne of Frankfort; four brothers, Arnett Stratton of Lexington, Lyle Stratton of Bowling Green, Bobby Stratton of Salvisa, and Sherman Stratton of Powder Springs, GA; six sisters, Mae Redman and Frances Ellis, both of Denham Springs, LA, Rebecca Clem of Salvisa, Kathleen Bowen of Mercer County, Lavenia Brammer of Danville, and Jeanette Sullivan of Monroe, GA; four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Gertrude Hill.
The funeral was conducted Tuesday, July 20 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Rev. John Hockersmith and Rev. Pete Gilliam officiating. Burial was in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Allen Wayne Bowen, Randy Orwig, Jeff Wayne, Jerry Bell, Bill Mann, Brian Bourne, Cody, Craig and Ken Stratton and Ted Hill.
Masonic services were conducted Monday evening at the chapel.

RANDALL TUNNELL
Randall “Randy” Gene Tunnell, 41, Lexington, died Saturday, July 17, 2004.
Born Aug. 5, 1962 in Lexington, he was a son of George W. Tunnell of Lexington and the late Charlotte Ann Parks Sullivan.
He was a horse trainer assistant and a groomsman at Keeneland. He was a baseball coach with Idle Hour Babe Ruth.
Survivors include: his fiancé, Sharon Strange of Lexington; one daughter, Courtney Tunnell of Lawrenceburg; two stepsons, Josh and Jimmy Newsome, both of Lexington; two brothers, Robert L. Tunnell of Harrodsburg and Rick Tunnell of Lexington; three sisters, Kelly R. Duncan, Ramona K. Johnson, both of Lexington and Cathy Ewing of Knoxville, TN, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Betty Tunnell.
A graveside service was held Wednesday, July 21 at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Lexington.
Pallbearers were Josh and Jimmy Newsome, Christopher and Justin Tunnell, Christopher Thomas and Lance Duncan.
Arrangements were handled by W. R. Milward Mortuary- Southland in Lexington.

MARY WALTON
Mary Louise Walton, 82, Lexington, formerly of Winchester, widow of Col. John Maxey Walton USA (Ret.), died Sunday, July 18, 2004 at Hospice Care Center of St. Joseph.
She was a member of Cathedral of Christ The King Church.
Survivors include: one son, John M. Walton II of Winchester; one daughter, Melinda (John) Walton-Harder of Burgin; six brothers; three sisters, and four grandchildren.
Private graveside services were held Wednesday, July 21at the Munfordville Cemetery in Hart County with Father Joe Rogers officiating.
Arrangements were handled by Edgington-Taylor Funeral Home in Winchester.

Douglas Laws Post #52, American Legion, Post #6935, V.F.W. and D.A.V. Post #54 conducted Military Rites for Henry M. Pulliam III at Spring Hill Cemetery on Monday, July 19, 2004.
Those attending were: Lucian Landers, Marion Mershon, Dewitt Sims, Curtis Sherrow, Tom Denny, Joe Harlow, Kris Stines, Floyd Shirley, James Tewmey and Preston Burgin.

SUSAN BAKER
Susan Baker, 66, North Main Street, died Saturday July 24, 2004 at University of Kentucky Medical Center.
Born Sept. 14, 1937 in Clay County, she was a daughter of the late Nathaniel (Mac) and Della Hensley Pennington.
She was a sales associate at Wal-Mart in Harrodsburg. She was a member of Harrodsburg Church of God where she served as secretary and treasurer of the Ladies Ministries and was active in Vacation Bible School. She enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include: one daughter, Sherry Jean (David) Pope of Harrodsburg; three sons, Russell H. (Joyce) Bruner of Nicholasville, Staff Sgt. Forest McDowell (Dawn) Bruner of Seoul, South Korea and Chris (Donna) Baker of Harrodsburg; two brothers, Alfred Donald (Rella) Pennington of Harrodsburg and Arthur Lee “Butch” (Judy) Pennington of Middletown, OH; three sisters, Emma Jean Hicks of West Harrison, IN, Eunice Cole and Betty Lou (David R.) Baker, both of Harrodsburg; 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley and Forest Pennington, and one sister, Ollie Mae (Polly) Lamb.
The funeral will be today, Thursday, July 29 at 1 p.m. at Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Glenn Daugherty officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tim Bruner, Kenneth Baker, Tony Peavler, and Stanley, Ronnie and Charles Cole.
Visitation Wednesday from 6 until 9 p.m. and Thursday after 7 a.m. at Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home.
DONNIE GOODLETT
Donnie Lee Goodlett, 55, Harlan, formerly of Harrodsburg, husband of Karen Goodlett, died Tuesday, July 20, 2004 at his home after a short illness.
Born Oct. 28, 1948 in Harrodsburg, he was a son of the late Frank and Mary Lane Goodlett.
He was a self-employed mason and believed in the Baptist faith.
Survivors include: two sons, Jeffery Brent and Christopher Lee (Krissy) Goodlett, both of Harrodsburg; one daughter, Cynthia Anne (Damon) Kelly, also of Harrodsburg; seven brothers, Kenneth (Goldie) Goodlett of Versailles, Harold (Margaret) and David Goodlett of Harrodsburg, Frankie (Emma Dell) Goodlett of Salvisa, Kenneth (Joanne) Raley of IN, Bill (Violet) Raley of Frankfort, and James (Ruby) Raley of Harrodsburg; four sisters, Imogene Goodlett of Versailles, Opal (Virgil) Peyton and Rachel Goodlett, both of Harrodsburg, and Brenda Goodlett of Danville, and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Paul Goodlett.
The funeral was held Friday, July 23 at the Rich Funeral Home in Harlan with Rev. James Harley and Rev. James W. Pope officiating. Burial was in Harlan.
