Jeannette Irene Tharp, 61, Lexington, formerly of Junction City, widow of Ansel Tharp, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2004 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
Born Oct. 23, 1942 in Fayette County, she was a daughter of the late Roger Blake and Lizzie Rita Hamilton Young.
She was a retired regional manager for Burger King, a member of Revival Tabernacle and enjoyed being a homemaker.
Survivors include: one sister, Eunice Lee Ashley of Eubank; two nephews, Donald Ray Ashley of Somerset and Mark Anthony Ashley of Eubank; one niece, Patricia Estes of Eubank; three aunts; two great-nieces, and three great-nephews.
The funeral was held Saturday, Oct. 9 at Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Mike Conover and Donald Ray Ashley officiating. Burial was in Parksville Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Donald Ray and Mark Anthony Ashley, Alex and Shelby Estes and Stephen Padgett.
EDITH THOMPSON
Edith Walker Thompson, 87, North Main St., widow of Hershell W. Thompson, died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004 at Camdenh-Clark Memorial Hospital in Parkersburg, WV.
Born Dec. 30, 1916 in McDowell County, WV, she was the daughter of the late James E. and Nancy Brammer Walker.
She was a member of Harrodsburg Church of God.
Survivors include: two sons, Ronald D. Thompson of Rison, AK and Lloyd “Doug” Thompson of Lawrenceburg; three daughters, Bonnie N. Patterson of Harrodsburg, Judith Graham of Marietta, GA, and Linda Kay Mann of Ravenswood, WV; one brother, Leonard T. Walker of Shawnee, OK; 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held Sunday, Oct. 10 at Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Glenn Daugherty and Bro. John Hoskins officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were grandsons.
SARAH BROWN
Sarah Henrietta Brown, 77, Harrodsburg, widow of Hugh Brown, died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2004 at The Danville Center for Health and Rehabilitation.
Born Sept. 5, 1927 in Lexington, she was the daughter of the late John C. and Amanda Mae Eldridge Allender.
She was a retired bookkeeper for several Mercer County businesses. She was a Kentucky Colonel, a graduate of Burgin High School and a member of the Burgin Christian Church.
Graveside services will be today, Thursday, Oct. 21 at 1 p.m. at Spring Hill Cemetery with Bro. Bobby Logue officiating.
Arrangements are being handled by Ransdell Funeral Chapel.

HOMER MCDANIEL JR.
Homer "Jack" McDaniel Jr., 73, of Halls Lane, husband of Chestene Wallace McDaniel, died Friday, October 15, 2004.
Born in Richmond, he was a son of the late Homer Sr. and Alma Coffey McDaniel.
A retired Quality Control Inspector at Standard Products Co., he was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church and a veteran of the U. S. Navy.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include: his daughter, Tracye Barnes and her husband Gavin Canon, his son, Dale W. "Red" McDaniel, all of Lexington; two sisters, Hazel Turner of Versailles, Marie Kenley of IN; a brother, James W. McDaniel of Salvisa, and five grandchildren, Kyle McDaniel, Daylin McDaniel, Justin Jones, Holly Barnes, and Weston Barnes.
A daughter, Toni Gayle McDaniel preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Monday, at 11 a.m. at the Hillcrest Baptist Church, Lexington, with Bro. Tony Hancock, Rev. Jim Rediford, and Rev. Don White officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Weston Barnes, Justin Jones, Seth Knight, Tony Meadows, Danny Maxwell, Demetrius Rankin, Shaun Cooper, and Drew Ashcraft. Honorary pallbearers will be friends.
Visitation will be from 2 - 6 p.m. Sunday, October 17, at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home in Versailles and after 10 a.m. Monday at the church in Lexington.
Memorial contributions are suggested to a favorite charity.
LIBERA PENSA
Libera “Libby” Pensa, 84, Talmage-Mayo Road, widow of Mario Pensa, died Friday Oct. 15, 2004 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital Extended Care Facility.
Born Jan. 5, 1920 in Italy, she was the daughter of the late Giovanni and Ester Machetto Mino.
She was a retired employee from the Bulova Watch Company in New York. She was very active in the St. Andrew Catholic Church, was a volunteer for the American Red Cross, loved music and cooking and was a world traveler.
Survivors include: one daughter, Rosalie Lopresto of Harrodsburg; one son, Mario Pensa of Suffern, NY; six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral mass was held Monday, Oct. 18 at the St. Andrew Catholic Church with Fr. Joseph Muench officiating. Burial was in the Most Holy Trinity Cemetery, East Hampton, NY.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to St. Andrew Catholic Church Building Fund, 1125 Danville Road, Harrodsburg, KY 40330.

MARY ROBBINS
Mary Ida Thompson Robbins, 83, of Stanford, formerly of McKinney, died Friday, October 15, 2004 at Fort Logan Hospital.
Born July 14, 1921, in Bowling Green, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Lottie Young Thompson.
She was a retired McKinney Elementary School cook and a homemaker. She was a member of McKinney Baptist Church and Green River Homemakers Club. She was the widow of Andrew Robbins.
Survivors include: nine sons, Earl H. Robbins, Harrodsburg, Buford Robbins Jr., Versailles, Carl E. Robbins, Somerset, David A. Robbins and Michael D. Robbins, both of Stanford, John W. Robbins, Danville, Marty W. Robbins, Lancaster, Charles R. Robbins, McKinney, and Harold R. Robbins, Scranton, PA; six daughters, Ethel L. Miracle and Wanda K. Miracle, both of Stanford, Mary Jo Peyton, Hustonville, Tammy J. Henry, Vicky G. Smith and Teffnie C. Wray, all of New Salem; one sister, Katherine Voils, Russell Springs; 43 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 18, at Fox Funeral Home by the Rev. Bob Bausum. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Sunday and after 8 a.m. Monday.
JANETTA RUSSELL
Janetta Hogue Russell, 81, of Cavalcade Drive, Danville, wife of Raymond L. Russell, died Friday, October 15, 2004 at Danville Center for Health and Rehabilitation.
Born March 22, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Mary Robinson Hogue.
She was a homemaker and a member of Lexington Avenue Church of Christ.
Other survivors include: a son, Joe Gerlach of Harrodsburg; a daughter, Sandy Watts of Danville; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 18, at Stith Funeral Home by Steve Wolfgang and Scott Vifquain. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joe Dale Gerlach, A. J. Johnson, Bob Pentecost, Tom Cummins, Wayne Thurman, Terry Graham and Bob Newby.
Honorary pallbearers are Raymond Float, Leroy Johnson, Bill Royalty, Cecil Ellis, Earl Adams and Hubert Royalty.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Sunday.
ROBERT SHEWMAKER JR.
Robert Lee “Shew” Shewmaker Jr., 48, McAfee Lane, Salvisa, died Friday, Oct. 15, 2004 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lexington.
Born Nov. 12, 1955 in Harrodsburg, he was a son of Robert Lee Shewmaker Sr. and Dora Manuel Shewmaker.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran, a member of the American Legion, an employee at Wal-Mart in Frankfort, a substitute teacher at Franklin County High School in Frankfort, a former employee of the State Department of Transportation, worked at Midway College for a number of years, and was a member of the Salvisa Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one son, Zackery (April) Shewmaker, and one brother, Ronald “Bo” Shewmaker, both of Mercer County; two grandchildren, Hunter Shewmaker and Caitlyn Potts; several nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Jackie Noonan.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Linda Jo Cushion.
The funeral was conducted Monday, Oct. 18 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jason Clark. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery with military rites.
Pallbearers were Tony Dearing, B. J. Shewmaker, Curtis Manuel, Herbie Ashton, George Gibson, Anthony Becknell and Bobby Long.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Salvisa Baptist Church Building Fund.

PATSY YOUNG
Patsy Young, 73, Danville, died Monday, Oct. 18, 2004 at the Charleston Health Care Center in Danville.
Born Jan. 20, 1930 in Petoskey, MI she was the daughter of the late George and Jeanetta Edwards Trimble.
She was a retired state employee.
Survivors include: one son, Lynn B. (Sunshine) Young of Georgetown; one daughter, Vicki Cummins of Danville; two sisters, Betty Stevens of Clinton Township, MI and Joyce Seiferlein of Port Richey, FL; two grandsons; two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Billie Miller.
Private graveside services will be held today, Thursday, Oct. 21 with J.C. Young officiating.
There will be no visitation.
