MILDRED JAMES

Mildred Brackett James, 67, Lexington, wife of Franklin Thomas James, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004 at the Hospice Care Center in the St. Joseph Hospital.

Born March 25, 1937, she was a daughter of the late William and Mary McCarthy Brackett.

She was a clerical secretary for Consolidated Freightways and was a member of Palomar Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, survivors include: one daughter, Mary Lesli (Eric) James-Place of Lexington; one stepson, Shane Thomas James of Florida; one sister, Flora (James) Davis of Versailles; one half sister, Billie (Louis) Roberts, also of Lexington; one grandchild, and three nephews.

The funeral was held Tuesday, Dec. 21 at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home -- Harrodsburg Road, Lexington with Pastor James Heard officiating. Burial was in the Camp Nelson National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Parkinson’s Support Group, 351 Harp and Innis Pike, Lexington, KY 40511 and to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 2312 Alexandria Dr., Lexington, KY 40504.

FLORENCE O’NAN

Florence Mae O’Nan, 76, West Broadway, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2004 at The James B. Haggin Extended Care Facility.

Born March 17, 1928 in Boyle County, she was a daughter of the late Leonard and Lena Warren Rogers.

She was retired from Palm Beach in Danville and was a member of the Burgin Baptist Church.

Survivors include: one son, Jim (Debby) O’Nan; one sister, Ruth Cannon; two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, all of Harrodsburg, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, Ralph, Leonard, Marion, Lunce and Clarence Rogers.

The funeral was conducted Saturday, Dec. 18 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. James Harley officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Marion Rogers Jr., Leonard Rogers III, Ralph Rogers Jr., Johnny, Randall and James Rogers and Frank Cannon.

Honorary pallbearers were Bobby and Ricky Long, Jimmy O’Nan and Gary Coslow.

BOBBY ROYALTY

Bobby Gene Royalty, 70, Burgin, husband of Nancy Lowe Royalty, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004 at his residence.

He was currently a Burgin city commissioner.

Arrangements are incomplete at Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home.

MARGARET SHARP

Margaret “Mag” Ritchey Sharp, 90, widow of William Sharp, died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2004 at Harrodsburg Health Care Center.

Born June 3, 1914 in Lexington, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Maggie Ritchey.

She was a homemaker and a member of South Elkhorn Baptist Church.

Survivors include: one son, William B. “Bo” (Judy) Sharp of Lexington; one daughter, Nancy (Lonnie) Jenkins of Harrodsburg; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Grace Mayes.

The funeral was held Friday, Dec. 17 at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Road, Lexington with Rev. Joseph Smith and Rev. Phil Schultz officiating. Burial was in Lexington Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Ashland Terrance, 475 S. Ashland Ave., Lexington, KY 40507.

ELIZABETH BONTA
Elizabeth L. Bonta, 88, formerly of Harrodsburg, widow of James Bonta, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004 at the Spring View Hospital in Lebanon.

Born Jan. 13, 1916 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Shannon and Talitha Russell Terhune.

She was a self-employed homemaker.

Survivors include: one great-niece, Linda Pike of Danville.

She was preceded in death by one niece, Connie Carroll.

Graveside funeral services were conducted Friday, Dec. 24 in the Spring Hill Cemetery with Charles White officiating.

Arrangements were handled by Ransdell Funeral Chapel.

WILLIAM CURTSINGER
William Danny Curtsinger, 53, East Office St., died Monday, Dec. 27, 2004 at the Danville Center for Health and Rehabilitation.

Born Sept. 24, 1951 in Hamilton County, OH, he was the son of Margaret Baker Curtsinger of Harrodsburg and the late William Robert Curtsinger.

He had worked in shipping and receiving at I.B.M. and most recently had worked at Quebecor. He attended the Harrodsburg Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting and gun collecting.

Survivors include: one sister, Sandy (Bruce) Harper of Mercer County; one niece; one nephew, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The funeral was conducted Wednesday, Dec. 29 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Dr. Robert DeFoor officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers were David Patrick, Jimmy Carroll, Steve and Brent Logue, Charlie Hensley, Bobby Jack Baker and Oscar Curtsinger.

Honorary pallbearers were Gary Lay, Tommy Watts, Dale Powell, David Noel and Gaylon Claunch.

FLORENCE GULLETT
Florence P. Gullett, 65, 915 Riverside Drive, widow of Melvin Paul Gullett, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.

Born Feb. 2, 1939 in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Mazie Vest Pike.

She was a retired Modine Manufacturing employee and a member of Freedom Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg and also attended Dry Branch Baptist Church in Harrodsburg.

Survivors include: one son, Jeff Gullett, and two daughters, Debbie Newton and Angie Moore, all of Harrodsburg; three sisters, Stella Pelley and June Randolph, both of Mitchellsburg, and Opal Young of Ohio, and three grandchildren.

The funeral will be Friday, Dec. 31 at 2 p.m. at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Bro. Bobby Logue and Bro. Donnie Releford officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday from 5 until 9 p.m. and Friday after 7:30 a.m. at the chapel.

BILLY HILL
Billy Joe Hill, 69, husband of Betty Noel Hill, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.

Born Feb. 28, 1935 in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Marvin and Tolla Belle Ritter Hill.

He was a Lehr operator at Corning Incorporated for 36 years and a member of Ellers Memorial Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, survivors include: one son, William Hill of Harrodsburg; two daughters, Beverly (Dannie) Goodpaster of Harrodsburg and Betty Jo (Chris) Richmond of England; one brother, Wayne Hill, also of Harrodsburg; one sister, Mary McDonald of Charlotte, NC, and six grandchildren.

Private funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 24 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Dr. Kenneth Whitehouse officiating. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers were grandsons.

ANNA MANNING
Anna Lee Sims Manning, 86, 125 Parkview Ave., widow of John B. Manning, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004 at her residence.

Born Jan. 16, 1918 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Garland and Letha Poulter Sims.

She was a retired C.P.A. for Deloitte, Haskins and Sells and a member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church.

Survivors include: one sister, Georgia Hoover of Harrodsburg; two sisters-in-law, Patsy Sims of Burgin and Vivian Sims of Stanford; one niece, and two nephews.

The funeral was held Friday, Dec. 24 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Rev. Don Chase officiating. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers were John and Jeff Sims, Cary B. Howard, Arran Campbell, Howard Fallis and Jon and Jim Hester.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Gideon Bible Fund or to the Harrodsburg Christian Church.

THELMA NICHOLS
Thelma Frances Nichols, 86, New Dixville Road, widow of Charles O. Nichols, died Friday, Dec. 24, 2004 at the Danville Center for Health and Rehabilitation.

Born Nov. 24, 1918 in Louisville, she was the daughter of the late Buel L. and Nellie V. Hudson Sacra.

She was a homemaker, a member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church and a lifetime member of the Homemakers.

Survivors include: one son, B. Tom Nichols, and one daughter, Susan F. King, both of Harrodsburg; one sister, Norma S. Nichols of Louisville; three grandchildren, and three great- grandchildren.

The funeral was conducted Monday, Dec. 27 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Bert Paden officiating. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Diabetes Foundation or to the Crusade for Children.
