Vicki Votaw Slusher, 50, Lexington, wife of Kenneth Turner, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004 at Central Baptist Hospital.
Born in Harrodsburg, she was a daughter of Donald Votaw and the late Billie Helen Shackleford Votaw.
She was a homemaker and a member of Revival Tabernacle Church.
In addition to her husband and father, survivors include: her stepmother, Joyce Votaw; three daughters, Angela C. Bottom, Virgin Islands, Carmen R. (Steve) Greene, Lawrenceburg, and Sarah Kaye Slusher, Lexington; a sister, Donna (Mike) Greene, Lawrenceburg; and two grandchildren.
The funeral was held Wednesday, Jan. 7, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home with Bro. John Jessup officiating. Burial was in Rose Crest Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ray Turner, Mike Turner, Joe Harp, Troy Ballard, Raymond Slusher, Gary Ray and Joey Ballard.
DAVID JOSEPH WILLIS
David Joseph Willis, 52, South Central Ave., Nicholasville, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004 at his residence.
Born Nov. 15, 1951 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Joe C. and Beatrice Pevlor Willis. He was the owner of Lawrenceburg Auto Supply and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Betty Goodlett Willis; four children, Rose Goodlett, Harrodsburg, Mary Beth Willis, Christina Willis, and Joshua Willis, all of Nicholasville; a sister, Diana Byrd, Harrodsburg; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Gena Frances Willis.
The funeral was held Tuesday, Jan. 13 at Hager and Cundiff Funeral Home with Rev. Troy Morrison officiating. Burial was in the Wilmore Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Gene Goodlett, Gordon Goodlett, Everett Goodlett, Jeffrey Goodlett, Anthony Goodlett and Michael Goodlett.
Contributions may be made in Willis's memory to Hospice of the Bluegrass, Jessamine County.
VERNON LEWIS
Vernon Lewis, 76, Perryville Road, Springfield, died Monday, Jan. 5, 2004 at his residence.
A native of Washington County, he was born on Sept. 18, 1927 to the late Earl and Anna Lee Baker Lewis.
He was a retired farmer and a member of Temple Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Lucille Byrd Lewis; a daughter, Wanda Lou (Ronnie Lee) Hume, a son, Terry (Mavalyn Irene) Lewis, both of Harrodsburg; three sisters, Mrs. Bobby (Jewell) Holt, Bardstown, Martha Hellard, Bloomfield, and Orpha Walls, Springfield; six brothers, Buddy Lewis, Chaplin, Carl Lewis, Leon Lewis and Larry Gene Lewis, all of Springfield, Ancil Earl Lewis, Mackville, Donnie Kenneth Lewis, Danville; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Arvil Lewis and Bruce Lewis.
The funeral was held Wednesday, Jan. 7 at Carey and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Chesser officiating. Burial was in New Hope Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jamie Bottom, Billy Joe Allen, Wesley Lewis, Chad Lewis, Ricky Lewis and James Sims. Honorary pallbearers were Johnny Coyle, Johnny Essex and Abell Parrott.
JAMES M. CRANE
James M. Crane, 84, died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004.
Born Sept. 14, 1919 in Evansville, IN, he was associated with his father and brothers in retail lumber businesses in Evansville and Henderson, IN. He and his wife, Rose Marie Crane, developed several subdivisions and built homes in Evansville, Henderson, Harrodsburg and Fort Lauderdale, FL.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: eight brothers, Bob Crane of Lawrenceburg, Steve Crane of Salvisa, David Crane, Patrick Crane and John Crane, of Kelowna, BC Canada, and Jerry Crane, Paul Crane and Bill Crane, all of Armstrong, BC Canada; two daughters Mary Ann Laluk of Osoyoas, BC Canada and Kathleen Cheng of Vancover, BC Canada; 22 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Services were at 11 a.m. Jan. 8 at St. Anne's Catholic Church, Osoyoas, BC Canada.
ROBERT EMMETT GORANFLO
Robert Emmett "Coach" Goranflo, 90, Louisville, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2004 at Twinbrook Nursing Home.
He was a native of Elizabethtown and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a retired teacher and coach of football and tennis in several school districts. He also managed the state tennis tournaments for many years.
Survivors include: his wife, Fay Hatchell Goranflo; a son, Robert E. (Linda) Goranflo; a daughter, Karalee Goranflo; a brother, Henry Morgan Goranflo; three grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held Monday, Jan. 19, at Highlands Funeral Home, Louisville. Burial was in Middletown Cemetery.
Memorial gifts may be made to The Salvation Army or Kosair Children's Hospital.
HUBERT E. SIRCY JR.
Hubert E. Sircy Jr., 72, 2152 Bohon Road, husband of Pat Sircy, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2004 at his residence after a long illness.
Born Feb. 20, 1931 in Lebanon, TN, he was the son of the late Hubert Sircy Sr. and Etwell Naomi Green Sircy.
He was a self-employed horse-shoer.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: five sons, Justin Sircy, Boston MA, Joseph L. Sircy, Cary IL, James W. Sircy, Latuna Canyon, CA, John F. (Debbie) Sircy, Paducah, and Jay H. (Tina) Sircy, Latuna Canyon; two daughters, Katherine (David) Sircy Wright, DesMoines, IA, and Karen M. Sircy, Norfolk, VA; one half-sister, Carolyn Wilson, Spokane, Washington; 13 grandchildren. and six great grandchildren.
The funeral was conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the St. Andrew Catholic Church by Father Joseph Muench. Burial will be in a Columbarium at the St. Andrew Catholic Church on a later date.
The Ransdell Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

VIRGIL WARNER
Virgil "Junior" Warner, 75, 301 Dixie Manor, husband of Elaine Riley Warner, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004 at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington after a long illness.
Born Nov. 15, 1928 in Washington County, he was the son of the late Homer and Opha Salmon Warner.
He was a retired lab technician at Corning Glass Works Inc. of Harrodsburg. He was a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church and a former member, deacon, and Sunday School teacher at Eller's Memorial Baptist Church.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: a daughter, Debbie (Larry) Cheser, Springfield; two brothers, Bill Warner, Boca Raton, FL, and Maurice Warner, Jacksonville, FL, and two grandsons, Will and Clay Cheser, both of Springfield.
The funeral was conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Dr. Robert DeFoor and Mike Conover. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Will and Clay Cheser, Everett Hall Jr., Marion Inman, Gene Yates, Greg Warner and Dennis Holiday. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church Glad Hand Sunday School Class.

NELLIE ELLA WATTS
Nellie Ella Watts, 88, 527 Allah Ave., widow of Raymond Watts Sr., died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital after an illness.
Born Sept. 17, 1915 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Strother and Laura Lyons Watts.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Bohon Baptist Church.
Survivors include: two sons Raymond Watts Jr., Harrodsburg, and Kenneth Dale Watts, Georgetown; four daughters, Ruby Chambers, Viola Baker, Mary Baker and Beverly Griffin, all of Harrodsburg; one brother, William T. Watts, Harrodsburg; one sister Jane Watts, Harrodsburg; 21 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Iva and Ronald Watts; four daughters, Thelma Stephens, Sue Watts, Georgia Weldon, and Juanita Byrd; five brothers, Lewis, Joe, Nelson, Cecil and Don Watts; five sisters, Myrtle LouAllen, Georgia Bottoms, Mable Kincade, Laura Watts and Lottie Watts.
The funeral was conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Ken Calia. Burial was in the Providence Cemetery in Mercer County.
Pallbearers were Harold Baker, Charlie Baker, Tommy King, Steve Weldon, James Davis and Harold Mullins. Honorary pallbearers were grandchildren.
JAMES ADKINSON
James LeRoy Adkinson, 87, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2004 in Terre Haute, IN.
Born Aug. 1, 1916, he was a native of Mercer County. He was the son of the late Oswald and Pearl Moore Adkinson.
He is survived by two daughters, Linda Lee (Bob) Wiemouth, Terre Haute, IN and Mary Jo (Sam) Cote, Hopkins, MN; one brother, Clyde (Hazel) Adkinson, Missouri; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Warner Adkinson.
The body will be cremated. A memorial for he and his wife will be held at a later date.
NICHOLAS BEASLEY
Nicholas Patrick Beasley, 16, of 1061 Indian Trail, Lawrenceburg, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2004 from injuries sustained in a car accident on Old Louisville Road at Salvisa.
Born April 3, 1987 in Lexington, he attended Fairview Christian Church and was a member of the church's youth group. He was an 11th grader at the Christian Academy of Lawrenceburg.
Survivors include his mother, Judith Carol Darnell Beasley of Lawrenceburg; his father and stepmother, James Edward and Beverly Beasley of Lawrenceburg; four sisters, Carolee Shifflett of Salvisa, Jill Harper (Jeff) of Lawrenceburg, Mary Evelyn Beasley of Harrodsburg and Holly Shifflett of Lawrenceburg; two brothers, Wade Beasley (Sylvia) of Shelbyville and Billy Beasley (Tina) of Burgin; a stepsister, three stepbrothers, a maternal grandmother, Loraine Darnell of Lawrenceburg, and paternal grandmother, Dorothy Beasley of Harrodsburg.
Beasley was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Russell Darnell, and paternal grandfather, James Franklin Beasley.
The funeral was conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Gash Memorial Chapel in Lawrenceburg with Bro. Mark Wells officiating. Burial was in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Glenn Goodlett, Tim Robinson, Jamie Goodlett, Bradley Cheeseman, Jeffery Cheeseman and Adam Hale.
Honorary pallbearers were 11th grade students at the Christian Academy of Lawrenceburg.
