Mayron Lee Logue, 65, Deep Creek Road, Washington County, died Sunday, March 7, 2004 at his residence.
Born May 17, 1938 in Washington County, he was the son of the late Hobert Ray and Hallie Cummins Logue.
He was an employee of Red Wing Shoes in Danville, a member of the Magnolia Lodge # 201 in Mackville, and a member of the Deep Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include: a daughter, Sandy Lanham of Gravel Switch; one brother, W. T. Logue of Harrodsburg; one sister, Ann Bugg of Springfield; eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jeff Logue, and two brothers, Thomas and H. B. Logue.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Bill Eldridge and Hillary Claypool. Burial was in the Deep Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were William Powell, Paul Logue, Jeffrey D. Logue, Travis Bugg, Cleo Taylor and Ronald Bowen. Honorary pallbearers were Donald Logue, Bobby Logue, Buddy Logue, Russell Wayne Bugg, Jerry Allen Bugg, and Freddie Leonard.

Carrier Arrested In Logue Murder
Vickie Lynn Carrier, 43, of 5312 Deep Creek Road pleaded not guilty to murder in Washington County District Court Monday following her arrest Sunday in connection with the death of Mayron Lee Logue, 65, who resided in the same mobile home as Carrier.
Springfield police received an anonymous call from a female at 10:20 a.m. Sunday, stating that Logue was hurt and needed help at his residence which is 16 miles east of Springfield near the Mercer County line.
According to a report released by Kentucky State Police Sgt. Pat Williams with the Columbia KSP Post, Logue was found dead at the residence as the result of a stab wound. Washington County Corner Freddie Carey said he is waiting until results of an autopsy performed Monday are known before issuing the official cause of death, but did acknowledge Logue had a stab wound.
The state police investigation identified Carrier as a suspect in the murder. She was located, arrested and charged with murder and tampering with physical evidence. She is lodged in the Marion County Jail with no bond set.
A pre-trial hearing on the murder charge is set for 1 p.m. Monday in Washington County District Court.
Washington County Deut Sheriff Lynn Davis and Mercer County Deputy Sheriffs Paul parks and Chris Edwards were also at the scene of the apparent murder Sunday, and State Police Det. Bill Gregory is continuing to investigate the death.
Logue was an employee of Red Wing Shoes in Danville, and was a member of the Magnolia Lodge #201 in Mackville and the Deep Creek Baptist Church.
Among his survivors is a brother, W. T. Logue of Harrodsburg.
AGNES ROSS
Agnes Jean Ross, 75, died Monday, March 8, 2004 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center.
Born Sept. 5, 1928 in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Addie Lee Oldham Ross.
She had worked at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital, and was a member of the Harrodsburg Church of Christ.
Survivors include: her brother, Loraine Ross of Harrodsburg; her sister, Julia Higginbotham of Harrodsburg, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Margret Matherly, and her brothers, Ancsel, Wilbur, Charlie and Stanley Ross.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home. Burial will be in Willisburg Cemetery.
Visitation from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and after 7 a.m. Thursday at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home.
NORA WALLS
Nora M. Walls age 64, of N. College St., died Sunday March 7, 2004 at St. Joseph East Hospital in Lexington.
Born Dec. 4, 1939 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late William Clayton Walls and Ella Mae Walls Rose.
She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, enjoyed movies and country music.
Surivors include; five sisters, Betty Satterly, Nellie Riley, Ann Hardin and Roxie Walls, all of Harrodsburg, and Dorothy Young of Lawrenceburg; a step brother, Walter (Lucy) Rose of Nashville, TN, and several nieces and nephew.
The funeral was held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Browning officaiting. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Roger Hardin, Danny Moore, Chad Hardin, Bruce Young, Gary Young and Darrell Young.
BEUNA VANDIVIER
Beuna Kyler Vandivier, 87, Harrodsburg Health Care Center, formerly of 615 E. Factory, widow of Garnett E. Vandivier, died Tuesday, March 2, 2004 at the health care center.
Born April 12, 1916 in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Royal and Ova Tyler Kyler.
She was a retired seamstress at the former Sportleigh Hall then Cricketeer Manufacturing Corporation in Harrodsburg and at Jonathan Logan in Burgin.
She was also a member of the Mercer County Senior Citizens, enjoyed doing crafts and was a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church.
Survivors include: three daughters, Barbara Deakle of Nicholasville, Sharon Myers of Lexington and Linda Sue Vandivier of Harrodsburg; one sister, Gladys Ransdell, Erlanger; nine grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son Bobby G. Vandivier.
The funeral was conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Dr. Robert DeFoor. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Donald, J. W., Kermit, Bill and Harold D. Logue, and Mike Vandivier.

JANICE GUMM
Janice Rose Gumm, 64, Defries, wife of William E. Gumm, died Thursday, March 4, 2004 at the T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.
Born May 31, 1939 in Burgin, she was a daughter of the late Valus and Elizabeth McCrosky Sims.
She was a retired nurse and a member of the Burgin Christian Church.
Additional survivors include: one son, David (Lisa) Ross of Louisville; one daughter, Lisa (Michael) Clymer of Hardyville; two step-sons, Dale Gumm of Crestwood and Ernie Gumm of Louisiana; one step-daughter, Rita Dartez of Louisville; three grandchildren; one step-grandson, and one great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
The funeral was held Sunday, March 7 at Winn Funeral Home, Horse Cave. Burial was in Defries Cemetery.

LILLIAN PRESTON
Lillian Curd Fallis Preston, 94, Mt. Vernon, died Wednesday, March 3, 2004 in Elton after a long illness.
Born March 12, 1909 in Madison County, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Russell and May Hunter Curd.
She was a retired nurseÕs aid and a member of Mt. Zion Church in Mt. Vernon.
Survivors include: 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Phillip Tracy Fallis and William Russell Fallis.
The funeral was held Monday, March 8 at Lewis Funeral Home in Irvine with Rev. Paul Arvin officiating. Burial was at Shawnee Run Baptist Church Cemetery in Burgin.
RACHEL SUTHERLAND
Rachel Elaine Sutherland, 18, 111 Fontaine Blvd., died Saturday, March 6, 2004 in Hinesville, GA as the result of a traffic accident.
Born Aug. 16, 1985 in Atlanta, GA, she was the daughter of the Rev. Alan and Elaine Moran Sutherland of Winchester. Rev. Sutherland is the supply priest for St. Philip’s Episcopal Church in Harrodsburg.
She was a student at Manhattanville College in New York City. She was an accomplished student and athlete and had participated in many charitable causes.
In addition to her parents, survivors include: one brother, James Alan Sutherland of Winchester; paternal grandparents, Don and Alma Sutherland of Middlesbrough, England; materal grandmother, Edna Moore of Hessle, England, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
The funeral will be held Sunday, March 14 at 4 p.m. at The Cathedral Domain in Beattyville with the Rev. Stacy Sauls officiating. Private burial will be at The Cathedral Domain.
Visitation will be Friday, March 12 from 5 until 9 p.m. at Edgington-Taylor Funeral Home, 289 S. Main, Winchester.

CARL YOUNG
Carl W. Young, 87, Dixie Manor, husband of Brunell Sanders Young, died Tuesday, March 9, 2004 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital Extended Care Facility.
Born Aug. 14, 1916 in Washington County, he was the son of the late Edgar and Bertha Best Young.
He was retired as Mercer County Clerk after serving sixteen years, Vice President of State Bank and Trust Company for several years, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of the American Legion, DAV, VFW, a member of the Kiwanis Club for several years and a member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: one son, Ronnie D. (Jana) Young of Harrodsburg; two grandsons, Chris (Allison) Young of Richmond and Patrick Young of Columbus, OH, and two great-grandchildren, Collier and Mason Young, both of Richmond.
The funeral will be conducted Friday, March 12 at 10:30 a.m. in the Spring Hill Cemetery with Bro. Don Chase officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Rags Gritton, Jim Fitzgerald, Bill Lester, Carlos Lester and Dr. John S. Baughman, III.
There will be no visitation.
