Carl Aggerholm "Swede" Jensen, USN (Ret) died recently from complications following a fractured hip in Tucson, AZ.
Born in Perth Amboy, NJ on Nov. 8 1912, Jensen enlisted in the Navy in 1931. After serving three years aboard ship as a Radioman, he was selected for training with the "On the Roof Gang," the founders of the modern Naval Security Group. He was commissioned during WWII and served in the Pacific as a radio intercept operator and traffic analyst. He was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal and Navy Unit Citation. His other duty stations include Japan and Guam. Prior to his retirement in 1956, Mr. Jensen's last duties were with the Chief of Naval Operations, Cryptographic Engineering. He then joined Lockheed Corp. in New Jersey for 17 years as an engineering administrator.
Survivors include: a daughter, Kathryn Jewett of Harrodsburg; a son, Carl Jensen Jr. of Bricktown, NJ; a sister, Emily Townsend of Westfield, NJ; four grandsons, and six great-grandchildren.
Burial will be May 10 at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors, following a brief service at Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Chapel 11800 New Hampshire Ave., Silver Spring, MD.
Visitation will be on Sunday, May 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday, May 10 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home.
JESSE ADAMS
Jesse Robert Adams, 82, New Castle, widower of Eva Croxton Adams, died Monday, April 19, 2004 at the Baptist Hospital Northeast in LaGrange.
Born Dec. 14, 1921 in Henry County, he was a son of the late Bernie and Florence LaFollette Adams.
He was a farmer and a retired employee of GE after 30 years. He was a member of the Ballardsville Baptist Church.
Survivors include: two daughters, Vickie (Joe) Ballard of Harrodsburg, and Debbie McKinney of New Castle; two sons, Donald Ray Adams and Earl Wayne Adams, both of LaGrange; two sisters, Edith Adams Tennill of New Castle, and Gladys Bramblett of Pleasureville; one brother, Thomas Adams of Corydon, IN; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
The funeral will be today, Thursday, at 11 a.m. at the Prewitt Funeral Home in New Castle with Rev. Tommy Purvis, pastor of the Ballardsville Baptist Church and Rev. Michael Duncan, pastor of the Eminence Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Eminence Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jeff, Brian, Buster and Tony Adams, Robbie Ballard and Josh McKinney.
Honorary bearers will be Kim and Lance Hall, Laney, Staci and Maddie Bast, Donna and Aaron Smith, Holly Derossett, Beth and Taylor Bustle, Brandy Whitehouse and Lori Adams.

LEEANNA JOHNSON
Leeanna Isaacs Johnson, 82, 509 Keenon Road, widow of Preston Johnson, died Tuesday, April 13, 2004 at St. Joseph Hospital.
Born Nov. 5, 1921 in Madison County, she was a daughter of the late Jake and Betty Seenters Isaacs.
She was a homemaker and the head cook for the YMCA Camp Daniel Boone. She attended Bethel Baptist Church and the Bethel Baptist Church Sunday school.
Survivors include: three sons, Jesse J. (Rita) Johnson of Harrodsburg, Steven Earl (Debbie) Johnson and Bobby Dion (Mary Ann) Johnson, both of Garrard County; three daughters, Sarah E. Mills and Deeannette (Vince) Coulter, both of Harrodsburg, and Lola Jean (Sherman) Peel of Garrard County; one sister, Ann Hackworth of Winchester; two brothers, Earl (Louise) Isaacs and Frank Isaacs, both of Winchester; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held Friday, April 16 at Hager and Cundiff Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Geurin officiating. Burial was in the Johnson family cemetery in Spears.
Pallbearers were Andrew Mills, Eric Harmon, Russell Johnson, Cody Poor, Chris Peters and David Fisher.
Honorary bearers were Justin Johnson, Mark Coulter, Mike Jones, Michael Mills and Joseph Michael Humphrey Jr.
EARL G. MOORE JR.
Earl G. Moore Jr., 69, Louisville Road, husband of Christa Lois Johnson Moore, died Sunday, April 18, 2004 at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center.
Born March 9, 1935 in Woodford County, he was the son of the late Earl Griggs and Enola Foley Moore.
He was a graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture and a member of the Mercer County Farm Bureau. He was a member and deacon of the Carpenter's Christian Church of Harrodsburg.
Survivors include: three daughters, Lori M. Mendoza of Lexington, Lisa Ellen (Jimmy "Yogi") Yeager of Salvisa, and Lucinda (Shane) Travillian of Harrodsburg; one sister, Dorothy (Charles) Hays of Pearland, TX; seven grandchildren, Nickie, Buddy, Danni and Staci Yeager, Jason and Jesse Logue, and Ryan Mendoza, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was conducted Wednesday, April 21 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Greg Warren and Don Hill officiating. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were William Earl Yeager, Jason and Jesse Logue, Walter Wayne, Bruce Noel, Maurice Baker, Charles Hays and Hershel Votaw.
Honorary bearers were Glen Devine, Hughes Jones, Marion Ray Inman, Larry Camic, Ed Moore, Ed Moore Jr., Russell Foley and The Spirit Lifters.

MARJORIE NEAL
Marjorie Jean Neal, 67, Harrodsburg Health Care Center, died Tuesday, April 20, 2004 at the center.
Born July 1, 1936 in Woodford County, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Dudley Wilkins.
She was a retired housekeeper at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center.
Survivors include: one son, Charles Edward Neal of Lexington; two daughters, Nancy Huff of Lexington and Tommie Gilvin of Salvisa; five grandchildren; three step grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.
The funeral will be Friday, April 23 at 11 a.m. at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Jack Geurin officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Wesley Gilvin, Chad Gilvin, Dustin Keeling, Jason Devine, Matt Horn, and Josh Gilvin.
Visitation Thursday from 5 until 9 p.m. and Friday after 7:30 a.m. at the chapel.
MINA PERLOW
Mina Rae Jones Perlow, 94, Downers Grove, IL, wife of Gilbert J. Perlow, died Monday, April 19, 2004 at her home.
Born July 15, 1909 in Harrodsburg, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Beriah and Violet Carter Jones.
She attended Centre College in Danville and graduated in the class of 1931. She received an AB Degree and was a Phi Beta Kappa recipient. She received an MA Degree from Pennsylvania State University and her PhD in Chemistry from the University of Chicago. During World War II she worked at the War Production Board in Washington, D.C., and after the war she worked for Mossbauer Effect at Argonne National Laboratory near Downers Grove, IL. She was active in the League of Women Voters and was an enthusiastic sailor. The Perlows recently celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary.
Survivors include: one brother, David C. Jones of Harrodsburg, and three generations of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by five sisters and one brother.
The funeral will be Sunday, April 25 at 1:00 pm at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Dr. J. Robert Ross officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery.

BOBBY PIKE
Bobby Keith Pike, 71, Windy Way, Mackville, husband of Geraldine Hammons Pike, died Thursday, April 15, 2004 at his home after a long illness.
Born April 30, 1932 in Washington County, he was a son of the late Claude and Eva L. Smock Pike.
He was a retired employee of Cudahy Packing Company in Harrodsburg and was a farmer. He was a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include: three sons, Ricky (Nancy) Pike and Larry (Edith) Pike, both of Washington County, and Barry (Cheri) Pike of Harrodsburg; two brothers, Jim and Glenn Pike, both of Washington County; one sister, Mildred Lister, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Walter, Kenneth, Donald and Billy Pike and one sister, Wilma P. Hilbert.
The funeral was conducted Sunday, April 18 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Daniel Wilson and Bobby Logue officiating. Burial was in the Deep Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Gary, Matthew, John and Warren Lee Pike, John Collins Randy Adams, Jason Pike and Dale Keith Hilbert.

CANDY WAGNER
Candy Lane Wagner, 37, Marimon Avenue, died Thursday, April 15, 2004 at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington.
Born Sept. 29, 1966 in Middleton, OH, she was a daughter of Wanda Faye Byrd Morrison of Apple Valley, CA and the late Samuel Lane Morrison.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Danville First Church of God.
Survivors include: two sons, Dorsey (Hayley) Wagner of Richmond and Joshua Wagner of Harrodsburg; one daughter, Alisha Wagner of Harrodsburg; two brothers, Scott Morrison of Willisburg and Sam Morrison of Fullerton, CA, and one sister, Angie Mefford of Ventura, CA and her fiancé, Ernie Meeks of Harrodsburg.
The funeral was held Wednesday, April 21 at the Hazel Green Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by the Ransdell Funeral Chapel.

HARLAN WALLS
Harlan Wayne Walls, 60, Burgin, husband of Dixie Belle McRay Walls, died Sunday, April 18, 2004 at the Ephriam McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born April 10, 1944 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Harlan and Anna Laura Keeling Walls.
He was a shipping department employee for North American Phillips Lighting Corporation in Danville, a U.S. Navy veteran, a member of the National Rifle Association and a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include: three daughters, Melody Anne Woods and Stephanie Carol Proctor, both of Burgin, and Christal Wayne Darland of Harrodsburg; one sister, Peggy Anne Lucas of Burgin, and five grandchildren, Andrew Curtsinger, Stuart and Nichole Woods, and Taylor and Colton Darland.
The funeral was conducted Thursday, April 22 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Bro. John Hockersmith officiating.
