Toby Scott Collier, 32, Perryville Road, died Sunday, May 9, 2004 in Lexington.
Born Sept. 15, 1971 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of Patricia Hamlin Marrs of Warner Robins, GA and the late Marvin Lee Collier and the grandson of Belve and Margaret Collier and Virginia and Howard Nichols, all of Harrodsburg.
He was a self-employed truck driver and enjoyed horses and trucking.
Survivors include: one son, Louis Anderson Collier of Harrodsburg; two sisters, Robin Logue of Harrodsburg, and Telly Marrs of Warner Robins, GA; one niece, Sarah Gooch, and one nephew, Nathan Gooch, both of Harrodsburg; several aunts; uncles and cousins.
The funeral was conducted Wednesday, May 12 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Logue officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Nick Collier, Joey Wesley, Ronnie Sims, Ronnie Rogers, David Tingle, David Phillips, Troy Moore and Terry Sallee.
Honorary bearers were Louis Anderson Collier, Brian Salisbury, Donnie Sims, Donald French, Chris Collier, Mark Matherly, Todd Collier, Eddie Goodlett, Scott Hamlin, Sarah Gooch and Nathan Gooch.

STANLEY ELLIS
Stanley Ellis, 71, West Office Street, husband of Sue Demaree Ellis, died Friday, May 7, 2004 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center.
Born Aug. 14, 1932 in Boyle County, he was a son of the late Boyd and Anna Hafley Ellis.
He was a retired farmer and a member of the Sycamore Church of Christ.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: one son, Jeff (Becky) Ellis of Harrodsburg; one daughter, Melanie (Steve) McKinney of Harrodsburg; one brother, Donald Ellis of Danville and four grandchildren.
The funeral was held Tuesday, May 11 at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Perryville.
Arrangements were handled by the Ransdell Funeral Chapel.
LUCIAN HINES SR.
Lucian Daniel Hines Sr., 95, West Factory Street, died Wednesday, May 5, 2004 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
Born May 10, 1908 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late George Washington and Bessie Bottoms Hines.
He was a retired employee of the City of Harrodsburg street department. He was a member of the Centennial Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one son, Lucian Daniel Hines Jr. of Middletown, OH; one daughter, Irene Hines of Columbus, OH; two nephews, E.P. Reed of Harrodsburg and Thomas L. Hines Sr. of Dayton, OH; one niece, Bessie VanDyke Henderson of Harrodsburg; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several great-nieces, and nephews and cousins.
The funeral was held Monday, May 10 at the Centennial Baptist Church with Elder J.D. Short III and Rev. Ralph B. Smith officiating. Burial was in the Maple Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were James Bryant Jr., Andrew Harris, Albert Mitchell, James T. Boyd, George Hudson and Scott Jones.
Honorary bearers were William “Bo” Yeast, Benny Yeast, Mike and Phillip VanDyke and Lucian Hines III.

BILLY KING JR.
Billy W. King Jr., 42, Nicholasville, husband of Sheila King, died Monday, May 10, 2004.
Born March 17, 1962 in Danville, he was a son of Bill King Sr. of Harrodsburg and the late Nancy Katherine Randolph Thompson and stepson of Frank Thompson of Junction City.
He was concessions manager at Rupp Arena and was a graduate of Lincoln County High School.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: one daughter, Nicole (Ashley) King of Lexington; one son, Billy W. King III of Nicholasville; four brothers, Kelley King of Harrodsburg, Gregory Lee, Gary and Larry Thompson, all of Junction City, and one sister, Dana Michelle Simpson of Moreland.
The funeral will be today, Thursday, at 11 a.m. at the W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home in Moreland with Rev. David Fralix officiating. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Larry, Gary and Greg Thompson, Rick and Jack Lynn and Kelley King. Honorary bearers will be Ashley King, Tony Scarpettia and Tommy McGire.
Visitation Wednesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home.
SADIE NOTTER
Sadie McMahon Notter, 91, widow of Daniel A. Notter, died May 2, 2004 in Harrodsburg.
Born Oct. 10, 1912, she was a longtime resident of Gallia County, OH.
She and her husband operated a farm in Ohio for many years.
Survivors include: one son, Dr. Don L. (Donna) Notter of Harrodsburg; one daughter, Bette (Joe) Hammer of Bel Air, MD; 10 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Dr. Dan C. Notter.
The funeral was conducted Saturday, May 8 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Directors in Gallipolis, OH. Burial was in Mound Hill Cemetery in Gallipolis.
Pallbearers were Brent Notter, Phil Pope, Don Pope, Dick Payne, Neil McMahon and Joe Anderson.
Local arrangements were handled by the Ransdell Funeral Chapel.

CHARLES VENTERS
Charles Ted Venters, 70, Cannonball Drive, Nicholasville, husband of Jo Ann Rowland Venters, died Friday, May 7, 2004 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.
Born Nov. 23, 1933 in Millard, he was a son of the late Charles and Lacy Justice Venters.
He was a retired clerk for the U.S. Postal Service in Lexington and a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean conflict. He was a member of the Pioneer Baptist Church in Harrodsburg.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: one son, Chuck Venters of Lancaster; two daughters, Suzie Hatfield of Burgin and Debbie Morris of Lexington; one brother, Jim Venters of Titusville, FL; several step-children; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one niece, and one nephew.
The funeral was conducted Tuesday, May 11 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Rev. Lewis Walter officiating. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery with full military rites.
DOLEN YOUNT
Dolen W. Yount, 75, Buster Pike, husband of Janice Osborne Yount, died Thursday, May 6, 2004 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born Jan. 19, 1929 in Warren County, he was the son of the late John and Roxie Dinkins Yount.
He was a quality control manager for a furniture manufacturing company. He was a member of the Harrodsburg United Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: two sons, Roger Yount of Louisville and Larry Yount of New Albany, IN; one step-son, Eddie Davenport of Nicholasville; three step-daughters, Kathy Webber of Lexington, Dottie Jackson of Harrodsburg and Anita Carey of Burgin; nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Patsy Yount.
The funeral was conducted Saturday, May 8 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Owens, Dr. David Ross, and Rev. Elwood Norton officiating. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Steve Yount, Jerry Royalty, Ralph Clark, Ed Cunningham, Mike Brown, Henry Anness, Cecil Webb, and Paul Shirley. Honorary bearers were members of the Harrodsburg United Methodist Church men and the Frank Trisler Sunday School class.

MILITARY RITES
American Legion Post #52, Disabled American Veterans Chapter #54, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #6935 conducted Military Rites for Charles T. Venters at Spring Hill Cemetery on May 11, 2004.
Those attending were: Joe Harlow, Curtis Harlow, Marion Mershon, Lucian Landers, Preston Burgin, James Tewmey, Tommy Denny, Howard H. Howells and Floyd Shirley.
SSgt. Greg Himes and AlC Lucas M. Ott represented the Honor Guard for WPAFB.
RUTH BREWER
Ruth Elizabeth Brewer, 85, Eugene, OR, widow of Curtis Brewer, died April 10, 2004 of diabetes-related causes.
Born July 6, 1918 in Burgin, she was a daughter of Bert and Artie Johnson VanArsdale.
She was a homemaker and had worked in the fabric department of a J.C. Penney store for 10 years. She was a guardian with Jobs Daughters and a worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. She served as a Campfire leader. She enjoyed flower gardening, sewing and cooking, especially baking cookies.
Survivors include: two daughters, Jean Chambers and Linda Brewer, both of Eugene; one son, Fred Brewer of New York, NY; one sister, Bertie Webb of Burgin, and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, JoAnn Dirksing, and one brother, John Buck VanArsdale.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 22 at 4 p.m. at Burgin Christian Church.
