Hazel Bogie Fain, 76, Cornishville Street, formerly of Anderson County, widow of Raymond H. Fain, died Tuesday, May 18, 2004 at St. Joseph Hospital East in Lexington.
Born March 27, 1928 in Garrard County, she was the daughter of the late Lizzie Dale Baker and Polie Pruitt.
She was a former employee of Rand McNally in Versailles.
Survivors include: five daughters, Sheila Newman of WV, Frances Fain of Harrodsburg, Thelma Blevins of Nicholasville, Donna (Jeff) Hopper of Lawrenceburg, and Christine Stanford of Lexington; two sons, Ronald W. Fain of Lawrenceburg and Robert (Dianne) Bogie of Lexington; four sisters, JoAnn Crews of IN, Dorothy Sturgeon of Lexington, Lucille (Kenny) DeWitt and Rosie (John) Wallin, both of Stanford; 12 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Grovie Gene Fain, and two brothers, Jack and Gene Ray.
No services are scheduled. Mrs. Fain will be cremated.
Arrangements were handled by the Ritchie and Peach Funeral Home in Lawrenceburg.
LEON FREEMAN
Leon M. Freeman, 75, Louisville, husband of Martha Bruner Freeman, died Wednesday, May 19, 2004 at Baptist Hospital East.
Born Aug. 21, 1928 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Gabriel and Margaret Freeman.
He was a retired employee of Rural Electric Corporation. He was an army veteran of the Korean conflict.
He was a member of Okolona Christian Church and a former member of Rangeland Church of Christ, where he served on the board and worked with the youth program.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: one daughter, Becky (Larry) Thomas; sisters; brothers-in-law; two grandchildren, Andy and Sarah Thomas, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held Monday, May 24 at Resthaven Funeral Home in Louisville. Burial was in Resthaven Memorial Park.

DEREK SMITH
Derek Shaun Smith, 20, Kentucky Street, Liberty, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Thursday, May 13, 2004 at his residence.
Born Aug. 5, 1983 in Whitley County, he was the son of David Smith of Stanford and Phyllis Hampton of Harrodsburg.
He was a sawmill worker and a member of the East Salem United Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, survivors include: one brother, David Smith of Liberty; one sister, Lori (Jason) Spurr of Harrodsburg; grandparents Vernon and Mable Hedrick of London and Edith Smith of Lily; one nephew, Thomas Spurr, and one niece, Sierra Spurr, both of Harrodsburg.
The funeral was conducted Sunday, May 16 at the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel in London with the Rev. Merle Owens officiating. Burial was in the Smith Cemetery in Lily.
KATHRYNE WRIGHT
Kathryne Keenon Wright, 84, Douglasville, GA, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Thursday, May 20, 2004 in Georgia.
Born March 1, 1920 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Ollie Keenon.
She was retired from the Music Department at the University of Kentucky and was an avid University of Kentucky sports fan.
Survivors include: one son, Dr. Thomas (Denise) Wright of Douglasville; one granddaughter, Jennifer (Quill II) Healey of Atlanta, GA; two grandsons, Christopher and Andrew Wright, both of Douglasville, and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral was conducted Saturday, May 22 at the Whitley-Garner at Rosehaven Funeral Home in Douglasville. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery in Harrodsburg.
Local arrangements were handled by the Ransdell Funeral Chapel.
DOROTHY ASHTON
Dorothy Ellen Baker Ashton, 53, Boone Street, died Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at her residence.
Born June 6, 1950 in Louisville, she was the daughter of the late James H. and Anna Pearl Sanders Baker.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Harrodsburg Church of God where she had served as chairperson of the Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include: her foster mother, Stella Brooks of Frankfort; three sons, Thomas Darland, Tim Darland and David Ashton all of Harrodsburg; six brothers, Jim McWilliams of St. Louis, MO, Bert Beeler of Portland, OR, Jerry and Jeff Simpson, both of Louisville, Bobby McFarland of GA, and David McFarland of Frankfort; four sisters, Shirley Radcliffe and Linda Cave of Louisville, Jackie Neely of Richmond, and Connie McFarland of Frankfort; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Friday, June 4 at 2 p.m. at the Harrodsburg Church of God with Bro. Glenn Daugherty and Jim McWilliams officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Harmon, Mike Hendrickson, Jimmy Coffman, Mark Steele, Doug Sewell, Marty Long, Marty Hurst and Keith Rogers.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren.
Visitation Thursday from 6 until 9 p.m. at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home and Friday after 10 a.m. at the Harrodsburg Church of God.
JASON GIBSON
Jason Carl "Jack" Gibson, 61, 1438 Paradise Camp Road, husband of Regina Browning Gibson, died Thursday, May 27, 2004 at his residence.
Born May 4, 1943 in Danville, he was the son of Lucille Case Gibson and the late James Patrick Gibson.
He was a cost accountant with the Bosch-Rexroth Corporation of Lexington.
He graduated from Danville High School in 1961 and attended Eastern Kentucky University. He had been a Boy Scout leader in Lexington. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, boater and outdoorsman. He attended Lexington Avenue Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: one son, Johnathan C (Tonia) Gibson of Morehead; one daughter, Jacqueline (Ron) Harless of Danville; two sisters, Jean G. (Ted) Sutton of Danville and Janet G. (Jerry) Eldridge of Lancaster; two brothers, James L. (Patty) Gibson and his twin brother, Joseph A. (Paula) Gibson, and two granddaughters, Erica Marie and Kristine Nichole Harless, all of Danville.
The funeral was held Tuesday, June 1 at Lexington Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Stillwell officiating. Burial was in Bellevue Cemetery in Danville.
Arrangements were handled by Stith Funeral Home in Danville.
The family requests memorials be sent to the Herrington Lake Conservation League.
LELA ROBINSON
Lela D. Holt Robinson, 90, Louisville Road, Salvisa, widow of Roy E. Robinson, died Friday, May 28, 2004 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 18, 1913 in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Martha Bell Taylor and Reilly Jackson Holt.
She was a homemaker and member of the Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one son, Lillard E. (Oneta) Robinson of Lawrenceburg; three daughters, Helen Robinson of Salvisa, Barbara D. Stratton of Lawrenceburg, and Linda Wright of Harrodsburg; one brother, R.J. Holt of Harrodsburg; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Margaret Zeliff; one sister, Lizzie Pearl Holt, and one brother, Lillard Holt.
The funeral was held Tuesday, June 1 at the Ritchie and Peach Funeral Home in Lawrenceburg with Bro. Tyre Denney and Bro. Jason Clark officiating. Burial was in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Stratton, Tracy Sipes, Greg Atchinson, and Todd, Michael and Homer Robinson.

DALE STUMPH
Dale Stumph, 69, Chinn Lane, died Thursday, May 20, 2004 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born March 5, 1935 in Mercer County, he was the son of Goldie Cornish Stumph of Harrodsburg and the late Thomas Stumph.
He was a retired IBM employee after 23 years of service, was a Hitachi Automotive Parts Quality Control Department employee and had served with the Kentucky National Guard. He attended the First Church of God in Danville, raised Pomeranians and was an avid flower gardener and accomplished pianist.
In addition to his mother, survivors include: one foster daughter, Victoria Everman of Harrodsburg; one niece, Kathleen Luttrell of Harrodsburg, and one nephew, Tom Drury of Lexington.
The funeral was held Saturday, May 22 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Cox and Dan Stoltzfus officiating. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ralph Phillips, Dale Peavler, Dan Stoltzfus, Donnie Irvine, Phillip Sparrow, Albert Hawkins and Mark Caton.
Honorary pallbearers were Charles Matherly, Larry Yeager, Eddie Goodlett, Bobby Parson, Daryl Dickerson and Paul Ellis.

MARY TERHUNE
Mary Neal Terhune, 95, Clewiston, FL, formerly of Harrodsburg, widow of Robert F. Terhune, died Thursday, May 27, 2004 in Florida.
Born July 17, 1908 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Ben Casey and Ora VanArsdall Allin.
She was a retired homemaker and a member of the Wilton Manors Christian Church in Florida.
Survivors include: one daughter, Mrs. Betty (James) Wells of Clewiston, FL; two grandsons, Michael (Jody) Wells of Versailles and James (Mary) Wells of Winchester; seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth Allin Gabhart.
The funeral was conducted Monday, May 31 at the Adkin Davis Funeral Home in Clewiston. A graveside funeral service will be conducted today, Thursday, June 3 at 11 a.m. at the Spring Hill Cemetery in Harrodsburg with Rev. Jeanette Lucas officiating.
No local visitation.
