ANNA COFFMAN

Anna Estes Coffman, 90, of Stanford, died Friday, December 31, 3004 at her residence.

Born May 3, 1914, in Pulaski County, she was the daughter of the late Riley and Maggie Wesley Godbey. She was the widow of Sam Estes and Virgil Coffman.

She was a homemaker and a member of New Salem Baptist Church.

Survivors include: two sons, Nellus Estes, Harrodsburg, and John Estes, Stanford; two daughters, Alberta Rowland, Moreland, and Betty Satterly, Hustonville; five sisters, Linda Clements, Franklin, IN, Myrtle Hardwick and Opal Clements, both of Liberty, Marie Campbell, Salvisa, and Christine Sanders, Harrodsburg; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; 17 step-great-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-great-grandchild.

She was proceeded in death by two daughters, Roberta Estes and Evelyn Luster.

Funeral services were held Sunday, January 2, at W. L. Pruitt Funeral Home by G. W. Smith. Burial was in New Salem Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Mike Estes, Greg Estes, Cecil Rowland, Johnny Estes, Matthew Allen, Timothy Tipton, Scott Rowland and Larry Pitman.

WILLIE BEASLEY

Willie J. Hanks Beasley, 91, Lawrenceburg, widow of Thomas “Tom” Beasley, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004 at Heritage Hall Care Center.

Born June 5, 1913 in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late William Johnson and Mary Jane Bond Hanks.

She was a 1931 Lawrenceburg High School graduate, a former employee of Dean and Sherk Thread Factory and the Anderson County Agricultural Stabilization Commission. She was a member of the Sand Spring Baptist Church and the Homemakers Sunday School Class.

Survivors include: five nieces including Bonnie Hatchett of Harrodsburg, and two nephews.

She was preceded in death by five sisters, Katherine Jamerson, Gertrude Hutchinson, Beulah Nevins, Stella Smith and Frances Smith.

The funeral was held Friday, Dec. 31 at the Ritchie and Peach Funeral Home in Lawrenceburg with Dr. Mike Hamrick officiating. Burial was in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Sand Spring Baptist Church, Building Fund, 1616 Harrodsburg Road, Lawrenceburg, KY 40342.

MATTIE DEVINE
Mattie J. Click Devine, 92, widow of William Cecil Devine, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005 at the Danville Centre for Health and Rehabilitation.

Born Aug. 1, 1912 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Felix and Martha Carey Click.

She attended Eastern Kentucky Teachers College and was a former teacher at Black School on Deep Creek Road in Mercer County. She was a member of Ellers Memorial Baptist Church.

Survivors include: one son, James Lindsey (Gayle) Devine of Danville; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren, and seven step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Charles Walter Devine.

The funeral was conducted Wednesday, Jan. 5 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Dr. Kenneth Whitehouse officiating. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers were David Cummins, John Watts, Rickie Click, Junior Tatum, Larry Dale Devine and Ott Lynn Elliott.

HOWARD GIBSON
Howard Gibson, 70, widower of Judy Votaw Gibson, died Friday, Dec. 31, 2004 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

Born March 17, 1934 in Lancaster, he was a son of the late James S. and Alice Adams Gibson

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a retired engineer for Johnson Controls.

Survivors include: one daughter, Debbie (Rick) Wallin; two sisters, Helen Elliott of Lawrenceburg and Lee Ora Jackson of Harrodsburg; two brothers, Leonard Gibson of Radcliff and Lewis Gibson of Hamilton, OH; two grandchildren, and his fiancée, Janet Perkins of Stamping Ground.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Tammy Gibson, and two brothers, James and Everett Gibson.

The funeral was held Tuesday, Jan. 4 at Kerr Brothers -- Harrodsburg Road in Lexington. Burial was in the Bluegrass Memorial Gardens.

DAVID JONES
David C. Jones, 84, 851 S. College St., Apt. C2, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005 at his residence.

Born Oct. 18, 1920 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Samuel B. and Violet Carter Jones.

He served during World War II in the Army Air Corps, he was a retired technician for the McCoy and McCoy Co. of Lexington, and he was a member of the St. Philips Episcopal Church.

Survivors include: several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by four sisters, Marian Weber, Mina Rea Perlow, Elizabeth Myers and Virginia Wade.

Graveside services were conducted Tuesday, Jan. 4th at the Spring Hill Cemetery. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 8 at 3 p.m. at the St. Phillips Episcopal Church with Joan Smith officiating.

Arrangements were handled by the Ransdell Funeral Chapel.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Philips Episcopal Church, 118 W. Poplar St., Harrodsburg, KY 40330.

PAULINE LANE
Pauline Lane, 54, North College St., wife of Howard Lane, died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005 at her residence.

Born Feb. 23, 1950 in Lexington, she was the daughter of the late Wiley James and Helen Cole Grimes.

She was a crew leader for Florida Tile in Lawrenceburg and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Harrodsburg.

In addition to her husband, survivors include: one daughter, Jennifer Gail Mason of Bardstown; one son, Phillip Lane of Harrodsburg; three sisters, Hazel Fredrick of Lexington, Lucille Frances of Paris and Elizabeth Howland of Las Vegas, NV; three stepdaughters; two stepsons; two grandsons, and one granddaughter.

The funeral was conducted Tuesday, Jan. 4 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Stephen Ramsey officiating. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Phillip Lane, Paul Hartman, Steven Goodlett, LeRoy Patterson, Mike Worthington and Tom Baker.

Memorial contributions may be sent to Heritage Hospice.

SARA LANGSTON
Sara Bonta Gentry Langston, 89, Bradenton, FL, wife of George A. Langston, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005 at Blake Hospital in Bradenton.

Born Oct. 23, 1915 in Harrodsburg, she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Margaret Hanna Gentry.

She attended Centre College and the University of Kentucky, graduating in 1937 with a major in journalism. Later she moved to Dayton, OH and was employed at Wright Patterson Air Force Base and the Kettering Board of Education, from which she retired.

In addition to her husband, survivors include: two daughters, Margaret G. “Peggy” Langston and Mary G. “Gigi” Baron, both of Oakland, CA, and two granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Gentry “Maggie” Allison.

Funeral services will be private. Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Calloway County.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the charity of one’s choice.

H. T. MILBURN
H. T. Milburn, 78, East Main St., Springfield, husband of Laura Royalty Milburn, died Friday, Dec. 31, 2004 at the Spring View Hospital in Lebanon.

Born Jan. 20, 1926 in Washington County, he was a son of the late Haldene and Gertrude Pendergraft Milburn.

He was the longtime owner and operator of Milburn’s Shoe Shop and Repair in Harrodsburg and was a member of the Springfield Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, survivors include: two daughters, Charlotte (Howard) Brady of Springfield and Sharon (Rick) Thompson of Lexington; three sons, Rex (Melanie) Milburn of Douglasville, GA, Len Milburn and Bruce Milburn, both of Springfield; three brothers, Garnett (Ann) Milburn of Louisville, Gilbert (Nancy) Milburn of Bardstown and Delbert (Bonnie) Milburn of Danville; three sisters, Nellie (Ben) Hayden of Bardstown, Mary Lou (Jim Kent) Harmon of Springfield and Iona (Bill) Williams of Clarksville, TN; 13 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held Monday, Jan. 3 at the Carey and Son Funeral Home in Springfield with Rev. Troy Shelton, pastor of the River of Life Church, officiating and assisted by Rev. John McDaniel, pastor of Temple Baptist Church. Burial was in the Bethlehem Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Patrick and Jason Brady, Cameron Thompson, Justin Milburn, Cliff Peak, Geoff Mallory and Tom Briscoe.

Honorary pallbearers were Shane Thompson and Nicholas and Matthew Milburn.

ALISSA VANARSDALL
Alissa Michelle VanArsdall, daughter of Joshua Lee VanArsdall and Linda Michelle Neal of Harrodsburg, was stillborn Monday, Jan. 3, 2005 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.

In addition to her parents, survivors include: one brother, Joshua Wayne VanArsdall; maternal grandmother Mary Montgomery and paternal grandmother Debbie VanArsdall, both of Harrodsburg; paternal grandfather Mark VanArsdall of Shreveport, LA; paternal great-grandparents Alfred and Kathy VanArsdall and paternal great-grandmother Rosetta Courtney, all of Harrodsburg; paternal great-grandfather Marvin Phillips of Danville; maternal great-grandmother Anna Bays and maternal step-great-grandfather Ralph Bays, both of Perryville.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Joe Tingle.

Graveside services will be today, Thursday, Jan. 6 at 10 a.m. at Spring Hill Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home.

FRANCES VORIS

Frances Davis Voris, age 86, North First Street, Burgin, widow of Everett B. Voris, died Thursday, December 30, 2004 at the Haggin Memorial Hospital.

Born April 30, 1918 in Burgin, she was the daughter of the late John Cecil and Addye (Baker) Davis. She was a Harrodsburg Herald office clerk, a graduate of Burgin High School and Fugazzi Business College, an active member of the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and a life-long member and Deacon of the Burgin Christian Church Disciples of Christ.

Survivors include: one daughter: Ann Frances Voris, Harrodsburg; one brother: J. C. Davis, Louisville; three sisters: Mrs. Clay (Louise) Wells, Frankfort, Mrs. Louis (Imogene) Ford, Louisville, and Mrs. Sam (Christine) Huey, Lexington; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Davis.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Saturday, January 1, 2005 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Rachel Doolin. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be Friday, December 31, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the chapel.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Burgin Christian Church, 300 West Main Street, Burgin, KY 40310.
